I had a nice surprise when this arrived on my kindle yesterday. First thing I wanna moan about is there is zero, ZERO spice, like nothing! It didn’t take away from the story but I was a bit sad about that 😂 I feel like a lot happened but also not a lot at the same time 🤣 You can tell a lot is gunna happen in the next book and hopefully we get to the end of the mysteries. The crowthers are pretty awful, especially Jett and Valerie. I freaking hate Valerie, she needs to die, there is no way she can become a good person again. Also does she think her sister will be ok with the abuse she has given to Grayson?? I think not. I don’t know how these people think Tabitha is going to be ok with how they’ve treated nelle, this is going to bite them in the ass.

The time has come! The Emporium is finally here and I am so excited to say that you NEED to get your hands on this book as soon as possible.
Ava Larksen has done it again. The unmeasurable angst, powerful dark magic, and thrilling dangers of this beautiful world have taken hold of me once more and I am here for it. I yearn for it always. Stepping through the doors of the Emporium you feel EVERYTHING SHIFT. THE MAGICAL BONDS. THE DARK ENERGY. NELLE AND GRAYSEN, MY LOVES.
Intense. Insane. Irrevocable. That’s how I’d describe this incredible book.

Beyond everything else, I’m so happy to have had the privilege of being part of the ARC readers team once again for this series! The iconic Crowther family are some of the BEST dark and morally grey characters of all time, and I love being able to see the twists and turns they must go through. These characters have been a huge part of my life for about 6 years now, and I’m so grateful to be able to share my love for them and hopefully convince readers out there to give this series a chance. Because I KNOW you will not regret it. It is my favourite dark romance series and I know it will be yours too.

Congrats @avalarksen 🙌 and thank you @literaryinspired ✨ for letting me be part of the ARC team once again!

Cheers to book 3!!! 🥳🎉

Caged by Fallen Crows - Part two by Ava Larksen. Book three in the Of Crowns and Thorns Saga, this one is a continuation of the first two telling us a grueling and manic love story for Greyson and Nelle. It’s jammed packed with so many surprises. These two go through hell and back. The story is so intertwined and there is so much happening it’s hard not to just fall from page one. While this story has no spice it definitely keeps the story flowing! I am dying to know what happens in book 4. The cliffhanger just breaks my heart and I so bad need the HEA! If you like a good Romantasy with an epic back story definitely recommend these books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4.3

I am once again asking someone to check on my mental well being because Caged by Fallen Crows Part 2 and Graysen Crowther continue to have me in an absolutely VICIOUS chokehold.

At this point, I don’t even want to discuss how down bad I am for this man. His devotion, protectiveness, bad-boy energy, willingness to burn the world down for the people he loves, and the fact that every decision he makes is somehow equal parts romantic and concerning? Yeah. That’s my man.

One of my biggest frustrations in the earlier books was the fear that Graysen and Nelle’s connection was nothing more than the Sway. The Wyrm and Tamer bond pulling their strings and forcing feelings that weren’t truly their own. So when we FINALLY got Graysen’s confession and his realization that he loved her before the Sway, before the understanding of what they were to each other, I was completely wrecked. That distinction mattered so much to me. It turned their relationship from destiny into choice. From compulsion into devotion. And I ate that shit UP!

What I love most about this series is that the romance isn’t carrying dead weight. The plot is actually plotting. Every answer somehow creates three more questions, and I am fully invested in every single messy, dramatic, secret-hoarding parent involved. Tabitha continues to be the most suspicious missing mother to ever exist. Nelle’s family tree somehow gets messier every book. Every adult in this series appears to be keeping at least six catastrophic secrets. I need answers immediately.

Also, Ava, respectfully, WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE WON’T RECOGNIZE GRAYSEN WHEN VALARIE IS DONE WITH HIM?????

Excuse me??? No. Absolutely not. I am deeply concerned, emotionally compromised, and already terrified for book four.

Nelle still annoys me occasionally, but she’s finally starting to come into her own and I found myself rooting for her more than I ever have before.

Overall, this series continues to deliver exactly what I want: obsession, mystery, family drama, ancient magic, emotional devastation, and a man so devoted that I’ve willingly ignored the fact that he literally almost murdered his whole family for what they did to Nelle.

Book four cannot come soon enough.

I’ve been following this series since the first book. I never expected the banter and storyline to keep getting significantly better but it does!! The best part is I can’t compare the storyline to any other book as it’s so original.

The strength of this book lies in its characters. Nelle and Graysen continue to evolve in ways that feel authentic and emotionally satisfying, even when they’re making decisions that leave you screaming at the page. Their chemistry is 🔥🔥🔥, balancing humor, tension, and heartbreak against the backdrop of a richly imagined world.

Larksen’s world-building shines here. The mythology, power struggles, and dark secrets woven throughout the saga feel larger than ever, while still keeping the emotional core firmly focused on the characters.

What sets this series apart is its willingness to embrace darkness without sacrificing heart. The story is gritty, emotional, and often devastating, but it’s impossible not to become deeply invested in the fate of these characters.

Ava Larksen continues to prove she’s one of the most exciting voices in romantasy right

I read an ARC through the release campaign organised by @literaryinspired.

oh my goshhhhhhhh

I don’t wanna give any spoilers, but I have to say this series is the best series. I have read in 2026! Like even better than zodiac Academy! It’s definitely right there with the Fourth Wing. It is like in modern times, but with fantasy in it, you’ve got your morally gray, MMC, and a strong willed cunning, brilliant FMC. You got your enemies to lovers forbidden love, mystery, high stakes, fast pace, and it will keep you at the edge of your seat. I felt my heart was going to beat out of my chest reading these books! There were so many times that my heart broke and you can legit feel the cracks going down my heart. Hands-down, the best series of this year I am just so sad that I still don’t have the next book! So if you don’t care about an incomplete series pick up these books, you will not be disappointed . Below are my ratings for this book.

