Fantastic Read! This book is a must have in Modern day Spanish classrooms to support the new generation of learning a second language . With 15 years in the teaching industry and 12 in Foreign Language learning , I don’t think I have ever come across a more valuable piece of literature to share with my students . Well done to the authors of this work of art . Buy it now educators !
What a great reader to use with Spanish-language learners. Not only is it comprehensible, but it's an interesting story and culturally sensitive - unlike so many of the other readers that are out there! I highly recommend!
Excellent presentation of past tense. Engaging storyline that’s of interest to students. Provides good info/context on Dominican and Haitian relationship and culture as well. Perfect for my students!
I’m learning Spanish on my own and this book is wonderful. It’s culturally interesting and I truly empathize with the characters. I found myself wanting to learn more after I was done. Excellent!
I suffered through a bunch of graded readers when I started reading in Spanish but this wasn't one of them. I genuinely enjoyed this story and was glad to see that it was culturally sensitive. Yes, it was a simple story about boys from DR who like béisbol but it was exactly the right level for me and I found myself feeling curious about what happened in the next chapter.
Once I finished, I also used the book in my Spanish classes. I read one chapter out loud to my tutor every week and we used the book to discuss different themes or ideas.
