No me importa. Demasiado tarde. Ya me he apoderado de su trono.
¿Y Cole?

Idk how I got here, but here I am. This wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t great. The title itself was a novella, which is crazy. I do feel like this is very much like any other mate rejection that I’ve read. Granted, it’s not been many. But it did feel familiar.
Ok. This was an amazing book that I definitely couldn’t put down. Intriguing, unique plot and very interesting characters I couldn’t get enough of. However, this is also a book whose plot is difficult to address to without giving away too much and spoil the story for those who haven’t read it yet. So, I won’t say anything regarding that front apart from the fact that it was not what one expected, that it’s a love triangle (sort of), there is definitely a HEA (no need to worry about this aspect) and that the FMC is one of the strongest FMCs I have read in the entire series so far. I loved everything about Mika, from her stubborn, resilient and caring nature to her amazing qualities as a true leader, despite being a human amongst werewolves. Every inch of respect and admiration, she earns fair and square. I am not going to talk at all about the MMCs – yes, plural (again, sort of). You need to read it in order to understand what I am saying, as the story is unique and completely out of the norm. There is of course a lot of action, feelings, difficulties and despicable villains you will love to hate. So, buckle up and enjoy the ride! 5 stars!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
The title of this book is so long and unfortunate. I have zero doubts that many people pass this one up because of the dumb title which is a shame because it's a well written book with a good plot. Unlike a lot of other rejected mate romances, the rejection didn't happen right out of the gate. Instead it takes place almost half way through so by the time it happens there's more of a punch from it.
Then ending wrapped up quickly and I'm still not sure how I feel about how it ended. Regardless, it's a quick, good, drama filled book with an HEA for the FMC.
18+, XXX. Adult content, reader discretion advised. Mika was content working at the bookstore, making coffee and living in the apartment above the bookstore. Then Simon Vale walked in, threw out an unruly customer and with one touch claimed Mika as his fated mate. A year of marriage and Simon cheated with his ex. Mika was rejected and broken. She didn’t stay broken. With the help of friends, Cole and Thomas she rebuilt herself. Then Simon came back groveling for her help. Because he was destroying the pack and she was their salvation.
Found this series thru a FB ad and am glad I could read it thru my KU plan. I’m loving this trope of rejected mates and second chances with secret babies. I admit I had my doubts about the premise of potential other man/woman drama but as I got a couple chapters in and realized this book (#6) was directly related to the previous one (#5) I knew I was gonna love reading about Cole & Mika. Highly recommend!
I love when the FMC doesn’t get back with the cheater. Cole was waiting in the wings and once Simon screwed up he was there. I loved that Mika was strong and didn’t become a doormat when Simon tried to gaslight her into believing him cheating was her fault.
Now did this book need to be as long as it was? Not at all but I didn’t hate it so I would call that a win.
In this book we get a great story about how to think outside the box, how to pull up your boots by the straps. You better self, by making new friends and keeping the old. You get a better self when you learn to take care, defend yourself and others. How you can use weapons to defend when you are dealing with other species.
1. Is the Lycan king in the room with us? no....there was no Lycan king...no king at all.... 2. For a werewolf book, there was the least amount of actual shifting in this book I've ever read. And those who were "old" and I mean like in their 50s...suddenly they were weak and didn't shift???
This is a good revenge/human-shifter/ pregnancy trope romance book with found family, mates, and political drama. The story is good and it has a good cast of characters for an ongoing series.
I skipped read this. Choppy and no build up to much of anything. Annddd the mmc cheats on her ( his mate/his Luna/ his queen) . Nah dawg, like she walks in on them- hell to the no.
TikTok made me do it, but I have to admit I was surprised by the writing. I expected the standard ‘16181 book series written by AI’ vibe, but the writing g was actually alright.
The whole thing was bizarre, but that’s the point I suppose.
This book infuriated me, but I still enjoyed the story. I thought the story was going to be more about Mika leaving her fated mate because he cheated on her with his ex-girlfriend. But she doesn't leave until halfway thru the book. Simon kept things from her that he should have been able to tell his Luna so she could help him. He also didn't tell her to be herself when she became the Luna. I felt if they would have had a good conversation about everything he wouldn't have cheated. Mika should have talked to him about her duties being just as tiring as his so he could understand that she was just as drained as him. Mika should have told him she didn't feel like she could be herself around the pack because of the council.
I liked the fact that everyone was behind her except the people who were scheming to take over the throne. Mika had great friends who helped her when she needed them the most. The love story between Cole and Mika should have been the star of the book and it was for a third of the book. I loved that we got to see how much Cole really cared for Mika and was there for her, but their story was so short. I wanted it to be more.
Spoiler! I thought the ending was a little weird that Simon steps down, but Mika stays as Luna and now Cole is her consort. Would have liked to see what they done to make their pack stronger.
