(3.5) I love a fake dating when ain’t nothin about it fake lol! Falcon and Eli had always been feeling each other, but refused to act on their attraction because of their allegiance to her brother (who was trash if you ask me!!!). However, an opportunity presented itself for them to “fake date” and they both leaned into it in the best way. I really enjoyed them as a couple. Falcon, despite saying he didn’t know how to love, was definitely a loverboy. Issac was weird to me because he was a bit too invested in his sister’s love life & didn’t stand up for her when it counted. Her dad was also trash with a capital T! Despite some drama this was generally a low tension story about not being afraid to love, and choosing a life beyond other’s expectations.
4⭐️ Listen, Falcon you are who you think you are & that’s it! I love a “it’s a fake relationship” but we know it’s not a fake relationship 😂
Idk y’all, I had no problems with Falcon fr. I know he was a little skeptical at first because he never had a relationship BUT the way he came through, the way he made time for Eli sold me!
The cute Nick name smiley was so sweet. “Have you seen your smile? Fucking beautiful.” Like Falcon was really giddy for my girl. I would say I liked the brother at first, him spoiling his sister etc but he was just rubbing me wrong after that the whole book! Like how you don’t stand up for YOUR sister with your terrible father? No worries tho because Falcon definitely came to the rescue!
Eli definitely had some growth in the book, setting a boundary between the only family she had to protect her peace was a major step & it was the right one!
When Falcon bought her that land & basically told her that’s her for when she’s ready to build I almost passed out!
Some of the details in the beginning of this book didn't quite make sense. Eli doesn't seem to live with her boyfriend Justin but catches him in her apartment cheating with her best friend. Later in the book, she says her brother wants to drive to Justin's house to beat his ass for cheating on her. Which means, Justin and her don't live together, because her brother knows where Eli lives because he had a car delivered to her house. My thing is, if Justin had his own house, why would he be having sex with another girl, Eli's best friend actually, in Eli's house instead of his own? And then when Eli beats her friend up, Justin tells HER to get in the car and go somewhere else. I'm like, but isn't it HER house? Why is she the one leaving? And then later still, she's telling her publicist that still has to move her things out of the house. But why would she be moving her things out of her own apartment?
Secondly, I love a good fake dating trope, but it has to make sense. Eli, who doesn't even care about singing, or sponsorships and brand deals, starts getting some hate on social media after someone recorded her whooping her best friend's ass after she caught her with her man in bed. And her publicist's idea is to have her fake date someone to clean up her image. How would that clean up her image? And of course she's fake dating her brother's best friend, Falcon, who is in hot water himself after one of the women he messed with blabbed to the blogs about how he only wants sex from women and makes them sign an NDA. I don't feel like Falcon did anything wrong, but his publicist's idea is to have him fake date Eli to improve his image. IDK, it just didn't make any sense to have them fake date each other when both of their images were tarnished. If you fuck up, it makes sense to have you connected to someone with a good image, not someone who is in hot water themselves with the media, so them fake dating each other just didn't make sense.
The book is only 162 pages, but I couldn't even make it to page 50. Def not a bad book, but unfortunately just not the book for me. I wasn't sucked into the plot enough for me to overlook my irritation at how some of the details didn't make sense.
Rating 4.5⭐️ Falcon the Football Player is a reminder that heartbreak doesn’t get the final word.
Eli and Falcon already have history, years of familiarity through her brother but it’s crisis that shifts their dynamic. Eli is navigating heartbreak and humiliation after betrayal turns violent and public, putting her career on the line. Falcon isn’t heartbroken but he is betrayed, dealing with an illegal exposure that threatens to dismantle the image he’s worked hard to protect. What starts as a strategic, image saving arrangement slowly peels back layers they didn’t even realize they’d buried. This wasn’t just a fake relationship trope. This was two wounded souls finding shelter in one another while the world watched.
