The Orc Hockey League is a cozy-spicy monster romance series where fierce orc athletes rule the ice, rivalries run hot, and love hits harder than a body check. Each book can be read as a standalone and ends with a happily ever after.
AVA ROSS fell for men with unusual features when she first watched Star Wars, where alien creatures have gone mainstream. She lives in New England with her husband (who is sadly not an alien, though he is still cute in his own way), her kids, and assorted pets, including a yorkie pup and three cats.
Sweet Pucking Orc is part of the Orc Hockey League shared world. Expect yearning, a lonely orc hero, forbidden romance, mistaken identity, size difference, a cozy monster setting, guardian/protector, workplace romance, the whole team ships them, fated mates, and he falls first tropes.
I have read quite a few of ava ross books and absolutely loved them. So im very excited about this one.
She didnt want to be known as the coach's daughter cause everyone always treats her different once they know so she never told Tolrek til her father made it known I felt so bad for him and her she enjoyed the conversation with him.
She was one of the video analysts, and she was great at it. She wanted to be known for that and not as the coach's daughter, which is understandable . Her father always reminded her that hockey players were off-limits just as she was off-limits to the players.
Beau the Yorkie dog Tolrek has is so adorable and was loving Haley attention. He used to belong to his brother, who died sadly 😥. [ “You learn to carry it differently over time. It doesn’t get lighter. It's just differently shaped. Dad was coaching already, though only college back then. I followed him if he changed teams, from city to city, because he was all I had left.” ]
The way they didn't realize how they pulled towards eachother the nervousness when around one another was so cute . Especially when he is able to talk about his brother with her cause he doesn't really talk about renkar to anyone, which shows how special she is.
That first kiss was wow!!!!
Chapter 11 was 🥵🌶🔥
There was bump in the road for them since her father found out by someone else which caused so many emotions for her but i believe it was needed to happen so she could tell him how she really felt and she was finally choosing something to for her and only her. I loved the ending they are so cute 😍
This time around, we have the coach's daughter and a defenseman trying to find his groove again. Given that Haley's father has a pretty hard rule about dating hockey players, their romance is complicated by more than just two people trying to figure things out before taking the next step.
That said, the figuring out is already complex. Tolrek is dealing with an injury that sidelined him for part of the previous season, the loss of someone close to him, and a trade. Any one of those alone were big changes, but all three together have him spinning. As the video analyst for the team, Haley sees his struggles on the ice. She might not know all of what's causing him to falter, but she sees places he can adjust and she takes the time to help him realign and get back into the place that makes him such a stellar player.
She also sees him as a person. As someone who supports those around him and takes care of the things that need taking care of. The more time they spend together, the more she likes what she sees. Soon the two are heading down a path that involves sharing meals and plenty of nekkid one-on-one time. GOOD STUFF!
💚 “I’ll choose you every time. No matter what it costs.” ~~~ Haley is so lovely! She’s so nice, kind and understanding. Even more, she puts so much effort in her work, always seeing things most people miss. Haley is a wonderful woman and I loved her so, so much!
Tolrek is one of the new additions to the Purple Punishers hockey team. He’s a male of a few words, but his presence speaks volumes. Even more, Tolrek is kind, thoughtful and caring. The huge and incredible defenseman is one absolutely irresistible male and I couldn’t help but adore every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Haley and Tolrek! Their chemistry was wonderful from the very beginning and the attraction was strong from the start. And I absolutely loved every moment they spent together. Even more, I loved how Haley and Tolrek saw one another for who they truly were and understood each other even without words. Yes, their relationship was forbidden (hockey player / coach’s daughter), but fate cannot be denied and always finds a way. Tolrek and Haley were so perfect for each other and absolutely deserved to find happiness and love together!
In addition, I must also mention Beau (the four pounds of Yorkie ferocity and cuteness) and Brashe (the friend everyone needs in their life) - I loved those two so, so much!
Overall, Sweet Pucking Orc is a cozy, sweet and heartwarming story and I loved every page of it!
The blurb sets the scene, but meeting the MC for the first time sparks a different sensation. My initial impression was that the MMC was unlike any other 'Other' I've encountered—silent, yet his presence spoke volumes without the need for grand gestures. The FMC seemed invincible, a soul who feels out of place yet fully present in the moment. There was an unspoken connection between them—something that made them truly see each other. It was like a love that simply exists, waiting to be uncovered, like a flower on the verge of blooming. But beneath it all lies that tiny detail capable of halting everything. Still, just like that first impression, it feels as though their love was destined, and together, they’ll find their way through every obstacle.
This was another fab addition to this multi-author series and I loved seeing Tolrek and Haley come together. This is a forbidden romance and while she's the coach's daughter, she's also the team's video analyst. Tolrek is new to the team, a bit out of shape and feeling like he was just discarded by his old team. With her help, he finds the path to his old self on the ice. Love blooms between them because they both see each other, treat each other as people of value. I love that they got their HEA and enjoyed the reading ride filled with a sweet romance, humour, true love and all the heat a happy ending deserves ;D
Haley and Tolrek Here we are again in the Hockey book! I confesso I didn't read One if there on some time but this One reminded me why I used to love them! Haley is the person who watchs tape and sees all the moves, the mistakes, the opennings, everyting and Tolrek is the new addition to the team and he is out of shape. His last team traded him like it was Nothing and now he wants to prove them wrong. Haley helps him see who he used to BE and what he was doing wrong and feelings start to grow between them. Its so beautiful to see. They evolve so much. Amazing story.
This paragraph really hit me. Haley describes her angst thru stress baking in the middle of the night, "a canister of cookies sitting on my counter, meant for someone I'd almost gone to but couldn't quite reach." The rule is firm, no fraternization between players and staff. As the coaches daughter, this especially affects her. The secret looks that are noticed, the worry of being caught, the angst- all ride them hard. A wonderful story that will keep you reading deep into the night.
Sweet Pucking Orc by Ava Ross is a sweet hockey romance set in the multi author Orc Hockey League series. While this is a forbidden romance (player/coach’s daughter), it truly is about so much more. It’s about connection, about seeing below the surface, and ultimately about real, honest love. A beautiful story set amongst a hockey background.
Sweet Pucking Orc by Ava Ross is the third in this multi author series about orcs who play hockey and the human women they fall for. She's the daughter of the coach who has forbidden her to date the players. He's the new recruit to the team. Both enjoy raspberry pastries and each other. Great small town romance.
Wow, new author to me and loved this story. Two invisible people fall in love. A hockey player and a video analyst, the coaches daughter. Looking foward to reading more Orc hockey player stories
2.75 stars for me. This wasn't bad, it just wasn't as focused on the romance as I prefer. More angsty, and "Whatever will my Father/Coach think?" monologuing than romcom like advertised. There was cute moments, I just didn't vibe with it.
A cute hockey romance with an orc hockey player and a human staff member of the team who just happens to be the coaches daughter aka off limits. Great characters, sweet storyline.
