Great in the start, but falls apart towards the end
This is such a fun story!
It's let down by a number of little inconsistencies as well as two very big ones that wreck the plot a fair bit -- chapter 13 in particular makes no sense whatsoever. Up until about halfway through chapter 13 this was a five-star book, but from then on it was like a completely different story with completely different characters. What a shame.
The grammar is excellent -- I only found a handful of actual errors in the whole book, which is almost unheard of for KU -- and most of the dialogue is believable. There are some repeated phrases in some sections, particularly the intimate scenes, which could do with some revision, but it's not too bad. It's just such a shame about the massive inconsistencies and the weird, unexplained character personality changes from chapter 13 onwards in particular.
(Everything about this novel's writing style reminds me of Leo Thornvale. At this point I'm assuming this is the same author using a different name.)