What made this story hit was the history. The feelings were already there, just silenced by loyalty, timing and fear. Watching them grow together as more self aware, more honest versions of themselves made the love feel perfect. The fake relationship was a short timeline but they made it work. They truly spoke life into each other. Falcons protection of Eli was exactly what she needed. Eli's loving personality captured Falcon's heart easily. Growth happened individually before it fully bloomed collectively and that matters.
The forbidden element added tension but it never overshadowed the emotional healing. Falcon wasn’t just choosing between love and football. He was choosing between staying guarded and being vulnerable. Eli wasn’t just protecting her brother's ego and the dynamics of the team she was doing herself a disservice. Once she realized that she started the process of learning to trust herself and her heart again.
By the time the “fake” fell away, what remained was real, solid and deeply satisfying. For Falcon to claim he didn't do love that man was so attentive, protective and caring from day 1. It came so natural. This wasn’t about career redemption. It was about soul restoration. Love after heartbreak always hits harder when it feels like a rainbow after a storm and this one delivered.

I truly have a love/hate relationship with the brothers best friend trope and it’s truly never about the authors because just like this story, they are well written, but my issue is the characters themselves, mostly the overprotective big brother whose more controlling and selfish than protective in most cases. But B. Love wrote the hell out of this book and gave me not only the brothers best friend trope but a new fave with the fake dating trope.
I loved how Falcon stood up for Eli even with the risk of losing his best friend. As he said multiple times, he was in the side of right and how Isaac and their dad treated Eli wasn’t right. I love how he called them on their bs and stood on business with his love and protection of Eli. I loved that Eli finally realized she needed to live for herself and not to please her father or brother. I loved that Falcon and Eli chose each other and realized their love was worth the risk of losing the relationship with Isaac. I loved that everything ended up working out for Falcon and Eli including repaired Falcon accepting that love doesn’t always end in the toxic manner he was used to seeing in her early years.
I did wish there could have been a reason given behind the way Senior treated Eli or Falcon having a conversation with his mother, but I loved the way things turned out for this couple and I’m looking forward to getting more from the Demolishers.
3.5 upped to 4 because I overall really did enjoy the book. Falcon was a great MMC and Eli (who I pronounced as ELI because i don’t care “ L E” just makes no sense) was pleasant to read as well. I love fake dating and best friends brother as tropes. Here was my disconnect: 1. Maybe I missed how old these men were but Issac acted like a child in some parts as it was hard to understand why his sister specifically needed to keep status qui because ANY woman could have messed up the relationship given Falcon mood. That just didn’t make sense. 2. I was unclear what positions they played because we’re harping on chemistry the whole book but a defensive tackle and quarterback don’t need to have chemistry and as football girlie i need to know the details. 3. Senior as a character made little sense as we gets bits of characterization in terms of his love for football but what truly is his issue with Eli and why does he care so much about her music career which brings me to my last major issue 4. Babygirl was not making millions as cover artist. I’m not sure if the author understands cover artists or what but there is only one I know and he also has original music. Not to mention the whole fake dating premise was weak because in this day and age of social media post a story time post receipts and there you go. All in all I enjoyed it though. Also just as a final not there is no way from first game of the season in late August that a mansion with all that was built in 5 months 🤣🤣
I just finished this book, and it took me on a complete emotional roller coaster. There were moments that made me genuinely angry—especially watching the main female character endure betrayal—and others that were deeply sad, particularly seeing the lack of love and support she received from her father. But woven through all of that pain was growth, healing, and hope.
What I loved most was watching her journey back to herself. She didn’t just find love—she found clarity, strength, and self-worth along the way. That transformation made the emotional highs and lows feel real and earned.
I love that the main male character also was afraid to love because of his past trauma. His thought process of how love should be was wrong and he was able to untangle that wrongdoing while trying to love the main feeling female character.
Both characters were able to grow within themselves while giving each other, the space and the connection that was needed.
