Rejected Omega #2
Taunt Me
I was framed for murdering another Omega, and my only chance at survival were the Alphas I’d turned into enemies.
I hated asking for help—hated begging while they taunted me, but there was no other option. They were the only ones standing between me and death.
If only their proximity didn’t keep me on edge.
One moment, they treated me like they wanted me; the next, like an inconvenience they couldn’t wait to get rid of.
Provoking them became my only source of entertainment, because if I could get under their skin, it meant they weren’t as unflappable as they tried to act.
But as soon as they offered me a glimpse beneath their carefully cultivated control, I began to unravel, teetering on the edge of falling for the cruel Alphas.
Until I discovered their secret and faced a bitter truth—I’d rather die than belong to them.
Tropes:
♥ Omega in need of protection
♥ Scent Matches
♥Groveling
♥ They know she’s their scent match—but she doesn’t.
♥ Med/high Spice
♥Non shifting growly Alphas.
♥OW/OM drama

Not bad but too fast paced for me. So much sex and sexual stuff before tge 51% mark but the plot had gone nowhere at that point. When the FMC stupidly turbed herself in with no legal representation or without bothering to tell ANYONE. She's shocked at her treatment inside ? Like shocked she'd be asked to strip?
Honey, they think you murdered an innocent omega- you're going to prison or a breeding facility. This was said multiple times, this was why she went to the MCs for protection.
Yeah, it sucks they with held being her scent matches for months, it wasn't personal though, at the time they didnt want a permanent female in their life - not excusing them but that was their reasoning.
Even after that the worst treatment she got was a couple of coerced bjs which she enjoyed doing anyway & seeing 1 of them get kissed.
The guys had been all over since day 1 though and felt zero desire for anyone else.
Surely staying at tgeir house in tge lap of luxury was better than turning yourself in for a murder you did not commit, with zero evidence helping you & with the possibility of being forced into a breeding facilty. I could not.

I quite enjoyed these alphas and their omega, even though the alphas were cruel to her in the beginning...
This book follows Briar and I love how unapologetic this little omega is about who she is. She is so strong and her belief in her values is everything 😍 All she wants is the truth exposed, and when she is framed for murder, she will do anything to get to safety before she is killed too, even begging alphas who hate her to take her in.
Elias is the alpha who hurt her the most emotionally but he is also the one who will literally crawl to her. His hurt runs deep though, and the abuse he suffered is heartbreaking and makes you understand more of him and what he has been through.
Sinclair... hello hottie! He is a lot on the crazy scale but his obsession with her is on another level... also those piercings??? IYKYK 🔥
Kyan is the most level headed of her alphas, but he disappointed me most since he didn't push them more to see reason. His sweet and observant nature is one thing that pulled me to him.
All these alphas have a ruthless side but the groveling was the thing I loved most. Great book! Can't wait to read more of her work!

This one was a wild ride, from beginning to end! There were twists and turns… But what I enjoyed the most was the GROVEL x3🧎🧎🏻🧎🏽😌.
I just love watching delulu and unhinged Alphas slide into their Simp Era, for their Omega. I especially love it when they mess up and that Omega drags them for utter filth. Making them CRAWL to her, for forgiveness. It’s so satisfying 🙂↔️. This book had that, and more. Which is why it had me hooked from the start.
I’m looking forward to this author’s next book and I’m about to do a deep dive into her other books that I haven’t read yet 👀.

Possible spoilers:
I read it almost to the end. I really tried to finish, but I just could not stand Briar’s character. She makes a deal with the pack she did a story on, as she is framed for murder, life in danger. They don’t want an omega, mostly due to their past. They make the deal to help her get away but she finds out they knew she was their sent match. Instead of talking with them, she decides she would rather put herself in danger, defeating the purpose of the deal. She becomes mean and vindictive, not very smart. She takes advantage of generosity and becomes a character that I couldn’t respect or like even a little. The Alphas, just stopped being strong Alphas halfway through the book. The author is great at creating characters with good and bad personalities, as they can make or break the storyline. I love this author and will read again any other books she puts out there.

Ehhh
Smut scenes interspersed with the fmc showering. Very little plot or actual action. Literally nothing is happening upto chapter 25 apart from the above mentioned showering and smut.
Not for me.

