The Alien Warrior's Valentine
On a struggling alien vineyard, the only thing harder than surviving is letting someone get close.
Mariska
I have two years to make this work, and time is running out. The cozy small town is scary when the Aderians are all empaths who seem to know your innermost thoughts.
I came to Llykhe to escape, to find myself again. The vineyard granted to me by the Aderians is supposed to be my salvation, even if it’s rundown and the machines are failing. I have space, but not the privacy I came for.
Then there’s Jeltom. Grumpy and silent, he’s not your typical Aderian empath. When I ask him for help, he actually says no. With Valentine coming, I wonder if explaining a human holiday and asking him to share it is brave or foolish.
Jeltom
I hadn’t come home to fall for anyone. After being shot, I want familiar air, quiet nights, and absolutely no responsibilities. Then Mariska crosses my path, human and shy like a skittish animal.
Giving her my help when she needs it is easy. It feels like the purpose I’ve been searching for all my life.
When she mentions a custom called Valentine, a strange human ritual, I don’t understand it, but I want to. Not for tradition’s sake, but for hers. This human might just be the one thing my people have forgotten how to my fated mate.
The Alien Warrior’s Valentine is a standalone Valentine-themed steamy sci-fi romance featuring a scarred alien warrior searching for home, and a traumatized human looking for peace. This is a story of love and redemption. It’s cozy, sweet, with a little action and a whole lot of romance.

Mariska and Jeltom . . .
Needing a new start, Mariska has two years to make a success of the run down alien vineyard on Llykhe that the Aderians granted her, but time is running out and her harvester pressing machine has stopped working. To complicate things, her first harvest failed, producing acidic wine for some reason; so this was her late season chance to succeed. She definitely needs help, so she heads to the local bar to ask Avertom for assistance in finding someone who could repair the old machine. Although she had assumed the bar was empty, Avertom pointed a finger at a figure she hadn't noticed slouched in a booth at the back of the saloon. She meets grumpy Jeltom who only wants to be left alone to deal with his own troubles. At first he says no to her request to fix her machine. She is delighted to find a "rude" Aderian and is certain he is the one who should help her. But realizing she was human and knowing there will be other dangers she may be facing, he reluctantly agrees to help.
Her friend Jessica contacts her to chat and when she sounds evasive about hiring Jeltom, she knew Mariska had feelings of some kind starting. Jessica urges her to ask him out, and Valentine's Day is the perfect choice. When she invites him to celebrate Valentine's Day with her, will he accept? Will sharing this Earth custom bring them together and allow him to discover his fated mate is actually not a myth?

I really enjoyed getting to read Jeltom's story after having briefly met him in Claimed by the Alien Mercenary and I thought him & Mariska made a great couple. Getting to read how Jeltom & Mariska's relationship comes together was fun and his Valentine's Day planning was so sweet. The epilogue at the end was also a lot of fun. I look forward to reading more stories set in this world and maybe even getting to read a story about Avertom in the future.

Short, and sweet. Jeltom is protective, and all he wants is to make Mariska's dreams come true. She's a grump at the beginning, but as the story progresses, she opens up more and realizes Jeltom's quiet prescence is what makes her feel safe enough to be herself. it was nice, a little spicy and with cameos from some of the Varakartoom's crew. There's also some action.

