Lost: The Search for Deputy Kizer: A Supernatural Thriller Novella

“Some crimes don’t leave clues. They leave warnings.”

When Deputy Kizer disappears after a routine call, the search begins, only to unravel into something far more sinister. What starts as a missing person case spirals into a descent through staged scenes, mutilated bodies, and a predator who doesn't just kill but collects.

As the line between delusion and reality begins to rot, a single truth the body recovered wasn't Kizer. It was a stand-in. A replica. A warning.

Deep in the fog-drenched woods, where the ground swallows evidence and time folds in on itself, something ancient waits, wearing a stolen face.

This isn't a case.
It's a hunt.
And the next exhibit is already chosen.

A haunting blend of forensic horror, psychological suspense, and supernatural dread, The Search for Deputy Kizer lingers like the scent of death, unshakable and unforgettable.

The Search for Deputy Kizer is a small-town nightmare perfect for fans of Paul Tremblay’s Cabin at the End of the World, where the procedural realism of True Detective (Season 1) meets the forensic horror of Stephen King’s The Outsider.

For 28 years, I kept my stories to myself, using them as a way to make sense of life’s hardest moments and its quiet victories. Writing has always been my refuge and my passion. It is how I process the raw, uncomfortable truths that most people avoid. Now, I am finally sharing those stories with the world.

My writing is not for the faint of heart. I explore the parts of the human experience that are often left in the dark, including pain, loss, trauma, and survival. Every story includes a trigger warning because these narratives face difficult realities head-on. At the same time, they also reflect resilience, healing, and the strength it takes to keep going when everything feels broken.

Inspired by real life and mixed into dark fiction, my stories are emotional, intense, and deeply human. They examine themes of redemption, resilience, and the complicated nature of people and relationships. Each page is shaped by truth, experience, and imagination working together.

If you are drawn to stories that confront darkness while still leaving room for hope, you are in the right place. These are stories meant to be felt, not skimmed. Welcome to my world, where fiction feels real, and every word is written with intention.

I look forward to connecting with you as a reader, a fellow writer, and a fitness enthusiast, and sharing stories, inspiration, and a shared passion for growth and transformation.

Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wow!! This is my in introduction to Tina S Transformation, and now I'm thinking, what have I been missing!
I have a couple of her books in my TBR and I sure do have the need to read.
I got the chance to read this ARC of "Lost"
I thank Tina for this opportunity.

Lost is a hugely addictive dark psychological horror, a fast-paced and intense supernatural thriller that held me in deep suspense.

The search was on for deputy Kizer who went missing whilst on a call.
Kizer's cruiser was found in the woods upturned in a ditch in inexplicable circumstances and Kizer's body was found further into the woods, only it wasn't Kizer, the body was replicated to look like her.

As the hunt draws closer to the truth, they discover more horrors and something more sinister, it turns into a case of missing people, manipulated scenes deliberately altered to misdirect the search, and mutilated bodies.

A truly haunting story of the supernatural, reality and delusion, a chilling tale that ends in a devastating realisation and a determination for retribution.

I was hooked by this book, it totally grabbed my attention and I read it in one sitting, I just could not put it down.
Very highly recommend this exciting horror thriller.

Lost – The Search for Deputy Kizer by Tina S Transformation

First things first: thank you for this ARC. Truly. And thank you to Inside Story for letting me emotionally spiral for most of the reading experience. Always appreciated.

Stories like this are my weakness. The kind that don’t politely knock, but kick the door in and sit down right next to your deepest fears like they pay rent there. It’s a short story, but don’t let that fool you — this thing wastes zero time getting under your skin and making itself comfortable.

Lost pulled me out of reality while feeling painfully familiar. Not close to home in a literal sense — but disturbingly close to my personal fear bank. The kind you don’t think about unless a book drags it into the light and says, “Hey. Let’s talk.”

The story is split into two parts. The first follows Rose, a woman in law enforcement, hunting a serial killer who does not mess around. Bodies destroyed beyond recognition. Brutality without apology. You’re instantly pulled into the investigation — the hunt, the tension — but also into Rose’s personal life. She’s a wife. A mother. A whole human being, not just a badge.

And then… the deputy goes missing.

Everything shifts. The ground drops out from under you. The direction changes in a way you absolutely don’t see coming.

I won’t say more — because I’m not cruel enough to rob you of the slow, devastating realization this story delivers. Just know this: it becomes less about the hunt and more about loss. About denial. About unfinished business. About what happens when you’re forced to say goodbye while every part of you is screaming that you’re not ready. About holding on when reality is demanding you let go.

This book wrecked me more than I expected — and more than I wanted to admit. The emotions are heavy. The fear lingers. The thoughts it plants don’t leave quietly. It stares straight at grief, justice, and the monsters humans can be… and then asks whether justice even means what we want it to mean.

Does it offer closure?
Justice?
Peace?

Maybe. Maybe not.

Five stars. Five unfinished business stars. Because any story that destroys me emotionally and makes me keep reading like I’m possessed deserves them.

Fair warning: if you have a weak stomach or your mental state is already hanging by a thread, maybe step away. Hug your people. Touch grass. Choose peace.

But if you’re part of the please rip my heart open while I read club?

Yeah.
This one’s for you.

Deputy Kizer is the kind of coworker you don’t forget. Quick with a joke, easy to work with, always ready to throw a playful jab. But after one shift, something feels… off. It’s easy to brush it off as paranoia — until the Sheriff calls to say Deputy Kizer never reported back. Maybe it wasn’t just in her head after all.

When a gruesome body is discovered, the case takes a turn that’s both shocking and deeply unsettling. The cruiser is there. The scene is horrific. And as the investigation unfolds, it leads straight to land owned by Raymond Keller, a man Deputy Kizer and her partner have had their eyes on for a while. What they uncover is darker and more disturbing than anyone expected.

This story goes deep. It’s gritty, emotional, and at times hard to stomach. Tina has a way of pulling raw emotion out of you —making you want to scream, cry, and maybe even throw the book across the room — all in just about a hundred pages.

“Lost” by Tina S. Transformation is a gripping dive into the paranormal that masterfully blends horror with deep emotional impact. Tina’s storytelling is nothing short of powerful. She has an incredible gift for channeling raw emotion into her characters and settings, making every twist and revelation hit with full effect. The eerie atmosphere she creates is immersive, and the horror elements are chilling without feeling excessive. Yet it’s the emotional core of the story that truly stands out. The pain of loss, the longing for connection, and the slivers of hope buried in darkness—all of these themes are portrayed with intensity and emotional depth. Tina strikes a rare balance: she terrifies you and touches your heart, sometimes in the very same sentence.
If you’re a fan of paranormal fiction with a strong emotional weight, “Lost” is an absolute must-read.

This is a chilling descent into obsession, deception, and predation. Tina S. Transformation delivers a thriller that feels calculated and cruel, where the search itself becomes the trap. Every revelation is darker than the last, blurring the line between investigation and nightmare. This isn’t a mystery you solve—it’s one that watches you unravel. Sinister, atmospheric, and deeply unsettling.
