Kai

Control is all I have left. After losing my parents young and clawing my way out of foster care, I built my life on flawless vocals and iron discipline.

On stage with Eclipse, I play along with the fanservice—those charged glances, and almost kisses with Luca Clark that send the crowd wild and spawn endless “Kuca” edits.

But off stage, he’s my always late, always smirking, always acting like fame is a game he’s already won. When the label demands we fake a relationship to claw back our slipping popularity, I want to refuse.

But the more we pretend—staged dates, scripted touches—the harder it gets to pretend I don’t feel the spark. And I hate that most of all.

Luca

The stage is where I come lights, screams, the rush of being adored. Kai Jung? He’s the rigid perfectionist who treats me like a walking PR disaster.

We amp up the flirtation during shows because it sells, but the second the lights go down, I’d rather punch him than kiss him.

Until management drops the fake date each other or watch the band implode. Fine. I can act. I can touch him like I mean it. I can lean in, whisper in his ear, make it look real.

But tour buses and shared hotel rooms strip away the act, revealing the guarded man beneath his armor. Breaking through those walls feels dangerous…and addictive. What I thought was pure loathing might be the most honest thing I’ve ever chased.

In the glare of cameras and the roar of crowds, two enemies are about to discover that the hottest performances happen when no one’s watching. Spotlight Hearts is a steamy, slow-burn MM enemies-to-lovers, fake dating romance about faking it until you can’t fake it anymore.

It is fortunate that I stumbled upon Kit Jade 'by accident' on a site.

The writing style is so incredibly good. I can completely immerse myself in the books.
From the first to the last page, I am 'grabbed' by the story, the characters, and the emotions in the books.

The beauty of Kit Jade is that the bar is set high, yet every book lives up to it. It has not yet happened to me that a book is 'less' good than the previous one.

💞Thank you to the Author for the opportunity to read and review this ARC💖

This is my third book by Kit Jade and once again I'm pleasantly surprised by how unique her stories are.

This one is a light and spicy MM rock star romance with little angst, told from dual POV, 1st person.

Kai and Luca are the band leaders of 'Eclipse' and couldn’t be more different. Luca is a typical nepo baby with a famous father - he practically grew up backstage - and his name paved an easy path into show business for him. He’s laid-back, relaxed and not too particular about punctuality.

This really bothers his perfectionist, ambitious bandmate Kai, who comes from foster care and had to work hard to earn his place in the band.

On stage, the two act flirty and touchy-feely with each other, fueling fans’ rumors that there’s more going on between them.

That’s what management wants.

But off stage they can't stand each other and constantly clash.

Be ready for

✅ hate to love

✅ forced proximity

✅ fake dating

✅ slow burn

✅ delicious spice 🌶️

I've never read a book with so much sexual tension between the main characters. The first half of the book is sweet, hot torture and the build up to the first physical encounter is insane!

I'd stopped caring much about spice in books a while ago, because everything had started to feel so repetitive.

But oh boy, there was nothing repetitive here!

On stage, their provocative choreography, combined with the adrenaline rush of the performance, creates a sizzling tension between them that makes not only their fans giddy.

The forced proximity of the tour bus and the pressure from management to fake a relationship do little to cool the temper and the pent up frustration starts to feel really close to lust.

The slightest, accidental touch suddenly feels like an electric shock and every intense gaze sets the other's body on fire.

I was completely hooked by the story, from start to finish.

Kit Jade has become author whose books I’ll buy right away and I’m going to read everything else she writes!