A broken vineyard. A scarred warrior. A bond neither expected.
Mariska has two years to save a failing alien vineyard and prove she deserves the sanctuary she fought to survive for. Surrounded by empaths who sense every crack in her armor, she keeps her head down and her heart locked tight. Then Jeltom walks into her life, gruff, scarred, and impossible to ignore, and surviving alone suddenly feels a lot less safe than falling for him.
Jeltom comes home to escape responsibility, not to want a human woman who looks at him like he is more than a weapon. Fixing her machines should be simple. It becomes personal. The closer he gets, the deeper the ache under his skin grows, until protecting her stops being a task and starts feeling like instinct.
When a human holiday called Valentine pushes them to face what is building between them, restraint snaps. Desire turns urgent. Touch becomes necessary. But as they lean into the heat, shadows from his past creep closer, threatening the fragile future they are only just beginning to imagine.
Mariska starts guarded and fiercely independent, determined to survive alone, but she slowly softens as she allows herself to need and trust without losing herself. Jeltom begins as a withdrawn, wounded warrior craving quiet, yet through loving her he rediscovers purpose and emotional depth. Their connection shifts from wary attraction to a bond driven by instinct, choice, and protective devotion, where dominance and tenderness exist in balance.
Ultra-steamy and emotionally grounded, this alien human romance centers on forced proximity, fated intensity, and two stubborn survivors fighting to save a farm and themselves. It’s about healing without surrendering autonomy, choosing partnership over isolation, and building a home that feels earned.
The Elevator Pitch: A guarded human fighting to save her failing alien vineyard collides with a scarred warrior who only wants solitude, but their uneasy partnership ignites something neither can ignore. As instinct and desire tighten into a bond that feels written beneath the skin, survival turns into something far more dangerous: hope. In a quiet town where everyone senses weakness, two wounded souls must decide whether love is a risk worth claiming.
Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

Mariska is a human refugee carrying more emotional weight than she ever deserved. She isn’t searching for grand adventure… she’s searching for peace. The struggling vineyard she’s been granted on the planet Llykhe represents independence, safety, and the chance to rebuild herself piece by fragile piece. But living among empathic aliens who can sense emotions she’d rather keep buried is terrifying.
Enter Jeltom.
Grumpy. Scarred. Quiet. Not an empath in a race that should be—which means he’s always felt a little out of place. After being shot and sent home to recover, all he wants is solitude and stillness.
Instead, he finds Mariska.
Their connection grows slowly, gently, and organically. No instant fireworks—just two wounded souls recognizing safety in each other. Jeltom helping on her land, fixing broken machines, and finding purpose in small, meaningful tasks was incredibly endearing. He doesn’t try to “fix” Mariska. He simply shows up.
And when she explains Valentine’s Day?
His desire to understand the holiday—not for tradition, but because it matters to her—is pure romance.
This novella balances sweetness, steam, and emotion beautifully. It’s tender without being dull, spicy without overpowering the heart, and threaded with themes of healing, belonging, and second chances.
I especially loved:
Mariska’s determination to stand on her own
Jeltom’s quiet longing to matter
The cozy vineyard setting
The gentle, hopeful Valentine’s theme
While The Alien Warrior’s Valentine works perfectly as a standalone, longtime fans of the Monster Mercenary Mates series will be thrilled to see Jeltom step into the spotlight after his appearance in Claimed by the Alien Mercenary. And if you’re new to the series? Prepare to fall down a very happy alien-shaped rabbit hole.
Robin O’Connor consistently delivers immersive worlds, engaging characters, interconnected storylines, and just the right amount of steam—and this novella is no exception.
If you love cozy sci-fi romance, scarred alien heroes, resilient human heroines, and love stories built on kindness and choice, this one is a must-read.

I Have Just Fallen In Love!
The Alien Warrior's Valentine is a wonderful novella set within the Monster Mercenary Mates series. It can absolutely be read as a standalone as it has its own storyline and HEA with a cute Valentine’s Day theme but…
I recommend reading this series from the beginning! These books are too good to miss; the adventure never stops, the characters are engaging and the friends and foes are unique and entertaining. The secondary characters are always just as intriguing as the main characters. Jeltom, the main male character here was a secondary character in Claimed by the Alien Mercenary and I was thrilled he got his own story!
There was definitely a back story to a few characters here in The Alien Warrior's Valentine and reading from the series beginning will only enhance your enjoyment.
All of Robin O’Connor’s books are well written, have plenty of adventure, overall series arcs that enhance each story and the perfect amount of steamy action!
If you are looking for the ultimate binge read I put a reading order recommendation below. Some time frames slightly overlap and different characters, events and exciting plots lines like to pop into each other’s books for a visit and that makes it so much fun and the ultimate alien journey, so this is my suggestion!
1. Prequel novella, Gladiator’s Sanctuary, I received this for free on Robin’s website.
2. The Gladiators of the Vagabond series; read in order.
3. Three holiday themed novellas; There’s An Alien Down My Chimney, There’s An Elf In My Cockpit and Spy You Next Year; These all take place in the same universe!
4. Taken by the Gargoyle King; a novella related to the Gladiators series.
5. The Naga Hunter’s Lost Mate; prequel to the Serpents of Serant series.
6. The Serpents of Serant series; read in order.
7. Protected by the Alien Mercenary; is part of the My Monster, My Protector series but feels like an introduction to Robin’s Monster Mercenary Mates series.
8. The Monster Mercenary Mates series; read in order and don’t forget to read The Alien Warrior's Valentine after Claimed by the Alien Mercenary!

