The Silence of Lies

Rate this book
My name is Elowen, and I'm about to go into heat in the middle of the black market.

I presented as a beta my whole life, right up until my parents were killed and my body decided to rewrite itself from the inside out. They call it a late transition. Like waking up one morning as the most hunted thing on the planet is just a developmental milestone.

Since then, I've kept my head down and worked off the grid, swallowing suppressants and smiling at monsters in an attempt to stay hidden. Every day, I fill prescriptions for the very drugs they use to keep omegas like me docile, and I've swallowed every ounce of guilt that comes with it. All because the truth about what happened to my parents is buried somewhere in this world, and the only way to dig it up is to keep passing as the beta I used to be.

But the suppressants are failing. My cover is crumbling as my body turns against me in a camp full of alphas who would claim me, cage me, or worse. But my instincts have locked onto the one scent I can't resist.

He's a beta who belongs to a bonded pack that smells un-fucking-believable.

I want them.

I need them.

I just have to survive this market first.

An interesting story, with some great details, and wonderful character development and world building, not my usual type of book.

Sadly elements could have been developed further, and fully developed, explored, and adapted.

A four-star novel

This was a solid read. The world building was really good and the characters even better. I was a bit confused on how she was so poor with basically nothing in her apartment. Her coworker, who worked below her, was talking about going on vacation to a tropical place. How is he making more than her? It didn’t make any sense when she’s the pharmacist and he’s the lackey. The plot felt like it ended pretty quickly. The book was mostly spent on her relationship with her pack.

I will definitely be on the lookout for more books from this author.

Elle was an interesting FMC, she has so many layers and is used to being on her own. I enjoyed seeing her bloom during her time with the pack.

Perrin was my favorite!! I’m a sucker for a bashful MMC and he was just so demure and sweet.

Cliff and Raff are the definition of ALPHAS. Obsessed, possessive, and maybe a bit controlling, but whatever it takes to keep their pack safe and happy.

I love that we got little peaks at all the relationships within the pack.

The sibling bond was apparent and felt real which I enjoyed!

I struggled to like Adam. By the end I enjoyed his connection with Elle, still I wish we got to see their relationship grow more.

I can’t believe this is the end but am so ready for whatever Kitt writes next!!

Elowen has been living life on the edge for the past three years. No support. No safety net. Just a bare, suffocating apartment and constant, razor-thin survival. She’s an unmated Omega hiding inside a black-market trafficking hub (already insane), literally dispensing the very drugs used to control her kind while quietly, obsessively hunting the monster who murdered her parents. Her only clue? A single business card left at the scene. That’s it. That’s her lead. That’s her entire life’s direction. And somehow… she’s still standing. Elowen survives on instinct, grit, and sheer audacity. Procuring illegal suppressants to keep her designation hidden, while smiling right back at the dangerous men all around her. Fear is always there, but never enough to stop her. And then, of course, everything detonates. When her suppressants fail RIGHT before an Omega auction (because of course they do), she’s suddenly trapped in an arena of Alphas, panic climbing the walls, survival mode fully activated. What follows is chaos, adrenaline, and a very urgent “get me out of here” situation. Enter Pack Durrant. Perfect timing. They jump in, no hesitation, full-force rescue mode in effect, and suddenly the whole story tilts off its axis. Because what starts as pure survival thriller slams into something else entirely once they escape the black market together. Romance. Possessive, protective, emotionally volatile romance. Cliff’s pack wasn’t even looking for an Omega. They already have their own baggage, loyalty, tension, desire, unresolved everything. And then Elowen just… slots into it anyway like a missing puzzle piece no one expected. Cliff is the calm, steady head of the pack; the one holding this disaster together. Raff, the fierce protector with a grin that says he would absolutely commit crimes for Elowen. (My favorite. No contest.) Perrin whose soft edges and humor are the pack‘s emotional glue. I loved his meet cute with Elowen. And Adam, the emotionally distant wall-of-ice man… who gets painfully cracked open by reality. And honestly? The dynamics were half the fun. Nothing is instant. Nothing is smooth. Everything is slightly messy, slightly tense, constantly shifting like someone keeps moving the emotional furniture while you’re still in the room. It is SO good. Elowen herself is unreal. Three years of that kind of existence should’ve turned her hollow, but instead she’s sharp, adaptive, and still somehow gentle underneath it all. That contrast? Chef’s kiss. And the pack reactions? Even better. Everyone processes her differently. Everyone adjusts at their own pace. Everyone has feelings about it that they are absolutely NOT emotionally equipped to handle. Adam especially—WHEW. At first, I was not convinced. Too distant. Too closed off. I wanted to shake him a little. But then the story hits him with a reality check so brutal it basically forces him to see her, properly, for the first time. And from there? The shift in solidarity is so satisfying it hurts. Meanwhile Cliff is holding the group together like a stressed-out emotional CEO, and Perrin is keeps diffusing the tension with humor like it’s a survival skill. The pack chemistry? Ridiculous. In the best way. Individually, together, in pairs, in group scenes—it all works. And yes, it gets spicy. Very. The protective intensity makes everything hit harder, like an emotional pressure cooking until it’s basically overflowing. But what I loved most were the quiet moments under all the chaos. Elowen learning she can actually trust people. Rely on them. Breathe without constantly bracing for impact. Slowly shifting from “I survive alone” to “I don’t have to.” The whole pack dynamic evolves from crisis survival mode into something chosen. Earned. Messy. Protective. Fiercely, dangerously loving. Everyone bleeding a little, healing a little, clinging a little. And it’s perfect. Final verdict: this is a fantastic end to the series. Big stakes, emotional chaos, protective romance overload, and a payoff that delivers. I couldn’t get enough.

