If you enjoy Dark thriller romance, and would like to join become my Beta reader, be the first to get updates on my books and get a copy before anyone else Click the link below, I have 28 slots left, this is your chance to get an ARC of “THE ACE CARD (Psycho Games) Book 2
This book was so hard to comprehend for most of the time I was reading it. The DID storyline with Isab really took a toll on me — her POVs were the hardest to understand. And not to mention the typos… I get that mistakes happen, but they still made an already confusing book even harder to follow.
I went in thinking this would be a spicy read… but it wasn’t. Romance isn’t even a theme here, and I guess I missed the “no spice” tag. That’s on me.
Still, the book was good. The author took the psychological aspect _very_ seriously. This was a top-notch manipulative, scheming thriller. What I didn’t like was how the quadruplets were handled. They’re supposed to be strong, intelligent, don/mafia men of New York — yet the plot never captured that. They felt like poor souls trapped in a game they never wanted to play. I get that they were turned into chess pieces because their past was a lie, their parents alive instead of dead, and more… but at no point did they actually feel like mafia men.
The book was mysterious and deliciously dark, but it didn’t grip me the way a true thriller should. I was actually fed up with the amount of riddles Isab kept throwing at the quadruplets. Poor brothers.
And that Almari man… his character was so unruly it didn’t add up. One second you’re manipulative and cunning, scheming like a mastermind — the next you’re drunk and beating your three-year-old child? Then suddenly sane again? It felt inconsistent.
Final verdict: If you want a scheming, manipulative plot with zero spice, this book is for you.

wow this book actually changed my brain chemistry. i will probably come back and edit this review because i know i will have feelings for the weeks to come.
Firstly, check your TWs because this book has lots of dark elements.
Secondly, after you read this, please try and name a more iconic FMC - because it will be impossible. Her story just shattered me but the ruthless woman she turns into was just *chefs kiss*
I cant begin to imagine how the author plotted this because every chapter had a new plot twist. Every. Single. One.
Im going to be in a slump now and wait for the next adventure.
I received this book as an ARC, and I’m leaving this review voluntarily. The Queen Piece isn’t just dark, it’s suffocating in the best way. Every page feels like a calculated move, every chapter tightens the noose a little more. The psychological tension is relentless, the symbolism cuts deep, and the FMC as the game changer
I just finished The Queen Piece and my brain is still recovering. 🤯 It’s a dark thriller where the FMC treats the world like her personal chessboard. Between the four Mafia brothers and twists that had me questioning everything until the very end, I couldn't put it down. If you like morally grey leads and psychological games, this is your next obsession! I’ll admit, the twists had me genuinely confused for a good portion of the book. But here’s the thing: it’s intentional. The author weaves such a complex web that you feel as disoriented as the characters. Just when I thought I had a handle on the brothers' past, another layer was stripped back. When the pieces finally started to align toward the end, the "aha!" moment was incredibly satisfying. Now, diving straight into the ARC for The Ace Card, I’m ready to see how the game escalates I have a feeling the Ace Card is about to change everything.
I wasn't a fan. Kind of got bored on and off through the book. There were moments where I was into it and then boom lost all interest. Also kept getting lost with the POVS. Also found it predictable.
First, a huge thanks to the author for giving me an ARC.
As you can see on my favorites book shelf, I have a thing for unhinged, psychopathic, smart, morally grey FMCs......and this book gave me exactly that. I loved the FMC soo much. She's soo fierce and unpredictable. She was one of the strongest part of the book. The plot itself was very engaging. I honestly loved this book and DEVOURED it in under 24 hours.
That being said, the multiple POV structure ( the exact scene sometimes shown from multiple POVs) did take away from the experience for me. While I understand the intention behind showing different perspectives, some scenes were repeated several times without adding enough new insight. This made certain parts feel a bit dragged and slightly broke the flow of the story. Otherwise this book was definitely 5 stars
I received this book as an ARC and am so thankful I signed up!
From the first few pages this book puts you in a choke hold and well it doesn’t let go. Every single chapter you think you’ve got it, you found out the plot…. Haha wrong! The author is ready to blow your mind again and again guaranteed. Every thought, every sentence is just like the game being played. Calculated. Twisted. Unexpected.
The FMC was so well developed and her presence was well known throughout the book. Her character will live rent free in my head for a while. I felt bad for the endless riddles that she played on the “mafia” brothers. I use that term lightly as to me it didn’t seem like they were quite “mafia” type; if they were…they would be to soft.
The only thing I would recommend is to check your TW’s. This book is dark but on different levels.
This had me in a hold that I could seem to get out of till I was done reading it. The twists and turns had me going wtf at every page. This with twisted into a game involving all the characters and the FMC Controls it all. I loved all the chaos and the thrill this gave me.
"The Queen Piece" is a dark thriller that takes you on a rollercoaster of suspense, psychological games, and unexpected turns. The FMC is a force to be reckoned with, is both powerful and enigmatic. The twists and turns are intentional, designed to keep you guessing until the very end. If you are looking for the morally grey leads and psychological games, "The Queen Piece" is a must-read.
I received this book as an ARC and honestly, I love how the book puts you on an edge while reading, and the phycho characters keep you guessing. I loved it
I collected this book as an ARC This book left me wholesome, i don't think i have encountered such a powerful FMC in a book, the revenge arc was amazing, good read
Please check your trigger warnings, but trust me when I say you’re going to love this. There is tension, action based on past experiences and characters that draws you in. Revenge and games, a strong FMC and the life of elites.