Finished this baby last night and could not put it down. Where part 1 is focused on story, relationship and plot building, part 2 was action. PACKED with all the action and relevations 👀

I love Nelle’s never stop fighting spirit. “My roots are deep. My strength is stone. My breath the wind. I bow to none.” In part 2 Nelle gets put into even more tough circumstances and watching her never break or back down from them makes her one of my fave fmcs.

Watching our MMC Greyson battle and navigate between the choice of his mother and family vs sacrificing Nelle was so hard and I loved how he finally steps up and confronts his feeling. Can’t wait to see how the next book plays out 👀

Also how I wanted to throttle Valarie 🫣 listen I get why she is the way she is but it isn’t an excuse 😭 also where is greyson’s father because I need all the details iykyk.

Thank you Ava Larksen and Meg from literary inspired for the ARC 🙏🏻

A punch in the gut - in a very good way

This is book 3 in the of Crows and Thorns saga. I absolutely adored the first two books but this one has me in a chokehold. Nelle's indomitable spirit shines through, and Graysen, I really felt his anguish having to make impossible choices. The plot is absolutely action-packed, there is so much danger, so much suspense, my heart rate was constantly ticking up. The romance takes a slight step back in this book as Nelle and Graysen are separated for a large chunk of the book, however I was not even remotely mad about it. One revelation after another hurtles through to a heart-wrenching finale. Ava did not even kiss the brick before throwing it. What. A. Book. Do yourselves a favour and go read the whole series so far. Thank me later.

✨Caged By Fallen Crows: Part Two✨

I LOVE GRAYSEN. I love this SERIES. It was SO good to be back in this dark urban romantic fantasy series by Ava. I truly don’t know how she packs so much in such a short timeframe, but it’s impressive, intense, antagonizing, beautiful, and powerful.

CBFC is book 3 in the Of Crows and Thorns saga and part two of the time before Nelle turns 20. This book takes place immediately after part one and continues on the suspenseful trajectory and twisted trials between the Crowthers and Horned Gods. Nelle and Graysen are suspended in their emotions between enemies, allis, and something more. Something lovely and something ancient. Through these pages, Nelle finally experiences the opportunity to save herself. Her feminine rage rises to the surface and allows her to stand firm on her own despite her magic and being alone. We get more plot twists, betrayals, reveals, more secrets and mystery, deeper scheming, and more questions to consider. This book is JAM PACKED.

I love this couple. And learning more and more about the Crowther boys, the bread crumbs related to their mother, and the cunning of the gods and politics is just so fun and stressful! I cannot wait for more. I cannot wait for Graysen and Nelle to come together again. And, after that ending, I’m so terrified and eager for what’s going to happen next. This is one of my favorite series!

Tropes you may find in CBFC is forced proximity, hidden identities, plot twists, political intrigue, female rage, yearning, no spice in THIS book, morally black & protective MMC, unique bonds and magic, underworld society, dark urban fantasy, action-packed, and so so much more!

Ava, thank you for letting me continue to be on your arc team. I love this series, Nelle, and Graysen so much.

Caged by Fallen Crows Part 2 is the 3rd book in the Of Crows and Thorns Saga by Ava Larksen. Just remember that this is a saga that you need to read in order; these are not standalone books.

My favorite quotes from this book are:

“You love me?”
“How the fucj could I not love you? You’re my queen, little bird.”

“Oh my gods, are you, like, a thirteen-year-old boy? Don’t you dare carve dick pics into my tower.”

“I have secret pockets on everything I wear,” he winked cockily. “Like the deadly weapon stashed inside my boxer briefs.”

"Turn around, turn around, turn around…
Please, please, please…"

“Graysen Crowther, you belong to me."

"Your prey’s escaping, Death-dealer."

🌍 𝕎𝕠𝕣𝕝𝕕 𝕓𝕦𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕚𝕟𝕘, 𝕨𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕡𝕒𝕔𝕚𝕟𝕘:
We find out their true feelings finally! This totally wrecked me. This distinction truly matters and I feel it will play a huge role in the next book. It takes Nelle and Grayson’s relationship from just fate or destiny to their choice; it’s no longer just a feeling of addiction but becomes a relationship of pure loyalty with no limits. And that’s what I devoured.

I really appreciated the way the author was able to answer the questions that came up in the previous books but/and, in doing so, managed to raise at least three more questions for each answer!

The most worrying part of this book for me was when Grays little sister told us that we’re not going to recognize Graysen when Valarie is done with him??? Wait, what? Surely she can’t break him?! No, I don’t accept this. I’m deeply concerned about this, and you’re leaving me emotionally compromised; now I am petrified of what I'll see in book 4.

🧝‍♂️ ℂ𝕙𝕒𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕤:
I have always been a sucker and downright feral for Grayson. He’s devoted and protective; he has that bad-boy energy every woman loves; he’s willing to burn the world down with him inside to save those he loves most, and I love how every decision he makes is somehow both romantic and extremely destructive.

Tabitha is officially the most suspicious mother ever to go missing. We have now learned soooo much about her and yet also nothing at all! What was she keeping from her husband and family? I’m desperate to know!
In fact, Every adult in this series is keeping at least six secrets of their own, and they are all somehow linked to each other, wether through a previous relationship, a broken engagement, or some nefarious deal. and I get the feeling all of these secrets have the potential to be cataclysmic.

This book introduced us to the horned god Florin and his shop. I have a suspicion that this god I going to be at the centre of the next book wether through choice or force I’m not sure. I loved his character, I had suspicions there was more to his relationship with Tabitha than we were aware of but then, if that were the case, why is Sirro also so devoted? Intrigued? Hmmm…..