First Impressions: A reluctant Omega seeks refuge in the last place she ever thought she'd fund herself as she races against the clock to clear her name for a heinous, unthinkable crime in a dystopian present.
Pacing: It's not a short book, but the multiple dangers and intersecting relationships made for a quick read. It left me breathless in the best way possible.
Character development: I love a hardened, difficult Omega. Briar isn't bratty, she's unapologetic and on a mission for truth. Elias, Sinclair, and Kyan aren't good Alphas - at least at the beginning. Through trial by fire, the four do come together to heal some old wounds and build real bonds together.
World Building: This was a really unique Omegaverse story. "Taunt Me" doesn't follow the typical sweet, small town romances I normally associate with the genre. Instead, the reader is painted a bleak landscape that is deeply misogynistic and dystopian. The Omega trade and Bordello made me think of Jezebel's from "The Handmaid's Tale" and Scales from "Year of the Flood."
Romance: Uh, this isn't a story of sweet, tender love so much as attraction and devotion.
Spice: It's piping hot. If you are familiar with Omegaverse fiction, then you are aware of the spice level. If you are not, be aware that physical affection is constant and very descriptive.
Errors and Consistency: None obvious errors, and all the characters maintain consistent voices throughout.
Overall experience: I wasn't sure how a dark Omegaverse story was going to work, but this was great! "Taunt Me" has a lot of fingerprints from "The Handmaid's Tale" and "MaddAddam" in the best way. It is a dark story, and Briar's Omega urges often overwhlem her rationale, so check the content warnings before cracking into this one. I hope this book because part of a much larger universe.

Taunt Me is the kind of story that sinks its teeth into you and refuses to let go equal parts dangerous, emotional, and wickedly addictive.
Right from the start, the stakes are high. Being framed for murder is bad enough, but having to crawl back to the very Alphas you’ve turned into enemies? That’s the kind of deliciously painful setup that makes this book impossible to put down.
The dynamic here is everything. It’s tense, volatile, and constantly shifting. One second, the Alphas act like they want her the next, like she’s nothing more than a burden. That push-and-pull? Absolutely maddening in the best way. You never quite feel steady, and neither does she.
And the heroine? She’s not weak, not even close. Even when she’s forced into a corner, she fights back the only way she can by provoking them, challenging them, refusing to break. There’s something so satisfying about watching her get under their skin, especially when it cracks that cold, controlled exterior they try so hard to maintain.
But what really elevates this story is the emotional unraveling. Beneath all the taunts and tension, there’s vulnerability on both sides. The closer she gets to them, the more dangerous it becomes, not just physically, but emotionally. And just when you think things might soften that secret drops.
And wow it hurts.
That final realization? The choice between survival and self-respect, between desire and freedom? It lands hard and leaves a mark. It’s raw, intense, and just the right amount of cruel. The kind of story where love doesn’t come easy and maybe isn’t safe even when it does.

Before anyone freaks out that I am giving it a rating, while filing it under DNF, I want you to know that I DNF'd it at 85%. 293 pages.
What finally did it for me though, is how STUPID the FMC is at the end of the book, when she's confronting the bad guys. Chapter 49 finally pushed me into rage-throwing.
It makes me sad, because I feel like this could have been really well written-there's trauma, there's SA, there's murder and betrayal and all the good stuff, but...no.
Other things I disliked:
1) There are a LOT of continuity errors.
-There is one part where one of the MMCs is grateful that he doesn't have a bond with the FMC, then the next paragraph, she can feel his rage through the bond.
-MMC is over her while they're having sex, and two sentences later, he flips her onto her back.
2) The MMCs. They know something SUPER important that impacts the FMC in a HUGE way, but they don't share that info, for 'reasons'. I get that part. But I'm 48 chapters in, they're trying to earn her forgiveness, yet STILL they don't ask for her opinion, or listen to what she's saying. It's like sex is the only way they're able to communicate. STILL.
There's one scene, where they're getting ready to go to an auction. They've ordered all these dresses for her to try-she's standing there in shirt and panties, and they're arguing over which dress she should wear. Not in a cute, 'these are my opinions' way, but in a 'you might as well be a doll' way.
3) Don't even get me started on the consent in this one. It's not dub-con, it's straight non-con. But it's 'ok' because she gets off, and finds them attractive.

Unflappable
I heard an editor talking about a mistake authors make when writing E2L romances. How, when the mmc's are enemies, their personalities are clearly established, and then when forgiveness happens, they become something other than the character developed early on. This book is a prime example of that.
There should absolutely be character growth, but the mistake is made when they essentially get a personality transplant, which is basically these dudes, at least by half.
These three bad guy power players, alpha a-holes, go from being dark, possessive savages to discussing dress colors.
The smoking fmc is annoying. I get that smokers exist, but it's such a juvenile character "trait". It's giving:
"A young author thinks smoking is cool, so they must include it in writing."
"The author thinks smoking is an edgy personality trait that makes the character more bad*ss."
"The author is a smoker and wants it represented in writing."
All gross.
Smoking characters can be "normalized," but not in this case.
The fmc was hiding it like a child while making sure the reader knew how much she "needed it to relax".
Her smoking and hiding it was the single biggest thing I disliked about the fmc, and that was entirely how it was written.
The book and story were fine beyond that, but what I appreciated most about it was that it was a standalone. They're hard to find and that alone was the main reason I picked this up.