Elowen’s life for the past three years has been a total nightmare. She’s been living completely isolated in a bare, miserable apartment with absolutely no support, risking her freedom every single second. She’s an unmated Omega hiding in plain sight at a black-market trafficking site, sorting the exact drugs used to control her own kind, all to find the monster who killed her parents. The only clue she has is a business card left by their bodies. Her sharp survival instincts, her ability to score illegal suppressants, and the way she smiles in the face of monsters just to get by is incredible. But when her suppressants fail right before an omega auction, she’s trapped in a sea of Alphas and has to make a harrowing escape. Luckily, Pack Durrant is in the right place at the right time. They jump straight into action to help her, and once they escape the black market together, her world shifts from a nail-biting survival thriller into an intense, protective romance.

I was literally biting my nails through the first quarter of this book! My absolute favourite scene is definitely that high-action, intense situation Elowen and the Durrant pack find themselves in right at the beginning. It starts the book with such an incredible rush before evening out into a gentle story about a pack building their bonds. I admired Elowen immensely for how she managed to survive for three years in such a horrible, intense situation, yet she still kept such a gentle nature.

The characters have so much personality, but Raff quickly became my favourite out of the pack because I just loved his fierceness mixed with his playful side. On the flip side, I actually wasn't very keen on Adam at first. He felt a little too distant in the beginning, especially considering everything poor Elowen had already been through. However I soon warmed up to him, even more so when a major plot twist forced him to understand exactly how horrid and lonely her life had been without anyone to support her. The solidarity that grows between them after that became a total highlight for me. Cliff is wonderful as the calm head of the unit who ensures everything runs smoothly, and Perrin is a total comfort character whose humor completely breaks up the heavy tension.

The pack meshes together beautifully, delivering some great, steamy scenes both individually and as a pack. Honestly, the identity of the actual killer went completely over my head, but I loved how Cliff and Raff handled it in the end! This is a great, highly satisfying finish to the series. I loved the journey from the high-stakes beginning to the protective romance at the end.

The Silence of Lies was such an addictive dark omegaverse read and honestly had me hooked much faster than I expected 👀🖤

One thing I really appreciated was how the book introduces the omegaverse world early on. It explains the dynamics clearly without overcomplicating things, which made the story easy to settle into even with all the darker themes and pack politics happening in the background.

Elowen was definitely the standout for me. She’s spent years surviving completely alone while hiding who she truly is, and you can really feel the exhaustion, fear, and loneliness surrounding her character. Despite everything she’s been through, she still has this softer side to her that made me want to root for her immediately 😭

The tension throughout the first part of the book was probably one of my favourite aspects. There’s this constant feeling that everything could fall apart at any moment, especially once the pack enters the picture. I also loved that the relationships didn’t instantly become perfect. Every member of the pack reacted differently to the changing dynamic, which made the relationships feel more believable and emotionally layered.

Raff was probably my personal favourite because he balanced protective intensity with a more playful side, while Cliff brought a calmer and steadier presence to the group. I also really enjoyed Perrin’s energy because he helped lighten some of the heavier moments throughout the story. Adam took me a little longer to warm to, but I ended up appreciating the emotional growth surrounding his character and the way his relationship with Elowen developed over time.

And the spice??? 🥵🔥
This book absolutely does not hold back. There’s a lot of variety in the relationship dynamics throughout the story (MM, MMF, MMMFM), and the chemistry between the characters was genuinely one of the strongest parts of the book for me. The emotional connection mixed with the possessive/protective energy made the spicy scenes even better 👀

I also really enjoyed the softer moments underneath all the chaos. The scenes where Elowen slowly begins to feel safe, cared for, and accepted by the pack added a lot of emotional depth to the story and balanced the darker themes really well.

Overall, this was a really enjoyable dark why choose romance with strong pack dynamics, emotional moments, high tension, and a VERY high spice

I received this as an arc and omg, I wish I wasn’t so busy this past week cause this book is super binge worthy. I was nervous at first, because I’m like “this is my first arc, will I be able to finish it on time?” Girl, I read this during all my free time, it was addicting and super easy to get into. It also had my favorite omegaverse trope; “a beta who’s not actually a beta but he just doesn’t know it yet and he’s just a late blooming omega”. We love latent omegas around here, it makes things more spicy and fun.

