About the author

Steve Barr

Steve Barr began his cartooning career when he was in fourth grade and drew Mickey Mouse on his classroom desk. Eventually, he realized that it was way more effective (and FAR less trouble) to sketch on paper.

By the time he reached fifth grade, he had begun creating his own comic books and selling them to his classmates for their lunch money. Apparently, Barr was quite successful in his efforts, because most of his classmates are still skinny and he's a bit chubby.

He sold his first cartoon to a magazine in seventh grade, and another that same year to a nationally syndicated newspaper feature. And he's been selling his silly drawings ever since.

In an attempt to share the fun and joy he's experienced throughout his life, Steve Barr has created quite a few books that teach young children (and adults) how to draw cartoons of their very own.

His latest, "Draw Crazy Creatures" has just been released by IMPACT books. "Draw Amazing Animals" will be hitting the bookstores in the fall.

He's also the author of eleven books in the "1-2-3 Draw" series from Peel Productions.