This book had a lot of huge emotional moments, however they lacked the punch they would have had if the set up was better.
Tried to unalive herself ✅ however it honestly felt like it came out of left field
She turned herself into the police ✅ this was a HUGE move that made a big statement yet the guys were somewhat unfazed. She would rather be dead or in jail than be with you…and you decide to bond her and bark command her to complete the bond? Real nice…
Tons of moments I loved which is why I rated so high.
The moment they found out she was living out of her car 🥹
When Sinclair tore apart the poster of the woman 🙌
Whenever any of them got on their knees to apologize 🧎🧎🧎
When Elias crawled to her 🥵
They sold their business to make her happier, they bought her a company so she could work, they supported her career in general, they bought her clothes, they were a big fan of bringing her pleasure ❤️

Esh...
I couldn't for the life of me connect with the FMC. She was annoying at best. So, so entitled. She needed help, "bought" it the only way she could and then gripped about it. Her poor me routine was old 20% into the book. The whole omega auction was glossed over. She never questioned how the omegas were obtained or even what happened to them. Nothing. It was bizarre. They closed all their businesses but really only one was ever mentioned.
This is the second book in the series and I did have to go back and refresh my memory on the first. I didn't like it but read this one thinking maybe it would be better. But it wasn't. I don't know if it's her style of how she portrayed the female characters, petty, almost unhinged (the secondary females definitely unhinged and desperate). Nothing about them is strong and appealing. I wouldn't date these women. Playing games in a relationship isn't a cute or romantic.

This was amazing, every book Allie Santos gets better and better!
Briar is a journalist and is onto a big story about the Bourne pack who are into some evil things.
She had done a story on another pack Greymont which had previously gotten her into trouble, the problem is she has to turn to the Greymont pack to keep her safe as she is accused of murdering an omega.
The Greymont pack knows she's their scent matched omega and they are trying to stay away from her, they don't want or need an omega, even their scent matched one.
They are mean and rough, but they take her in.
This story takes some incredible emotional swings, and I am so here for it, it was heartbreaking, intense and so spicy!!
I loved briar and the guys, Elias, Sinclair and Kyan.
Every book that Allie Santos writes gets better and better, she is an incredible author and this is well worth the read.

There was just so much happening, and every single moment felt like it was full of life and passion. The story had this magnetic pull that completely drew me in, mind and heart. I was halfway through and suddenly realised there was still so much more waiting, so much more to feel and experience. I adore a FMC who refuses to back down after being hurt like that—she’s a force of nature, resilient and fierce. They had to fight for her, and she won’t settle for anything less than the real deal.
I genuinely love seeing those unhinged Alphas there’s something electrifying about it, especially when they screw up and that Omega calls them out with fierce, razor-sharp honesty it's downright addictive. That raw, unfiltered passion? That’s what makes my heart race.

Briar's story grabbed my attention from the beginning and it easily held me captive!
This book was filled with lots of spice, (which I personally love.) Allie always brings the heat. 🥵
In addition there was drama, secrets, and some twists. It was filled with so many different emotions too.
Briar was the star in this book. She was resilient, determined, and didn't back down. She made her alphas beg for forgiveness.
Im not gonna lie, her alphas were not good in the beginning. Rest assured they do grovel. While I don't excuse their behavior, I can understand some of the reasoning.
In the end, I was satisfied with the growth and improvements in her alphas.
I think the all deserved a happy ending and I was glad they finally found it!

This book was so enjoyable! Allie really brings the Omegaverse to life with her tempting stories.
I loved reading about Briar and her alphas, Elias, Sinclair and Kyan.
They were sexy crazy guys! With dark and abusive pasts that they tried to forget, they became a powerful pack and Briar completed that bond as their Omega …. eventually lol.
She was a force to be reckoned with, stubborn and knew her own mind. A reporter by nature so she was always looking for a good story. Well, she found a big one and it landed her in a whole lot of trouble.
The plot, tension, grovelling, revelations and the little twist I didn’t see coming at the end made for a fantastic read.

My review is due to personal triggers and not a reflection on the author.
Maybe’s I should have sticked to the book to get a better overview but sadly this was not for me.
To me it is all about choice and it felt to me that the MMC forces the FMC to do anything for the help and that includes all sexual act. So she now feels all kinds of turned on because they are scent matches but that seems just a forced issue and not a choice. They literally go at it like animals and that is not for me.
Also to me a badass FMC does not have to say things like I want cig or sacrifice femininity to be a badass.
The MMC are also morally black to me and I prefer mine more on the grey side.

