I am predisposed to side with the FMC in life and in fiction, but boy was I irritated with this one for much of the book. I get it, but jeez.

He is impossibly, ridiculously perfect. But I don't care, I still love him. If she'd been toned down a bit, this would have been amazing--the hidden letters! gaaaah.

Absolutely wonderful!

This was a true love story! Long and fraught with trouble. I think we all long for a man who would never give up on us even as we pushed him away. Really enjoyed her painting and his dedication. Sigh…

so sweet I got a cavity

Pleasantly surprised with this. A nice afternoon read that leaves you content and happy. Axel is a man among boys because what do you mean he waited that long??? Even knowing he wouldn’t end up with Delia he waited.

I love how the author didn’t taint his love by laying out his sexual conquests like most authors of this genre do. It adds nothing to the story except ruin the illusion of romance that the writer was trying to build. It’s a rarity to come across pure devotion without the mention of another woman so I really appreciate it when I read stories like this one that has it in spades.

I did find myself frustrated with Delia and her choices, however I understood why she reacted the way she did considering all the bad events the preceded and caused those reactions. My only note is that it would have been the cherry on top to see the ex fiancé’s ex girlfriend get arrested for falsifying a pregnancy, and if we’re being frank taking advantage of an inebriated and incapacitated person. That was disgusting.

Emotionally wrecked me!!

The title is perfect for this book! My heart was shattered into so many pieces especially with the last few chapters of this book. I felt every emotion that Delia felt while she was grieving. I had to literally put the kindle down, wipe my eyes the best I could and read again. It was crazy the amount of tears falling down my face.
We find out why Delia is the way that she is. If you've the other books then you know her personality but under it all is a scared little girl. Her mom is fading away, dad is gone, her brother is supportive and Jake is a disaster.
Axel is a gem. He fell in love at 14 and never stopped. He may not have had the girl yet but he built his business around the girl. He knew one day he'd have her. He's her brother best friend and part of the family but what he felt for Delia was never brotherly. He wrote letters.. ugh just thinking about makes me swoon. Anyway these are just fantastic together. He supports her thru all of the ugly and shows her life can be beautiful again!

Nice story but there are some continuity issues

I enjoyed the story. Axel was a little too. Long-serving and selfless. I was a little incredulous that Delia would consider going back to the man who jilted her at the altar.

Now the continuity. Who is this Gianna who appears in chapter 19 after not appearing anywhere else in the book? I searched for her name. And what bullet did Delia dodge about Jake? What is the tea that was going to be spilled? At least give us an epilogue!

Also, it would have been nice to know more of what was going on in Axel's life in those 17 years or at least when he came of age. More about what relationships he had. Because with that blank slate, he came across as not being in any relationships.

This series 💔😭💓

I read this series in two days. The raw honest love had me in tears. I highly recommend you. Keep a box of tissues near you. I know these books are fiction, but these books felt so real that I could not help but think about my life and things that I have gone through that were heartbreaking for me the fact that these women had somebody with them and for them that it made my heart soar with awe and yes jealousy.

This author makes you feel everything that the characters are going through what an amazing storyteller.

Good book to finish the series. The story was good until the trumped up split; shattered by grief.
There are some things I didn’t like:
I am sick to death of Alzheimer’s being a character in romance novels.
Axel was just too good and true and loving to be real. No wonder young women think real men can’t measure up.
We don’t get the tea on Jake and the bullet dodged by not going back to him. Don’t we deserve at least an epilogue or extended scene for this?

The MCs are undeveloped.
The pacing is weird.
The FMC and MMC have no chemistry.
Overall just did not like this authors writing style.

Axel deserved much better than Delia!
I didn't like her at all! She was pathetic and stupid ! She should have stayed with her ex who cheated on her and treated her like trash !
