It started with a drink and ended in a night neither will ever forget.

Calla McClain had done a great number of questionable things in her past, getting drunk at a friend's wedding and winding up in bed with the man she loved should have been a dream come true. Only their one night of mind blowing sex wasn't the only mistake she'd made in her intoxicated stupor.

Waking up hitched to the girl he'd been in love with since they were sixteen suited Jared just fine. He was in no hurry to cut those papers up, no matter how hard the new Mrs. Dumont insisted she was no good for him. He wasn't going to let her keep them apart, and he sure as hell wasn't going to let her walk away now that she belonged to him.

But can Jared accept the demons snapping at Calla's heels? Can he convince her they were perfect for each other? And what will happen when they learn that getting married was the least of their problems?

My review:

So this book I liked, but didn't love. I had a little trouble warming up to Calla initially honestly.

So apparently Jared is a friend of Damon - who is Beth and Cole's adopted son. Calla is Lily and Cole's daughter. Jared has loved her since she was 16 years old, but it seems that Lily kind of brushed his comments off as "he is just joking" and Jared never had the balls to stand up and tell her that he was serious. Apparently she goes off to college and comes back only a shell of herself because something happened to her that we don't find out until much later.

I want to say she is back in town for about a year at the start of the book. Apparently Jared tries to tell her that he wants to be with her when she gets back, but again, she blows him off, so he tries his best to move on and that's where Denise comes in. He dates her for about 6 weeks and just can't do it anymore. Then he decides to hell with it and wants to fight for Calla to give him a chance.

He knelt next to his toolbox and reached inside for his flashlight. His fingers ruled around the first item they touched and a hammer was drawn out. A soft chuckle escaped him at the symbolism; she might have a wall around her, but he had a damn hammer. He was going to smash that motherfucker to the ground.

This all happened by Chapter 2 so after that point is all about Jared trying to break down her walls, then something happens that throws them together and then something else happens that not only seals their fate, but also forces Calla to tell Jared the truth about herself and why she feels so unworthy.

Overall this was a cute and sweet read. Honestly, I could have dealt without Denise being in the story at all. I would have preferred that the hero was celibate that whole time when she initially returned and fought for her then, but I guess I understand because Calla can be a complete bitch and I guess a guy can only take so much, so maybe he felt like he had to try. It's not like he was a manwhore OR that Denise was a part of the story, because she is honestly barely there at all. Certain things about the story I didn't find flowed like I would like. I also felt that the epilogue could have been better and there honestly was like no sex! I have to say maybe like 2 scenes in the beginning? So it's not a steamy book by any means. I did enjoy seeing some of our other couples - Lily and Sloan and Cole and Beth.

Most of all - this book has me really wanting to read Willa and Damon's book. Talk about a great guy.

Be My Baby had me in tears...TEARS PEOPLE!! It was so good. I finished it in one night and believe me...it was so worth the extra shots of espresso today.I could feel all of strong emotions that played out in this book; each perfectly executed and detailed to perfection.

In this novel, Calla and Willa are all grown up and beautiful like their momma, Lily. Calla went off to school and came back a changed woman. Others noticed the change in her but no one knew why. Jared, a childhood friend and Calla's secret love, is determined to find out why and to finally claim her as his. But will her past drive him away or drive her into his arms?

Another 5 Star book from Airicka Phoenix...Of course!!! This author can create really great characters. This is the third book in the series but can stand on its own. You don't have to read the previous books in order to understand, but the previous instalments give you more insight into the characters and their behavior.
Calla McClain is back in her hometown. After a couple of years of living on her own, she comes back with a big secret on her heels. Calla's perfect family reminds her of what she did and how she allowed herself to act and so, she keeps fragments of that part of her life hidden from her parents, her sister and... Jared.
Jared knows Calla since they were kids and with his friend Damon-who happens to be her adopted stepbrother- they were her nemesis. But eventually they grew close and Jared has been harboring feelings for the young woman since his teenage years.
Calla tries to keep herself at a distance, she tries to occupy her time with her mother's store but her own feelings cannot be ignored.
One faithful night brings them together, but at what cost? Will Calla ever accept her mistakes and move on? Will she reveal her heavy secret to Jared and her family? Will they understand or will they be disgusted at her lies?
Airicka Phoenix is one of my favorite authors. Any new title from her is a must read for me. Her characters have depth, they have real emotion and actually act like normal people. They have flaws, the are sometimes ordinary, but that is her secret. Her characters come from life and not some make-believe fantasy. The storyline was great and I have to say that Calla's story got me teary-eyed at some point. That doesn' happen easy for me.
5 Stars from me! Don't miss out on this one. Great continuation to the Baby Saga.