I’m gonna try to avoid spoilers the best I can as I rant and rave about The Silence of Lies. First of all, please read and listen to the tws. Every single one of them. I like to put that as a reminder in every dark romance book that I review because some people expect honey in a bottle labeled hot sauce. Then they’re upset when their mouth is burning when the bottle was labeled hot sauce from the beginning. (Ps. This isn’t a jab towards people who’re upset when something pops up in a book that wasn’t labeled correctly in the beginning. That’s a whole different convo. Trust me, I read ao3 and when something isn’t tagged properly. Phew, I get it, it’s aggravating, but like I said before; a whole different convo.)

Anyway, y’all already know how I feel about a certain someone being a late blooming omega (hint: it’s not the fmc), but I also adore how jealousy was treated in this book. I love me some no jealousy polyamory, but if the author added in some jealousy for realism or for plot or whatever, it (sometimes) always comes with hatred or bullying or whatever (no hatred whatsoever to authors who do do that ofc). I love that this book DID NOT go down that path. There was communication between the two and acceptance and hard work to work on that jealousy. I so adored that, you rarely see it.

Another thing I loved about this book, and it’s a minor thing, is the twins. I’m not a fan of twins in why choose or poly books because obviously it can (notice how I say CAN, not always) get a bit weird, sometimes borderline incest. This doesn’t have that at all and I love that. Their bond is purely familial and the closest they get is being in the same room during a rut. It’s a breath of fresh air honesty.

This review was way longer than I expected ngl, but I was given the privilege of reading this early so I will deliver a detailed review, or as non spoiler-y and detailed as I can achieve. I give this a solid 3.5 or 4 rounded up!

A hidden omega, a haunted past, and a pack worth risking all for.

Elowen has spent years hiding in plain sight, masking her scent and working inside the same black market system that destroys omegas like her. She’s guarded, smart, and desperate for answers, but when her heat breaks through at the Morder, survival stops being something she can control alone.

Cliff’s pack wasn’t looking for an omega. They already have love, loyalty, desire, old wounds, and complicated bonds of their own. But Elowen’s instincts lock onto them anyway, pulling her toward Cliff’s steady dominance, Raff’s fierce devotion, Perrin’s gentle care, and Adam’s fragile understanding.

What starts as panic and biology turns into something deeper, messier, and far more intimate. Elowen has to learn what it means to be protected without being caged, desired without being used, and loved without shrinking herself to fit.

Every member of the pack brings something different to Elowen's life. The romance isn't built around a single relationship but around a growing sense of trust, acceptance, and belonging that slowly transforms all of them.

Elowen grows from isolation and secrecy into someone willing to trust, depend on others, and imagine a future beyond grief. Cliff steadies her, Raff anchors her, Perrin softens the landing, and Adam becomes a reminder that healing and self-acceptance don't happen alone.

Their pack dynamic grows from crisis and uncertainty into something fiercely chosen. Through heat, healing, jealousy, care, and vulnerability, they build a relationship where pleasure matters, safety matters, and no one has to carry everything alone.

An ultra-steamy, dark why choose omegaverse romance with pack bonds, latent identity, protective mates, found family, and a long-buried search for truth. It’s about finding safety after isolation and discovering love can be chosen every day.

The Elevator Pitch: A woman who has spent years hiding what she is finds herself pulled into the orbit of a fiercely loyal pack just as the past begins closing in around her. What starts as a desperate fight for survival becomes a search for truth, belonging, and a place where every scar is seen instead of hidden. As old secrets surface and new bonds deepen, healing and heartbreak become impossible to separate.

Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance

✨📖 ARC REVIEW — The Silence of Lies by Kitt Lynn 📖✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 / 5

This book absolutely consumed me emotionally. 🖤🌸

The Silence of Lies is dark, protective, emotional, healing, and FULL of that intense “touch her and die” energy while still somehow feeling incredibly soft underneath all the danger. From the very beginning, Elowen’s story pulled me in completely. Watching her go from surviving alone for years to slowly learning how to trust and let herself be cared for genuinely hurt in the best way possible. 😭✨

And THE PACK??? 🐺

Every single character brought something different:
🖤 Raff’s intensity
🕯 Cliff’s steady protectiveness
📚 Perrin’s quiet loyalty
💊 Milo’s softness
🤍 Adam’s comfort and reassurance
🏡 Odette being the emotional heart of everything

Together, they created one of the best found family dynamics I’ve read in a while. The care, the protection, the emotional attachment, the way they all slowly become her safe place??? I was OBSESSED. 😭🌸

The black market setting added so much tension to the story too. It constantly felt dangerous and emotional at the same time, and the hidden identity/survival aspects made it impossible to stop reading. ⛓✨

The reason this wasn’t a full 5⭐️ for me is honestly just because there were a few moments where I wanted certain emotional scenes and character interactions to be a little longer or explored a bit deeper before moving on. BUT that honestly didn’t stop me from enjoying this book at all. 🖤

If you love:
🌸 Omegaverse
🐺 Protective alphas
🕯 Found family
🔪 Possessive romance
✨ Trauma healing
📖 Emotional vulnerability
⛓ Hidden identities
🤍 “Who hurt you?” energy

…you NEED to read this book immediately.

