Sealed in Blood

Love Was Never Safe in Iran…

Ghazal never chose this life. A gifted computer science student, she is trapped under her father’s iron control where even makeup earns punishment and obedience is expected. Sepideh, a bold social media influencer, refuses to bow to anyone. She lives loud, fearless, and free until her heart collides with Ghazal’s quiet defiance.

What begins as friendship ignites into forbidden love. But in a country where morality police prowl the streets and women are silenced with bullets, their bond becomes both a sanctuary and a death sentence.

Every heartbeat is rebellion.
Every choice carries risk.
Every kiss could be their last.

Sometimes, surviving together is the greatest act of strength.

From stolen moments of beauty to streets filled with protest, Sealed in Blood is a sweeping sapphic romance and political thriller that explores forbidden love, women’s rights, and resilience in modern-day Iran.

What makes Sealed in Blood so exceptional is how much justice it does to the actual daily struggles of Iranian women. While the rest of the world so often tends to look away or ignore the reality of what is happening there, the author does an amazing job portraying exactly what being a woman in Iran feels like. Through the eyes of Ghazal and Sepideh, you feel the crushing weight of control, the constant shadow of the morality police, and the terrifying risks women take just to exist on their own terms.

The stakes feel incredibly real and heavy on every single page. It's a brilliant and emotional look at resilience, women's rights, and the lengths people will go to protect the freedom to love.

If you want a romance with real depth, intensity, pacing, and a story that sheds a much-needed light on a fight the world needs to pay attention to, I can't recommend this book enough. Outstanding work.

This book is incredible.

So raw, so emotional, so heartfelt.
I could not put it down.
As in I actually had other things I wanted to do and they did not get done.

I was hyped for this book the moment it was announced. It lived up to it and then some.

There’s a kind of lightning in a bottle feeling with this book.

It captures something so poignant and sweeping, yet frames everything with heartfelt intimacy and doesn’t lose sight of its heart. The emotional battery I went through with this book…

Absolutely stellar. This could be Book of the Year.

This is an ambitious novel that engages with the experiences of young women during Iran’s protest movement. It is written from an intimate first-person perspective by a man who drew on experiences of women.

The novel brings together personal relationships, political unrest, and questions of identity in a dangerous environment.

Open s a window into a world I never knew.
