I was so eager to read this book and unfortunately, the storyline let me down. I felt like crew and P had little to no Chemistry and she did some things in the other books that really rubbed me the wrong way. Based on how the last book ended, I thought P and Bria really had a chance, and I was taken back when her character got dwindled down to a jealous side piece so to speak, and crew just left her in the wind. I enjoyed all the books in this series, but this ending, and the twists and turns just felt more like a letdown. And I say that with all due respect and love, this book just didn’t do it for me..
Although I loved this book I really wanted Bria and Crew together. However I wanted to know who baby she was carrying. I have questions honestly I want her to get a book since she didn’t get the man. I didn’t feel a connection with Pernelle and Crew together.
I loved this series but the ending made no sense. Crew should have ended up with Bria. He had a bigger connection with her. He had a one night stand with Pernelle, didn’t see her in six months, she was pregnant. He knew it. He still was having sex with other women and developed a strong connection with Bria. He called her a breath of fresh air. Then Pernelle is kidnapped and has the baby and he falls out with Bria and then he wife Pernelle? They were not together for two whole books. The author just wanted a HEA and it should have been more realistic. Bria was the first woman he took home, meditated with, was shown actually kissing. Idk. Thats intimacy. Good book though.

Let’s be clear. Crew still stamped. Certified. Laminated. Filed under “Book Baes Who Don’t Need Redemption Arcs but Get Them Anyway.” He’s one of my favorite bad boys and that’s not up for debate.
But this installment? It felt… controlled.
There were highs. We definitely got depth. We saw layers of Crew that weren’t just ego and dominance. We saw vulnerability sliding through the cracks. We saw him trying. And I respect character growth. I do. But I came in ready for fireworks, not a safety briefing.
Gio had me emotionally invested. Heavy. The tension? Real. The chemistry? Undeniable. Meanwhile Crew was out here blind to the nonsense unfolding in front of him. Sir. The signs were blinking in neon. I wanted to shake him through the pages.
Pernelle naming that baby after Amir? That hit different. It felt symbolic, messy, sentimental, layered with unfinished emotions. But she was hard on Crew. Like tough-love-on-steroids hard. Sometimes it felt justified. Other times I was like, okay sis, ease up a notch. I stayed conflicted with her the whole time.
And Bria… baby. I knew from jump she wasn’t built for Crew. She was missing that fire. That backbone. The moment she ignored her intuition? I knew she was clocked out spiritually before she was ever dismissed physically. You can’t survive next to a man like Crew if you’re whispering when you need to roar.
I’m glad Hov and Crew got their happy endings. I love closure. But I had higher hopes for the storyline. I was expecting Cree to go out with a bang, some dramatic street symphony. Instead, his “bang” was growth. Emotional maturity. Self-awareness. Which is beautiful… but I was lowkey waiting on chaos with choreography.
This wasn’t bad. Not at all. It just felt predictable in spots. Like I could see the turns before the car made them.
Still solid. Still readable. Still Crew.
Now Amir’s story? That one better come with pressure. I need twists. I need tension. I need somebody’s heart and ego on the line.
Because if Amir steps in with smoke? I’m front row.
I love this series!!! Yall buckle up. Helmet on. Seatbelt nonexistent. Let’s ride. This finale was chaos with a capital C and I loved every unhinged second of it. Crew has always been that one for me the kind of character you know is bad news on paper but makes perfect sense once you understand his code. He’s reckless, dangerous, emotionally locked in and fiercely loyal to the people he claims as his own. This book forced him to finally stand in the wreckage of the life he chose and decide if he was going to drown in it or dominate it. Crew does what Crew does best. He survives. He protects. He goes to war. It's the toxicity in me that makes me love this man 😏
The stakes felt personal from page one. Pernelle being taken hit different because this wasn’t just street beef anymore, it was enemies aiming for his soul by targeting the people tied to his heart. Watching Crew spiral between rage, fear and responsibility was intense because you could feel how close he was to losing everything he claimed he wanted. This wasn’t glorified chaos. This was consequences knocking loudly.
Now let’s talk about the women because whew. Bria absolutely fumbled the bag and then tried to act confused about it. That move was snake behavior, point blank and Crew does not operate in that kind of disloyal space. Pretty P though I felt her fear deeply. What she went through was traumatic and her hesitation made sense. Crew’s response was raw, honest and exactly who he’s always been. That monologue wasn’t cruelty it was truth. "You thought being with a nigga like me was all money, chains, and diamonds and shit? Just a big dick and a big house, huh?" "Well, it's not! I am a gangsta, and my life is filled with gangsta shit. You decided to fuck with a gangsta like me, and I didn't make you." 🤏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾He never sold her a fantasy version of himself. He told her exactly what life with him was and he meant every word about his daughter. That scene cemented why Crew works for readers like me. He doesn’t pretend to be soft. He’s solid.