This book is for anyone who has experienced mistreatment in love, felt overlooked by the people who were supposed to care the most, or lost themselves while trying to hold everything together. It’s a reminder that healing is possible and that love—both for yourself and others—can be found again. 💛
Eli and Falcon were everything in this fake relationship turned real love story. What started as a simple arrangement slowly unfolded into something genuine, intentional, and deeply felt. The chemistry was effortless, but it was the emotional depth that really pulled me in. Eli broke my heart a little. All she truly wanted was love and validation from her father and brother, and instead she got disrespect and emotional neglect. Isaac really thought money could cover up the lack of care and accountability, but you can’t buy love and you definitely can’t buy respect. Senior made it painfully clear where he stood, and Eli deserved so much better than the way they treated her. Enter Falcon. Whew. That man wasted no time stepping into his role. What I loved most was how intentional he was with Eli. He didn’t just claim her for show he cherished her. He was soft where she needed softness, gentle where she had been handled too harshly, and protective in a way that felt safe, not controlling. Eli absolutely deserved that kind of love the kind that reassures, protects, and shows up without conditions. I truly didn’t want their story to end.
Issac, the FMC brother, thinks that he is doing right by his sister, but he is doing more harm to her in the end. Issac, much like his daddy, wants to control Eli. He wants a say so in her life when he doesn't deserve one. He enables his daddy to act in a manner that he knows is wrong. That man is rude and mean towards Eli. He had the nerve to tell Eli he didn't love or like her. That PMO bad!
Falcon was her protector, shoulder to lean on, and her man. When everything fell apart in her life, he was the man who was their to reassure her that she deserved more. This arrangement was the best thing for them, and it magnified the love and affection that they shared for one another.
What I like most about Falcon he wasn't afraid to tell Issac and his daddy off. He didn't care if it affected his and Issacs friendship. Falcon was ready to talk about a trade in order to keep the peace with his lady.
Man, this was a great quick read. I could go on and on.
Falcon and Eli was a match made in heaven. I really enjoyed reading this book. My poor girl Eli couldn’t catch a dang gone break to save her life. Blow after blow and issue after issue she was meet with and after her father came in the picture, I was for sure she was gonna end up in the hospital for a nervous breakdown. I’m glad through their “fake” relationship Falcon came in and saw that she needed someone in her life to have her back because Eli brother and her father was something out of the ordinary. Eli’s father was and is a piece of garbage and her brother was a controlling narcissist who just wanted her to fall in line and do as he said and deal with whatever toxic masculinity that came from her father. Falcon was her safe haven and she was his. Eli taught Falcon how to let love in and how to receive it as well. They to me was a power couple who saw each other’s flaws and still fought to remain in each other’s lives after their contract was up.
I love when an arrangement turns into something amazing.. Falcon & Eli were always attracted to each other, but mutual respect for Isaac (his best friend & teammate/her big brother) both do their best to keep their feelings hidden. A series of unfortunate events or fate, depending on your perspective, has them both needing an image revamp. In the midst of curated social media posts, photo shoots & PR-planned dates, they help each other and also heal each other.
I love how Eli finally found safety, friendship, support & true acceptance in Falcon. He cherished & protected her so intentionally. Falcon made it so easy for her to be his mirror & give him the love he never allowed himself to receive before. Their affection & chemistry was on point. They absolutely deserved to be happy together.
This story was so so so good! I am thirsty to read more from other Demolishers in the future.
What a man, What a man, What a man What a mighty good man
The main and supporting characters were so entertaining. The story shed light on broken family dynamics and the pain that lies behind it all. That longing for love and peace we all desire from those we love and that are supposed to love us came to the forefront and had our characters changing and evolving. I’m so #TeamFalcon. He helped Eli heal and move forward after an awful heartbreaking scandal and helped to heal himself as well. He cherished, encouraged, praised, protected Eli she needed someone in her corner. He was nervous about his growing feelings and heart but he let love in.They were friends that bonded over so many things and it grew to be what they never expected but so desperately deserved and needed. B. Love I’m ready to see what’s next for them and the rest of the Demolishers. 10/10
This was cute! Falcon and Eli (El-e) individually find themselves in a situation where they need to clean up their image. They end up with the same publicist who suggests they date one another.
