I don't know, 4 stars is probably stupid high for this. But Curt Pires is making a comic book that reads like he took a bunch of Playstation 2 games and shaken them all up together. You can hide your influences or you can make your Final Fantasy character fight a Darksiders character on a Star Wars cliff. And Luca Casalanguida's art makes it all work. I'm here for it.

Interesting world, colorful art and nonsensical gibberish writing… im not sure the best editor would know what to do with the mismanagement of this confusing, unoriginal and repetitive story.

After this one I don't know if Image should keep trusting that much on Pires creating his own universe.

Curt Pires is such a cool dude. His love of making comics is infectious, and I'm not gonna lie, the interviews I've seen where he talks really inspired me to get back into Lost Fantasy. I dropped it after volume 1, not because it was bad but the pacing and story just weren't for me and I had just had a bad breakup with my entire Radiant Black collection (sorry not sorry) and some of my Image books hit the chopping block harder than they should have.

But man, that Curt Pires guy is really cool.
So I grabbed some copies and got back in before those first print back issues became second prints. This volume picked up the pace and introduced a dope villain. I won't say that the writing is my favorite thing ever, but the various cast and character designs paired with Pires ability to just be enthusiastic about making comics makes Lost Fantasy a pleasure that I don't feel guilty for indulging in.

Comics are fun.

ive read them as single issues.

the art is definitely weaker than Casalanguida's. they only do a few pages of a b a ck up i think if at all (which is leading to fireborn/a spin off)

I understand that Henry is angry and scared for his father's well being but he does feel different to the characcter in the first volume. we see what happened in Valencia qhich also leads to more questions about henry's past. there was a female characters who surely will be revealed as a sister.

ill stick with just volume 1.