Jared Dumont has been in love with Calla McClain ever since they were kids, but things never quite worked out for them back then. Then, a couples of years later, Calla left for university, and while for Jared, her absence made his heart grow fonder, Calla came back a changed person.

Calla used to be witty and sassy, but now she is a mere shell of herself. She is having a hard time dealing with what happened to her at university, and she is keeping these events a secret. But she is also having a hard time dealing with an very insistent Jared, who wants nothing more than to be with her. Yet, she knows that he deserves better, and even though she is in love with him too, she won’t allow herself to let him in.

“While he was delicious and she was more than happy to lap him up like a strawberry sundae during a heat wave, she wasn’t good for him and he deserved someone not as damaged as she was.”

What I loved about this book:

The feel-good atmosphere
The male main character
The sexy times

What I felt needed improvement:

The plot was a tad predictable but it wasn't a major issue

Be My Baby is your typical feel good read, and I enjoyed the heck out of this book - I read it on one cold Sunday morning under the covers of my bed and it made me feel all warm and fuzzy. To be very honest, it wasn’t a masterpiece where to storyline was concerned (at some point it was actually quite predictable), but I was extremely invested in the characters.

I loved Jared Dumont from the beginning. He was so in love with Calla from the beginning of the book, and wasn’t afraid to show it. Before Calla’s sister Willa gave him a push in the right direction, he wasn’t sure if he would ever be able to conquer Calla’s heart. But even before then, he had been the perfect gentleman: caring and attentive. I mean there’s a snowstorm and he picks up Calla’s mom from her workplace, and goes to Calla’s place to see if she made it home safely - how endearing is that?

“She might have a wall around her, but he had a damn hammer. He was going to smash that motherfucker to the ground.”

I loved that Jared was the hero that was just the right amount of Alpha-male and the right amount of caring. He really fought for Calla and his devotion helped her broke out of her shell and bring her back from whatever dark place she was in since she returned from University a year ago.

“He has even spelled it out for her so there was no mistaking that he wanted her. But how could she be what he wanted when she wasn’t even who she wanted most days?”

I was a bit surprised that there wasn’t much more detail around Calla - sure, her past in an issue that will come up in due time in the book, but apart from the fact that Calla has a great connection to her family and particularly to her sister Willa, and that she owns a local clothing boutique, we do not actually know more about her. She’s this closed off person that’s carrying a lot of guilt and pain, which sometimes leads her to utter pissy remarks to people around her, but she never acted as bad as she believed herself to be.

“She’d gone to university a slutty virgin, which was irony in itself. She had known all the ways to drive a guy crazy without ever having had a cock. Then the whole thing had come around and smacked her in the face.”

Anyway - I just loved how Jared conquered her little by little, and how all of this amounted to some seriously hot steamy scenes. And yeah - there are a few unexpected twists and turns in the story, which kept me quite entertained.

“You tell me not to get invested, but I already am. I’m invested in your smiles and in the sound of your laugh. I’m invested in your scent and the way you make the whole world a little brighter when you walk into a room.”

The writing was good (although I did notice a few issues with the word navel and clientele being spelled “naval” and “cliental” - sorry, those are my pet peeves) and was written in 3rd person, with POVs alternating between Calla and Jared. Since this is the third book in the Baby series, there was also a healthy dose of appearances from past books’ heroines, and they all melt together into a cheerful and entertaining family. This was quite skilfully done, and the characters were just as endearing as in the last books (even if this book actually jumped a generation).

So yeah, if you are looking for a swoonworthy, fun and sexy little read, Be My Baby might be just the thing you need - and will certainly pique your interest in reading about Calla’s sister Willa, and her longterm sweetheart (but not yet) lover Damon.

