When my bond was severed, it took two years to recover. Two years of pain, medication, and rebuilding myself from the ground up. So when I finally felt ready to live again, I did what any sane omega would do.
I had a wild weekend in Prague.
I didn’t expect for my body to stir for the first time in two years. And by the time I realised what was happening, it was already too late.
I was in heat. Something the doctors told me might never happen again.
And that’s where the complications really start because the men that night. Well, they were…Bratva. So, I fled. Being an Irish mafia princess already on the run from a man whose bond I had severed, I didn’t want that life again.
But, now I’m looking around my home where the bed and sofa are in the same room, and the sleeping stray dog on my bed thinks I’m its mother. On top of that, my belly is about to pop, and I need a stroke of luck.
What I desperately need is baby stuff before I drop.
But can I use the credit card I stole from one of the men? Or is that really playing with fire?
Pack Baby for the Bratva is a cozy why choose omegaverse with an older omega, two Bratva brothers and their enforcer who is secretly a dog lover.
You know the third LOTR movie where the main story ended and we were all ready to get up out of the theater after an already long movie, but then it just kept going with extra scene after extra scene, and then some more extra scenes, and even those of us who had read the books were sitting there half out of our seats, legs bouncing, wondering which ending was actually the ending? And then it ended and everyone still sat there for a moment wondering if another scene was going to come on because that's how long it took for the movie to actually end?
That's what this book felt like.
At around 66%, the story ended and everything after that felt like the longest epilogue I've ever experienced. I mean, it wasn't an epilogue, but everything that happened after that point, up until the actual ending at 98%, was things you'd put in an epilogue.
And hey, I appreciate a solid bow tied on every possible string there was to tie, but maybe extend the actual storyline a bit so it doesn't feel like a neverending story.
Good there was no way this was not written by ai. There was spelling errors, time line issues. I mean like look at the end she goes to the highland bean to give her book. Lena like I don’t know what happened to you I thought you were dead because one day the paper showed up! But if we rewind to like 50ish percent we can remember that Maeve called Lena to tell her she was t coming back, that the highland bean was hers.
Then let’s not forgot in the middle of a page there was so many times we would be in one time line and jump it. I finished this book because well I had to know how had.
It also had that stupid AI humor where it was all like one liners. Just sucked.
Okay so if someone wanted to actually take this and strip away the AI trash and actually write it the bones of the story are there. Sucks that AI was apart of this.
If you're giving this book anything above a two star rating I'm seriously doubting your opinion of what is a "Good Book".
I went into this knowing it was going to be on the lower end of the scale but i was thinking a two or three atar read. Instead it's a dnf at 54% of the way through because it was worse than trash. This story had no flow, no true background, and every event was plucked from the air instead of carefully crafted.
The first chapter is basically fear mixed with hungry need. Firat paragraph talking about dripping thighs and gushing female bits ...not a great start. And then again a brief mention of a past that we dont even get a good grasp on before slammed back into the present where the female lead is now pregnant and supposedly hiding while doing a terrible job of it.
This story was all over the place. And everyone spoke as if they were learning English for the first time, and acting like they knew each other for years instead of a one night stand. No real relationship building, no romance just a book of listed actions.
Overall, this one wasn't for me. I just found I couldn't connect with any of the characters.
One major issue I had (which I haven't seen others mention) is:
This is the third book by this author I have read. The second book was book 10 in a shared universe with multiple authors all following the same hockey team. Ten books into the already established world/universe and the author changed how scents and bonds and mating entirely worked.
I mention this because that's also what has happened here. In book one (Pack for the Billionaires) which is set in this world (Presley even cameos) scents are entirely different. Omegas have a 'base' scent, and a few other 'hidden' scents that come out during their heat. This is the only way they find their mates.
In this book (and also in the 10th book of the Knotty Puckers), Alphas have 1 scent and omegas will have all of the scents of their alphas. In this book Maeve's scent is caramel, champagne and storm-cloud. The three guys each have one of these scents (or at least that is what is said, however it switches. At one point Artem is champagne, in another he's caramel. The other two aren't really specified as to which one they are).
Also like in Knotty Puckers (only this author's book: book 10) and this one, packs are not the norm. When the fmcs mentions being with all three of them they get odd looks or "Really, all three?" comments. There's more talk of marriage than there is bonding, etc. Which again, is fine if you haven't already established the shared world.
There are many issues with this book, including a lot of wasted potential.
But I absolutely draw the line at NOT REMEMBERING THE NAME OF THE CAT IN THE FIRST BOOK.
Ffs, the fact that there was a storyline around Mr Cheddar was bad enough. But to keep calling him Mr BARNEY in this book. Zero excuse. Not for the author. Not for any editor - if there was one.
Idk if this is AI or not, but I’m pretty sure I could take this book, my issues with it, slap it into AI and come up with a better version.
I try not to be this harsh, but come on. Mr Cheddar. Ffs 🤦♀️
DNF 66% The characters have zero substance and the mmc’s are indistinguishable. The same sayings and sentences kept getting repeated over and over. There were “jokes” basically every other sentence.
