If you ever wondered when to use e.g. vs ie, if or whether or how to use also and also, or what's a double genitive, and why everyone likes publicity but not notriety, though I agree with PT Barnum that there is no such thing as "bad publicity", Harry tells you. So you wil know i.e. is id est or "that is" while e.g. is example. Meticulously written, but not scrupluous.

i.e, the past tense of 'prove' is 'proved'; the past participle is 'proved' or 'proven'.
