Uncle's Reward: A Taboo Age Gap Romance

Rate this book
A long time ago, I saved my niece’s life. When I return after many years away, I’m stunned that the girl I left behind is all grown up and gorgeous.

She thinks that I’m a good guy. Her hero uncle.
She’s wrong.
I crave her in ways I shouldn’t.

When my forbidden urges get too strong, when someone else tries to steal her from me, there’s no other choice but to take what I want by any means necessary.

Even if she’s unaware.
Even if she resists.

I walked through fire for her.
And it’s time I claimed my reward.

Uncle’s Reward is a spicy taboo age gap romance. It features a morally grey ex-military hero, a sweet heroine in jeopardy, power imbalance, push/pull tension, and ends with a HEA.

You all know how I feel about Neve. It’s borderline unhealthy how I gobble up these books. However, the quality speaks for itself. I just reviewed the morally grey version of this book and while it was fabulous this one had a little extra hint of fire. This was taboo in a way that some may find too much in polite society but that’s not what we are here for. We wanted this for the down and dirty. The instant lust that turned itself into love and the hidden affections that these two shared.

Malcolm should have known better, but I’ve learned when it comes to matters of the heart absence makes the heart fonder. so these two were supposed to be together in flip flopping cahoots. He just needed June to bloom into the woman she became so he could get her off like a missile. This book holds a special place in my heart just because I love a blue collar man especially the veteran variety.

Give me a war hero just a little broken looking for a whole lot of love and escape and I’ll show right on up. One day I’ll be less of a trip when it comes to this but that day won’t be anytime soon. In the case of this I don’t want to give anything away because you know the doggy dog. Go buy the book, go read it, get a little turned on and a little sad. Then make wonderful highlights and notes and throw them at us for later consumption!!

Nothing like trauma bonding... by fucking each other... oh, wait, but you're uncle and niece 🤭 oopsies
These types of stories only work when there is tension and denial- this had both so it worked *chefs kiss* 😚🤌🏾
Malcom and June haven't seen each other in a decade after a very traumatic event. The moment they see each other, the attraction is immediate. They fight it but it's inevitable. Talk about spicy 🥵 it's so wrong, why does it feel so right!!

Nox- I'm loving these longer books! Also, that surprise cameo from another couple was nice 😉 Now I'm wondering if Penny and Kevin will show up one day in their own story 🤔 👀

I received an advance review copy for free and I'm leaving this review voluntarily.

I have read several novella's by this author, and I love them dearly. This one was different, which was nice. The FMC had severe reservations and was reluctant to enter into any type of relationship with her uncle. She was also upset with herself for the feelings and urges she was having. All very normal feelings. The MMC was much more forward and pushy about what he wanted. I wish the MMC had been a little more pushy about his desire for the FMC because I felt there was something missing. For a taboo story (aside from the ince$t, of course), it didn't feel like the author pulled back to make it less taboo instead of pushing the envelope. But, that's just my personal opinion. I can't wait to read my next Neve Nox novella!

Nothing makes a taboo book better than a bit of tension and that back and forth pull of knowing this is wrong but doing what your heart tells you to do is so well done here. The story is about Mal and his niece June and how they come to realize their feeling for each other and their journey. I loved that we got a bit of a longer book and it felt very well rounded. Absolutely recommend!

While a quick read, the back and forth tension was good and I loved the slightly dark tone of it. Mal and June bonded after he saved her from a fire when she was a child and from there things just blossomed once Mal moves in with June when they are much older. Mal is absolutely obsessed and protective of June, which I adore! There is some some non/dub con and other triggers so make sure you read those as your mental health matters!

I love taboo romances and this book is perfect. I loved it so much. It was a shorter read I ate up. Mal was so obsessed with June and I need more.