This is a series starter, and an enemies-to-lovers MM romance about two members of the band, Eclipse. Kai grew up in foster care and learned early on that he often gets left behind, so he protects himself by keeping his guard up. Luca is the son of a famous musician and wants to prove he earned his fame on his own, not just because of his family name. Their record label wants to use their connection on stage to boost sales, but that’s tough when they don’t get along—or maybe they do. As their staged interactions start to feel real, will they admit how they really feel, or will their old insecurities get in the way of a real relationship?
I liked the idea behind the story, but the pacing felt uneven—sometimes slow, sometimes rushed. The second half had plenty of spice, which I enjoyed, but not much else going on. The chemistry between the characters was good, but their quick shift from enemies to lovers and the ongoing pressure from their record label didn’t feel believable. Usually, labels focus more on new music than on personal drama. The fallout from pretending about their relationship could have been solved with a press release, and their need to keep things private didn’t seem realistic for people in the spotlight. Overall, it was an easy read, but I think there’s room for improvement. I hope the author’s next book is more balanced. That’s a +6 stars book!

I loved every single book of Kit Jade so I can confidently say this book is my favorite!

Kai & Luca are bandmates. In real life they hate each others.
Kai hate Luca’s nonchalance and the fact he is late to everything. Not taking anything seriously. Part of the band bc he is a nepo baby.
Luca hates how controlled and uptight is Kai.

But for PR obligations they have to constantly flirt/pretend they are attracted to each other that maybe they are in a relationship that maybe there is more…

And GOSH THE TENSION!!!
The chemistry between both MMCs is off the charts!

And then when one of them is actually yearning for the other one?????

Yep I was hooked from the first chapter. Didn’t want the book to finish.

Oh remember when I said they need to flirt hard on stage? What if I tell you He made him c*me on stage? And yes they were still cursing each other at that time. And yes it was full intentional.

Just go read this book!!

Kit Jade has become one of my instant buy authors! Every book I read just gets better and better! This one was fantastic! It had all my favorite tropes- enemies to lovers, rockstars, & fake dating!

Kai and Luca have so much chemistry from the very beginning. You can feel the tension rolling off of them and see the sparks igniting every time they interact on stage. Being forced to fake a relationship by their manager, the lust they’ve been fighting reaches a boiling point. Feelings start to become real and they can’t fight it anymore.

There were definitely moments when I wanted to grab Kai and shake him or knock some sense into him. He made me angry a couple times with how he treated Luca. Thankfully, Luca was able to see through his pushing him away and recognize the fear. Once they finally get their act together, the passion and care they show is each other is beautiful. I loved that they couldn’t keep their hands to theirselves and wanted to spend every spare moment together. I was so glad they finally stood up their manager together! I can’t wait to see what happens with Micheal and Min-ho! I really hope we get Min-ho & his bodyguards story next!

Kit Jade always knows how to steal my heart ❤️ The freaking tension between these two MCs, I was absolutely living for. Lower on the angst scale but still filled with hot drama -a toxic clingy ex-girlfriend and a manipulative manager who pushes the fake relationship agenda between the two MCs.
Meet Kai and Luca, two band mates that absolutely loathe each other. Kai is the picture of control, he's worked his way to the top after losing everything during his childhood. No family left, aged out of the foster system, he's worked too hard to let the band fail.
Luca is his complete opposite, a nepo-baby, carefree, always late. He knows Kai can't stand him, but the label wants a performance. The fans ship them together, so they work hard to put on the intimate act.
But underneath it all is the tension, the yearning, the what if it could be more? These two push and pull against each other while being egged on by their management to make the fantasy —reality. The desire and want between them boils over into hot steamy moments, and loathing eventually turns to love. Spotlight Hearts is a fun rockstar romance that brings the banter and the heat and I loved every bit of it ❤️

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of Spotlight Hearts.

Over the last year, Kit Jade has easily become one of my favorite authors. Her books are always quick, enjoyable reads that I love to sandwich between some of my heavier reads, and this was no exception.

Kai and Luca had such a fun dynamic from the very beginning. While I wouldn't necessarily categorize them as enemies-to-lovers, their mutual dislike of each other made for some fantastic banter. Their back-and-forth interactions kept me entertained throughout the entire story.