••*´¨`*•.☆• 5 STAR REVIEW •*´¨`*•.☆•

Calla thinks she is damaged goods, not good enough for any man. Dark secrets from her time at college still haunt her. She refuses to tell anyone what happened, not even her sister. Her Jared has loved Calla since they were teenagers but she’s pushed him away time and time again. When he gets a chance to take her to a wedding he makes sure she can’t refuse his invitation.

That one night will change their lives forever. When Calla’s past comes knocking it’s time for the skeletons to come out of the closet. family knows something changed her while she was away but Calla doesn’t think they can forgive her for what she’s done.

I’ve read several of Airicka Phoenixes books and she didn’t disappoint with this one. Jared and Calla make you want to strangle them one minute and hug them the next. Stubborn and bull headed to a fault which makes them perfect for each other. I literally laughed out loud on several occasions because their conversations were priceless.

Airicka creates characters that are real; they have real problems, and need real love to help them through them. You root for them even when they are being total idiots. My only critique is I didn’t read the first two books so some of the other characters I didn’t know confused me at first. She does explain who they are no worries there it just confused me to begin with.

Once I knew who they were everything fell into place perfectly. It’s still a standalone but I think reading the first two books will help you understand the family dynamics better.

Ms. Phoenix continues the McClain family journey with an amazing story about Calla and Jared. The story is beautifully written in a way that only Airicka knows how. Keeping us hanging on, breaking us, and then putting us back together again...this book was sweet as pie!

When we meet Calla (all grown up and beautiful) there's a hardness there that nobody really knows about. Something in her past has changed her from what she was to this colder person that she is now. Jared, her childhood friend and secret love, picks up on the fact that she's changed, but refuses to give up on what he knows is right.

In a night that will change their lives forever, Calla and Jared will embark on a journey that will teach them both about themselves and how strong love can be.

Airicka writes with just enough steam to keep us...well, you know...but still manages to work in beautifully written characters with an intense storyline. This was a book I couldn't put down. I fell in love with Jared almost instantly (it's an Airicka book boy, what is there NOT to love!!??)

Her cast of supporting characters, most of which we have already met at some point in time in the series, are such a necessary and awesome piece of the story. And, I have to say it, Willa and Damon...OH MY, they are so cute I can barely stand it.

I loved this 3rd book in the series and I look forward to where Airicka takes us in the next installment of the Baby Series.

Damon and Willa are my favorites, but I did enjoy this. I liked Calla and Jared together and I enjoyed them getting used to each other as husband and wife. Her past drama was sad and seemed realistic. I wish Jared hadn't recently dated Denise, but I did like that he only slept with her once because he realized it wasn't going anywhere. In most other books he would have been getting it regularly until he got with the h. I did think the drunken night they got married seemed very unrealistic. They were so wasted they had no memory of the night but the Pastor and Mayor thought they seemed fine. I thought maybe it would turn out they were drugged, but nope. Safety gang safe

I love Jared

Jared has loved Calla for so long. And when Calla told him there would never be a chance for them, he tried to move on. But eventually, he knew no one would ever compare to Calla.

Calla changed when she got back home after being gone for 2 years. She faked it, but people saw especially Jared. And no amount of pushing him away was going to phase him.

But when they both wake up after a night, neither can remember, their married. Not sure how it happened or what led up to it, but Jared wasn't going to waste his chance.

But Callas painful secret is keeping her from really loving Jared, and when she tells him, she's not sure he'll understand or stay. But she doesn't know how strong his love for her is.

Blimey you know how to pack an emotional punch !

Another lovely Story, featuring the McClains of Willow Creek, they are a really tight close knit family, the semantics are a bit odd, but nothing much comes between them.

This is a standalone story, although I recommend reading Sloan and Lily's Book : Forever my Baby. and Cole and Beth's book: Bye Bye Baby. It gives a clearer understanding of not only the main characters but also the peripheral characters.

Willow Creek is a nice quaint little town, where everyone knows everything about everybody. All gossip starts with the town busy body; Georgia May.

So this is about Calla, Cole and Lily's daughter, she is now in her early 20's and all her family have noticed something is not quite right since she came home from school, but Calla was always stubborn and has a big secret.

Jared, Damon's friend from Cole and Beth's story, who has grown up into a fine looking young man, is best friends with Damon and Willa (Calla's sister). Jared has had a thing for Calla since he was 15, as we learn from his story, but Calla came home from College, a different girl, he only has eyes for her, but she thinks she is unworthy of his love.