This story surprised me in the best way.
What makes The Alien Warrior’s Valentine stand out is that this isn’t just a wounded warrior falling for a human woman — it’s two deeply traumatized people trying to survive on their own… and slowly realizing they don’t have to.
Mariska is human, living far from her Earth colony, determined to carve out a life without relying on anyone. The whole town knows she needs help, but they refuse to step in until she asks — and that detail mattered to me. It reinforces autonomy and strength. When she finally reaches out, Jeltom reluctantly agrees to help.
Jeltom is both a wounded warrior and a wounded scientist, back home to figuratively lick his wounds. He’s not swaggering or dominant when we meet him. He’s tired. Guarded. Healing. And that makes his evolution throughout the story even more meaningful.
Neither of them understands the pull between them at first. When Jeltom reaches out to Dani and discovers they’re fated mates, the reveal is handled in the most precious way. It’s not possessive. It’s not overwhelming. It feels intentional. He chooses her — and then proceeds to show up for her in every way possible.
What I loved most:
Two trauma survivors finding softness together
A protective hero who prioritizes her comfort and safety
Devotion shown through actions, not just biology
A heroine who maintains her independence
The external threat adds tension, especially when Jeltom must protect Mariska from those hunting him, but the emotional healing is really the heart of this story.
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Moderate heat — intimate, emotional, and well-earned without overpowering the plot.
This is a tender, protective, emotionally grounded sci-fi romance that leans more into healing and devotion than dominance. I would have loved just a little more depth in a few areas, which is why it’s a solid 4 stars for me — but it absolutely delivers on heart.
⭐ 4/5 Stars

Mariska took refuge on Llykhe after waking up in a world that is not only from her time but also not of her world. She's desperate to make a go at farming on her homestead. Its been a yr and still she feels like nothing is going her way. After her first failed batch at wine making, she wants to get the second one right. Only the press machine is broken. She needs help, but doesn't want to be a burden. However, she doesn't want to lose another year's harvest, so she finally musters up the courage and asks the tavern owner for a recommendation on a handyman to help with repairs. When she first approaches Jeltom, she thought she'd get the same empathetic Aderian, but what she gets is a grumpy male. Which is a breath of fresh air for her so this pushes her to not take no for an answer.
When Jeltom was first approached, he didn't care about anyone or anything. He just wanted to wallow in peace. But when the lovely voice didn't want to leave him alone. He finally lifted his head and was struck speechless by what or who saw. Because she didn't take no for an answer, he agreed to help her. Only when he heard where she was living and saw the state of how much she needed help. He knew right away that he will help her with repairing more than just the press.
For a novella, it packs quite a punch. I absolutely LOVE that he takes the time to learn human customs. Yes, this is a valentine story however, you get some suspense and action. You also get some questions answered as to what happened to Jeltom after being shot. The shock of who shows up, and what happens to them was icing on the lovely heart-shaped brownies. 😉😍🥰 Again as cute and romantic as the story is, you also get so much more! 🥰🥰.

