I am happily married and a mom of five awesome kids. We live on a wanna-be mini farm with fruit trees, berry patches, horses, cows, chickens, dogs, and cats (may the ducks rest in peace).
If I’m not reading, watching Lord of the Rings, scrapbooking, or running my kids to extra-curricular activities, I’m either writing or eating peanut butter and chocolate (or wishing I was doing them both at the same time).

What to expect: NA epic fantasy, action & adventure, budding romance, full moon curse, suppressed memories, dual POVs, coming-of-age, protective MMC, FMC growth, medieval vibes, classic vibes, found family
I loved reading this book! I found myself thinking about it frequently when I wasn’t reading it. There was quite a bit to know about the world as the FMC discovered more about who she was and where she belonged, but it didn’t feel overwhelming to me with the way it was integrated. To me, it felt like cozy vibes mixed in with the high-stakes plot and also was a bit mysterious. The pace was on the slow to medium side, and it didn’t feel boring to me, though, because I liked the story-building, side characters, and character development. I liked that the FMC was gentle and empathic and was grounded while allowing herself to show emotions. The MMC struggled with a lot of inner turmoil that I won’t say too much about, but I appreciate how protective and honorable he was while still having brooding vibes women like to read, haha. The romance aspect was the perfect amount of slow thus far, imo, but it also leaves you a little frustrated, in a good way if that makes sense. I did personally find the dialogue at times to be a bit too scripted and not feel authentic. I would say you can find courage, transformation, learning trust, self-worth, loyalty, and moral grounding, which are great for epic fantasy. These people still need to work on some things, though. 👀 Overall, I definitely want to continue the series.
📖 content 📖
-spice level: I don’t want to spoil anything for a reason, but you have nothing to worry about in the spice/smut department if you don’t want to read it (if that’s not a good enough answer, you can message me).
-profanity: None at all
-notes directly from the author: 7 year age gap between love interests, mentions of death of family members, mentions of past suicidal thoughts and someone who committed, mentions and signs of past abuse, non-graphic fantasy violence and death
I received a gifted copy for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

This lovely fantasy felt like a warm hug; it felt like coming home.
Elandria is a kind, courageous, and clever young woman who has been through so much, but continues to get back up when life knocks her down again and again. Her deeply rooted emotions and pain caused by her lost memories coming to the surface, along with her newly discovered magic, her love for Drustan and the people of Mount Haven, resonated with me so much. Drustan as an MMC is brave, protective, swoon worthy, and seeks to do the right thing-even when the people of Mount Haven avoid him due to him being a werewolf. I’ve not read many werewolf shifter fantasies, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one! The found family is great, the love story sweet, and the lore of this world so intriguing.
I can’t wait to continue Elandria and Drustan’s story!
Romantic Content: ❌ No Spice
CW: Memories Suppressed, Abuse, Bullying, Nightmares, Death of Loved Ones (Past Memories), Fantasy Violence

I'm an ARC reader for the book, Bound by Prophecy, a fantasy mystery book written by Katherine Wheelwright, a first-time author.
The author kept things moving from the very beginning and I found myself not wanting to put the book down. I am a first time ARC reader, so I only know what I enjoy reading and what I don't.
My heart went out to Elandria trying to figure out her past and living in the same house with someone so unkind as her uncle. Then, when Drustan shows up so mysterious and not forthcoming, I was hooked!
Drustan is so different from anyone Elandria has known so far in her life. He has high moral standards, keeps his promises and values women more than anyone Elandria has met before.
You're past doesn't have to define who you are and who you can become. In reality you can choose what you do with what you are dealt in life.
There's room for character growth especially with Elandria who is only 18 and been a 'hermit' most all of her life. I'm so glad there will be a sequel!
Within the first chapter I could tell this was a fantasy mystery when Elandria's thoughts revealed foreign money, not knowing her past, and a land I've never heard of, Airidia.
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next in the series. It's a clean, well-written book that can be read by my tween/teenage grandchildren as well as young adults. We all can enjoy this moving story of fantasy, mystery and magic.
I've read it 3 times now, besides going over my favorite parts again and again! Of course there's a bit of romance, to me it makes it more fun. I kept looking at the map the 3rd time I read it to become more familiar with the world she created and where the story takes place.

Listen I was giggling and kicking my feet whilst reading this. I loved this book, I thought it was fantastic debut novel that combines great writing, good Worldbuilding and good characters. I was invested in this story and will be on the lookout for the next book in the series. What really impressed me the most was the strong sense of honour and character which Drustan had as well as really good prose. You can tell that Katherine really took the time to labour and hone her craft. Even though I received the ARC in a digital format the cover is stunning and I look forward to more books from her. 3/5 stars.
My rating system is as follows

4 Stars: Excellent book would happily defend in the comments
3 Stars: Good book and is recommended to everyone.

Alright, this is Katherine’s first book, and it delivers all the feels we crave in fantasy—magic, adventure, destiny, romance, and plenty of humor. The whole thing feels like cake and ice cream for your brain. The world‑building is excellent, the pacing steady, and the character development spot‑on. The romance is sweet, clean, and leaves you hoping for more, and her characters are genuinely funny.
It takes great courage to pour your heart and soul into a story and then share it with the world. Katherine’s heart, dedication, and effort shine through every page of this beautiful, engaging debut. It’s impressively well written and I feel deserves five stars.

I loved reading this book! Katherine’s writing was engaging and entertaining. I became so invested in the story that I couldn’t put it down and stayed up way too late to finish the book. I enjoyed taking the journey with her characters and I wasn’t ready for the book to end. I can’t wait to read the next one!

March 14, 2026DNF 😭 I tried to push through because the story did intrigue me. I felt like the dialogue was unnatural and was stilted. There was also a lot of telling and not showing. With fantasy I want to be pulled into the world and feel immersed in the story, and I wasn’t feeling that with this book.
I was sent a complimentary copy with no expectations for a favorable review.

This epic fantasy completely sucked me into a new world and I loved every second! I can’t recommend this book more highly if you enjoy adventure with some romance mixed in.
✨ What to expect:
• No spice, kisses only
• No strong language
• Content warnings: death, violence
✨ Meet the characters:
• FMC (Elandria)- survivor, inquisitive, loyal
• MMC (Drustan) – protective MMC running from his past, guards his heart, thinks he’s too messed up to be loved
✨ Tropes:
• Touch her and 💀
• Forced Proximity
• Banter
• Mysterious past
• Werewolves
• Hidden Identity
• Dual POV
I received a physical copy for an honest review and the review is my own thoughts.