She tries to push him away, but it seems Jared is just as stubborn as Calla, and they both have trouble hiding their feelings.

I loved how Jared surprised Calla, when they went to a wedding in town, and loved the twist especially as everyone knew about their business in this case before they even did!!

Not sure if that is something I would like to wake up to??

Full Credit to both of them for not taking the easy option.and both working through the situation they found themselves in.

They may have done things in an arse about face way, but their connection was very fierce. I have loved Airicka's writing with all three books in this series, how we get everyone's perspectives, how family prevails over everything and how everyone rallies around to help each other.

Plus the suspense, which keeps the pages turning as the story develops.

The story builds slowly, and through every step you find yourself wishing that things go in their favour.

Loved getting to know Damon and Willa, and feel their book is going to have as much love, passion, and suspense as the others in this series.

Calla's secret is a tough one, as she endured it all by herself, hardening her heart to not allow anyone through the barricades. Although Jared was a little unsure at times, he was a tower of strength when Calla needed it, even if she didn't think she did.

I loved how their relationship developed, they do make a great couple.

Have loved the guys and girls of Willow Creek and I'm sure Damon and Willa's books is going to be as fab.

Yep, another Airicka Phoenix book read within 24 hours. I can't explain it...I'm totally addicted to this series.

You will remember Calla from the other two books, she is Cole and Lily's first daughter. I was a bit worried how this time gap was going to work. But I will be the first to admit that it totally did. In Be My Baby she is all grown up and hiding a dark secret that has changed her from the person she was. Jared you may remember from Bye-Bye Baby, he is Damon's best friend.

This book starts off with quite the bang almost literally. After a rough night, Calla and Jared wake up hungover and in bed together. This doesn't usually sound like a problem, right?! Well for Calla it is. She has spent more of her energy trying to keep Jared at bay because she doesn't think she is good enough for him. Jared on the other hand could not be more elated. He finally has the girl that he has loved for as long as he can remember next to him. What happens next is for you to read, trust me it does not disappoint.

I think this Be My Baby may be my favorite of the series. For some reason I felt more connected to Calla than Beth or Lily. Maybe it's because I sorta read about her growing up? That sounds kinda silly though, right?! She had gone through something very traumatic during her time at college and came back a different Calla. The new Calla does not think she is worthy of a relationship, especially one with Jared. One thing that I really liked about Calla was that she recognized her old self and the stuff that she did that wasn't really a great thing. Throughout this book, you see Calla really come into her own and find herself.

Jared was just great. He put on the swoon when it was needed. He was beyond incredible. The one thing that really stood out was his determination to get the girl. He was also very hardworking and just a stand-up guy.

Calla and Jared had some seriously intense chemistry whirling around in this book. The push and pull they had was mildly angsty and I just devoured it. Seriously, sneak reading at work was totally involved with this book!

I highly recommend all three books in this series if you are looking for a fantastic series that will literally suck you in. And don't get me started on the next one...I CANNOT WAIT for Willa and Damon's story. Counting down the days.

This was another sweet, heartwarming, and touching read. I started this series on a whim because there was something about the cover that kept book 1 in my mind, and I'm so glad I did. With every book I've grown to love the characters more and Be My Baby was a great continuation.

Be My Baby begins quite a few years after where Bye Bye Baby leaves off and centres around Calla's story. I wasn't sure about this development because it skips so many years, but it worked. Calls is fully grown and her own woman in the book. She's had more than her fair share of troubles and the story picks up as she's trying to cope with the consequences.

I will admit that I wasn't sure about the start because of the emotions between Jared and Calla. She came across as cold an it took a while for me to understand the reasons for keeping him at arm's length. However, when Jared started to fight for her, that's when things got interesting. You can't not love Jared and he melts your heart with his actions. He's a solid character that you can rely on and I liked his persistence. There was an obvious spark between Calla and Jared so I was glad to see their happiness grow.

In terms of story it wasn't as moving as the second book for me. There were some sad scenes, but the didn't tug at my heart as much as I was expecting. I'm not saying that was a bad thing as what was written worked well with the tone of the book.

Anyway, overall I can't wait to see where the author takes this series next. I'm hoping Willa gets a story at some point and can't wait to read about her. This is a great series that has somehow managed to allow me to like children for once (I'm not usually a fan of books with babies or little children in). Book 1 was worth the risk and I'd highly recommend the series as a whole.

