This book went straight to the top of my reading pile as soon as I got it and I absolutely devoured it in a day. I honestly couldn't put it down. I don't know how Ava does it but these books just get better and better. I am obsessed with these characters.

This is book 3. It picks up straight from where book 2 finished and has an even darker edge to it as we enter The Emporium. The tension and action in this book hits a new high. I think I was on the edge of my seat for pretty much the whole book! Everyone is running out of time. Nelle only has two weeks to escape from Greysen and his family. The Crowthers desperately need to secure their Goods Appraisal by a Horned God and seem to be prepared to go to any lengths to get what they want.
The world building is incredibly intricate and so immersive. The narrative is richly layered with so many nuggets of information, but it never feels heavy or overloaded . I just find myself getting completely swept up in the story and feeling everything the characters feel.

The level of characterisation just blows me away - so many secondary characters that have significant parts to play in the wider story. I want to know more about every single one. The secrets, betrayals and mysteries seem to go even deeper than before. Any reveals we get or information about Nelle and Greysen's families always has the feel of being just the tip of the iceberg! There is so much more to be revealed.

I love how the dynamics between Nelle and Greysen continue to develop and evolve. I loved the yearning and tension between them. And the banter, as ever, is just fantastic. Despite everything she is going through Nelle issues brave and determind. I love her strength and refusal to bow down to anyone. Greysen is walking a fine line between protecting Nelle and supporting his family. He always seems so weighed with all his responsibilities.

I loved the introduction of Florin and his shop - what a fantastic character. Sirrus continues to be a major player in everything but we do get some intriguing reveals. He's a part of everything yet is still such an enigma and is still surrounded by so many secrets. I can't wait to find out what his true intentions are.

The Emporium was so shocking and scary. It gave me chills. Such a sinister, dark, degrading place. I don't even know where to begin with the Crowthers and their insidious plan. Valerie hit a new level as top villain for me, with Jett not far behind. I genuinely don't think I breathed through those chapters. The tension was off the scale!

The ending floored me! I won't give you spoilers but it left me feeling anxious for what will happen next. I'm trusting the process! I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.

This series is completely addictive and unique. If you love dark fantasy/ romantasy then read these books!

A huge thank you to Ava Larksen and Meg at Literary Inspired for the privilege of reading an advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own and honestly/voluntarily given.

Oh my God, I’m so grateful to have once again received my ARC for the Of Crows and Thorns saga, thanks to @avalarksen and @literaryinspired. I have been extremely invested in this story that nothing I read in between can compare to it. I truly have a soft spot for Graysen and Nelle.
I was waiting to receive Caged by Fallen Crows : Part two, and I inhaled it the second I got my hands on it. It was even better than I expected. It really gave me the emotions I experienced while reading the very first book of the series. I loved every second of it. I was on pins and needles reading each page, the thrill, the action, the emotions, and most importantly, the secrets. These families have so many secrets.
I love how the bond between Nelle and Graysen works. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I was so scared for Graysen, and he really shocked me with his actions at the end of the book, the man that you are, Graysen Crowther. And Nelle, what a brave girl. I’m so happy she is this fierce and proud, and the fact that she bows to literally NO ONE, I hope she finds her way out very soon.
I like how this book gives us more information about different characters, uncovering secrets, especially the ones about Graysen and Nelle’s parents. But there’s still so much to learn. I enjoyed the parts with Florin, he was fun :))
The Emporium had me so shocked. It was horribly scary, and the Crowthers’ plan made it a lot more frightful. I just wanted to kill Jett with my own hands.
Honestly, Sirro has got my attention, and I really want to learn about his secrets. He is everywhere and knows too much, but I still can’t understand his intentions. And the Alverac!!! It amazes me how we still don’t know exactly what’s going to happen once it’s enabled. I’m sooo curious.

This was dark, sharp, and tense in exactly the way I wanted from a romantasy sequel. I will definitely reread a lot it because it was just sooooooooo good, I can’t get enough of it. Honestly, what might happen to Graysen really scares me. Can’t wait to see what’s still to come.

I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a dark romantasy with a good balance of action scenes, suspense, a magical bond, a brave FMC and an intrepid MMC. You should absolutely read this book.