I love omegaverse. I love cozy omegaverse in particular. I especially love omegaverse where tough women are celebrated. I wanted to like this book so much.
And there really is a lot here to like. This story has a lot about it that's funny and clever. I loved Maeve’s resilience after surviving her first marriage, her love and dedication to Mary, and her intimacy with Presley. I loved the moments where her perceived distress, crying on the phone while talking to the friend she missed dearly, nearly triggered a Bratva attack on a business centre. I loved how Artem softened the second he became a father.
Unfortunately, two of the three alphas, Gregor and Ivan, felt almost indistinguishable to me. Both came across as variations on the same enforcer type, and I struggled to feel a distinct emotional connection to either of them.
The larger issue, though, was the prose. I want to be careful here, because I do not have proof of anything about the author’s process. But as a reader, parts of the book repeatedly had the feel of AI-smoothing or AI-adjacent humour.
I don’t mean “there were em dashes.” That is not a serious tell. I mean the repeated pattern of non-sentient objects being given suspicious motives or mock-legal status: babies with illegally small fingernails, a murderous sofa or breast pump, dogs that tolerate incompetence selectively. I mean phrases that sounded funny at first glance but became less coherent the longer I looked at them, like “medically concerning stubbornness,” “performing one respectable biscuit,” or “medical training that consists of bullet removal and glaring.” I mean metaphors that had a strong surface sparkle but did not quite hold together, such as “a perfume ad for organised crime.”
There were also moments with what I think of as AI-style cadence: short, punchy sentence fragments stacked before a longer explanatory sentence, with each sentence essentially rephrasing the same idea rather than deepening it.
The other thing that prompted the question in my mind was the way the writing often explained the emotional meaning of a phrase after showing it physically.
Any of these on their own would not be conclusive evidence of anything. But layered together across one book, it became hard for me not to wonder.
That was frustrating, because the parts that felt most clearly authored, such as the prologue, were genuinely delightful. A lot of the story had a distinct authorial voice, and the parts that did were really great to read. There are so many interesting ideas in this book, and when that voice comes through cleanly, it works.
I don't oppose AI on principle. I've got no issue with writers using tools for structural checks, consistency, spelling, formatting, or punctuation—or tools that motivate them to keep writing. But the final prose still needs to feel unmistakably like the author’s voice is the one telling the story.
For me, there were too many moments where the prose felt over-smoothed or mechanically patterned, and that made the book harder to trust, even though the story underneath had real promise.
I had high hopes for this one. The plot sounded great, and could’ve been spectacular if done well. Unfortunately the execution lacked. . . well, everything. Nothing seemed thought out, nothing was deep enough to make you actually feel anything. The FMC is heavily pregnant and cooked a singular omelette for dinner to split among 4 full grown adults and the MMCs didn’t react at all? One noted that it seemed like splitting it into separate portions almost seemed practiced, like she’s done it before to make meals stretch, but that’s as far as the thought goes. No meaningful dialogue (no meaningful dialogue through the ENTIRE book.) Everything felt half done and stilted. Disconnected. Dialogue didn’t make sense. The thoughts from the different characters didn’t really feel like real people. No real connections between any of the characters. DNF’d at 48%. This could’ve been so much better had more care and intent been put into writing it.
I enjoyed the book but there was a disconnect between characters.
I enjoyed the book but there was a disconnect between the alphas and the omega and I'm not sure if it was intentional or not. Maeve, the Irish omega and the three Russian alphas didn't come together in this book as easily. When the book transitioned to the POV of either Gregor or Ivan, it became stilted or rather rigid and was not very successful and because of this the book felt off. Also the story jumped around a bit that lead to it feeling disjointed. But there were so many good things too, loved Fergus' role in the story, we all need a three pound attack dog and the fact that the Russian enforcer takes the dog was amusing. We got our happily ever after and a continuation of the story with Maeve's sister Mary taking place next.
Another solid book in the series. Very mafia with how the main MMC dealt with everything.
Maeve, omega, side char from 1st book, is quasi settled in Scotland, running a bookstore-cafe. She's barely making ends meet. She uses the black credit card "accidentally" put in her pocket the night she got pregnant - to buy a crib and few necessities.
The pack is able to track her. They are mafia.
M1, alpha, oldest son & heir apparent M2, alpha, younger brother and enforcer M3, alpha, taciturn and bodyguard
M3 ends up delivering the baby while 1&2 are otw to Russia for inheritance meeting right after their dad dies.
(Spoiler) The girl his dad arranged for him to marry is the younger sister of his scent matched baby mama. Their dad pretended she was dead, funeral and all, after she ran away from the man he sold her to.

I liked the idea of the storyline, but everything felt disjointed. The first chapter is nine months before the main storyline, we spend a while in the main storyline, and then… We read the first chapter, again? And then we go back to the present. Such a weird format. Also very strange is the fact that at 63% (where I decided to DNF), it feels like the story is over. I thought I was reading the epilogue, just to see that somehow there’s 37% left. This kind of makes sense though, because there was no falling in love or character building. Just, boom, the scent matches are back and they love her and she loves them. This suddenness is compounded by the fact that every piece of dialogue is some version of sarcasm and sounds exactly the same. These characters literally had no chance at showing meaningful character development when they never get to connect.