This book feels like:
🌸 bruised flowers
🕯 candlelight comfort
⛓ golden cages
✨ soft touches after survival
🐺 dangerous men becoming home

The Black Market Omegas series officially owns me now. 🖤

thank you for including me in your art team so glad I was included @kittlynnauthor

ARC Review

I tore through The Silence of Lies by Kitt Lynn with the kind of adrenaline you usually only get from stories where the danger feels immediate, and the protagonist has every reason to be afraid and every reason to keep pushing anyway.

Elowen’s voice hooked me from the start. From the very first pages, her life reads like a constant negotiation with survival: a beta who’s been late transitioning into something the world wants to hunt, a person forced to smile at monsters while doing the very work that keeps others docile because the truth about her parents is out there, and she’s determined to dig it up. That foundation makes her choices feel sharp, weighted, and deeply personal rather than just plot-driven.

The black market setting is tense in a way that never lets you settle. There’s a real sense of stakes and scarcity of being trapped in a system where power belongs to the alphas and safety is something you don’t get for free. And when Elowen’s suppressants start failing, the story doesn’t just escalate the danger; it tightens the emotional noose too. I liked that her instincts aren’t sudden love at first sight vibes, they’re primal, conflicted, and dangerous, which makes her urgency feel believable. It is even better when you add Adams transformation and you read the way he pushes through his new life combined with what he already knows.

Then there’s the bonded pack dynamic, messy, magnetic, and full of tension. The book takes Elowen’s longing and makes it feel like both a lifeline and a threat, because nothing about wanting to be claimed should be simple when you’ve spent your life being hunted.

The Silence of Lies is the kind of omegaverse tale that blends atmosphere, high-stakes suspense, and a heroine who refuses to be powerless. If you like stories with danger-first pacing, intense character motivation, and chemistry that feels earned, this one is absolutely worth your time.

Hidden designations and claiming your pack

I sat down to read this book and next thing I know it's almost 2:00 AM and the book is over. I absolutely love when a story grabs you and drags you into it.

I absolutely love an omega hiding as a beta or late blooming and doesn't know that they're an omega. Elowen is hiding her designation because she needs answers and those answers lie somewhere within the black market. She was a Beta until a tragic event activated her omega in a surprising turn of events.

Elle knew she shouldn't have been at the auction with her heat riding her so hard but she didn't listen to her body and finds herself in full blown heat in the worst possible place ever, the black market Omega auction. Thankfully the pack that rescues her is made up of good men.

I love the way this pack communicates. They are quick to dispel any jealousy or feelings of inadequacy. Even Elle is quick to acknowledge that she isn't there to steal the Alphas from the pack. I really enjoy watching them all find their place together and the way they worked seamlessly together whenever something unexpected threw a wrench into their lives.

I love how everyone was together in this pack except obviously the twins. This pack is absolutely filled with love and adoration.

I adored Adam and wanted him to be safe and secure. His anxiety, fear, and jealousy were understandable. His twin was the perfect beta. He was attentive, caring, and protective of his family.

I adored Mama O. She was this no nonsense Alpha woman who told it like it was. She was softer when needed but she was blunt and told it how it was. I love how she took care of the pack when they needed guidance or just avoid meal.

I'm sad to see this series end but I an excited to see what comes next. This was a a good farewell to the black market.

This has honestly got to be one of my favourite Omegaverse books I’ve read in a long time. I adored all of the characters and loved watching their relationships and the pack dynamic develop throughout the story.

When Elle started becoming part of their pack and Adam wasn’t sure how to feel about it, I loved how everyone reassured him that they still loved him and that nothing would ever change. It was such a sweet and emotional moment.

Perrin and Elle’s relationship absolutely stole my heart. Seeing how happy she made him and how much she brought him out of his shell was lovely to read. And that kiss when they get home? So sweet!

The surprise involving Adam was probably my favourite part of the whole book. I had a feeling it was going to happen, and I was so happy when it did. I absolutely love twists and surprises like that in stories.

I ended up reading this book in one day because I was completely addicted, I needed to know what happened next! And that ending? I definitely wasn’t expecting it, but it made perfect sense, and everything worked out beautifully in the end. Elle finally got the family and home she deserved.
After seeing the state of her flat, she truly deserved happiness. That flat scene honestly tugged at my heartstrings… I wanted to cry for the sweet omega ❤️

Overall, this book was emotional, addictive, heartwarming, and full of amazing character development. The relationships felt genuine, the pack dynamic was beautifully written, and every character brought something special to the story. I laughed, got emotional, and completely lost myself in the world Kitt Lynn created.