Valerie is pure malevolence and has the top spot as far as villains go for me now. But I don’t know why she has flipped and become the monster she is and that is absolutely Irving me inane! To be fair, Jett’s not that far behind her. He has something twisted inside him! I wouldn’t be surprised if he betrays absolutely everyone for his own self interests? These two are evil personified. Through their chapters, I don’t think I could breathe, and with all the tension they built, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

🪧𝔽𝕚𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕥𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤:
If you are looking for a new dark fantasy/romantasy saga that’s dark, highly addictive, has unique bonds and magic, a morally black and protective MMC, a strong and defiant FMC, a deep history of tradition and betrayal and yearning and spice that rips through you then I promise you this is the saga you’ve been searching for. Just know that you HAVE to read this saga in order. These are not standalone books.

⭐️ DNF

⭐️⭐️
I managed to finish it but it was rubbish. I won't keep a physical copy and won't recommend it, but  it's a shame as the plot could have made a good book in another author's hands

⭐️⭐️.5
It was OK. I wish I didn't start this one as it didn't do it for me as I struggled to read it. It had an interesting premise that fell flat but I had to see what happened in the end.

⭐️⭐️⭐️
I don't regret reading it, and I will read the next one, but this one did have a few flaws. [These could be repetitive writing, gaps or plot holes, better character growth or world building, areas needing more detail]
Generally, the book lacked depth and became confusing. The plot resonated with me even though it annoyed me on the whole.

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
I'm glad I read it. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to the right people, but I wanted more! Sadly, it's easily forgettable with a few issues I just couldn't overlook/get past.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good book! I loved it, but... I needed more! I really did enjoy it, but it had a few parts that needed more detail or added history/background or lore. But that's because the story or characters were memorable, and the plot was strong with brilliant twists. I would re-read if I needed to catch up for the next book and would recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Great book! I truly wish the story had been thought about more, or the author had been given more time as this book is so close to brilliance! I will likely read again and will definitely be recommending it to all!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WOW! Absolutely amazing book! Well written with great characters and a plot so memorable that it will stay with me. I will definitely read this again, I will be recommending it and sharing it with the whole world! Also- I NEED A PHYSICAL COPY!

🔥⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥
This is my God level tier. The book must be perfectly memorable. Even after reading 50+ more books, I will remember character names and emotions along with the plot. If there is a special edition, then I need to own it! If there is a conversation on books- I'm talking about this!

 SPICE SCALE:
🌶️– segsual language and a little on-page action

🌶️🌶️– a lot of segsual language and some on-page open door action, may be occurring a couple of times

🌶️🌶️🌶️– a lot of explicit action and dirty talk, occurring frequently with 2/3 lurvers

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ – super graphic and explicit, occurring 4 or more times, can be more grey and taboo themed.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ – Kinks and Fet!shism, explicit and super graphic. It is likely to be tushy play, toys, playrooms, and more

Caged by Fallen Crows Part 2 is the 3rd book in the Of Crows and Thorns Saga by Ava Larksen. Just remember that this is a saga that you need to read in order; these are not standalone books. Trying to jump into the saga midway through will leave you lost and confused.

I swear the entire ‘Of Crows and Thorns Saga’ is trying to destroy what little remains of my mental health, and Caged by Fallen Crows Part 2 has done the most damage so far, thanks to Grayson Crowther and the absolutely callous stranglehold he has on me.

I’ll be honest: I am just feral for Grayson at this point. He’s devoted and protective; he has that bad-boy energy every woman loves; he’s willing to burn the world down to save or protect those he loves most, and I love how every decision he makes is somehow both romantic and concerning. Yeah. Grayson is the man I’ve gone feral for. (Just don’t tell my husband lol.)

It was frustrating in the previous 2 books that the only real connection Grayson and Nelle seemed to have was through the sway. It was The Wyrm and Tamer's bond pulling their strings, forcing feelings between them that weren’t their own, weren’t natural, and would one day suddenly disappear.

I was so relieved when Grayson finally gathered the courage to confess his realization that not only had he had feelings for Nelle before the Sway, he actually loved her before the Sway. This was before they had the chance to realize for themselves what they truly were to each other. This totally wrecked me. And you need to know that this distinction truly matters not only to me but also to both Grayson and Nelle. It takes Nelle and Grayson’s relationship from just fate or destiny to their choice; it’s no longer just a feeling of addiction but becomes a relationship of pure loyalty. And that’s what I devoured.

I loved how Ava didn’t let the romance in this series be dead weight. The plot and sub-plot were well thought out and well outlined. And I love the way Ava was able to answer every question that came up in each book and, in doing so, managed to raise at least three more questions.

I’m fully dedicated to all the messy, dramatic, secret-hoarding parent-involved moments that have happened and are yet to happen.

Tabitha is still the most suspicious mother ever to go missing. And with each new book, Ava gives us Nelle’s family tree, which somehow keeps getting messier and messier. Every adult in this series is keeping at least six secrets of their own, and I get the feeling those secrets have the potential to be cataclysmic.

Ava, with all due respect, I have to ask, what in God’s green earth do you mean by saying that we’re not going to recognize Graysen when Valarie is done with him??? No, I don’t accept this. I’m deeply concerned about this, and you’re leaving me emotionally compromised; now I am petrified of what I'll learn in book 4.

There are still moments when I find that Nelle is her old, annoying self, but I also see her slowly coming into her own, which I absolutely love. More and more, I am cheering her on and starting to really like her character.

Of Crows and Thorns Saga is delivering everything I expect and want: obsession, mystery, family drama, ancient magic, emotional devastation, and an MMC so devoted I’m willing to overlook the fact he nearly unalived his whole family for everything they did to the FMC.

Caged by Fallen Crows Pt. 2 introduced us to Florin and his shop, and I just loved Florin. I loved how, when Graysen and Nelle entered Florin’s shop for the first time and saw the sign hanging inside Florin’s lair, the silver lettering was deeply ingrained in the wood, saying “PURVEYOR of RARITIES.”

