Professionally Edited July 1, 2017: Wade Garrison rode out of Harper, Colorado into the New Mexico Territory in 1872, believing he was riding away from a troubled past. Now, six years later, his old friend, Sheriff Seth Bowlen, in Sisters, Colorado is in trouble and needs help. Sheriff Bowlen sends a wire to United States Marshal Billy French in Santa Fe who in turn sends Deputy Marshal Wade Garrison to help their old friend. Innocently, Wade decides to take his wife, Sarah, and son, Emmett, with him so they can visit her family in Harper, a small town northeast of Sisters. As he and his family board the train in Santa Fe, he could not have known that a terrible storm of violence was already brewing and this fateful decision could destroy his wife and child.

Great characters and story however for me; the coffee ritual was over done in this tale. Crazy, I know! I am a coffee lover and how could this be? Take a read and you will understand.
I thought this book began well but it began to drag. Lots of extraneous action that doesn’t further the story and should be edited out. (Ie. He stood up.....he sat down....he went outside to pee....blah blah blah. ) The narrative needs to be tightened , even if it shortens the word length, to keep the story at a faster pace and hence, keep the reader interested. It ran out of steam for me.
A real good read and some realistic situations one would likely find in the old west.
Enjoyed the story plot with its twist and turns. Enough suspense that a reader will enjoy and likely be surprised at the events. An unusual revelation of the HARD reality when a man finds events taking him beyond himself............
Wade and Seth had to hunt down the men who shot a local man in Sisters. It was another of the Hochkins boys. The Hodgkin's father was seeking revenge against Wade and his family. They burned down Wade wife family ranch. Wade had to protect his family before his family was killed.
U S Deputy Marshall Wade Garrison is called into a situation he did not need to be in. The difficulty increases when his wife and son's lives are threatened and attacked, almost being killed. A very good story but to my distaste there is no closure, leaving you hanging..... thus there stars.
Loved this second book in this series! I still think all horse's and dog's need a name though. This one really leaves you wondering how he will ever get to be a marshal again!
An artistic description of determination and vengeance combined with deep family devotion. A true western page turner that will you looking forward to the next book in the Wade Garrison series.
What would you do in Wade Harrison's situation? The author described several solutions, all action packed cliff hangers! Fast paced story that kept me on the edge of my seat!
It's a good story, but hard to read in places where the wording and syntax are off. It's more than writing in the language of the story. The wrong words make me stop and breaks up the flow.
The tremendous number of punctuation marks are a major distraction, not to mention the typos and spelling Errors. come on, Mr. Greene, hire a proofreader!!
Very good book Very good series. Revenge. It’s destroyed lives in death and relationships. One man’s revenge let to wade Garrison revenge that leaves a wide path of death and destruction. Once the killing started it lead to even more and the loss of property then a massacre and destruction that just spread.