If you love Omegaverse stories with found family, sweet moments, emotional depth, and a few surprises along the way, then I would definitely recommend this book!

I've received this as an ARC. The Silence of Lies is the fifth and final book in the Black Market Omegas series, which is set in the same world as the author’s Broken Omegas series.

I've greatly enjoyed this book and I feel like this is a wonderful send-off book for the series. The dynamic between the pack and the FMC was very wonderful and well-balanced, especially with her struggling with her past trauma, being touch-starved, and focusing on revenge. The inclusion of the different beta dynamics were a very nice touch. Finding the right balance between the pack and FMC was very nice, especially with the deep empathy and care of the two male alphas in the pack.

I like the realistic impact of the chronic illness on the mental health of one of the pack members, feeding into the depression and insecurity they do bring. While the spice is there from the start, it comes off as intimate and shows the dynamic between everyone within the pack. Especially as a good way to connect between the pack members when they're feeling vulnerable.

One of the characters, Adam, drove me a bit insane with his POV. It kind of made me hate-read his PoV in the beginning until the reveal of the twist. The it got better. The other characters are wonderful on roller coaster ride of the novel, with the ups and downs of his character and development. But its what made the book so enjoyable at the end.

The Silence of Lies was such a fantastic read and easily one of my favorites in the series.

From the very beginning, I was completely invested in Elowen's story. The characters felt fully developed, the emotional depth was there, and the relationships within the pack were built so well that every connection felt meaningful. Watching them come together was one of my favorite parts of the book.

The pack dynamic was chef's kiss. The chemistry worked both individually and as a group, giving us plenty of steamy moments while still maintaining the emotional connection that made me care about everyone involved. The protective, possessive energy was exactly what I wanted.

And can we talk about that twist?

The reveal completely smacked me in the face. When everything finally came together, I literally had one of those "oh... that should have made sense way sooner" moments. I never saw the actual killer coming, and I loved that the clues were there all along without being obvious.

I also absolutely loved how Cliff and Raff handled everything in the end. The resolution felt satisfying, and the journey from the high-stakes beginning to the protective romance and found family ending was incredibly rewarding.

My only complaint is that I wanted more. I would have happily read another hundred pages with these characters because I wasn't ready for their story to end.

If you love dark omegaverse, why choose romance, protective packs, found family, mystery, and plenty of spice, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

Thank you to Kitt Lynn and BookSprout for providing me with an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own. ❤️🔥🐺📚

I got this book as an ARC and I am so glad I was able to read this! This is a dark romance series and if you have read the other books in this series, than you have an idea of this. This book starts with Elowen and she's in a sticky situation that soon gets out of hand when introduced to whom will become her future pack.

My girl Elowen was going through it in this book! She is an omega who is living her life as a beta and why she was doing this was so heartbreaking! I can't even imagine being in her situation. When she runs into the alphas, obviously, the men weren't going to leave her alone! However, this leads to further issues down the road but the pact has her back 100%. It started off rocky, however, due to the fact that the pack was not at the Black Market to look for an omega. This, in turn, caused a bit of friction between the already established relationships in the pack. But the communication? Top-tier! One of the things I hate in books is when communication is terrible on purpose, and this is not the case here.

The alphas are Cliff and Raf and they're amazing! The others are Perrin and Adam, whom are twins. And there was a twist about Adam that I had a feeling was coming and was pleasantly surprised when it turned out I was right! This brought a whole new dynamic to everything, but it didn't take anything away!

Tropes:
1. mmmfm(There is MM)
2. Hurt/Comfort
3. Touch-Starved Omega
4. Touch her and die
5. Overly Protective Men
6. Multi-POV, 1st POV.
7. Spice: 3/5.

You can read this book as a standalone! The beginning of the book goes over how the omegaverse works. I really like this series and will definitely read more books by Kitt Lynn.

The Silence of Lies is the fifth and final book in the Black Market Omegas series, which is set in the same world as the author’s Broken Omegas series. You do not need to read that series, or the prior books in this series, to enjoy this book. This series centers around omegas that are captured and sold to the highest bidder. The Lovely: I loved how the FMC found her pack and how they were starting from a rough and confusing place. Yikes! It was perfectly dark and angst. There’s a lot going on story-wise but it never felt like too much. The pack is so supportive and caring, even when the FMC doesn’t know what to do with that attention. And, she takes care of them too when needed.

Recommendation: When a new book from this author releases I always want to drop everything else to read it immediately. This is one of my favorite series for all those angst hurt/comfort feels. I’m sad this series is over but I’m already excited for the next series. This book is a wonderful omegaverse romance if you like something dark and engaging but filled with emotion and love.

To start, this is a poly relationship not a why choose / reverse harem. Everyone is with everyone.