Contains some minor spoilers!!! As soon as I got this ARC, I couldn’t put it down. I genuinely didn’t sleep just to finish it because I’ve been obsessed with this saga since the first book, and this one somehow became my favorite so far. What I love the most is how unpredictable everything feels. This saga keeps evolving in ways I never see coming, nothing is ever exactly what it seems, and yet it never feels boring or too heavy. There are so many secrets, so many mysteries, and it feels like everything is building toward something huge, but the romance is always still at the center. Gray and Nelle keep getting better and better with every book. Their banter is still so good, their tension is hot and sensual, but in this book their bond also feels more stable and solid. Gray’s protective instinct is stronger than anything else. It doesn’t matter where he is, what is happening, or if the world around him is burning, his first thought is always Nelle. And still, he remains so enigmatic that I can never fully guess his next move. Nelle is also growing so much. She is a strong heroine, and even when her circumstances are not in her favor, she never feels weak. She bows to no one, and she never will. I also loved how openly she owns her sensuality and desires without shame. It felt so refreshing. And the love confession? Unexpected, sweet, tender, and passionate at the same time. I loved it. We also get more of the world, the power dynamics, the mysteries, and Florin, who was such an interesting new presence. I loved that the secondary characters feel alive too. Nelle and Gray are always the center, obviously, but I would absolutely read a full book about Tabitha and Varen. The atmosphere is dark, sensual, and so unique. Ava Larksen’s writing feels immersive and personal without ever making the lore feel too heavy, and the world is full of creatures, abilities, and details I haven’t seen anywhere else. I still can’t figure out Sirro and I can’t wait to find more about him.  Usually I don’t remember many names, but here everyone feels so alive that it is impossible to forget them. I can’t wait for the next book. I need to know where this saga is going.

Sleep, work, family ... who has time for these things when you have a book like Caged by Fallen Crows (Part Two) to devour. Honestly, Ava, I think you may be trying to kill me! But in the same breathe, thank you anf Literary Inspired so much for the ARC copy if this massively anticipated book.

Where to start, the concept of this series is a total, mind blowing breathe of fresh air. Set in (sort of) our world, we have a layer of paranormal/fantasy hidden below standard mortal life. Family 'Houses' are set out in a complex hierarchy that fundamentally exist to serve 'the Horned Gods' - an array of powerful supernatural creatures, with massively varying traits and skills. The Horned Gods aren't particularly good guys, and by association, nether are the families that serve them. But that's where Ava's fantastic character studies come in, as whilst there are certainly villains in this society, there is a huge amount of good too.

The main characters, Nelle and Gray are beautifully developed. Gray carries the weight of the world, brutal when he needs to be but with a heart of gold and so many impossible choices. Nelle is an utter queen - even fending off attacks from every angle, she is cunning but also compassionate and totally determined. Full of fury and heartbreak, love and spite.

Whereas the first part of Caged by Fallen Crows was setting things up, this book knocked it out the park. We visit the Emporium, are back down in the catacombs and trawl through the markets of Ascendria. The yearning is high, the fight scenes are beautifully choreographed, the world building is rich, the supporting characters well developed and the editing is tight.

If you love dark fantasy romance, but are bored with the usual offerings, look no further because Ava has got you covered and the Of Crowns and Thorns Saga is for you!

✨Caged By Fallen Crows: Part Two✨

I LOVE GRAYSEN. I love this SERIES. It was SO good to be back in this dark urban romantic fantasy series by Ava. I truly don’t know how she packs so much in such a short timeframe, but it’s impressive, intense, antagonizing, beautiful, and powerful.

CBFC is book 3 in the Of Crows and Thorns saga and part two of the time before Nelle turns 20. This book takes place immediately after part one and continues on the suspenseful trajectory and twisted trials between the Crowthers and Horned Gods. Nelle and Graysen are suspended in their emotions between enemies, allis, and something more. Something lovely and something ancient. Through these pages, Nelle finally experiences the opportunity to save herself. Her feminine rage rises to the surface and allows her to stand firm on her own despite her magic and being alone. We get more plot twists, betrayals, reveals, more secrets and mystery, deeper scheming, and more questions to consider. This book is JAM PACKED.

I love this couple. And learning more and more about the Crowther boys, the bread crumbs related to their mother, and the cunning of the gods and politics is just so fun and stressful! I cannot wait for more. I cannot wait for Graysen and Nelle to come together again. And, after that ending, I’m so terrified and eager for what’s going to happen next. This is one of my favorite series!

Tropes you may find in CBFC is forced proximity, hidden identities, plot twists, political intrigue, female rage, yearning, no spice in THIS book, morally black & protective MMC, unique bonds and magic, underworld society, dark urban fantasy, action-packed, and so so much more!

Ava, thank you for letting me continue to be on your arc team. I love this series, Nelle, and Graysen so much.

Ava, you have been and will always be my favorite author. I received this copy through Literary Inspired and was so excited to dive back into the world of the Horned Gods and the Houses with Nelle and Graysen.

This book, which is really the end of book 2 split into 2 halves, is fast-paced yet takes place over the course of just a few days. Every breath and reaction and thought from our MCs has been accounted for. It’s something I love about Ava’s writing because I’m so immersed, so enthralled by these characters and their experiences.