Sirrus is still the major character he’s always been, his hand in everything that’s been happening, and in this 3rd book of the saga, we get some rather interesting revelations about him. Despite being part of anything and everything, he’s still an enigma shrouded in secrets, and I honestly can’t wait to find out what his true intentions are.

I found myself a bit scared and shocked this time around as we were finally introduced to The Emporium. This place gave me so many chills; it was sinister, dark, and just felt so degrading. The Crowthers have underhanded, insidious plans, and I don’t know where to start or what to say about them.

Valerie has to take the top spot as far as villains go for me now. She makes me shudder, and she has this innate ability to make me so mad that my blood starts to boil, and Jett’s not that far behind her. These two are evil personified. Through their chapters, I don’t think I could breathe, and with all the tension they built, I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

If you are looking for a new dark fantasy/romantasy saga that’s addictive, unique, has no spice, unique bonds and magic, a morally black and protective MMC, a strong and defiant FMC, a horned God, a God-forged weapon, and a soul bond that’s tested by shadows, then I promise you this is the saga you’ve been searching for. Just know that you HAVE to read this saga in order. These are not standalone books.

I can’t wait to get my hands on book 4, even though I am scared of what Valerie is going to do to Grayson and what else Ava has in store for us.

This book went straight to the top of my reading pile as soon as I got it and I absolutely devoured it in a day. I honestly couldn't put it down. I don't know how Ava does it but these books just get better and better. I am obsessed with these characters.

This is book 3 in the series. It picks up straight from where book 2 finished and has an even darker edge to it as we enter The Emporium. The tension and action in this book hits a new high. There is so much packed into this book and it is fast paced. I think I was on the edge of my seat for pretty much the whole book!

Everyone is running out of time. Nelle only has two weeks to escape from Graysen and his family. The Crowthers desperately need to secure their Goods Appraisal by a Horned God and seem to be prepared to go to any lengths to get what they want.

The world building is incredibly intricate and so immersive. I love how the narrative is rich and layered with so many nuggets of information, but it never feels heavy or overloaded . I just find myself getting completely swept up in the story and feeling everything the characters feel.

The level of characterisation just blows me away. So many secondary characters that have significant parts to play in the wider story, yet they also have their own stories to tell. I want to know more about every single one. The secrets, betrayals and mysteries seem to go even deeper than before. The politics of the Houses and Horned Gods is always at play. The hierarchy of this world is fascinating. Any reveals we get or information about Nelle and Graysen's families always has the feel of being just the tip of the iceberg! There is so much more to be revealed.

I love how the dynamics between Nelle and Graysen continue to develop and evolve. I loved the yearning and tension between them. And the banter, as ever, is just fantastic. Despite everything she is going through Nelle is so brave and determind. I love her strength and refusal to bow down to anyone. Graysen is walking a fine line between protecting Nelle and supporting his family. He always seems so weighed down with all his responsibilities.

I loved the introduction of Florin and his shop - what a fantastic character. Sirrus continues to be a major player in everything but we do get some intriguing reveals. He's a part of everything yet is still such an enigma and surrounded by so many secrets. I can't wait to find out what his true intentions are.

The Emporium was so shocking and scary. It gave me chills. Such a sinister, dark, degrading place. I don't even know where to begin with the Crowthers and their insidious plan. Valerie hit a new level as top villain for me, she makes my blood boil, with Jett not far behind. I genuinely don't think I breathed through those chapters. The tension was off the scale!

The ending floored me! I won't give you spoilers but it left me feeling anxious for what will happen next. I'm trusting the process! I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.

This series is completely addictive and unique. If you love dark fantasy/ romantasy then read these books!

A huge thank you to Ava Larksen and Meg at Literary Inspired for the privilege of reading an advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own and honestly/voluntarily given.

This series continues to sink its claws deeper into me with every book, and this installment may be one of the most emotionally frustrating, satisfying, and tension-filled entries yet.

What I love most about Nelle is that she refuses to become a victim of her circumstances. Even while surrounded by enemies, caught in dangerous games played by powerful people, and facing forces far beyond her control, she never loses that fire at her core. She wants to be chosen. She wants loyalty. She wants someone willing to stand beside her and fight for her. But she never stops fighting for herself first. That balance is what makes her such a compelling heroine.

This book places the characters into an environment dripping with danger, manipulation, temptation, and hidden agendas. The atmosphere was incredible. Every interaction felt layered with purpose. Every conversation felt like a move in a larger game. As different factions pursued their own goals and desperately sought the leverage they needed to move forward, it became increasingly clear that nobody is revealing their full hand. The deeper the story goes, the more I find myself questioning everyone's motives.

One of my favorite aspects of this installment was watching the larger pieces begin to shift into place. There are still so many unanswered questions that constantly ran through my mind while reading. Every time I thought I understood where the story was heading, another revelation or twist would appear and send my theories in a completely different direction. Instead of providing easy answers, this book expands the mystery and raises the stakes in a way that kept me completely invested.

What surprised me most was how invested I became in the mystery surrounding Graysen's mother. Every appearance leaves me with more questions than answers. She has an undeniable presence that commands attention whenever she enters the page. Other powerful characters seem drawn to her orbit, and there is a weight to her story that feels far larger than what has been revealed so far. I am convinced there is something massive hidden beneath the surface, and I have a feeling the truth will completely change how we view everything that has happened.

This book felt like standing in the eerie silence before a violent storm breaks across the sky. Not calm. Not safe. Just that unsettling tension where you know something huge is approaching and there is absolutely no way to stop it. Every chapter carried that feeling. The story is clearly building toward something much larger, and I cannot shake the sense that the characters are only beginning to understand the true scope of what they are facing.

If there is one thing this series does exceptionally well, it is character growth. The plot is compelling, the mysteries are addictive, and the world continues to expand in fascinating ways, but it is the characters that keep me coming back. Their flaws, fears, stubbornness, and emotional battles make every victory feel meaningful.