I enjoyed this book overall. I read it in one sitting, and that one sitting may have been through the entire night. The world is interesting and typical of an omegaverse. With the roles, dynamics, etc. My favourite characters were the twins, Adam and Perrin. They had such a sweet dynamic together and with the Alphas; Raff and Cliff. That being said I did not like the FML, Elowen, and I could have had the whole book without her. I couldn't warm to her and I did skim her parts more than I care to admit. There also wasn't much substance to her in my opinion. The book could have literally been almost the exact same without her in it. One big thing I did love with all the characters... They are older! The youngest is the twins at twenty-six!

A lot of the story was smut. I would say a good 75% compared to plot and that might be generous. The smut that was there was good however. I also loved that it was between all of them. Different couples, dynamics, moments. Which did make it poly. There also at times were plot lines that trailed off. And the big mystery felt both obviously ended while also wrapping up way to quickly. But least it wrapped up which I am happy for.

I will say this is a good book to start with an Omegaverse. For the sole fact that Kitt Lynn explains the dynamics of omegaverse. We get breakdowns, definitions, etc at the beginning. Which is good considering sometimes it varies from author to author.

Thank you to the author Kitt Lynn for sending me an advanced reader copy of this book. All opinions are mine

I believe this is my first novel about omegaverse, so I really walked into this blind. I’m grateful the author provided a brief explanation about dynamics and terms, though I’m not sure if her other books have a similar breakdown. I wasn’t sure what I was expecting reading about alphas, betas, and omegas but I tried to keep an open mind. There really is nothing else that I can compare this to for other newbies so I’ll just rip the bandaid. This book is filthy, and I mean that as a compliment. It felt like nearly every chapter had a spicy scene. The main plot of the story is their MMMFM dynamic/ poly relationship and accepting an omega woman with trauma into their everyday life. Everything else is just background noise as it didn’t feel like it went too in-depth about the black market aspect and that’s okay. The characters just couldn’t keep their hands off each other and the author REALLY wanted you to know that. Definitely make sure you’re comfortable with some very graphic descriptions (including terms “wet/ wet folds, slick, squelching, knot(s)”). In my opinion this did not need to be close to 500 pages, I found myself getting bored with some of the mundane moments and getting over the bedroom scenes. Was it overkill? Hmm maybe if it didn’t feel like most of the action only happened in the beginning and the last few chapters

Well Elowen made quite the first impression on her pack when they first met, I mean in no way was she herself it was quite memorable. Perrin’s first meeting with Elowen was both unexpected and kind of hilarious I literally had tears in my eyes from laughing so much. Poor guy is so out of his element I loved his reactions and the blushing just made me love him even more, after that I was hooked on the book. He’s the perfect beta and I love how caring and attentive he is towards her he’s a bit obsessed but it’s adorable how shy he is. I thought Raff was going to take longer to accept her but no he’s just a big softy who loves his pack including Elowen I love how sweet he is towards her. Adam well…. my first impression of him was he was a spoiled brat and I kind of hated him. After witnessing his struggles and understanding his side of things I started feeling bad about my initial reaction to him. Then when his world exploded and he felt so lost, he connects with Elowen and a bond forms between them. So I went from hating him to loving the way these two connected and were constantly around each other. Also the book has lots of ⚔️ and hot MM action which I’m definitely a fan of. I really enjoyed this book and seeing Elowen open up to her pack, accepting them and all the love they have for for and each other. She finally has a family.🩷🩷🩷.

Elowen spent most of her life believing she was a Beta, only to have her entire world turned upside down in her late twenties when she unexpectedly presents as an Omega after tragedy. Determined to uncover the truth behind her parents' deaths, she hides behind suppressants and continues living as a Beta while investigating the secrets surrounding her past.

One of the things I loved most about Elowen was her compassion. When she joins the pack, she shows so much understanding and respect for Adam and his feelings. She consistently puts herself in others' shoes, even when she's dealing with her own fears and uncertainty.

At times, I felt the pack was so focused on Adam's struggles that they overlooked Elowen's own fears about acceptance and feeling like an outsider. She had every reason to be scared and uncertain, yet it often felt like everyone expected her to simply cope because of how kind and understanding she is.

Elowen herself is a wonderful character—strong, compassionate, and determined without losing her softness. Watching her navigate these challenges while unraveling long-buried secrets kept me invested in her journey.

Filled with twists, turns, and emotional discoveries, this story is about more than solving a mystery. It's also about the growth of a pack, learning to trust one another, and discovering how to truly love and care for each other.

The best way I can describe my feelings towards this book would probably be that I felt constant warm fuzzies while reading the entirety of the book. There was just something about this pack that was so comforting to me. The care and love they hold for each other really jumped of the page.

The romance was absolutely wonderful, and so sweet. I loved Perrin's personality and seeing the differences in how he interacts with his brother vs his alphas vs Elowen really made me fall in love with his character all the more.