The plot of this book follows Nelle and Graysen as they uncover old secrets from Tabitha’s past, and the mystery continues to grow even as we learn more about her motivations and actions long ago. (Even those who were lucky enough to read Tabby and Varen’s book on the orange website are mostly in the dark - but that’s what makes the world so lush, it’s been thought out in entire novels already. Take Zielenski and Lila, Penn and Kenton, for example. There’s so much subtext between their interactions that, as a reader, you can just tell they’ve got their own rich stories to add to this universe).

Ava handles exposition so well, because it’s steeped into the plot itself, you don’t learn anything without purpose, and she’s so thoughtful about how our two characters’ experiences weave together. I love the connection between Graysen and Nelle, and I love them when they’re apart too, this is the strength of this installation of their story: we truly get to see the growth of these characters shine in the absence of the other.

I’m very excited for the next book in the series as it’s now reached the point in the plot that those who’ve followed Ava from the orange app have yet to read.

Go Ava!!! Rooting for you always!

A princess from a Great House. And a fallen prince.

Where do I even begin...

One day? Seriously??? We spent the entire book in a single day? At this point, I’m genuinely hoping both me and the rest of the characters survive long enough to see Nelle’s twentieth birthday.

But all jokes aside, I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. The drama level somehow got even HIGHER, and for every answer we get, I end up with ten new questions. I absolutely love the mythology, the bestiary, and all the magical artifacts in this world. Even the tiniest details end up becoming incredibly important later on, and I’m obsessed with that.

And how many times did I want to throw my Kindle at the wall because of Graysen’s brothers and his aunt? Valarie is truly something else. I can understand the Crowthers’ motivations, their desire for revenge, and even their attempts to silence their guilt. But everything this woman does is completely unforgivable. When are people finally going to pull their heads out of the sand and stand up to her? At this point, she’s the real villain of the story for me.

Now for the good part. Finally. FINALLY Graysen got his act together! Now I just need Nelle to stop lying to herself and forgive him, because honestly, the man has already proven himself. No more groveling required. I’m ready for this power couple to show everyone exactly who they’re dealing with.

And that ending?! I desperately need the next book right now!!!

Thanks to Ava Larksen and Literary Inspired for the ARC 💛

I genuinely don’t know how Ava Larksen keeps making me more invested in this series with every book, but here we are.

The deeper we get into the lore, the Houses, and all the family secrets, the more obsessed I become. There is so much happening and shared backstory between the side characters. I keep telling myself I’ll stop making theories, and then another reveal happens and I’m right back at it.

Nelle and Graysen continue to be one of my favourite parts of the series. The banter is still top tier, the tension is still there, and I was completely invested in every scene they shared. I’m also really interested in the brothers and their relationships (hopefully we’ll get to their stories eventually 👀). I hate their aunt though, I was trying to justify her actions in the previous books but in this one… no way. 😡

And that ending? Once again, I have questions, concerns, and an urgent need for the next book. 😭

Thank you to Ava Larksen and Literary Inspired for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 🧡

ARC review

THIS MADE ME SCREAM, CRY, RAGE...
guys this series is actually my moral dilemma because every time I get furious at the way his family is acting, I also kind of understand why they're acting that way.😭 The author does a great job of making the conflict feel complicated rather than purely black and white.

What I especially liked about this installment was that it really showed how all of the siblings are struggling in their own ways. Beneath the anger, denial, and terrible decisions, they're all slowly breaking under the weight of everything that's happened. It doesn't excuse their actions, but it does make them feel painfully human.
except the aunt. NEVER THE AUNT.

And that ending? FINALLY.
After all that suffering, frustration, and me wanting to throw this book across the room, we finally got somewhere.
Now I just need my girl to get her power back

Thank you to the author/publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This series has me in an absolute chokehold! I binged this book in two days because I simply couldn't put it down.

Nelle remains one of my all time favorite FMCs. Even with so much of her power stripped away, she still bows to no one. The relationship between Nelle and Grayson is incredibly complex and packed with soooooo much tension.

The world building continues to be one of my favorite parts It's unique, immersive, and unlike anything else I've read. Even the side characters are so well thought out I’d love to see spin offs of this series with them 🤞I also loved the recurring question woven throughout the story of how far would you go to save the people you love, and what would you be willing to sacrifice along the way?

The plot moves at a perfect pace. This series is completely addictive, and I'll be thinking about this book daily until the final book in the series is released.

The Crowthers’ need a Goods Appraisal before the Witches Ball or their plan is in ruins. They also need Brangwene’s Hjarte to complete the plan from Nelle’s father but to hand it over would destroy the Wycthorn line. With the plan in place, they take Nelle to the Emporium but Nelle Wychthorn bows to no one and the Crowthers’ should remember that lesson well.

