I received this from the author to give out a honest review … ARC from author….
I can’t waiving part 2 of the next episode with Damon and Jazz I am cutious to see how long it will take for Damon to give in to Jazz because Jazz is trying a lot of things and I think that Damon needs to talk to Blake about how he’s feeling about stuff because to me he can relate because both was straight at a point of time..
Yass to me Damon is not so straight to me. I’m surprised that Blake didn’t come to conclusion that it could be a guy that gave Damon those panties in the sneak peak of part 2. Back to part one I don’t have much to say I had said everything I needed to say and will give this book a 5 star ⭐️ rating. I haven’t gotten a new book from Isla Olsen in so long that I’m happy to see her writing a new book!!!!.

Here's "Talk" by Isla Olsen. It's the first episode/installment in her new Whiskey Foxtrot Tango serial (this ends in a HFN as this couple's story continues in the next episode).
["Damon
Two years ago when I turned 40 my life seemed pretty much perfect: I was married to my high school sweetheart, raising two beautiful kids, and running a successful personal training business that kept me fulfilled.
Now my ex-wife runs my old business, my kids are off at college, and I’m clean across the country crashing in my brother’s mansion and dusting off the bartending skills I honed back in my own school days.
But it turns out that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to big life changes…
I’m straight and always have been. But apparently that fact doesn’t seem to matter whenever a certain guitar-playing, trust fund-having bar owner is around.
Jasper—Jazz—Grimsay is brash, arrogant as hell, and has a way of getting under my skin like no one I’ve ever met before. The as*hole gets off on making me squirm; and for some reason I can’t possibly fathom…I’m starting to as well.
My d!ck has suddenly decided mortification is better than porn, and Jazz is more than happy to dish plenty of it up.
I mean… What. The. F*ck?
I should be booking myself in for a lobotomy, or at the very least quitting my job and getting as far away from Jazz as possible. But the more he taunts and mocks and shames me, the more addicted I get.
But it’s only the words I want. Not him. I’m not into guys, and even if I were I’d sure as hell pick someone better than a crude, cocky, twenty-one-year-old as*hole who revels in messing with my head and pushing me so far beyond my comfort zone I’ll never find a way back to it.
I went into this not entirely sure what to expect, and it completely caught me off guard in the best possible way. Damon is such a relatable lead – a man whose life has quietly unravelled without him really noticing until he’s forced to start again. There’s something very grounded and human about watching him rebuild, especially through bartending, which gives him purpose just when he needs it. His internal conflict feels raw and believable, and I found myself rooting for him even while he’s clearly spiralling in directions he never planned to go.
Then there’s Jasper. Infuriating, magnetic, unapologetic, and absolutely aware of the effect he has. He pushes every boundary with a smirk and a sharp tongue, and the dynamic between him and Damon crackles with tension from the moment they’re in the same room. What I loved most was the role reversal and the way power is explored through dialogue rather than action – it’s provocative, funny, and deeply uncomfortable in a way that feels entirely intentional. The writing is sharp, the chemistry is intense, and the spice sneaks up on you before hitting full force. I devoured this in one sitting and was genuinely annoyed when it ended just as things were really taking shape. A bold, addictive start to the series that left me desperate for the next instalment. Omg I’m speechless Oh my goodness I don’t even know where to begin who I start with? jazz he is awful in the best way. Is arrogant he’s straight to the point. He can be brutal in some conversations he had with his sister’s boyfriend. I just didn’t know where to advert my eyes to. Oh my gosh. He is brutal but in the honest way and I’ve got to say I just love him. Saying that my heart goes out to Damon. Because he is really against it. He’s a divorced man with two children in college, he basically lost everything and is now living with his brother and his husband. Damon working at a bar. He worked when he was going through college bartending so he’s fallen back into that. He really enjoys it. He likes his boss they worked well together but that is until the actual boss boss comes back from LA and that would be Jasper Grimsay. And he is a shock to the system. But he stands his grounds and tells jazz that he is actually straight so not interested. But that doesn’t stop jazz from driving him crazy. I couldn’t read this book fast enough and I was gutted when I got to the end with a little cliffhanger. I can’t wait until the next Book is out in March. I did read the Little Peak and oh my goodness jazz just doesn’t know when to stop. Couldn’t stop smiling A brilliant read.