The Alien Warrior’s Valentine by Robin O’Connor
Holiday Specials
~ Grumpy human in need of mechanic – Grumpy alien takes the job ~ Fated mates that so deserved their happy ending ~
What I liked:
* Mariska: human, difficult childhood, independent, guarded, starting anew in space, has two years to improve her homestead, has difficulty asking for help, survivor, attracted to Jeltom
* Jeltom: Aderian, ex-military, wounded while working with a research group, has had two previous professions, back home to plan, attracted to Mariska, protective, strong, capable, and caring
* The Valentine theme and how it played out in this story
* The way Jeltom was able to fix so much on the homestead and also see what needed to be done as he started thinking that he might have found his “home”
* Avertom: Jeltom’s cousin, owner of the Laughing Nia Saloon, empathic, helpful, someone that should get a book of his own
* Remembering characters from the previous book that Jeltom was in and catching a glimpse of how they are doing
* The side story of the threat to the couple and how it was handled
* The supporting characters: Mariska’s friend Jess, Danitalin-scientist, Jeltom’s parents
* Escaping from my everyday life and thinking about the idea of whether or not there might be aliens and if they would be compatible with humans
What I didn’t like:
* The return of Koratalin, crime lord, and her plans for Jeltom and Mariska
* Thinking about how difficult Mariska’s life must have been
* Having to say goodbye
Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

In particular if you’ve read the other books by Robin set with the crew of the Varakartoom, and especially if you read the latest in that series with Dani and her mate, Claimed By The Alien Mercenary….But even if you haven’t…. This WAS AWESOME!!!!!
It was sweet, and alien, and a little cutely awkward at times, but also with some action and excitement, a lot of tenderness, some amazing sexy times….an awesome bunch of characters…. And the perfect length to get into the good stuff AND have a good story without me taking forever to read it🤩🤗🥰😍
I absolutely LOVED Mariska’s determination to claim her own little piece of the world and make a safe haven for herself…. Even if it wasn’t working…a lot through no real fault of her own.
Jeltom is just perfect….at a little bit of a loss as to what to do with himself after a harrowing experience, a little different than most of his Aderian counterparts who are extremely empathic…but he follows his gut and his heart when his cousin points the local human in need of help to his table…. And when he meets Mariska….he’s so taken with her…. He’s not even sure why at first….but he drives right in…determined not to leave her side🥰🥰🥰 He’s patient, protective, very handy, with a curious and inquisitive mind, determined…. And of course increasingly smitten with Mariska.
It was really well written with great character development, some humor, a lot of love😍😍😍
I can’t say enough about how remake this was to read🤗🤗🤗🤩🤩🤗🤗🤗.

It was a very cute story, it took me a long time to realise he was Dani's friend from the Mercenaries series, he seemed "grumpier" in this but also so sweet to his love. I liked the fated mates symptoms, more Aderian lore, but it'd been cool to see Dani experience symptoms in her own story (though she maybe did but she was already burned out and exhausted through her adventure, maybe she did but didn't notice at the time). I also enjoy his interactions with Dani, since he doesn't seem to have many friends, and that the couple get to bond with the mercenaries for the weeding ... but the crime lord intervention was a bit much and a bit crazy to say something so important to your enemy, you'd think she could use the fated mates thing against you, I get that it was to convince her but still, it could have went so badly. It was also weird how Mari just disappeared after trying to ask him out for Valentine's Day ... Like I was sure she was going to take something inside or maybe compose herself a few minutes buy it semmed she went for a long time and it just felt a bit weird.
Anyway, it was a really nice and sweet "spin-off".

The Alien Warrior's Valentine: A Sci-Fi Valentine Tale by Robin O’Connor is a delightful blend of sci-fi adventure and heartfelt romance. Even as a shorter holiday special, it delivers emotional depth, strong chemistry, and that irresistible fated-mate intensity readers crave.
The alien warrior hero is protective, powerful, and surprisingly tender beneath his formidable exterior. I loved how his devotion unfolded — not just through grand gestures, but through quiet, meaningful moments that made the romance feel genuine. The heroine complements him beautifully, bringing warmth and humanity that softens and strengthens him at the same time.
The Valentine theme adds a charming layer to the story, balancing sweetness with passion. It’s fast-paced without feeling rushed, and the world-building, though concise, still feels immersive and vivid.
If you enjoy possessive but loving alien warriors, fated connections, steamy tension, and a romance that leaves you smiling, this is a perfect quick escape. Ideal for fans of sci-fi romance who want something festive, emotional, and satisfying.