Well written but I cannot STAND Briar omg. She’s so bullheaded, so nasty and mean at times that I wish the guys would cut her loose just to be rid of her. I’m all for making guys suffer after they hurt you but she was just down right awful. And she made the stupidest decisions for reasons only she knows. After she turned herself in like an idiot it was down hill from there for me. Cannot stand fmcs like her, don’t wanna listen, always have something to prove until they literally get themselves or someone else hurt, which of course is what happened at the masquerade party. Please retire these awful fmc archetypes. I’m sick to death of them.

im all about the grovel but this book didn't check off the boxes. shes a reporter on the run. accused of murder she runs to another pack that can protect her. she throws herself on their mercy. they run super hot and then cold with her. well meanwhile theyre her scent matches. they think theyre too broken for her. WELL she slashes her wrist and they INSTANTLY FLIP. IMMEDIATELY they team omega. shes not having it. LATER they FORCE her to bond! like thats going to help rebuild trust?! Well thats glossed over. She panicks and turns herself in to prison. It's a disjointed and choppy story where every 5 minutes shes having s3x with someone despite hating them.

There's nothing I love more than watching unhinged and cruel Alpha's become down bad for an Omega. 🫦
Sinclair, Elias, and Kyan are all so cruel to Briar in the beginning since she has is running from the cops and they have a rough history. This isn't the first time they've treated omegas awful, but it will be the last 😏
Briar makes these men fall fast and hard and they are literally going crazy trying to resist her and beg for forgiveness. I enjoyed the bit at the end with the other omega also 😈
Thank you to the author, Allie Santos, for an ARC of this book!

My mind is absolutely blown... I will say I did receive this an arc but am willingly leaving this review. There was just so much going on in but in the best way possible. There's a plot that just sucks you in. I reached like halfway thru and realized I was only at the top. of the rollercoaster. I love a FMC that doesn't just give in after being hurt like that. They had to work at and she wouldn't settle for less. Overall fantastic job Allie. !!!

This is another gripping rejected mate/bully RH romance and I have to say, I loved Briar. That omega is beyond tough and holds her alphas totally accountable…complete with groveling ;D This is a fast paced and fascinating read that showcases Briar’s resilience. Expect to get caught up in the engaging plot, characters, drama, danger, trauma, revelations, heartbreak, action, banter, twists and hot spice as Briar eventually completes their pack. So good and I definitely recommend :D

Wow!!!! Hot, Hot. Hot
I really enjoy reading Allie Santos' books. Hers are the first Omegaverse books I've read and got me into liking the genre. The stores are good and just dark enough for me. While I did not like the mmc's at the beginning I knew that Allie would have me falling in love with them by the end. Briar was a good strong fmc and I really liked her. I can't wait to read more from this author.

this was… meh. the author made such a big deal about the supposed grovelling but i wasn’t impressed. sure yeah, i did see where they were coming from but the effects were ruined by the fact that all three men had access to briar’s body before and after the truth came out. it’s like, what was even the point? there was never any stakes. at the end of the day, the whole thing just falls flat.

So deliciously dark!!
I ate this book up!! Briar, Kyan, Elias and Sinclair's story is so perfect!! It's got toe curling angst, drama, tension and all the groveling! I loved Briar's ferocity! She's unapologetically tenacious! Allie Santos, for me, has become the queen of angst and grovel! I will read anything she writes and I can't get enough of her dark omegaverse!

Taunt Me by Allie Santos is a dark OmegaVerse. It starts right off with Briar on the run and she needs to call certain Alphas to try to get help. I didn't really like the Alphas at first, but they grovel and I slowly started to like them. Loved the story. Check your TWs. Can't wait for more.

Taunting
This is a book that I was waiting for a few weeks. Once I saw it was out to be read, I jumped at the chance to get it in my library.
This is such a great story, talking about rejection, and the grovel game is top notch

I don’t know why but I love it when the alphas are complete jerks and have to grovel to get their omega back. Briar actually got away from them via an interesting method. The alphas had a lot of work to do to get Briar back.

Definitely some bully behavior and much needed groveling. But I really enjoyed this read. I loved the sweet omega and that she kept her strength even when she felt weak and like giving up.
Some excellent spice and sweet moments after the mmc's get their stuff together!

I love this book!
I think Briar is great. I love how she is determined to survive, but the best thing is when Elias, Kyan and Sinclair, realise they made a big mistake; Queue the grovelling! Those are the best scenes when they unravel.
This is a fun, emotional and fully entertaining read!
