This book had me laughing. I don’t come across many rom-coms that actually do it for me, but this one hit the spot. The storyline was so cute. Everybody needs a Prince Charming like little Ernie and a sidekick like cousin crazy-tail Porsche. The banter between Sparkle and Porsche had me hollering the entire time.
The love story gave me that bubbly, feel-good feeling. Even though it was a quick, fun, easy read, there were still some gems in there like not letting someone else’s story write yours. It also shows that your person might’ve been right there from the start… you just gotta pay attention. Let that hurt go and let love in.
The author did a great job with her first debut rom-com, and I can’t wait to see what she drops next. If you need a good laugh and something light for the meantime, in-between times, go ahead and pick this one up.
First and foremost I just wanna say I’m super slow for not catching the reference of the title immediately. Secondly, this was such a cute and cozy read. I definitely caught myself giggling so much through this book. If you’re looking for a cozy, feel good black love book, this the one! Got me in ambulance kicking my feet up laughing in between patients!
Well that was an cute little quick read. I loved the relationship with sparkle and her cousin Porsche, we love a good support system. The relationship was fast but it definitely worked for them and I love a man that loves correctly. Ernest showed up consistently and we love that. The rule of 3s was cute, my girl did not have luck on her side lol.
This was a cute, feel good romance with an instant love vibe that made it a fun and easy read.
I really liked how the author showed Sparkle overcoming her fears and stepping into something new. Her growth was one of my favorite parts of the story, and it made the romance even sweeter.
I would have loved to spend even more time in this world and with these characters because I enjoyed them so much. The story left me wanting just a little more, which to me is a good thing.
Overall, this was a sweet, uplifting story and a quick, fun read that left me smiling.
Such a quick but adorably fun read! Sparkle is relatable, hilarious, and perfectly imperfect as she navigates love, standards, and a looming midlife crisis. The Valentine’s Day challenge adds just the right amount of chaos, and Cousin Porsche is the MVP—down-for-whatever energy we all need. This story had me smiling the whole way through, rooting for Sparkle while also yelling, girl, get out of your own way! Sweet, funny, and full of heart, this book proves Cupid might just need a little help—and so do we sometimes. A cute, feel-good romance that’s perfect when you want something light, fast, and satisfying.
4.5/5 Star rating!! 🌟 Sparkle and her cousin had me cackling. There's so much I was want to say and highlight about this story, because I didn't want it to end, but I dont want to spoil it. I wanted a little bit more of Sparkle's story, because it played out like a movie as I read it. Which makes me think, I never thought that there could be a more modern remake of Deliver Us from Eva, but Tee is on to something good.
All I can say is if you need a good book this is the one, run don’t walk and get it. It has you laughing, thinking and crying. The cousin reminds me so much of myself the way she jokingly speaks to her cousin. So far the best one. I need a part for the cousin. The writer really took her time to get this one out I love it.