By the final page, I was left with more questions than answers, a head full of theories, and an overwhelming need to know what happens next.

For me, that is exactly what a great continuation should do.

I genuinely couldn't wait to dive back into this story.

This book picks up Nelle and Graysen's journey exactly where I wanted it to, continuing to develop their relationship while somehow making an already impossible situation even more complicated. Every chapter had me wondering, how on earth is this going to end? Every character is being pushed toward impossible choices, and somehow I already know that, no matter what happens, I'll be the one left heartbroken.

One of my favorite things about this book was the humor. Despite the tension, danger, and constant uncertainty, Ava Larksen's wit shines through every chapter. I found myself smiling, laughing, and highlighting joke after joke from the very first pages.

I also loved getting to watch Nelle and Graysen grow closer and truly get to know each other on a deeper level. Their conversations, growing trust, and the realization that every choice they make only complicates things further made their slow burn even more satisfying. And honestly? This is exactly the kind of slow burn we deserve.

At the same time, every mystery that gets solved seems to create three new ones. I kept making mental notes of little details because I'm convinced the author is carefully weaving clues throughout the story, and I'm determined to figure out at least a few of them before the next book.

Nelle continues to be one of my favorite FMCs as her courage, loyalty, and determination make her impossible not to root for. She's fiercely devoted to both her family and Graysen, and I admire the strength it takes to navigate those conflicting loyalties.

I also loved seeing more of Graysen's relationships with Mela and the rest of the people he fights beside. Learning more about both of their families and the side characters only made the world feel richer and the stakes even higher.
And don't even get me started on THAT scene near the end, the one that completely convinced me of the depth and sincerity of Graysen's feelings. As if I needed another reason to adore him, the author went ahead and gave me one anyway!

And the worldbuilding? Absolutely stunning. Places like Ascendria's Market and the Purveyor of Rarities were described so vividly that I felt as though I was walking through them myself, sharing the characters' wonder, fear, and excitement.

I cannot wait for the next book because these mysteries are living rent free in my head, and I'm still trying to piece everything together.

Dark, witty, emotionally charged, and packed with suspense, this sequel delivered everything I could have hoped for from a romantasy and somehow left me even more desperate for book 4.

Thanks to Ava Larksen and Literary Inspired for the ARC!

Oh my God, I’m so grateful to have once again received my ARC for the Of Crows and Thorns saga, thanks to @avalarksen and @literaryinspired. I have been extremely invested in this story that nothing I read in between can compare to it. I truly have a soft spot for Graysen and Nelle.
I was waiting to receive Caged by Fallen Crows : Part two, and I inhaled it the second I got my hands on it. It was even better than I expected. It really gave me the emotions I experienced while reading the very first book of the series. I loved every second of it. I was on pins and needles reading each page, the thrill, the action, the emotions, and most importantly, the secrets. These families have so many secrets.
I love how the bond between Nelle and Graysen works. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I was so scared for Graysen, and he really shocked me with his actions at the end of the book, the man that you are, Graysen Crowther. And Nelle, what a brave girl. I’m so happy she is this fierce and proud, and the fact that she bows to literally NO ONE, I hope she finds her way out very soon.
I like how this book gives us more information about different characters, uncovering secrets, especially the ones about Graysen and Nelle’s parents. But there’s still so much to learn. I enjoyed the parts with Florin, he was fun :))
The Emporium had me so shocked. It was horribly scary, and the Crowthers’ plan made it a lot more frightful. I just wanted to kill Jett with my own hands.
Honestly, Sirro has got my attention, and I really want to learn about his secrets. He is everywhere and knows too much, but I still can’t understand his intentions. And the Alverac!!! It amazes me how we still don’t know exactly what’s going to happen once it’s enabled. I’m sooo curious.

This was dark, sharp, and tense in exactly the way I wanted from a romantasy sequel. I will definitely reread a lot it because it was just sooooooooo good, I can’t get enough of it. Honestly, what might happen to Graysen really scares me. Can’t wait to see what’s still to come.

I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a dark romantasy with a good balance of action scenes, suspense, a magical bond, a brave FMC and an intrepid MMC. You should absolutely read this book.

Contains some minor spoilers!!! As soon as I got this ARC, I couldn’t put it down. I genuinely didn’t sleep just to finish it because I’ve been obsessed with this saga since the first book, and this one somehow became my favorite so far. What I love the most is how unpredictable everything feels. This saga keeps evolving in ways I never see coming, nothing is ever exactly what it seems, and yet it never feels boring or too heavy. There are so many secrets, so many mysteries, and it feels like everything is building toward something huge, but the romance is always still at the center. Gray and Nelle keep getting better and better with every book. Their banter is still so good, their tension is hot and sensual, but in this book their bond also feels more stable and solid. Gray’s protective instinct is stronger than anything else. It doesn’t matter where he is, what is happening, or if the world around him is burning, his first thought is always Nelle. And still, he remains so enigmatic that I can never fully guess his next move. Nelle is also growing so much. She is a strong heroine, and even when her circumstances are not in her favor, she never feels weak. She bows to no one, and she never will. I also loved how openly she owns her sensuality and desires without shame. It felt so refreshing. And the love confession? Unexpected, sweet, tender, and passionate at the same time. I loved it. We also get more of the world, the power dynamics, the mysteries, and Florin, who was such an interesting new presence. I loved that the secondary characters feel alive too. Nelle and Gray are always the center, obviously, but I would absolutely read a full book about Tabitha and Varen. The atmosphere is dark, sensual, and so unique. Ava Larksen’s writing feels immersive and personal without ever making the lore feel too heavy, and the world is full of creatures, abilities, and details I haven’t seen anywhere else. I still can’t figure out Sirro and I can’t wait to find more about him.  Usually I don’t remember many names, but here everyone feels so alive that it is impossible to forget them. I can’t wait for the next book. I need to know where this saga is going.

