When her father proposes marriage for Gwen and her sisters in hopes of building an alliance with the Plaid Kingdom, hearts shatter when Gwen overhears Prince Frederick call her “ugly.” Ashamed and overwhelmed, she runs away into the forest, where she discovers the twisted and enchanted world of the Cursed Princess Club—and her life will never be the same.
Struggling with her worsening mirror reflection, Gwen’s internal battle of self-doubt and insecurity only seems to grow. And with her growing feelings for Frederick, Gwen navigates her own vulnerability in ways she’s never quite experienced.
Meanwhile, after eating a cookie at an Argyle Kingdom festival that causes Jamie to taste the emotions of festival attendees, the prince learns a shocking someone wants to crush the Pastel Princesses. Worried that sharing the news would embolden the king to forbid his sisters from ever leaving the castle, Jamie puts on his detective hat and tries to find the culprit himself.
Later, the announcement of the quinquennial Bippity Bop Gala’s return has everyone excited—except for Prez, whose former kingdom is honored with hosting the decadent event. Hoping to win the cursed-curing crystal raffle and lift their curses, Gwen and the Cursed Princess Club plan on attending the event as uninvited guests. As they plan for the formal evening, the dress code helps the Cursed Princess Club hide in plain sight—dressed up like curses

Love the gradient pastels, the old timey dresses fit for á drafty castle sleeping gown. Textures and paneling design have really been stepped up. Lol, the walking into á couch and return of the Princels.
It is annoying how expensive these books remain despite getting way shorter as they go on. This only goes to ch 120 of 173. So like á dozen chs when other books cover 20-30.
Guess every princess/prince/king gets even screen time this volume. Diary entries drawn cute on brown paper with color pops. Backstory okay, love to see more royal pastel costumes. Maybe too little conflict or connection between the parents. Slower issue of resolving small emotional things. Just think Maria and Gwen shouldn’t be dressed in such á similar color for the end gala.
