Love is patient and love is kind. That’s what I thought when I read Eli and Nora’s story. Eli showed up for Nora consistently in the small moments. He showed her how love could be that she was wrong on how she thought it was. Nora didn’t just find a steady love in Willow Creek she found a family as well. She and Eli over came their past and in the end didn’t let it define their future. If you love hallmark movies where you can feel every emotion that the characters feel then this book is for you. Maribelle McCrea always has a way of making you feel that southern charm and hospitality with her words that pour off the pages and words of clean love stories that pull at your heart strings!
Nora moved to Willow Creek and is in charge of marketing their Valentine event. She's struggled with relationships and tries to help, but not get involved. Eli is a firefighter and volunteers to help her with the event. He also has been wary of past relationships. Can they make the event happen successfully? Will they grow closer or is their pasts too much for them to handle?
The writing was a little different than what I'm used to. I did struggle reading it and I had to read slower for the content. It was interesting to see how much the past can affect the current and the future. But, small town living, you definitely end up getting support that you don't get in a larger city. This does deal with relationship struggles and how we can successfully overcome the past.

Finding your person This is a sweet opposites attract quick read that is a kisses only story featuring Nora and Eli. Nora comes to Willow Creek for work and ends up in charge of the towns Valentine event. She’s rigid, methodical, no nonsense and forever alert, afraid to stay too long anywhere as she may find herself wanting to linger. Firefighter Eli has a big heart but Nora is grumpy to his sunshine and she’s not always pleasant around him. But his interest is piqued, could he possibly change her outlook on love? Will Nora allow herself to fall for this wonderful man and stay in Willow Creek? With issues to overcome and an outside influence trying to interfere, will they find happiness together?
This wasn’t a bad book at all, but it wasn’t fully for me. I really liked Eli and Nora and how they connected over coming from the same city and dealing with similar struggles. Their dynamic was sweet, and I didn’t miss the spice.
That said, the pacing felt slow, and I didn’t feel very compelled to keep reading. I would have loved a bit more tension or drama, especially regarding the dad. Some of the detailed descriptions felt a little overwhelming at times. Still, it’s a cute and heartfelt story, just one I personally struggled to get into.

This is a sweet opposites attract romance. The author is excellent at providing detailed descriptions of the environment and characters, so that you can easily visualize what the scenes look and feel like. This is a gentle book, even though the MFC doesn’t like the MMC right off the bat, there are no violent arguments or fights. This book is clean, suitable for most readers, fairly short, and an easy read. If you like romances with the grumpy/sunshine trope, you should like this book. -A sweet, clean romance with all the cozy small-town charm and strong tv movie vibes. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Nora and Eli are two guarded hearts who slowly learn that steady, patient love is worth the risk. I loved the grumpy/sunshine dynamic, the firefighter hero, and the gentle way they overcame their pasts.
A heartfelt, quick read full of family, forgiveness, and a well-earned happily ever after.
This was a very cute little small town read. The characters are likable. The story gave me good feels that I had a smile on my face most of the book (the only moments I didn’t where when I was laughing or making faces because of something that happened). No spice but plenty of sweet tender moments between the MMC & FMC. Maribelle really had you feeling like you were apart of this story. So if you love small town romances and want to read something that just makes you feel good and put a smile on your face give this a read!
Nora is in Willow Creek to help organize and promote their festival. Eli is a fireman who volunteers to help her. From helping with the posters to making her a home cooked meal, Eli was everywhere she was. Nora vowed to never let her walls down and Eli kept trying. Really good main characters with awesome chemistry. The kind of book that makes you want to keep reading to find out how it ends. A sweet, clean, heartwarming romance that will make you sigh. I loved it!!
I highly recommend this exceptionally well-written "grumpy-meets-sunshine" romance. The story follows Nora Reilly, a guarded woman moving to Willow Creek, whose defenses are challenged by Eli Hawthorne, a kind and consistent local firefighter. It is a sweet, closed-door tale exploring themes of trust and found family, featuring a compelling plot and a satisfying happy ending. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a sweet, small town, opposites attract, grumpy-sunshine romance. It's well written, very entertaining and an easy read. I loved the small town, southern charm. This would make the perfect Hallmark style movie. I enjoyed the realistic characters, each was endearing in their own ways. There was enough emotion and struggle to keep the pages turning to the HEA. Great read!
Small towns, firefighters, two disappointed hearts finally getting the chance at a HEA - I couldn´t ask for more than what Eli and Nora´s story offers.