***Recieved an ARC for an Honest Review***

Be My Baby By Airicka Phoenix was, wow! I've read the 1st two books in this series which were phenomenal!

Calla McClain has a secret and feels her heart is not open to love.
Calla has always been a spit fire, a wild child, with a quick wit. She's quick to stand up for herself and is fluent in sarcasm.

Calla takes off for University once she graduates High School. She's only gone a few years before she comes back home. Once home, her parents, sister, and friends are quick to see the Calla that came home isn't the Calla that left. She's different. Her quick wit, humor, and that fire about her has all but diminished. Her eyes have a sadness about them. A sadness that no one is able to get Calla to talk about. Calla throws herself into her job and holds tight to the secret she feels will crush her family. Jared still feels that familiar pull towards her from when he was a teen. Calla is quick to dismiss him at every turn.

What will happen the night Calla decides to go as Jared's date to a friend's wedding? Calla and Jared drink the night away, her shield slowly slips throughout the evening. Will Calla let the possibility of love in or will she hang on to her secret?

Be My Baby was an excellent read, written in two POV's-Calla and Jared. It evoked so many different emotions. Reading Calla's secret was heartbreaking. Ms. Phoenix has such an incredible talent of describing each character. You could feel Calla's intense sadness as she explains everything she's been keeping inside.
Airicka Phoenix has a spectacular writing style, all her books are flawlessly written. I look forward to the next installment in the series which I'm guessing is about Willa. I've grown to really enjoy this series.

I loved Be My Baby!!! by Airicka Phoenix This is the third book in a series, but can be read by itself. Although once you finish it you will want to read all the books and be waiting anxiously for another one.
Calla is all grown up and has the hots for Jared of all people. Having grown up together, they had school children crushes on each other, but never acted on it. Now that there are hormones and sex drives, the young adults have managed to stay away from each other until now. A simple wedding invitation causes things to spiral out of control as they drunkenly elope.
Shocked the morning after, Calla is certain that Jared can't accept her for the things that she has done in the past. Forgiveness is not something that she can handle from Jared or her family. Certain that her family and Jared will walk away if they know the truth, hiding it seems the best option. Calla wouldn't be able to survive if Jared walked away when he learns the truth. Now they are bound together, but will they be able to make it past the first year of marriage together?
A must read, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Spoiler free review.
This book was given to me as an ARC. This is the second book I get to review. I never thought I would get to do this. I get nervous before reading an ARC in exchange for an HONEST review. I always post a review either on goodreads or amazon. Books that stands out and are considered above 5 stars get a long review. I've written a lot so far. This book was just WOW. It had everything to make it a great book and a recommendation. Strong family ties, first love that can last, it was funny at times, romantic and made me cry gut wrenching, happy tears. Jared was caring and loving. He would have slayed dragons for Calla. Calla was a broken young women that pulled through with the help of Jared and her family . I highly enjoyed reading this book and I recommend it strongly. I look forward to reading more from this author. There is no cliffhanger and it can be read as standalone. But for better enjoyment,I would recommend reading Forever his baby and Bye-Bye baby first. Thank you Airicka Phoenix for writing great books and giving me this chance.

This book owned me.
Airicka Phoenix writes Calla and Jared's story absolutely beautifully. There was not one moment in this entire book that made me want to stop reading. I could not put this down, but at one point I actually had to stop reading because my eyes were blurred with tears. About halfway through the book I had to message the Author to tell her this: "Oh my god!! Airicka! Oh My God! I am 50% through Be My Baby and I can honestly tell you that in all of my reading in the last 3 years (which includes thousands of books). I have never been devoured by a book the way this one has completely consumed me. Normally I devour the books, not the other way around." I am at a loss for words for this review, I ate an entire pint of Ben and Jerry's to help me through the crazy emotions this book left me in, and apparently I am still not composed enough to write it (I finished Be My Baby yesterday). I can't wait to read more from this Author.

this is not an usual family, Calla's family, bur Willia and her seems ok when they growth up, have Calla who has a lovely father and monther who spoil her, also an uncle also a second father of her, a second mother to love her.