Secrets, betrayal, suspense, action, laughter, tears, deceit, and more await. Nelle and Graysen’s slow burn romance is one for the ages! I couldn’t wait for this installment, and it didn’t disappoint! Highly recommend reading the other books first for context, but this one will blow you away. Florin was a blast to read about! Can’t wait to find out more about Sirro, Florin, and of course Nelle and Graysen’s fate. Anxiously awaiting more!

Thank you so so much for the ARC of this book. I have been obsessed with this series since the first page of book 1.

I am unwell. I have yet to understand how each book is as amazing as it is. I just get sucked in and don't ever want it to stop. My heart constantly hearts and I just can't even. Graysen and Nelle's relationship is everything to me. From book 1 to where we are now, I can't get over them. This book has also made me want know so many more things about the other characters. We are getting so many little tidbits that I know will all fit together in the end but I want so many backstories or maybe even individual books for all the brothers?

I highly recommend this whole series and will be eagerly awaiting book 4.

In this installment of the series, a lot of layers are woven intrinsically together. Secrets resurface, and pieces of the past are revealed. This part is very heavy on worldbuilding, really clicking previous questions of the story into place.

The way the brothers deal with the plan, shows that they’re not the inherently bad people they tend the world to see. There is a reasoning behind it, and you feel the conflict they are dealing with. Except for the aunt…

There is a lot of action in this book as Graysen tries to finish the mission Sirro gave him, and the trip to The Emporium was wicked and scary. Nelle’s fear cuts deep.

The ending left me on the edge of my chair. I’m in awe of Ava’s storytelling.

First, I'd like to thank LiteraryInspiredARCs for the ARC. It's such an act of trust to deliver something to early readers, and I want to honor that.

This series is so much fun, and I am here to stay for Nelle and Graysen's story. I still at times feel overwhelmed by the pacing - this book covers a span of about 24 hours at a break-neck pace, and at other times the detail feels overwhelming. However, I am never lost in the plot, always understand the shifting dynamics between characters, and appreciate the well-developed world and ideology of the series. Everyone has their guilty pleasure, and Of Crows and Thorns is--unabashedly--mine.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was an enjoyable read that kept me engaged throughout. The characters were compelling, the chemistry was strong, and the story balanced romance and tension well.

I especially enjoyed the emotional moments and the developing relationships. Getting more indepth with the past kept me from putting the book down. While I would have liked a little more depth in some areas of the plot and character development, it didn't take away from my overall enjoyment.

Overall, this was a solid read that left me interested in reading more from Ava Larksen in the future.

Oh my gosh, where do I even start!?
Book 3 of Nelle’s story did not disappoint and I feel like a flew through this book. There’s a lot of crumbs in this book and I feel like we’re slowly starting to peel back the layers on the whole mystery surrounding the Crowther matriarch. What’s her connection to Sirro? Who has her? What did she forget? This is one of the few series where I feel like I genuinely don’t know what’s going to happen and that’s so rare! I did hope to get a little more on Nelle’s connection to Silas Boon, the anticipation is killing me! Can’t wait for the next book! 10/10 read

This book was brutal. I have to give it to the covers… they really represent the books nicely. Part one was light and funny, this made me want to throw my Kobo at the wall several times.

The tension and yearning was wonderfully written.
The dark was really getting to me.
As we move along the series, the characters are gaining dimensions and it really is the “well it kinda makes sense” for all sides.
As someone who reads and listens to A LOT of books, the magic/paranormal system is so refreshing.

I can’t wait to read the next book, the story got me.

Man. This has been such an incredible journey, and to know I’m that much closer to this story’s end is gut wrenching. I love Graysen and Nelle. Their relationship is so unique, the world building is stunning, and the politics and mystery of what happened to Graysen’s mother continues to spiral.

SO many truths are being revealed. Everything is just so complicated. And love makes you do some really, really stupid shit.

I need the next book IMMEDIATELY. I have questions and godsdammit I NEED ANSWERS.

Thank you Ava Larksen for yet a masterpiece. This is the third book in the Of Crows and Thorns Saga. And this one is as good as the first two. I love this series. It is Dark, the FMC is badass with something stirring inside her. The MMC is cruel yet does everything for what is his. The story continues where it ended in book two. And ends with a cliffhanger to be revealed in book four. I hope the book is coming soon. I can't wait to know where this story ends.

So, I feel like Ive grown to be a part of this group of characters since I've been on their journey with them from Book 1. It's dark, sharp, and brimming with tension. I loved seeing Nelle push her boundaries. They use her as weaponized leverage with time ticking away. The emporium had a dark pull to it. Battle scenes are eye popping. The mystery of Greysen's mom still lingers. The Horned God's have me so intrigued.
