“Mountains do not move and the dragons do not yield.”
Thea is a warrior badass. I loved everything about her. She was fun, smart, a fighter, and full of inner strength.
Blackheart is a giant beast of a man who leads his army with strength and stability.
This love story was sweet and one that couldn’t be stopped by secrets. I fell in love with it and honestly want one like it for myself.
I loved the side characters — Dessa, Mia, and Tristan were the best. They really grew on you, and Thea needed more of that kind of support in her life.
The dynamic between the sisters was so good...light and dark, good and evil. It showed how people born into the same life can turn out completely differently.
Soren and Isolde had me jumping up screaming when they entered the story. I have a new favorite trope!
The story stayed engaging the entire time. I love this author and can’t wait to read more of her books.

February 10, 2026*ARC reader*. Another 5 star book from KD Miller. If you love romantasy but get tired of long drawn out series she is the author for you. The ability to create a full world with a HEA in a standalone is incredible.
A long journey, forced proximity, found family, hidden identity. There are a lot of tropes in this book but they all flow together nicely. Thea is a FMC you want. She doesn’t shy away from a fight and will do anything to save the people she cares for. Killian is the perfect MMC. Able to allow the FMC to shine without holding her back. Add in a host of lovable side characters and you have a boom I would read again.
10/10 would read again and again

Wow what a heck of a ride this story takes you on. I stayed up entirely too late reading this book for sure. It's defintelky worth the read.