The ending gave closure without watering anything down. Married, kids, a future carved out of violence and devotion. It felt earned, not convenient. Lean in do you have that lingering question about Bria? Is that Crew's baby 👀 That felt intentional and unsettling in the way good urban fiction leaves you sitting with unanswered smoke.
This was a gritty, emotional, high stakes finale that stayed true to Crew’s character from beginning to end. If you love your MMCs flawed, dangerous, family obsessed and brutally honest Crew will always be that guy. It’s still CREW forever.

In my personal opinion, this finale was everything. The tables turned in the correct direction that I was hoping the story would go. It was like a bakery throughout this installment because a lot of unfolding happened. It was some harsh realities but some unveiling truths. The piercing love bug finally hit Crew in the right spot of his chest. Or maybe he came to his senses because he fell in love with a woman more than the streets. Ms. Pernelle finally gets a true happily ever after. She deserves it after all the turmoil she went through. My heart broke in two when she was abducted in the last installment. Ciara and Hov are still rolling until the wheels roll off the car. Their relationship is stronger than ever. And Cashmier, well, let's just say a zebra doesn't change his stripes. She is most definitely her father's child.
Black Lavish, you did your thing on this series. I have been fully invested from the first installment. I stumbled across it after I read another book. I am anticipating your next releases, especially since Amir is speaking. And Mr. Proctor has to tell his story. Ladies and gents, I am confirming that this series is straight fire. You will not be disappointed, so get into it, you will be roped in with the first book. Mr. Crew becomes a whole family man, imagine that.
Enjoyed the story! Although, I did feel like the ending was rushed. I LOVED that Crew and P ended up together. Not only because it wasn't predictable but because P matched his growth. She went from the "ghetto fake gay chick" to a grown, emotionally mature MUVA, investing and managing a household, and holding Crew down. People saying they had no chemistry but they had the same amount of interactions as he and Bria. Bria was a nutcase with no backbone- she and Marcus deserved eachother.
Love Ciara and Hov 👏🏽 she's meek and feminine and in her soft girl era. Loving on her man and her man loving on her. Enough said.
Crew's mama... a big dummy 🙄 She annoyed me so bad 👏🏽 I'm surprised he let Elijah live and but I was happy to read that.
You can NEVER go wrong when it’s about Crew or Hov!!!…I thoroughly enjoyed this series and I hope it’s not the end for them!!!… Amir came through and I was happy he got Pernelle out of that house because my blood was boiling like I knew her!!!… I was happy that Hov and Ciara finally got their baby and they stood strong with each other after their loss!!!… Gio was getting on my nerves, but I’m glad he was honest about who he was, A SNAKE!!!… Cashmere finally got what she was chasing, time away from home!!!…Babyyyy, she was moving like nobody would touch her and did not know when to just sit down!!!…
This story was so rushed. I’m confused on how Crew ended up with P because honestly they had no chemistry. Once she had the baby it was like yall together now. Then they are apparently in love. It all happened so quick. Based off the first book it looked like he would end up with Bria. That didn’t happen idk I didn’t really care for Crews story. I also haven’t cared for P since Hov and Ciara’s story. This couple makes no sense and the only real connection was them having a baby. We get told about everything else.
Omg Crew is so unhinged but he's not as off as Cash and Bria!! Sheesh Cash was just a doorknob! She knew who that baby's daddy was all along she was trying to ruin the friendship between Crew and Hov. Crew put that 🔥 on Bria because sis went crazy and he wouldn't even be more than friends with her at that point. Pernelle made me proud standing her ground by making Crew show her something real or she was going to explore her options. I love Hov and Ciara's love 😍
You did that Black Lavish. The Slim Reaper came around full circle. That Gio I could've knocked him on the ground myself. Still being the snake. Mama Debbie thought she was doing a good thing. She was happy. Cashmere is just crazy, doing dumb stuff. And Abria finally figured out how she needed to beat Marcus at his own game. Finally Pernell found her some peace and happiness with Crew and her kids. Hov and Crew are back together enjoying retirement, but they added Amir to the team so we know we getting ready for another treat.
First things first, Bria sis, you coo? She became deranged over Crew. I’m glad she did what she did in the end, but sis was real deal cray. I absolutely knew Crew and Pretty P were gonna end up together. It just made sense. Crew definitely became a man after his daughter was born. He changed changed into the family man Hov wanted him to be. Speaking of Hov, I’m so happy for him and Ciara. They finally got what I’ve been wanting for them since On Everything. On Me was a great series. I told yal I could never hate Crew. It ended just as I needed.
Really enjoyed Crew story, I was kinda scared for my girl Pernelle. Crew really became the man and father he needed to be. My boy Princeton healed and got a boo. I knew that something was up in very 1st book with Hov and Crew being so close, same height, similar build. The connection made apparent. We got introduced to Amir Quatar who will be featured in his own book. Wonder if this “Crew” will make appearances in next book. Was a really great read and I was not disappointed with this book.