✨ARC Review✨
This is my first book by Robin O’Connor and I am hooked!
First off, the story reminded me a lot of Married to the Alien Cowboy, which is a huge compliment because I absolutely LOVED that book. The vibe is pretty similar: human woman escaping her past and starting over on an alien planet slowly falls for a cautious but interested alien male helping her out while the two learn how to understand each other and their differences.
Jeltom was my favorite part of the story because how could he not be? Quiet, protective, a little grumpy, and very much the type to show he cares through actions instead of words – the epitome of a perfect alien mate! The romance was a bit more of a slow burn than I usually prefer and the beginning took me a little while to fully get into, but once the story found its rhythm, I was so invested. The payoff ended up being worth it for me because their relationship felt earned instead of rushed and I loved the happy ending!
Very sweet, a little emotional, and definitely romantic – great pick if you enjoy alien romance with healing themes, protective MMCs, and cozy moments mixed in with some spice and action.

4.5 stars. This novella is dual POV, well written and edited, and a mostly sweet, sci fi romance between Mariska, the female human refugee lead who is desperately trying to establish a vineyard so she can be independent and safe, and Jeltom, the male alien warrior/scientist lead who is not an empath, though he was born in a race that should be, and is currently “recovering” from events in the author’s story ‘Claimed by the Alien Mercenary’ (this story stands alone). I adored Mariska’s determination to be independent, and empathised with her uncertainty around empaths. I enjoyed Jeltom’s joy in finding someone else who was not empathic, that he felt more balanced around, as well as his enjoyment of tasks to complete on Mariska’s land. I enjoyed the building relationship. I thought the non-romance plot was almost unnecessary, though it did expedite the romance. I adored Jeltom’s cousin, especially his cheerful matchmaking, and I hope the author writes a story for him.

Perfect for Valentine's or any time of the year, this standalone story will warm your heart. I loved both Mariska and Jeltom. Each had a traumatic past.
We learn a little about Jeltom's past with the last book Claimed by the Alien Mercenary, where he was shot. Deciding to go back home to recover physically and mentally. But the past seems to not want to give up . And trouble is around the corner affecting Mariska. I loved how he was protective even though he did say no to helping her at first. The chemistry is off the charts. I loved the Pyra and Pato story. So fitting.
I loved the Earth customs that Jeltom was willing to research and made possible. Following everything perfectly.
POV of each , loved the action and suspense and the mysteries. Well written with just the right amount of spice to the eventual romance. And of course with all Valentine's stories the perfect HEA for them.

Desperate to make a go of the disastrous grape-like farming homestead she’s been unsuccessfully working for over a year, Mariska takes a chance one day and asks her favorite (read: only) Aderian tavern owner for a handyman to repair her ancient press. What she gets is a surly, very non-empathetic Aderian who’s more than capable, and also maddeningly attractive.
When we last caught up with Jeltom, he narrowly survived a horr!f!c gsw as he worked with a team of scientists under intense pressure. While his team leader and fellow Aderian Dani found her mate and HFN, not much was disclosed to the reader about Jeltom. Turns out this wounded warrior contains multitudes, and he’s decided petite and curvaceous human Mariska is all his, but it’ll require some serious convincing.
This is a steamy and sweet novella from the wonderful mind of author Robin O’Connor.

I so loved every single moment of this read!! Nothing better than curling up with your coffee and reading this amazing book. I loved how the author brought us full circle and answered so many questions that had been left in my mind from the last Mercenary book. This couple so were perfect for one another especially as the fact they were both grouchy in their own ways was what brought them together in the first place. I had to laugh that was the best way for them to meet. The action so rounded this out to make for a better ending and made the story so much more interesting and the way these two came together made for such a heartwarming read!! I have to say Robin has so made me a big fan of hers through her mercenary series and now that I have gotten to branch out to her other reads I so can't wait to see what else she has planned. This is a must read you won't be disappointed and a perfect Valentines story.