Sleep, work, family ... who has time for these things when you have a book like Caged by Fallen Crows (Part Two) to devour. Honestly, Ava, I think you may be trying to kill me! But in the same breathe, thank you anf Literary Inspired so much for the ARC copy if this massively anticipated book.

Where to start, the concept of this series is a total, mind blowing breathe of fresh air. Set in (sort of) our world, we have a layer of paranormal/fantasy hidden below standard mortal life. Family 'Houses' are set out in a complex hierarchy that fundamentally exist to serve 'the Horned Gods' - an array of powerful supernatural creatures, with massively varying traits and skills. The Horned Gods aren't particularly good guys, and by association, nether are the families that serve them. But that's where Ava's fantastic character studies come in, as whilst there are certainly villains in this society, there is a huge amount of good too.

The main characters, Nelle and Gray are beautifully developed. Gray carries the weight of the world, brutal when he needs to be but with a heart of gold and so many impossible choices. Nelle is an utter queen - even fending off attacks from every angle, she is cunning but also compassionate and totally determined. Full of fury and heartbreak, love and spite.

Whereas the first part of Caged by Fallen Crows was setting things up, this book knocked it out the park. We visit the Emporium, are back down in the catacombs and trawl through the markets of Ascendria. The yearning is high, the fight scenes are beautifully choreographed, the world building is rich, the supporting characters well developed and the editing is tight.

If you love dark fantasy romance, but are bored with the usual offerings, look no further because Ava has got you covered and the Of Crowns and Thorns Saga is for you!

This was an absolute whirlwind of a story. I was seriously on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out what was going to happen next.

Part 1 had banter and connection and then we move on to this book, part 2. It was definitely darker, and focused more on the secrets and lies each family decided to keep. And I actually enjoyed this because we are slowly seeing that nothing is as it seems and the previous generation (so the parents) have more dark pasts than we thought. I was so surprised at some of these plot twists and I cannot wait to see what becomes of them.

For most of this book, Graysen and Nelle are apart. In the beginning we get to see them work together and you feel their connection. And then of course the story moves off in two different directions. Graysen back into the catacombs for answers and to hunt a creature and Nelle to be put up as unwilling bait. I really loved Graysen's POVs because you can just feel the conflict he has within himself but his feelings for Nelle are always so strong. He wants to save everyone but is slowly realizing he might not be able to. Nelle was an interesting character in this book in particular because she did gain some inner strength and despite being a prisoner, she was a complete bad*ss.

Jett needs some time in a corner and the other brothers need to figure out what they really want because they are giving me whiplash 😂. I do believe the aunt has definitely passed the point of no return but I'm interested to see how far she takes things.

We get more indepth with the Horned Gods and Uzrek, which I really enjoyed. I think Uzrek has his own agenda going on but I think his scenes were some of the most interesting, just because he's so mysterious, I can't decide what his end game is.

I definitely cannot wait to continue this series. I have to know what happens!!! That cliffhanger, as usual, was brutal.

“You love me?”
“How the fucj could I not love you? You’re my queen, little bird.”

Holy fucking cow WHAT WAS THAT?!

The fact this all happened in the span of 24 hours blows my mind. The amount of action?? She was brought the Emperior, forced to have a talons around her neck that almost suffocated her to death by Jett, the hammer was given the Grey’s family, they found out someone betrayed Grey’s mother that lead to Layrrissa taking her and using her for the past 12 years to Mala almost dying and suddenly Sorrin seems like the good guy trying to also find grey’s mother? And that Nellie’s dad was actually in love with grey’s aunt before Nelle’s mom. ACTUALLY MINDBLOWING.

The fact there was not one smut scene at all and I didn’t even care I was so invested in the action.

The ending where Grey professes his love for Nellie, takes a whipping meant for her by his deranged aunt and then leaves her safe in the rookery with the Birds of Prey and goes out to confront his aunt know he’s not going to return the same… completely different/changed from the person he was. He legit broke Jett’s spine because of the way he treated Nelle… if that doesn’t shout unhinged devoted love then idk what does.

And the love confession by Grey ? The longing that he wishes they were a normal couple and how he would have courted the shit out of her. Nelle didn’t say it back though but it’s fine. HE FELL FIRST & HARD! He was the blueprint. So happy Kenton & Caiden are starting to come around the Nelle and Jett will definitely be feeling remorse and guilt. All the brother will gang up on the aunt and defeat her - RIGHT??

Nelle is not giving up though, the book ended with her determined to get him back and I have no doubt especially when her wyrm started to speak to her because she got the mites from the horned god to help get rid of the knot. Villain era Nelle here we come

Ava, you have been and will always be my favorite author. I received this copy through Literary Inspired and was so excited to dive back into the world of the Horned Gods and the Houses with Nelle and Graysen.

This book, which is really the end of book 2 split into 2 halves, is fast-paced yet takes place over the course of just a few days. Every breath and reaction and thought from our MCs has been accounted for. It’s something I love about Ava’s writing because I’m so immersed, so enthralled by these characters and their experiences.

The plot of this book follows Nelle and Graysen as they uncover old secrets from Tabitha’s past, and the mystery continues to grow even as we learn more about her motivations and actions long ago. (Even those who were lucky enough to read Tabby and Varen’s book on the orange website are mostly in the dark - but that’s what makes the world so lush, it’s been thought out in entire novels already. Take Zielenski and Lila, Penn and Kenton, for example. There’s so much subtext between their interactions that, as a reader, you can just tell they’ve got their own rich stories to add to this universe).

Ava handles exposition so well, because it’s steeped into the plot itself, you don’t learn anything without purpose, and she’s so thoughtful about how our two characters’ experiences weave together. I love the connection between Graysen and Nelle, and I love them when they’re apart too, this is the strength of this installation of their story: we truly get to see the growth of these characters shine in the absence of the other.

