It’s a small book that can be read quickly. Kelden uses various nursery rhymes to craft short spells for different purposes—they’re genuinely quite varied—and he includes instructions for how to perform each one. They’re simple, and the rhymes are fun.
The book is illustrated in a vintage/collage style, though the fonts he uses can be a bit uncomfortable to read. Toward the end, the author explores the possible origins of the characters, such as Mother Goose, and does so in a very solid and well-researched way.