I really enjoyed Maeve's journey of surviving her father, her horrible ex and finally finding her pack after 9 months on the run. I love her sarcastic, playful nature with the Bratva members: Artem whose the heir, Ivan whose his brother and Gregor the enforcer. I really liked Gregor the most for his secret affection for Maeve's dog Fergus who won his heart over and became a security dog. The moments all of them had with the baby was so cute, Ivan humming to help him sleep was adorable.
The plot overall had low angst for me with some heated scenes. An enjoyable read with some cute moments and all baddies get their just deserts. Worth it just for Gregor and Fergus moments and looking forward to Mary's future story!
I’ve been desperately waiting for Mauve’s story since her character was introduced as Presley’s best friend in Pack Baby for the Billionaires.
Pack baby for the Bratva is a lovely low angst book. They fall first, fast and hard. The alphas are super supportive and she is the centre of there world.
There is enough story to keep the pace interesting and interspersed with medium spice. It has plenty of humour and the overall feel is very calm.
I love all three alphas but Gregor is my favourite especially his interactions with Mauve’s dog.
Absolutely loved this book and looking forward to the next in this universe.
There is so much to say about this one and it was so good. The banter was on point I had such a hard time with the quotes I loved so many. Maeve was just hilarious, she threatens everyone with such style.
This is mafia omegaverse with accidental heat and pregnancy. So mafia vibes with omegaverse love. She runs from them after her heat and they find her and will do anything for her and her sister. That was a twist I did not see coming.
Then add in Fergus the yorkie that thinks he is the biggest dog on the block and everyone obeys him. Even his favorite alpha, who also buys him sweaters 😂.
If you love omegaverse and a very sarcastic omega I totally recommend this one.
I feel like I waited forever for this book and I after reading it I can say with full confidence that the wait was absolutely worth it. The story was so well done and all of the characters were well written. There were just enough spicy scenes that were done very tastefully. It focused a little more on the emotional aspect of it, and it didn’t seem like a cop out to get out of writing spicy scenes. Definitely recommend. The banter by itself is five star worthy.
I devoured Maeve's story in 1 day! From beginning to end I was hooked!
I loved Maeve. She was resilient, hardworking, no push over, and funny. I loved the jokes she made from time to time. I loved each of her men too I may have had a soft spot for Gregor though.
This book had drama, some danger, betrayal, some suspense. We also got humor, emotional moments, and steam. Another excellent book by Evie Ellis!
this was a really good read I love book's where they make there men chase them there fun to read this one was no excepection it was great she just wasn't runnig from one but many which made it more compalacted for her but she seemed to make it though just fine and they all got thier heat I will most defentley be reading her sister mary's story can't wait for that one. this is the first book i've read from this author but it won't be my last.
I loved the humour in this book, it had me laughing so many times. The banter between the characters was amazing and I totally fell in love with all of them while reading. I loved the story, it kept me hooked all the way through and I read the book in one sitting. I would recommend giving this book a read.
I really enjoyed Maeve’s story! We met her a bit back in Pack Baby for the Billionaires. I really enjoyed her sarcasm. There were a handful of times I laughed at her comments. The ending has me wanting Mary's story.
It’s quite a light book to read for the most part. Some parts made me laugh out loud. I enjoyed the story but I wish the main female lead had put up a bit more resistance to accepting her alphas.
I loved Maeve and her alphas. I really enjoyed the banter and all the wonderful characters. Fergus cracks me up. I liked how Maeve transitions and grows into a bada$$ Brava wife. I can't wait to read Mary's book.
This was an alright summer read but it lacked something, particularly hotness for an omegaverse novel. I liked the FMC and her progress. The dog was cute! There were some funny lines but the angst was too quickly resolved.
I really enjoyed this. Great plot, great characters and excellent banter. I stayed mostly engaged the whole time, it defintily leans more on the fluffy side. Touch of grey in the underlying plot, but any tension is worked out quickly.
Story 3⭐️ Spice 3🌶️ Several inconsistencies and somewhat anticlimactic. Not my favorite author, but I’m invested in the characters, so I will keep reading.
Loved the characters and was so excited for this book & as always I was not disappointed. Don’t question if it’s good, just read it!!! Bring on Mary’s book 📖.
This book in the series was exciting and full of action and tension. I really enjoyed the characters and their personalities which were full and engaging.
I enjoyed this story. It is tied to the previous book Pack Baby for the Billionaires. These are standalone so you don't need to read the previous book but we do see some characters from it. In this book, we get Maeve's backstory and where she is going next. I am excited to read the next book in the series.
I liked the story, but the writing was messed up. Was this AI generated? There were so many inconsistencies with the first book that I had to look back to refresh my memory only to discover that I remembered correctly and this book just changed everything up. The way scents work was different. The name of the cat from the first book was wrong. Will Fergus be called Stephen in book three?