I’m very excited for the next book in the series as it’s now reached the point in the plot that those who’ve followed Ava from the orange app have yet to read.

Go Ava!!! Rooting for you always!

As an ARC reader, I was eager to return to the dark and captivating world of the Of Crows and Thorns Saga, and Caged by Fallen Crows: Part Two did not disappoint. Filled with heartbreak, resilience, and gripping twists, this installment had me completely invested from beginning to end.

Ava Larksen continues to weave a beautifully dark tale where danger lurks around every corner and trust is never guaranteed. The story picks up with emotional intensity and refuses to let go, pulling readers deeper into a world filled with secrets, betrayal, and difficult choices. Every chapter felt meaningful, building upon the events of the previous books while raising the stakes even higher.

What stood out most to me was the character growth. The challenges they face are immense, and watching them struggle, adapt, and fight for what matters most made their journeys incredibly compelling. The emotional moments hit hard, and there were several scenes that left me holding my breath, wondering how everything would unfold.

The relationships in this series continue to be one of its greatest strengths. Whether through loyalty, love, friendship, or sacrifice, every connection feels earned and adds depth to the story. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and the emotional tension kept me turning pages late into the night.

Larksen's world-building remains immersive and atmospheric, creating the perfect backdrop for this dark fantasy adventure. The pacing balances action, intrigue, and emotional moments well, ensuring there is never a dull moment. While there were a few plot points I would have loved to see explored further, the overall reading experience was thoroughly engaging.

Caged by Fallen Crows is back with Part Two and I’m still so very much in love with this saga as I was the first time I read it!. Nelle remains such a strong and compelling FMC and I love her strength and wit so much. And Graysen. Grayson continues to be so frustratingly, perfectly written. I love him, although he still makes terrible choices - and yet. Their dynamic has shifted into something so much more complicated than just enemies or lovers or captor and prisoner, and Ava is clearly in no rush to resolve it, which I guess I’m a masochist for.
The world feels a little bigger and darker this time around too. Master Sirro giving Nelle impossible choices, the Witches Ball looming, the Alverac reveal — there's so much dread woven into every chapter and I loved every second of it. I loved getting to know more about this hidden world, more about the Horned Gods and the Houses, the magic and the creatures, and especially all those hints and bits and pieces about the past that still influences the present probably even more than we understand quite yet. And there are still so many questions and secrets...

It still feels a bit slower sometimes, but I genuinely could not put this down. Highly recommend if you're into dark fantasy romance with morally grey men and heroines who refuse to break.

Thank you so much @avalarksen and also @literaryinspired for letting me be part of the ARC team once again! Cheers to book 3!!! Can't wait for the next one!! :D

The only complaint I have about this book is that it ended way too soon. Seriously. I needed another 300 pages.

Every time I think this series can’t possibly get better, Ava Larksen proves me wrong. The stakes are higher, the mysteries are deeper, and the emotional damage is somehow even worse.

Nelle and Graysen continue to be one of my favorite romantasy couples. Their relationship feels earned. Every step forward, every sacrifice, every heartbreaking moment carries weight. What I love most is that their connection is about so much more than fate or magic, it’s about choice, devotion, and fighting for each other no matter the cost.

The world-building continues to expand in ways that keep me completely invested. Every answer uncovers three new questions, every revelation leaves me desperate for more, and every adult in this series seems to be hiding enough secrets to destroy entire kingdoms. I need answers immediately.

The Crowthers continue to test my patience. Valerie remains firmly on my list of characters I love to hate, and every interaction with that family had me alternating between rage and disbelief. The drama is immaculate.

What really stands out about this series is how perfectly it balances romance, mystery, family drama, dark magic, and danger. The romance never overshadows the plot, and the plot never overshadows the characters. Everything works together to create a story that feels impossible to put down.

The ending absolutely wrecked me. I closed the book and immediately needed book four. The wait is going to be painful.

If you’ve been following this series since book one, prepare yourself. The obsession is only getting worse.

A princess from a Great House. And a fallen prince.

Where do I even begin...

One day? Seriously??? We spent the entire book in a single day? At this point, I’m genuinely hoping both me and the rest of the characters survive long enough to see Nelle’s twentieth birthday.

But all jokes aside, I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. The drama level somehow got even HIGHER, and for every answer we get, I end up with ten new questions. I absolutely love the mythology, the bestiary, and all the magical artifacts in this world. Even the tiniest details end up becoming incredibly important later on, and I’m obsessed with that.

And how many times did I want to throw my Kindle at the wall because of Graysen’s brothers and his aunt? Valarie is truly something else. I can understand the Crowthers’ motivations, their desire for revenge, and even their attempts to silence their guilt. But everything this woman does is completely unforgivable. When are people finally going to pull their heads out of the sand and stand up to her? At this point, she’s the real villain of the story for me.

Now for the good part. Finally. FINALLY Graysen got his act together! Now I just need Nelle to stop lying to herself and forgive him, because honestly, the man has already proven himself. No more groveling required. I’m ready for this power couple to show everyone exactly who they’re dealing with.

And that ending?! I desperately need the next book right now!!!

Thank you to the author, Ava Larksen, for the ARC. I was so thrilled to receive it.

This is part two of Caged by Fallen Crows and it picks up right after the ending of book one. I was really excited to jump back into this storty after that cliffhanger, and it pulled me in pretty quickly.

Nelle and Gray are still in the middle of everything—danger, magic, monsters, enemies, all of it. Their forced-proximity situation continues, and I stayed most invested in Gray. The tension between them is strong, and their banter is honestly one of my favorite parts of the book. Although they are separated for part of their story, their bond remained strong.