I also really enjoyed reading through them figuring out how the new pack dynamics were going to work now that Elowen was in the mix. While yes, it's technically a jealousy plotline, I wasn't bothered or annoyed by it in the slightest. It felt really organic and made total sense for those involved to have to work out the complex feelings, and I think they did so in a pretty mature manner.

Lastly, I gotta mention Mama O. I loved her character so so much. I desperately wish I could get a hug from her. Seeing how close the pack is with her really helped solidify the close knit family vibe that this pack exudes. Not to mention he personality was just awesome.

This final instalment of the series really cemented the author's work as comfort reads for me, and I can't wait to see what's coming in the future!

Step 1: CHECK YOUR TRIGGER WARNINGS. I know we always say that in reviews, but there is dark stuff in this book. Check to see if you are good with all of it. Your mental health matters.

Step 2: READ IT. Kitt Lynn's writing is so immersive, it draws you in immediately and keeps you there from cover to cover.

I love how Kitt Lynn set up this omegaverse world. It is dark. It showcases the underbelly of what the world could be and is done in such a rich and vivid way.

Elowen is a tragic character, but gods is she strong. She has to hide what she is to try to live a normal life, but deals with the cards live gives her one step at a time. I think it is impossible not to like her tenacity as a person, and her kindness to those around her.

Cliff and Raff are such good alphas. They make sure their packmates know they are still loved and cherished when they have their unexpected addition to the pack. They are protective, kind, and most importantly, will do the dirty work when it needs to be done.

Perrin is such a sweetheart. He just wants to help people in need. Does he kick off the actions that affect every character in the book? Maybe. But he saw someone sick and desperate for help and stepped up. I love how shy he is for the most part, but he will stand up to people when he needs to.

Adam is baby. He needs a nice cozy blanket, a lot of therapy, and so many hugs. His reluctance to accept what is unfamiliar is something I can see in myself, but he overcomes and adapts when necessary.

Yes this is full of angst, but it is also full of love and heart, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

What an absolutely awesome read by Kitt Lynn! I was both excited and sad to read this. Excited because it was another book in this great series. Sad because it is the last. ☹️

The story started out strong and kept on throughout. Kitt Lynn has amagical way of drawing you into her stories within the first chapter, and this book did exactly that. I found this book to be a little less dark than others, but the content still is so read the tw.

I loved the characters, and seeing them flourish as the story unfolds had me hooked. Emotions run high. A great combo of plot and spice. Oh the spice! 🥵

The Packs throughout this series have been so diverse, not on being repeated. I love the pack dynamic in this this book loved the twists, and surprises. I did have a feeling of what they were, but it didn't make the reveals less surprising. It made the anxiety upwind out even more great.
You can read this as a standalone, but don't! To get the whole experience, start at the beginning with The Comfort of Pain. The first book in this 5 books series.

💜 I frikkin' loved everything about The Black Market Omega series, and The Silence of Lies was such a heart-warming and wonderful ending to the series. Another stellar read that I could not get enough of. Kitt Lynn truly is an awesome author who weaves Omegaverse magic with her imagination and words.

The ending of a great series, where we have seen all kinds of pasts, packs, omegas, alphas, circumstances, and this story is no different. The Durrant pack is a completely happy pack who are not looking for anything or anyone else consisting of alpha’s Cliff and Raff and two beta’s Perrin and Adam who are twins. Elowyn is a pharmacy tech who is strong, smart, and utterly alone while dealing with a late-in-life designation change that she is trying desperately to suppress. Everything changes when a one chance in a million encounter at “The Morder” has Elowyn going into a full-on omega heat which triggers Cliffs Alpha biology to the point of mating her on the spot. The pack dynamic afterward was strange for me; I found that Adam was too needy and self-absorbed. I don’t think he would have ever accepted Elowyn into the pack if he had not dealt with issues himself. Cliff didn’t stand up as pack leader; he and Raff were always making sure Adam was okay before Elowyn. I also found it odd that Raff did not mark Elowyn. There just seemed to be a disconnect for me. That said, I did like the ending, and I did love the series and would recommend it. "This is my honest review of an advanced reader copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily."

Omegaverse usually has strong found family elements and Silence of Lies did not disappoint. It was my favorite part of this story. From the moment the Durrant pack and Elowen's lives intertwine, the constant was the steadfast way they showed up for each other. Even when their situation gets complicated, and trust me, it gets complicated. Elowen is an Omega but hiding as a Beta in an Omega black market. She starts her heat in the middle of the market surrounded by Alphas. Her introduction to the bonded Durrant pack happens on this very day. The story follows the pack as they navigate pack dynamics and Elowen's past. These are stable, emotionally mature people dealing with a crazy situation and they process those emotions on page. I cried while reading a chapter dealing with jealousy and the difficult feelings that came up in their pack (can I be part of their pack🥹😅) . The care and love they have for each other warmed my heart through the pages. This is omegaverse, so there are definitely heats and knotting which were all hot. This is definitely a horny pack, and I am here for it! There was plenty of spice to satisfy. There are dark elements to this story, so check the trigger warnings.
If you want a dark omegaverse with emotional maturity, a pack that actually communicates, and plenty of heat, this is for you.

