The nice thing about Fundamentals of Azure: Microsoft Azure Essential by Michael Collier and Robin Shahan is that it assumes no prior knowledge of Azure or cloud computing. Each chapter describes the technology and walks the user through how to implement that technology using Microsoft Azure.
The step-by-step instructions are very explicit, even including screenshots of each step. Collier and Shahan take you through the process of the most common Azure tasks, including creating Web Apps; setting up Virtual Machines and Virtual Networks;
Of course, the Azure team is adding new features very quickly; so occasionally, you will run into instructions that do not exactly match the portal. But Collier and Shahan do a good job of explaining the concepts, so the user can often find their way through any inconsistencies.
If you are new to Azure and want an overview of the platform or if you want help with specific features, Fundamentals of Azure will help.

This is a straightforward look at Microsoft Azure. What's not in here are any real world suggestions or recommendations, just a description of the various Azure pieces with lots of screen shots.

Good content, covers everything truly the essentials one need to know. Really liked the first 4 sections!
I'm giving 4 stars because the book is poorly formatted, with some glazed pictures at some sections, lots of empty space and the texts for "tip" and "attention" are over the image, hence, hard to read.

Very well written and organized. Covered a great deal with excellent examples and walk-throughs. I wish the Microsoft Exam books were more like this!

This is a free ebook, downloadable from https://aka.ms/FundAzure2e/. It's actually quite a good overview of Azure. I got a lot out of it. And it's reasonably well-written. It's somewhat out of date, but not enough to be a problem.
If you want to learn the basics of Azure, I would recommend getting yourself a trial account and spending some time working through the examples in this book and exploring whatever is interesting or relevant to you. Once you're through, then you can zero in on specific stuff that you want to learn more about and seek out more specific books or videos.

Nice overview on the concepts. Skimming through a lot of screenshots will make you go faster. The book does not require deep knowledge of cloud. But you will get high level concepts and definitions.

Good intro to Azure features and capabilities. Not all screenshots match current Azure implementation as the cloud continues to rapidly evolve and change. Next step to embrace this technology is to start digging deeper into several topics.

Many formating problems in the Kindle version. Bad transcribing from some other target format made the images (where the background appears to be fully covering the core image). Reasonable to skim. Unsure if the content warrants the cost.

There's a newer version. Not many books on azure.

It gets you started in azure. Not exactly the book to take de AZ-900 certification but it's the closest I found from a free book. Needs to be updated
