When I tell you I was so mad at the beginning how they tried to humiliate her about skin tone they had my girl messed up smh 😑and she is a princess hmmm I couldn't believe after the wedding that's how he did her smh but his wicked step mom was horrible for her own selfish needs but baby when I tell you after the Emperor Zhao Mingxuan got out his own way that man crossed oceans to get Amara (Empress Consort Anluo) back and he was not playing about her nobody was safe 😊and her brother 😍Prince Kuju baby can get it to 😋I'm so glad they came just I'm time because bbbaaaabbbbyyyyy I was sweating bullets I was scared for them, I'm still talking to y'all let me go get the second book y'all go get this it was a great read☺️😁

Time Travel, Political Intrigue, and a Love Story
FMC Amara starts from page one when her life ends and she awakens in a Chinese Dynasty Era. Poor girl is thrown into political intrigue, attempts on her life, and entering a world and time where her color doesn’t invite acceptance. Somehow through all of this she and Emperor Zhao fall in love. However, their love will either lead to a death sentence or a future where she wishes she was dead. She and Zhao literally and figuratively fight to survive and build a future together. I’m really enjoying this book and can’t wait to read part 2.

A weak female lead
One thing I hate most is a weak female lead. She could not assist her husband in anything and was more than a burden. What good is her knowledge from her world, years of studying a dynasty, when she uses none of it and walks around like a helpless idiot. If you can’t protect yourself, your husband, a kingdom then just walk away. Insufferable!
