Skye would do anything for her adopted daughter Ava, including pouring a pitcher of water over Ford Stanton’s head and ordering him to leave town when he informs her he’s Ava’s biological father.
If Ford had shown up earlier in his daughter’s life, he could have saved her from the living hell Ava endured at the hands of her biological mother. Ford Stanton is twelve years too late to come swaggering in with his devastating good looks, his money, and his bossy attitude disrupting the equilibrium she's established in Ava's and her home. There’s no room for him in their lives. Period. And there certainly is no room for him in their hearts.
When Ford asks Skye to give him five days for her to change her mind about him, she reluctantly agrees for Ava’s sake. Five days. That’s all. He couldn't possibly change her mind in five days, could he?
Enjoyed this family centered love story of Skye and Ford. The small sweet town they live in sounds ‘heavenly’ with great supporting characters. Skye is single mom who adopted Ava a preteen who had a rough upbringing from her mother, Shelley. Enter Ford, single and unpretentious wealthy man who has just found out he’s Ava’s father. Lots of drama, love and compassion shown between these 3 main characters along with Ford’s family. Story took a couple of turns I wasn’t expecting and story then caught all of my attention.

Good story with characters with colorful personalities, quick reactions (rightful or not), a helpful community, great friends, and various situations to deal with. Sometimes it's nice when a hero swoops in and takes away problems that are piling high. But the heroine is independent, so it's not that easy. It's sad that family bonding time takes the least part of the story. Overall, I like the story's problematic, chaotic sides, wonderful, sweet kindness, amusing, and emotional parts, great adoptive mother, wonderful daughter and her adorable father. 4.5⭐️

The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building continues to excel and be solidly drawn. Another great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Finding us is a heartfelt story that drew me into Ford and Skye. She adopts Ava a young girl who comes from a dysfunctional home. She and Ford meet when he comes to her store, but when she learns who he is she goes ballistic. It is emotional and empowering when she gives him a chance to prove the caliber of a man that he is. I enjoyed reading this story as I connected with these two throughout the development of their relationship.

Skye is a single mom when she adopted Ava who had a rough life with her mother Shelly so when Ford shows up at her shop to get to know the daughter he never knew about until recently Skye does not respond very well. Skye and Ford agree to takes things slow while he gets to know his daughter but a serious situation demands they speed things along. I loved this sweet quirky romance with unique characters.