I was really glad to see Crew and Pernelle end up together. Bria and Crew were never going to work — she was just a good time, and the moment she turned off that alarm, it was a wrap for her. And yes, I definitely want to know who her baby daddy is. If you do the math from the months it’s likely to only be Marcus’s baby.
I knew Tech was going to turn out to be King’s father… the signs were all there.
I was glad to see Hov and Ciara had a baby finally.
Overall, I really enjoyed this entire series.📚🔥

That darn Crew…. He is the real deal 🥷 ! He got his life together. He realized what Hov was talking about. Gio was 🚮 Glad Amir found him. Set up your own son. He was truly a snake. I’m glad Amir helped save P. Bria looked out too. I didn’t think she’d help Crew. I’m glad Ciara and Hov finally had them a baby. I love this little family! Ready for Amir’s story now ☺️
Honestly how this book ended was a let down. I’m somewhat disappointed with how Crew didn’t get his happy ending with Bria especially since they had a stronger connection than he had with Prenellea. Like I stop engaging after Bria was basically disregarded in the worst way. I felt cheated of a good love story. P was annoying throughout this entire series. Still a good series to read but it just fell flat towards the end.
Omg this series is lit. My boy Crew went through a little some some, but I’m glad he came out good. I’m glad my girl sob made it out ok. Gio got what he deserved. I would love to have a holiday update on this crew. U did good on yet another book and I’m looking forward to reading more of them. Sitting here patting my feet while sipping on Pepsi and while eating popcorn while waiting on the next book to read
I kinda felt like this was rushed because I also feel like alot was left unsaid. I am happy Crew was able to find that love he didn't expect. Prenelle was the MVP for what she went through and how she handled everything when Crew went to jail. Like we don't even know who Bria baby belongs too because it could either be Crew's or Marcus. That darn Cashmere is STUPIDDDDDDDDDDD. Okay read
Crew stays doing the wrong things for the right reasons, and that protective energy kept the stakes sky-high. However, the highlight was definitely seeing the evolution of Crew and Pernelle. They’ve both grown so much, and watching them mature through the chaos was beautiful. Even with constant secrets dropping and threats emerging, their growth felt real. I’m satisfied with how it ended for the whole squad.
This book was exactly what I needed to finish off this series. Watching Crew grow up and take responsibility was so refreshing, and choosing love, especially with Pretty P, finally putting a smile on my face, was especially refreshing. I'm happy Hov and Ciara got a second chance to be parents!!! And Marcus and Gio for what they deserve!!! Overall great story!!!
I always love Black Lavish's storytelling, but this second edition gave everything you want in a finale. The character's growth through this series would have to be one of my favorites. This book gave romance, crime, family bond, loyalty, and comedic relief just made the book top tier. I can't wait for Amir's story.
Crewshon Myers went through a little bit of everything in his story. There were liars and snakes everywhere, there was even a clown! Crew was back on good terms with his homie Hov, but life was throwing so much at him at once, he didn't know which way to turn.
Now I know you didn’t leave us hanging like that I wanted to meet Messiah lol but I’m glad crew got the happiness he deserved and dumb ssa gio didn’t learn his lesson but he got to meet karma in the end I can’t wait to see what you have in store for Amir and I thought for sure Bria baby was crew’s great job thanks again for giving us another banger see you soon
Man this family keep me so invested crew really that guy as well look how is donor in cashmier turned out Karma a bitch . Really crazy how hov ciara came a long way in they’re journey though I though lt was done for crew I was so overjoyed Bria did the rite thing Forsure respect for that…this book a page turner
This was such a good read! Cashmere’s crazy as ever but one thing she is , is determined lol I love the complete 180 crew did with his life and settled down. I got my end game with pretty p and crew! Happy about that all in all this book was great with some action , romance, and redemption sprinkled with growth I would 100% recommend!
I love the characters Hov and Crew. Both very dangerous men but love gently. I was pleased with the ending for Crew that makes him whole as a man. I was upset that I had a waiting period for book 2. You authors be killing your readers with that sequel nonsense!
I loved this series so much. I finished Book 4 on Christmas so I was waiting around until t his one came out. I went back and read the series again in case I forgot something and it was so good. Black Lavish is an amazing author and her writing style gives everything, comedy, drama and petty.
When I started reading the first book of this series I almost DNFd it just because I was tired of reading about the rich dope boy saving the struggling FMC. I said because it was kind of short I would at least read the first book. But babyyyy this series had so much drama I just had to see it through and I’m so glad I did! G Can’t wait for Amir’s story!
whew! I loved everything about this finale. The growth of crew was everything. He realized Pretty P was it for him. I’m glad Bria got Marcus with his own snake stuff. he was horrible. Crew and Hov brotherhood stronger and tru family. Gio got what he deserved. Cashmere was bound for jail. I really felt bad for King.