Mariska came to the planet Llykhe looking for a fresh start at her own rundown alien vineyard. Her journey and worries are relatable; she isn’t looking for someone to rescue her, she just wants peace and a chance to prove she can survive on her own.
Jeltom carries physical and mental scars from when he was gravely injured (this happened in Claimed by the Alien Mercenary, but this story can still be read standalone). He is grumpy, silent, and gruff, but his rough exterior hides a male who needs a place to belong.
Their chemistry is immediate, but both are cautious and dealing with past trauma. I enjoyed how their connection grew from mutual wariness to a loving bond that is both sweet and steamy. Jeltom's need to care for and protect Mariska is adorable and heartwarming. Watching them find their place with each other makes for a satisfying read.

Living on a planet as a human on a farm to survive is interesting. The problem is that the produce and the machinery that comes with the farm is not sufficient enough to do what she needs to do. She needs to fix the machine. This is where the alien Warrior for one of our previous books in this series comes into her adventure. Mariska needs help. And so this Warrior who has empathic lineage is a retired and knows how to fix things. So this is how their adventure begins. We have a villain who is seeking a way to be negative in this positive environment. There is a little action when Jeltom comes to the rescue. There is a slow understanding of what Valentine's means from Earth to this new planet Llykhe. Funny? Yes. Interesting absolutely. It continuous in the series with Miss O'Connor. Love the book. Can't wait to see the new addition that she might have coming out. Very good read.

SUCH a cute short Valentine’s Day themed read!
If you love a good alien trope Robin O’Connor is exceptional at writing shorter stories filled with alien goodness.
This standalone focuses on Jeltom (our MMC) and Mariska (our FMC) - jeltom was seen as a side character in a different series by the author however it is not required to enjoy this standalone at all, I personally haven’t read that one yet but never once felt left out.
Mariska has had a hard life and has settled on a small safe planet to grow a homestead/vineyard, however quickly learns how hard that can be without experience. After avoiding asking anyone for help a smidge too long she finally meets our broody down on his luck warrior Jeltom and asks his help…
Standalone
M/F
Alien x Human
Cozy read
Valentines Day
Fated mates
He has two 🍆🍆
(Lower side of spicy - like 2/5 🌶️🌶️ but a really sweet read)

Mariska is a human who moved to Alderia to start new. She was given a farm and told she had two years to produce income. Unfortunately everything is wrong with the place and she is in need of help. So to town she goes.
Jeltom was once military but also a scientist. He was injured in a kidnapping and came home to heal. His cousin sort of introduces him to Mariska. He goes to her farm and is horrified to find her on a farm that is literally falling down around her. She is drowning in repairs.
They work together them he notices something that tickles his brain but doesn't identify it.
Will Jeltom figure out out? It's refreshing to have out favorite mercenary group make cameos.
All i can say is EEEEEEEEEEEE and SQUEEEEE!!.

This was a very enjoyable story about Mariska a human and Jeltom an Aderian. Mariska moved to Llykhe to escape and bought a house and vineyard with government assistance, but the funds have run out. Desperate but proud she walks into town looking for someone to fix her pressing machine. Mariska hates asking and feels all the Aderians are reading her thoughts and feelings. She goes into the local bar and asks the bartender who points to Jeltom. Jeltom first refuses grumpily which appeals to Mariska, but end the end agrees. Jeltom doesn't have the ability to read minds. When he discovers where her land is and the condition her farm equipment is, Jeltom gets angry that they dumped it on her and vows to help her. What occurs between them is an engaging story as Mariska introduces Valentines to him in this enjoyable copy with very likable characters as I'd volunteer to read and review.

Wow if you enjoy alien romance this is your book. This book is all about Jeltom and Mariska’s relationship.
It was cute how they began. She is the cautious and alert human women with a hard past. He is the wounded but healed soldier who just wanted peace and to be alone.
When they first met she was firm in needed his help on her farm and he was grouchy wanting to be alone. When his cousin forces him to take the job even though he doesn’t want to.
They begin to slowly make a move toward each other. When she introduces the notion of Valentine’s Day he is confused but determined to make her happy.
They continue to work on the farm, growing closer together, and fighting off a mercenary to kill him to get back at their sister.
They ended up confessing their love for each other.
The wedding ceremony was so sweet and beautiful.
I recommend this book to all romance lovers!