The action and chaos during Grey's sections stood out a lot for me. The fight scenes are so detailed but still easy to follow, I could actually picture what was happening without getting lost in it. Some of those moments felt really intense and well done.

I also liked the writing style. In the more emotional or high-stakes scenes, the author often uses grouped phrases—usually sets of three words paired together—which gives the writing a really rhythmic, heightened feel. It’s a small detail, but I noticed it throughout and thought it added extra weight to those moments without feeling overdone.

Overall, I stayed engaged once I was back in the story. It’s fast-paced, emotional, and keeps expanding the world and stakes. The ending definitely left me wanting the next book right away. Highly recommend.

I genuinely don’t know how Ava Larksen keeps making me more invested in this series with every book, but here we are.

The deeper we get into the lore, the Houses, and all the family secrets, the more obsessed I become. There is so much happening and shared backstory between the side characters. I keep telling myself I’ll stop making theories, and then another reveal happens and I’m right back at it.

Nelle and Graysen continue to be one of my favourite parts of the series. The banter is still top tier, the tension is still there, and I was completely invested in every scene they shared. I’m also really interested in the brothers and their relationships (hopefully we’ll get to their stories eventually 👀). I hate their aunt though, I was trying to justify her actions in the previous books but in this one… no way. 😡

And that ending? Once again, I have questions, concerns, and an urgent need for the next book. 😭

Thank you to Ava Larksen and Literary Inspired for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 🧡

This series just has me by the horns so badly! I was so excited to read this next instalment and while so many things are answered and explored, it raises more questions and I am already gagging so hard for the next one! The fourth book is going to be a DOOZY.

It was so awesome slipping back into this world, and while this one definitely feels like a part two (it picks up right where part one ended) it was still so incredibly immersive. I quickly recollected everything that had been going on when I left off, and the mystery built in the first half came back with a vengeance as these characters are trying to figure out what happened in their pasts.

Also, Greysen and Nelle's building feelings are reaching a fever pitch. It's getting harder and harder to know what to root for because I want them to be together so badly. I also love how the setup for meeting the Crowthers and learning more about them really pays off in this one. We get a lot of deeper knowledge in part two about each Crowther's feelings and personalities.

Ava has continued again and again to build such a rich world with realistic characters even with the fantastical elements. And an intense mystery that just keeps teasing and unfurling! Can't wait for book four!

I received an advanced review copy of this book and am leaving this review voluntarily.

This series is so addicting, you will be losing sleep over it!

Nelle and the Crowther family are back at each other's throats, and the stakes are higher than ever before.

Picking up right where the previous book left off, part two dives straight back into the world of Horned Gods and the Emporium, revealing what kind of place it is and its chilling purpose. We dive deeper into Nelle and Graysen's relationship, and we also uncover intriguing new layers to Tabitha's character and her secret life, along with glimpses and revelations about the past.

This read was a lot more emotional, intense, and fast paced with richer world building and the introduction to a Horned God, Florin, and his lair, PURVEYOR of RARITIES.

Of course the list of tropes ❤️‍🔥:
🖤 Forbidden Love
✨ Enemies to Lovers
🖤 Magical Bond
✨ The Sway Reversed
🖤 Hurt Her and I End You
✨ Gilded Cage
🖤 Forced Proximity
✨ Weaponised Leverage
🖤Knife-edged Offer

And my favorite quotes:

-“Oh my gods, are you, like, a thirteen-year-old boy? Don’t you dare carve dick pics into my tower.”

-“I have secret pockets on everything I wear,” he winked cockily. “Like the deadly weapon stashed inside my boxer briefs.”

-"Turn around, turn around, turn around…
Please, please, please…"

-“Graysen Crowther, you belong to me."

-"Your prey’s escaping, Death-dealer."

Caged by Fallen Crows: Part Two absolutely wrecked me in the best possible way. Every time I think this series can’t pull me any deeper, it proves me wrong. The story of Nelle and Grayson is so beautifully intertwined with pain, loyalty, sacrifice, and hope that I found myself completely lost in their world from the very first page.

What hit me hardest was the complexity of the Crowther family, especially Tabitha. She isn’t just a character on the page, she feels real, flawed, fierce, and heartbreaking. Watching the threads of her story continue to unravel alongside Nelle and Grayson’s creates an emotional weight that lingers long after you’ve finished reading.

And then there are the Crowthers. They aren’t just monsters lurking in the dark; they’re a constant reminder that danger is never far away. The tension they bring to every chapter kept me turning pages long into the night, desperate to know what would happen next.

This book is dark, haunting, and utterly consuming. It offers the kind of escape that only the best fantasy stories can give, one where you lose hours of your life because you’re so immersed in the characters’ struggles, triumphs, and heartbreaks. I felt every loss, every fear, every moment of love and determination.

Ava Larksen has created a story that sinks its claws into your heart and refuses to let go.

Finishing this book, I just could only stare and go what?!

I was so invested in the read I didn’t notice the end was coming until it was too late and the intensity and plot twists were at an all time high and I was fully expecting more to read and then it just stopped… major cliffhanger!

I enjoyed the way it picked up from the last part seamlessly and delivered more history and secrets that changed the way I thought about the story line from book 1 and 2.

Nelle as a book character is fierce, loyal, and prideful as ever. She refuses to bow to no one and every time she doesn’t I root so hard for her. She is put through the stuff in this book and you can’t help but feel for her situation, although I don’t think any of her captors were truly aware of what they thought they were expecting and now it’s just funny to watch the mayhem.

Her relationship ship with the morally grey fallen Crowther Prince is an intense soul bond and while I love love love the two of them together, I don’t know if I’m rooting for them to end up together or for her to go fully female rage mode and get revenge on them all.

The emporium is intense and dangerous and tensions could be felt like the book was a living breathing thing. I didn’t know what to expect and it delivered on the darkness a thousand fold.

My only caveat is I wish this could have been one giant book and I had more pages to read!