This rock-star romance follows bandmates Kai and Luca as they're forced into a fake relationship for publicity purposes. As expected, their fake romance slowly turns into something very real, and watching that transition unfold was so much fun. I especially loved the subtle character moments woven throughout the story. Luca uses humor as a shield, while Kai is carrying the weight of not wanting to ruin the opportunity he's worked so hard for. Those layers added depth to both characters and made their relationship feel authentic.

Overall, this was a great read and I'm already excited for book two!

MC's Kai & Luca

Kai, a foster kid, and Luca, the son of a pop star, have learn to mostly tolerate each other since they are in the same band: each of them feel they have something to prove.

They loathe each other, but thanks to their toxic management, they’re not only in forced proximity—they are in a situation with forced intimacy. What follows is a compelling enemies-to-lovers journey that felt both moving and believable.

Not only a romance, the book takes a look at how toxic systems and relationships prey on people who are already troubled, vulnerable, or hurting. Kai and Luca are both caught in that cycle, but together they begin to find a way out, lifting each other up along the way.

Their journey was emotional, messy, and ultimately hopeful. I really enjoyed watching them find strength in each other while learning to break free from the people and systems that were hurting them.

4/5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

ARC Review
Spotlight Hearts is book one in the Fame & Fire series written by Kit Jade

This was so ridiculously good. I'm a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, and this delivered. We have two bandmates who absolutely cannot stand each other... except for the tiny problem that they seem to think about each other all the time. Suspicious behaviour, if you ask me.

The band's management decides the best way to keep them on top is to have Kai and Luca lean into their chemistry for the fans. Add a little fake dating to the mix—because that never ends badly, right? Spoiler: feelings happen. A lot of feelings. The tension between Kai and Luca was absolutely delicious, and once I started reading, there was no chance I was putting this book down.

The banter was sharp, the angst hit just right, and together they made this ridiculously easy to get invested in. The chemistry was doing all the heavy lifting—in the romance, in the friendships, in every interaction. And Kai and Luca? Your Honor, I love them.

Spotlight Hearts is book one in the Fame & Fire series written by Kit Jade.

💜 rockstars
💜 painful pasts
💜 enemies to lovers
💜 forced proximity
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spice

Kai loves being on stage. Feeling the lights and hearing the cheers. The set is run flawlessly. The choreography is hit perfectly and Luca is coming closer to him, their mics so close to each other. The crowd is going wild. But, it’s all just the choreography. He can’t stand Luca. But when the label pushes more, what is he going to do? Can they keep faking it onstage? Will the fan service keep boosting their sales?

This was a fun start to a new series. I liked how all of the characters were introduced throughout the book. It helped with the world building and kept it from feeling like it was forced. This was also written not like your typical rockstar romance either, which I also liked. I really enjoyed the story and devoured it pretty quickly. Can’t wait for the next one to be released.

Okay Kit Jade! Whatever magic you put into this book worked for me. Kit Jade is officially an auto-read author for me now. Her books are always quick, enjoyable reads just like this one.

This rock-star romance follows Kai and Luca who are forced into a fake relationship for publicity purposes. Kai & Luca are bandmates. In real life they hate each other. Kai is always controlled since losing everything during his childhood. Luca is the complete opposite, a nepo-baby and carefree.

Kai and Luca's hate-to-lovers was natural and progressed well. The tension (OFF THE CHARTS) and foreplay made the chemistry between the two fire. The push and pull against each other had me yelling at them. As expected, their fake romance slowly turns from hate to love.

Spotlight Hearts is book one in the Fame & Fire series. I really enjoyed the story. If you like: rockstars, painful pasts, hate to lovers, fake dating, SPICE, mm romance. Then you’ll love this. 4/5

I love an enemies to lovers trope and Kit Jade does this exceptionally well. I was so totally into this story.