Book: The Silence of Lies
Author: Kurt Lynn
Pages: 488
Series: Yes [Black Market Omega] book 5
Rating: 5/5
Spice: 5/5

Elowen has been hiding as a Beta for 3 years after her parents were killed and she has been trying to find out who done it ever since. One night she goes into heat at the market and basically jumps Cliff and becomes claimed to their pack.

Adam - Beta (twin to Perrin) more sensitive
Raff - Alpha
Perrin - Beta (twin to Adam) mother hen once their Omega comes home
Cliff - Top alpha

“I'm a late-transitioned omega who's been hiding her designation. I work at a black market pharmacy. I went into heat yesterday and sexually assaulted your son-in-law's entire pack. Oh, and your son carried me over his shoulder through a field of feral alphas while people shot at us.” … pretty much what happen 😂

"You belong to us." I hold her gaze. "And that means you get to do whatever the hell you want to feel safe. Take up space, baby. Rearrange every blanket in this house. Sleep sideways across the whole bed if that's what your body needs." I reach out and cup her cheek in my palm, my thumb tracing the line of her cheekbone. "Nobody is going to tell you that you're too much.”

high steam, twisty and intense

This another enjoyable read by Kitt Lynn. This book grabs you from the first page and hauls you into an intense story. The characters feel real, even when driven by their instincts. The MM relationships are well established and fairly comfortable with little drama/jealousy. There is a lot of intimacy - like most of the story - interspersed with the mystery and some side issues.

Elle is intelligent, which I love in an FMC. While a victim of her circumstances, she still handles what she can to the best of her ability. The four MCs are great, both honorable and strong. They support each other. Side characters were fairly lightly described although I loved Mama O and her interactions.

The story itself was faintly formulaic. There was the hidden omega trope that’s been done a lot in other A/B/O stories. I picked up on a couple of the plot hooks early. The culmination of the mystery felt a bit rushed. Overall though, the story kept my attention to the end.

If you’re looking for an energetic, intimate and intriguing read, you can’t go wrong with The Silence of Lies.

The Silence of Lies was the first book by Kitt Lynn that I have ever read and what an introduction it was! If you are looking for a book with an omega hiding her dynamic, a pack featuring both alphas and betas, heats, nesting, knotting, and finding your pack in a world that sees omegas as commodities to be bartered over, then this book is for you. I loved Elowen and the way she put others before herself. She was so understanding of the pack’s dynamics when she was introduced to the pack and her actions made her an even more likable character. It would be hard to choose which alpha is the best between Raff and Cliff. I loved the fact that they did not make any of their mates feel less than any of the others. They are what you want to see when you read about alphas. I had suspicions about Adam and I was delighted to discover that I was right. Perrin was probably my favorite character. He was incredibly sweet and protective of his family. I loved how he was more hesitant with intimate situations. It made him so enduring. This pack’s story was a delight to read. I will definitely be looking to see what other books this author has.

WOW.... I loved everything about this book but my favorite was the autoimmune representation. As someone who has two autoimmune diseases (not the one mentioned in the book) I felt understood and related to Adam throughout the whole book!

Elowen's perspective is immediately captivating with her need to survive & navigate a world that hunts those who are omegas. She has to maintain a facade while she works, all while driven by a desperate need to uncover the truth about her parents. This helped create a narrative where every decision feels weighted and deeply personal.

The dynamics within the pack are magnetic, messy and full of tension. The narrative effectively transforms Elowen's yearning into something that feels like both a threat and a necessity. It explores the complexity of wanting to be claimed after a lifetime spent being hunted.

Ultimately, The Silence of Lies is an atmospheric omegaverse story with high stakes and a resilient heroine. For readers who enjoy a fast paced story with suspense, earned chemistry, and strong character motivations, this book is highly recommended.

Silence of Lies is book five in the series and without question my favotie. If you are on the fence, here is everything you need to know.

**Tropes:**
- Omegaverse why choose
- Hidden omega
- Late transition
- Found family
- Pack dynamics
- Fated mates
- Grumpy sunshine
- Medium burn
- Murder mystery
- Forced proximity
- Male omega
- Touch her and ***

**Spice level: 3 out of 5**
This book is explicit. The intimate scenes are frequent, creative, and specific to the characters involved. If you are new to why choose or omegaverse dynamics, this is a solid entry point because the author takes time to build the emotional foundation before things get heated. If you are a veteran of the genre, you will not be disappointed.

**Content warnings:** Explicit sexual content, past parental death, on page violence, brief drug use, and one scene involving an unconscious omega that is handled with care and context.

**Bottom line:** A mystery, a pack, two omegas finding each other, and enough steam to fog your glasses. Clear your schedule before you start it.
