Vision of Love
Tariq Cross has it all—fame, fortune, and a fiancée on his arm. As the league’s golden-boy quarterback, he dominates on the field and basks in the spotlight off it, his arrogance as legendary as his talent. But when a routine play leaves him with a devastating, career-ending injury, Tariq’s world unravels. His teammates pull away, the fans move on, and even Talia, the woman he thought would stand by him, begins to slip out of reach. Enter Erika Hall, a makeup artist and student specializing in coping management for sports injuries while also in school for ophthalmology.
Erika is nothing like the people Tariq is used to—she doesn’t fawn over him, doesn’t care about his fame, and refuses to indulge his ego. Where others see a fallen star, she sees a man at a crossroads, fighting battles he can’t win with bravado alone. As Tariq leans on Erika in his darkest moments, an unlikely bond forms between them—one built not on image or applause, but on honesty, resilience, and undeniable chemistry. For the first time, Tariq discovers what it means to be seen for who he is, not what he can do. But to hold onto Erika, he’ll have to face the hardest opponent of himself.

This could have been better if it wasn’t so clearly edited (possibly even written) with ChatGPT… the em dashes every other sentence being the most telling. But also the flow of some of the inner dialogue. I don’t think people realize, ChatGPT has its own personality and voice now so it’s pretty easy to identify when you use it.
The story was quite hasty and inconsistent. I’m not against fast paced romance at all but this was legitimately so quick I couldn’t tell what the timeline was. The romance development was a bit lacking. When did she even start liking him fr? What did he really like about her— besides what she did for him?
I don’t feel like we got great character development or details either. Erika has this whole story, and life, that seemed to disappear when they decided to be together. There were some inconsistencies to her personality. She went from confident, unbothered, sure of herself and out the mix to very pop off-ish.
Tariq needed actual healing, not to just move on. He was SUPERRRR arrogant and somehow being with Erika changed that almost instantly? We never learned what made him that way or how he grew from that. Who was he outside of football? This was a conflict within himself that HE brought up in the story but was never actually seen through or explored.
Again, bc this was not written with full integrity it seems, there were so many inconsistencies. It’s almost like the author forgot things that were written from previous chapters… all that to say, if the author took the time to actually develop the story and characters, it wouldn’t be a bad storyline.

He Found His Forever!!
When Tariq was with Talia he, arrogant, cocky, a trash talker. In his world it's was either go big or home. Tariq wasn't a team player it was all about him. Everybody knew that she was no good for him.Talia had nothing going for herself, she had no ambition no goals. That's why she was so jealous of Erika. Erika know how to hustle and don't get depend on any man. When Tariq got hurt everyone around him left because he wasn't the life of the party and they thought his money was gone. Talia showed her true colors and how she felt about him. Erika thought he was sexy but he was arrogant, cocky, an ego driven. What he experienced was very humbling. They started off as friends, she stopped him from doing something stupid and embarrassing himself. Erika made him realize he was more than football and she was accepted by his mama. Their chemistry was hot, he was actually a gentleman getting know her first. They created their own family.

That’s How You Write A Book!!!
It’s the lil cute cover that fools you but baby, this book was it!! Riq and Erika’s story was just too good.
Riq’s character growth was so beautiful to watch. Even from the beginning you knew there was something special about him. Erika was that woman! She knew who she was and didn’t need anyone’s permission to be herself.
Tisa was the absolute worst. That hospital scene was just mean…she realized what she lost though.
Overall great book. This was my first book by the author but definitely not the last.

A must read sports romance.
This book was one of the best sports romances I have read ever. I was reluctant initially because of the cover but I’m so glad I push through my biases and indulged in it. The characters were so good. I absolutely loved the dialogue.