Generally, the fake dating trope for me can SOMETIMES get annoying but I had a good time with this one. I think the way the “fake dating” was done was what sold me. There were no big miscommunications or confusion from the beginning. They stated their feelings on the matter and went from there.
Eli’s Dad….ugh 😤 Eli’s Brother….meh 🤔
But Falcon? The way he defended and protected her!!! I also love how he courted her. I just loved him as a character—and also his development.
I can’t wait to see what they are up to when the rest of the series comes out.
Tropes: fake dating, a bit of forced proximity, forbidden romance, brothers best friend, sports romance
Eli and Falcon are dealing with PR nightmares after experiencing extreme betrayal. Their PR rep suggests that they fake date to clean up their images. Eli and Falcon are friends and he is her brother’s best friend. Their public outings are fairly easy because of their friendship. They both confess their feelings but agree that their relationship is temporary so that they won’t disrupt team dynamics and upset Isaac, her brother. Their feelings get real and Falcon steps in when Eli is being mistreated by her dad and her brother. Falcon realizes that he loves Eli and that having her is more important than his team and his friendship with Isaac. He shows Eli that she’s his priority and that resonates with her because no one has ever made her a priority.
This was a profound love story and I loved it. Falcon and Eli were just perfect for each other.
Eli came home to find her man Justin and her bestie Natasha in bed together after he lied and said he was spending Valentine’s with his daughter for her birthday. Feeling betrayed she reacted and chased bestie out the home and her her butt while outside naked.. neighbors and onlookers began filming which created negative buzz around her music career.. Eli was close to her brother Isaac and had always been attracted to his best friend and teammate Falcon, but never acted on it.. until he had gotten some negative publicity as well after a lady had recorded negative things about him and also uploaded a sex tape.. both Eli and Falcon publicists agreed to work together and created a fake relationship for them.. but it turned into real feelings.. I enjoyed this read and glad they both found love after so much rejection and heartbreak
I’m so glad Eli stood on business with her father and brother. Junior annoyed my entire would because he would put any man in their place regarding his sister except the one man who was doing the nose damage. I don’t believe he was as blind to the issue as implied. I believe he simply didn’t care because it didn’t affect him. Falcon wasn’t having it and I love that for her. Lauren got off too easily if you ask me. Using “I didn’t know it was a crime” as a defense after you signed a legal document instructing you NOT to do something is bogus. It shows that even when men are honest and up front and even more clear than glass, some women will find a way to play victim and clueless. He should have still sued her for good measure 🙄… Justine and Natasha 🤢. Eli did exactly what needed to be done 👊10/10
I can't curse in an Amazon review but middle finger to Isaac Jr. and Isaac Sr. they were worst than the ex-boyfriend and ex-bestfriend. He was too darn old to be hanging on what his dad said and crying over who a teammate dates. If the reasoning was legitimate then hats off but is was for selfish personal reasons, "the team." With friends and family like that who needs enemies.
I loved how Falcon stood up for Eli because she was on that island alone. No family or friends to turn to. My heart broke for her something serious. As you can see this book had me angry. The only shining grace were the relationship with Falcon and Eli. He almost dropped the ball too but recovered.
I'm happy to hear that we will get updates on Falcon and Eli, as well as, new books about the other players on the Demolishers team.
I absolutely love a sports romance especially football...Geaux Saints! Falcon and Eli were meant to be. I really like the fact that they were friends who genuinely cared for each other. I'm also happy that Issac came around and finally decided to choose his sister. Not sure what Senior's issue is with Eli, but he needs to get a life.
Anywho, this was a good read in true B. Love fashion. "Life is short, but it's too long to be miserable".