He has to save her!
Mariska found sanctuary on Llykhe, but only has two years to turn a profit farming grapes, or she could lose it. When her harvester broke down, she went to the local bar to find someone to fix it.
Jeltom came home to heal, but as an Adarian with no empathy, he felt apart from everyone else. He wanted to spend his days drinking and sleeping, but he could not turn away the little human in need. He knew he had to protect her when he found out she lived at Meteor Crater. Meteors were not the only danger they would face.
This is a cute alien Valentine romance with added drama and danger for excitement. I received an advance copy, but my review is honest and voluntary.

The Alien Warrior’s Valentine is a sweet little out of this world Sci-Fi romance whose MFC Mariska is struggling to make the alien vineyard she was granted by the empathic Aderians profitable, and her two years is running out fast.
Heading into town looking to hire a mechanic to fix her pressing machine she comes across MMC Jeltom who wants nothing but to be left alone and declines her offer of work, until he realizes the person asking isn’t a townie but a human and a cute one at that!
I enjoyed their story which was nicely written and begins a romance that tantalized and teased as it brought together two vulnerable hearts in a wonderful read.

This was another fun holiday romance and I loved seeing Jeltom and Mariska learn to trust and love each other. Mariska has two years to turn a profit with her vineyard but she's running out of time and her machinery is breaking down. Thankfully, she swallows her pride and asks for help. Jeltom, a warrior scientist that's lacking the empathic skills his people have, doesn't really want to have any responsibilities but he finds himself helping her. He offers her a peace that her life has sorely been missing and I loved seeing them work their way together. Adding in the Valentine's Day spin gave this romance a cute factor but don't be fooled by that. They do have hot chemistry and get a fab HEA ;D

The Alien Warrior’s Valentine, a new standalone addition to the Sci-Fi Holiday Specials series. This steamy sci-fi romance focuses on love and redemption, following Mariska, a traumatized human struggling to revive an alien vineyard, and Jeltom, a scarred Aderian warrior. While local empaths make Mariska's life difficult, the grumpy and silent Jeltom becomes her only source of privacy and protection. As they work together to make the vineyard a success, they must decide if celebrating the human tradition of Valentine’s Day will secure their future. This cozy, action-packed story is ideal for fans of sweet romance and fated mates. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Jeltom just wanted to heal his body and mind. His experience at the hands of mercenaries had left him shaken and he just wanted some peace.
Enter Mariska. Mariska just wanted something, somewhere for herself. The vineyard she was given by the Alderian Government really needed help and even though she truly hates to ask for help...she must.
Jeltom agrees after an inital No. She does seem intriguing afterall.
A truly can't put down tale of fate intervening to bring together two souls who truly were meant to be together.
Rich world creation. A heart warming attraction that screams yes almost from minute 1. The Pyra and Pato story was perfection. Yet another engaging and satisfying love in the outerworlds adventure!

I loved the plot, the writing, the world building, the characters and all the warm fuzzy feelings this story evoked. Jeltom and Mariska are just so sweet yet hot together. I don't blame her (a human) for taking such a long time to adjust to living with empaths, I think it would be very hard. Luckily for her, Jeltom - although an Aderian - is not empathic, which is why he was able to be a soldier. I love that he's so protective and determined to help her fix up her vineyard. They celebrate a very romantic Valentine's Day together. The bit of danger they face and their community of friends and family are perfect additions to this entertaining story.

In this sweet Valentines story you get to find out what happens to Jeltom after he has healed from being shot in "Claimed by the Alien Mercenary." Mariska is adorable but in way over her head with the rundown vineyard. In typical human fashion, she refuses to ask anyone for help even though she has no idea how anything works. She can't understand the simple desire to help others that the Aderian have. It was fun watching these two learn and grow together in such a short time. You get a little danger, a little spice, and lots of fun with this story.
