About the author

Tracey West is the New York Times bestselling author of Dragon Masters, a series in the Scholastic Branches line. She has written more than 400 books for kids, including the Pixie Tricks series and the Underdogs series with Kyla May.

Some readers also know Tracey for writing books based on animation such as Pokémon and LEGO Ninjago.

She currently lives in the western Catskills of New York with her husband, Bill; their adopted dogs; and a whole mess of chickens.

My young reader loved this. It was short enough to hold her attention and had drawings on every page. The story was cute and engaging. This was a great early chapter book for kids.

Very cute book, good for a first chapter book since it still has pictures on every page. I wasn't as engaged though because I wasn't as interested in dragons, but if you are its great.

I think this book is good for students as they transition from picture books to chapter books. I don't have strong feelings about it and will likely keep it in my future classroom library.