Sorry, I really wanted to love it. Especially after seeing reviews raving about it.
Just couldn’t connect with the overall story. Less than 200 pages so I knew the pacing would be fast. But the timeline was a bit all over the place to me. The father daughter storyline was somewhat random with the why or even a hint at a possibility for the disdain.
Isaac- *deep sigh* annoyed me to know end. And every repair just didn’t resonate. Again this all could be because it’s meant to be a short story. But the storyline required more. I still have questions.
Seems like more to come. So maybe I’ll see what happens in the next book.
Yes...Falcon and Eli....I know violence is not the key. However, she gave them two the business. Yes, her brother was definitely suspect. Sad but sometimes the family you are born into is your worst enemy. Falcon definitely handled Lauren. You signed the NDA and then expected what?!?. Falcon did exactly what he needed to do. He protected and loved Eli. All she was doing to get her father's acceptance and it would never come. Falcon was the truth..live your life for you✨️✨️Loved Falcon receiving the help he needed. His family loves him. I freaking loved it. Isaac needs help his Dad is not a good vibe. Loved it Loved it✨️✨️✨️💯💯Thanks B.
Did I finish this in one setting?? Yes!! I love brother’s little sister because they swear they can control her life and she shows them every time who is really in control. Eli & Falcon have to fake date after they both have some things blow up on social media. This is the start of them being able to see where their feelings take them. I was able to connect so deeply with Eli and how she felt about her father (even some tears came). It’s a quick read that I’m sure I’ll pick up again. Football, trips, friends to lovers, and sticking up for what’s right.
Eli had a lot of struggles, but she persevered! I’m so glad she found love in Falcon. He struggled with dating and women due to his parents love and his uncle, but starting a fake relationship with his best friend’s sister, Eli, all of that changed. I loved how he stood up for her… something Isaac didn’t do. It’s a good thing her man and best friend got caught together otherwise, she never would’ve given Falcon a chance. I wish Falcon or either Isaac would’ve done her daddy in. He was garbage!!!
Falcon the Football Player is a sweet and emotional sports romance about healing, loyalty, and unexpected love.
Falcon and Eli start with a fake relationship to fix their public images, but feelings quickly get real. Their chemistry is natural, the story flows smoothly, and the tension between love and loyalty keeps you hooked. Add in family drama and football life, and you get a solid, feel-good romance.
A quick, enjoyable read with heart, drama, and strong connection.
Although this was short, not even 200pages long, and good it was just too “timid”, too cautious, which inadvertently led it to be a bit too boring 🥱… I was counting down when this was going to actually finished so I could go read on something else. But since this is still a MS. B. Love piece, the hook to push and “see” where it’s going or how it’s going to be, made it to a strong Final Cut. So yeah, it wasn’t too bad for a short little thing, just not as engaging, enjoyable and entertaining as others before!!!!
Eli spent her days trying to find love and acceptance from her father. Her brother forbade her having a relationship with any of his team mates. Falcon proved he could stand up against his best friend and love Eli regardless of what anyone felt about it. The hurt her Ex boyfriend and friend caused her was nothing compared to the love and protection she found in Falcon. The father was a whole trip, wow. I loved it!
I really loved this read. What stood out to me the most was how Falcon took up for Eli and protected her from the people who should've been protecting her. Yeah in the beginning it started as fake but I knew the feelings they had for each other was going to come into play and in a heavy way. I couldn't stand Senior because he was less that a man to me and Issac almost made me not like him to but glad he got his act together. Great read, loved every minute of it.
Great read! Eli & Falcon, they couldn't have been any better for one another! Family truly set the tone from childhood and how we mature as adults! Eli daddy was so mean and.conteolling, whereas Falcon had family that showed him love, but he was unable to receive it until Eli became his partner. Falcon did for Eli what she did for him. I love how Falcon was able to give Eli her voice when it came to standing up for herself! Loved the epilogue and hope to see more