I loved Luca and Kai and the push and pull between them. These two are in a band together where Kai is the ‘I don’t put a foot wrong and always on time’ while Luca is the definition (at least according to Kai) of a spoilt child.

But when their attraction starts to unfold, it’s so deliciously sweet and it makes you love these two even more. I liked the pacing of this book. I liked that it wasn’t insta love and that the animosity took up a decent amount of pages. That’s what I like to read.

These two really got me to love them throughout the pages and i can’t wait to see them appear in future books of this series.

I will always read anything Kit Jade writes without hesitation and am anxiously waiting for her next book.

The line between hate and love is thin

Whew! This is my first book by this author but it definitely won't be my last.

Kai and Luca definitely did not like each other at the beginning. However, fans loved them together and their manager decided he would capitalize off that. #Kuca was born and the guys had no choice.

I love a good rockstar romance. The on stage chemistry and tension between these two was fantastic. There was a scene on stage before things became real that was so hot and undeniable. How can you say you are not interested when you cvm in your pants on stage in front of a huge crowd? Yeah you can't.

One nepo baby and one former foster kid realize that they both fought to get where they are. The journeys were different but no less hard.

The hot public claiming moments left me panting and wishing I was them. The heat is high but the love is beautiful.

This was actually so so good! We have two band members who are playing up their chemistry for the fans to keep their band at the top but what they weren’t expecting was their feelings to become true!

Kai despises Luca because he’s a nepo baby who he thinks didn’t have to work to belong and get his place

Their chemistry was sizzling oh my god the push and pull and then having to hype up their fake relationship in the beginning for the fans and their band

What they couldn’t deny is was rhe pull and affection they had for each other

What I loved was when Luca stood up to their manager and said no more pushing their relationship that what they finally had was sacred and they loved each other

This was a quick read but it was really really good!

I can’t wait to see the other band members books!

I really don't know exactly what it is that Kit does here, but it works for me. So well!
Do I usually read sports romances? Not really. Do I read Kit’s? Hell yeah. Because they grab me, won’t let go, and then totally enchant me.
Do I usually read rockstar romances? No. Sorry, but seriously never. I read one a while back and it just felt flat. Did I read Kit’s anyway? Yes. I can’t explain why either. Maybe I’ve developed this kind of primal trust that I’ll love the story, and that’s exactly how it was. I’m blown away, and it was a slow burn, too. But the fire ended up setting my heart ablaze, and what can I say: I love the story. I love the boys and I’m VERY excited for Michael’s story.
So if you’re someone who usually avoids rock stars, you can definitely give this a try and fall in love with it.
Thanks for another book that I (thropewise) didn’t want to read and now love!

4.5⭐️ I love when an author keeps you wondering, but not guessing. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The story of these two came across subtly as two young teens in love, but they weren’t teens. Their lives just projected that youthfulness.

Once they stopped fighting themselves and realized that their dislike for each other wasn’t truly dislike, their world was a better place. The insecurities experienced by both characters felt real on the page. While I was that reader kicking and yelling at them to pull their heads out of their __, I was also cheering them on and smiling when they got it right.

There was a rival-to-lovers overarching trope, but there sub-tropes were what told the story. I can’t wait to read the next story in this series.

Okay, I loved Kit Jade's fun MM sporty romance, but this Rockstar romance just hit a spot I didn't even know was empty. I LOVED it so much!

This book was low angst and lighthearted yet gave me all the feels with the MM fake dating fun. And to top it off, no third act break-up. I ate it all up from beginning to end.

With characters like Kai and Luca, I couldn't help but root for them from the beginning. The banter and tension were priceless. It was an absolute feel-good blast reading this! I can't wait for the next book in this series!