It is a growth up story, girl left home and have the study, met someone she may fall into, if success, she may get marry and built up a family, if not, she needs to run agaign and again to repeat it. Calla's first was failed, what given her is a broken heart and lost her unborn baby.

Jared, a man who was in love with Calla for the long time, until it is the time, they get marry in one wedding even they didn't know it. Since it happened, then it needs to go on. just like the stories before, Calla's family wasn't an ususal, ordinary family. Their parents, silbings are different as ususal. Sloan and Cole, Lily and Beth, even Damon and Willa.

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. This is #3 in the series and I love that I get to read more about this family. It is refreshing to have a mixed up crazy family who's experiences are not all sunshine and roses. I love the chemistry that we still get, as we always do with Airicka's books- but I also liked how although this isn't our first introduction to the family, things still go wrong....because in real life bad things DO happen to good people. And as much as I love to disappear into a book, I love the realism of this story. I look forward to book #4 and for Damon and Willa's tale as I am certain like everything from this author, it will be another one I just can't put down!

Another good read in this series.

I liked Jared and Calla’s story. They were both good characters and the way they got together, although unconventional, was really sweet. I liked how although they had love each other for a long time, they both had to grow up a bit first. It was also good to see characters introduced in earlier books at a later stage in life. While I enjoyed this story, I am beginning to find the books in this series all a bit predictable. Nevertheless, I would still recommend this book to anyone who has read the earlier books and is looking for another easy to read and enjoyable love story.

Jared sure knows how to give a compliment, "It’s not the dress.” He struggle to control the beast pacing inside him, the one urging him to claim what belonged to him be damned the consequences. “Christ, I can’t take you when you look like that." I loved the chemistry between Calla and Jared:
"God, we have to stop!” she gasped as he slid out of her. “I’m going to be walking like I spent the weekend riding bareback on a horse.”
Jared chuckled. “Well, there was a lot of riding and I am pretty bare."
I love this author and any books she publishes they always transport me to another world and I love that

What a book! It's been awhile since I've read something that really touched my heart. Yes I cried and smiled a lot!! It had raw emotion and i just felt so connected with all the characters. If you love family and lots of love with a side of drama this is the book for you. Grab a little blanket, tuck up your feet and get comfortable you won't want to put it down! Nothing beats a good love story with real life problems and obstacles. If you want a reminder that real love still existence and you don't need a big fantasy to get it I recommend this book. Love is messy crazy and brings challenges but it's worth it and this story will prove it! Great job Airicka

I don't even know how to explain how hard I loved this book. I've been a fan of this series from the very first book and they just keep getting better. This is the book of grown up Calla and I absolutely loved her! She's smart, funny and just a firecracker. She's been hurt in the past but she meets her match in Jared. Oh, Jared! Tall, hot and just yummy! I don't know how Calla resisted as long as she did. This book will break your heart and then put the pieces back together. Airicka Phoenix has a way about her that brings characters to life and makes you feel what they feel. You will not be disappointed with this book!

I SO LOVE THIS LINE!!!!!!

"I never told you this, but I am scared shitless of heights. I fucking hate them. But I followed you up that stupid cliff, going higher each time until I was sure I’d crap myself. I wasn’t trying to prove I was brave, or that I was better than a girl. I just didn’t want you to go up there alone. That’s how long I’ve loved you, Calla McClain.”

The Baby Saga keeps getting better and better! I just love how Jared is so in love with Calla and no matter how weird people think their family is, is there for each other no matter what.

Where to begin... I'm left somewhat speechless after this book. In a good way. but I'd like to mention that doesn't happen often and I'll probably blunder my way through this review.
I adored the first two books and this one was just as amazing. I found myself laughing and crying and holding my breath alongside the characters. I'm not generally a fan of the genre but something about these books resonates deep within me and i find myself binging on them and unable to put them down. The story is packed with emotion and i can't get enough. And Jared...ohmygoodness *swoon*

Jared and Calla were so entertaining in this book. There are secrets simmering under the surface that neither of them are willing to discuss or address. Well that is until Jared has enough and starts to blow through all of Calla's defenses and proceeds to steal her heart, which it appears was his all along.

Then there is the little matter of getting married in the middle of the night when they are both a little wasty face and neither can remember. It was fun to watch this whole adventure unfold and reveal yet another strong couple in the making.
