My life was a color-coded masterpiece—until Daniel Knox crashed my meeting. I was hired to execute a last-minute luxury wedding. Now, this cynical tech mogul thinks I’m running a scam. He’s convinced his brother’s sweet fiancée is a gold-digger. But his sights are fixed on me. Mr. Tall, Dark, and Rude is all sharp tailoring and sharper judgment. He’s an arrogant shark who uses his money like a weapon. My internal don’t stab him with the laser pointer. I should hate him for stalking my work and challenging my every move. I definitely hate him for that mouth. I swore I’d never fall for a man who could buy and sell my entire company. But one late-night truce at his penthouse shattered all my rules. When he betrayed my trust, I should have walked away for good. He may think I’m just another woman chasing his wallet... ...but I’m about to show Daniel Knox exactly what I’m worth. Too bad he’s not the only one who refuses to lose.
Daniel’s I built my empire by knowing who to trust—and who to eliminate. Gail Winslet is meant to be eliminated. The wedding planner is a firecracker in ballet flats, armed with snark and emerald eyes sharp as broken glass. She ignores my money and refuses my charm. A novelty in a city full of gold-diggers, but she’s hiding something big. My brother is naive, and I'll protect him from Sofia’s hustle, no matter the cost. Gail’s little startup pitch puts her directly in the line of fire. I never should have let her into my bed. Her body fit mine perfectly; her kiss tasted like sweet oblivion. But passion doesn't cancel due diligence. I pushed her away to protect myself—and now she hates me. I might be terrified of giving her my heart, but I’ll stop at nothing to win her back. I ruined everything, but a Knox doesn't run from a fight—or from forever. Gail Winslet thinks she’s immune to my love, but I’m about to prove her wrong. Can a cynical billionaire and a defiant planner survive one simple wedding long enough to admit they’re soulmates? Find out in this intense Enemies-to-Lovers, Billionaire Romance.
I liked Gail's character. She is easy going yet completely driven to save enough money to start her own event planner business. When she is asked to handle a last minute wedding for an extremely wealthy family, she hopes it will help her realize her dreams faster. Although he definitely has reason to mistrust women and question their motives, he does take it over the top! He will do anything sabotage and stop his brother's wedding to a woman he believes is just after his money. His heart is in the right place but his methods are pretty sketchy and down right insulting! I thought Gail was a little bit hard on Daniel, especially once she learned about his past. I loved the part where they got locked in the gazebo. This story held my attention thru out the book and I couldn't help but root for Daniel. I loved his mama, I'd love to spend some time with her in her kitchen. Pretty good book!
A totally relatable story. The emotions, the good, the bad and the funny make each character an endearing personality. Daniel is a self made billionaire, literally, from real poverty to ultimate luxury. One thing in his favor, his mom seems to help keep him real when it comes to his feelings. Especially when he runs across his brothers wedding co-ordinator, Gail. She is unlike anyone he has come across. She is strong and secure in her business decisions and has an attitude that shreds any of Daniels snipes with out blinking. Two type A personalities clashing makes this book a page turner. I have to mention the quotable phrases that Thea Roman has created. One example is "luxury was just loneliness with better upholstery" is just one phrase of wisdom she has created. I rarely read a book more than once, but I tell you, I will be reading this book more than once, especially when I need that feel good moment.
If you like enemies to lovers troupes, you'll love this book. From the first meeting, Gail and Daniel were at each other's throats. She was the wedding planner for his brother Rick and fiance Sofia. Daniel was convinced she was a gold digger. Daniel was a self-made tech billionaire who was an intense control freak. He had his heart broken by gold diggers and was very suspicious of women. The banter between Gail and Daniel was intense, quick witted and hilarious at times. Their chemistry was off the charts. Things take a turn when she discovers that he's had her investigated and filed a complaint with her company. Emotional baggage, broken hearts, drama filled and an abundance of angst. A page turner that you won't want to put down. His mother and grandmother were so wise and precious. You'll love the HEA.I received a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to review it.
Daniel Knox is obsessed with more than just the tempting wedding planner Gail Winslet. His obsession extends to distrusting all women and trying to prove their deception and calculating ways. This character is filled with egotism and arrogance and nearly destroys his brothers wedding by believing his beautiful sweet fiancé has a plan to undermine his brother’s future. Thank goodness the FMC Gail is a string determined and formidable woman. Although I must confess to being seriously agitated with her when she swoons and succumbs to Daniel’s magnetically charged personality. Really wanted to slap the back of her head. 🫢 The side characters in this book are what drew me into the story. Daniel’s family is superb. Gail’s friend as well. The story tends to lag a bit in the beginning but hang in there cuz it ramps up to good reading.
I LOVED the story line. The differences between the brothers was nice. It was a rough start where I felt like Daniel was a massive stereotype. He did develop a personality throughout the book which I was thankful for.
I did struggle a little figuring out which point of view we were in, I think clarification at the beginning of each chapter would be helpful but that's my only critique

the characters were enjoyable. Daniel was a predictable alpha-hole type but was warmed by his surrounding familial characters who tried to keep him grounded. He did have a huge chip on his shoulder which leads to the round about conflict with the FMC. Gail was fine; I appreciated her ambition and confidence. I liked Ma and Abuela, they were sweet. Overall a solid read.
