The next world war won’t start by mistake—it’s already on the calendar.
When CIA asset Laila Malik vanishes mid-operation, David Shaw and his Invictus team launch a desperate hunt to find her. But the search for the assassin-turned-spy exposes a dark truth built on power, profit, and blood.
A covert alliance of global elites is engineering war for gain. Ukraine is their latest payday. And Laila Malik is trapped at the center.
As these hidden players manipulate governments, defense giants, and intelligence networks, they push nations toward open conflict—fueling chaos to build their empires and cash in on the carnage.
But as Shaw closes in, every advantage turns against him. Compromised, cut off, and caught in the crossfire, he must rescue Malik and tear through the conspiracy before the architects of war ignite the fuse that will set the world on fire.

I received an ARC through "Severn River" and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
The story begins with a meeting between Stovall and Sofia as they agree to join forces to control the opening that the deaths of Rykov and Barakat left. Sofia believes that she is controlling Invictus by feeding them information. Stovall believes that Russia will invade Ukraine soon and once Nato becomes involved he will be making money hand over fist.
The story then turns to Syria where Shaw has information that the terrorist el-Shahan is located and he has a captured American. Shaw's mission is to free the American and bring el-Shahan to justice. Things get dicey in the mission as el-Shahan has gotten to a tunnel where Shaw's team and El-Shahn's men get into a firefight. Shaw is able to get the American free and has overcome the initial terrorist's force when another group is coming from the other end of the tunnel to reinforce el-Shahan. Things are touch and go, but they were able to escape once they received air support.
After returning back to the headquarters, the asset that they received the info on el-Shahan is captured and their next mission is to rescue her. As they were making their way to Ukraine when Laila, the asset, is located, war breaks out between Russia and Ukraine. The plane they are traveling in shot down and they soon have to defend themselves.
Read about the events that the group gets involved in when in Ukraine, how Laila plays a role, and how it all plays out in the end, then you need to read this book. The action is immense and the ending answers all questions. This book is definitely worth the read, don't miss out!