As this is not the first book I have read by this author I just knew I HAD to take my time with it and it was totally worth it. The book is so detailed at times but still fast paced enough to keep you on your toes. You could literally cut the tention between the main characters with smth sharp. I loved their chemistry and couldn't wait until they finally lost control. Something else I really enjoyed was that the author was very descriptive when one of the characters was thinking, you could literally feel their inner struggles at times. It was fantastic when everything finally fell into place for them. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I have read all of Kit Jade’s books and this one is by far my favorite. The push and pull was just the right amount and the love these two feel for each other is *chefs kiss*. I read this book in less than a day because I just couldn’t put it down. I felt all of the emotions throughout the whole book and was honestly cheering for them so hard. The angst is on the lower side which is always a nice break when so many books have high angst lately. Overall Kit Jade is truly an amazing writer and Kai and Luca will be sticking in my head for a very long time!

Kit Jade can write a great book.
Luca and Kai's story is amazing. This story was well written. You can tell how much they both felt about each other and the tension was perfect.

If you like MM but throw in fishnet crop top and tight pants. With heat that is just the right amount. Yesss please. I didn't like 2 of the side characters because they were just eww.

But I will definitely be adding this beauty to my physical library

I lean in just enough for only him to hear, voice low. “Try not to blush when I put my hand on your throat this time, princess.”

Spotlight Hearts was an entertaining slow-burn romance filled with tension, humor, and plenty of chemistry. Kai and Luca’s enemies-to-lovers journey felt natural, with their fake relationship forcing them to confront feelings neither wanted to admit.

I especially enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look at idol life and the contrast between Kai’s need for control and Luca’s carefree personality. Their emotional growth and evolving connection kept me invested from beginning to end.

A sweet, steamy, and engaging MM romance that will definitely appeal to fans of fake dating and opposites-attract stories.

Oh I loved this so much. Kai and Luca are in denial about the feelings they have for each other and are having to play a fake couple on stage. So the tension and foreplay and next level of chemistry between the two is off the charts. The way they both wanted each other but then got in their own head about it. I was ready to yell at both of them at different points throughout the book. I could not put it down. It was funny, and hot, and oh so sweet at the end. Cannot wait to see more of them when the rest of the boys get their own story. Definitely well worth a read and such a beautiful story.

Kai and Luca, having grown up in very different circumstances, approach their career in a very popular band very differently. This causes a lot of believable friction between them, which is pushed even further by how far Harry pushes them in the name of fan service. Once they begin to know and appreciate each other better, their animosity slowly becomes attraction. The toxic people around them were particularly well thought out, which were so strong that for me a bit of that ick was left influencing my last feelings about the book. The other characters promise an excellent continuation of this series.

So cute and sweet
This enemies to lovers was a spicy yet fluffy reading

You kane Kai who is the leader of the band and to everybody else he's just this all-around kind of hot boy that just wants to do what he wants but he is having to perform with Luca who is one of the band members and they pretty much hate each other and they have to fake it the whole time but is it really fake after a little while I don't think it seems that way and it walks you through the trying times of what to do when you think you're falling for your enemy but you don't want to.

Spotlight Hearts is such a sweet boy band music romance! It perfectly nails the enemies-to-lovers trope. Kai and Luca are forced to fake a relationship on stage even though they absolutely can't stand each other—until that hate slowly turns into real love. It was so much fun to watch their dynamic, and the story is packed with an incredible amount of UST (unresolved sexual tension)! It’s an awesome read. Highly recommend! 🎶❤️

Kit Jade has done it again. 2 MMCs that can't stand each other but are pushed together by their band manager to play for the cameras. But what happens when it starts to become real? You get a great story of how Luca and Kai become #Kuca for reals. Love the dynamic between these two and couldnt put it down.

Kit continues to bring the heat with Spotlight Hearts in the new Fame and Fire series. Kai and Luca are part of the group Eclipse. When record execs demand more heat and chemistry from them for ‘promotional purposes’, these two have to figure out how to put their differences aside or risk their careers. Kuca has me rooting for them while also wanting to serve up a week old back of dirty gym socks to their manager. Looking forward to seeing what comes next from this series.