I just inhaled Talk: WTF Episode 1 and, honestly, "What The F*ck" is the only appropriate reaction! I went in expecting a standard mid-life crisis story, but instead, I got Damon a forty-year-old former Boy Scout who is basically having his entire reality dismantled by a twenty-one-year-old brat with a guitar and a trust fund. The chemistry between Damon and Jazz is absolutely electric; it’s that perfect, cringey, I hate how much I like this energy that kept me glued to the pages. Watching a straight-laced personal trainer realize his libido is suddenly taking orders from a cocky bartender half his age was equal parts hilarious and scorching hot. It’s spicy, it’s messy, and even though I know it’s a serial with a soft cliffhanger, I’m already pacing the floor waiting for the next installment. If you like your age-gaps with a side of total identity crisis and a younger Dom who knows exactly which buttons to push, you need to dive into the Kellyverse immediately!.

I’m a long time fan of this author and I was thrilled to see she had a new book out. I previously read an intro that was the foundation for this story and was excited to see how it had evolved into a full length novel. This book had a kink dynamic that I hadn’t really read before: playing with shame/humiliation. Not my ‘thing’ per se, but the author did a great job with the chemistry between the mc’s, and how they explore it. Very steamy. The older, inexperienced mc is completely baffled by his reaction to the younger mc, who is very much in charge of the dynamic. I especially enjoyed the text exchanges 😈. If you’ve read other series by this author, you’ll recognize some of the tertiary characters but it’s definitely a standalone. Cliffhanger ending, if I wasn’t so eager to read this new release, I’d have waited until all the books in this series were out before I started it. Lighthearted, fun, quick read; very amusing
This is a sharp, funny, and heartfelt start to a new series featuring Damon and Jasper (Jazz). There is witty dialogue, instant chemistry, and characters that pull you in from the very first scene. It delivers humor and Jazz’s no BS personality along with Damon’s confusion with every interaction he has with Jazz.
This is fast-paced, easily read in one sitting and leaves you eager for what comes next. Isla sure can hook you quickly and keep you invested and interested for more. I loved seeing special appearances by our favourite family, the Kelly’s too!
If you love:
💬 Witty banter & snappy dialogue 🔥 My fave “reverse age-gap” 📱 Bingeable short HFN to be continued!
Talk is first book of the new Whiskey Tango Foxtrot series featuring same couple, this first book ends at a cliffhanger.
Talk is about Damon and Jasper "Jazz". Damon is divorced and lives with his brother and his husband. Damon is bartending at the bar which Jazz owns it.
This was a spicy read with a kink-awakening. I like how Jazz is, even though he mess with Damon, he would back of if Damon wants to stop. Very good start of the series, I liked it! I can't wait next book.
------------------------------------------------------------- I received a copy of this book, and this is my honest review
I enjoy Isla's humorous writing and as Jazz intrigued me in Mr Nice Guy, and Blake and Owen's book Virtually Screwed is one of my all time favourites, I had to read this. I did enjoy the older sub/younger dom dynamic, and Damon's sexual and kink awakening. I found Jazz frustrating though, in that he was well aware Damon was new to this and didn't do much to explain or put him at ease with the new situation. Still want the next in the series now though!.

A very promising, teaser of a start to this serial. Jazz has it bad for his older bartender. Older, straight bartender.
Damon is a divorcee, has two kids in college, and his new boss, Jazz, is driving him crazy with singing sexy songs, texting him seriously delinquent messages, and outright asking him for it. But he's super straight and always has been, right?
Maybe not. This first episode delves into a little bit of torture by fantasy and it's delicious.
For this first installment, there's quite a bit of teasing, flirting and discovering that Damon has a kink with the help of Jazz. There's definitely a lot of sexual tension between Damon and Jazz and denial as well. Let's see how they pan out in the next installment.

A very good start to a promising new series. Jazz is relentless in teasing Damon, who reacts in ways he never could have dreamed were options for him. The epilogue shows that there are still more steps to follow in Damon's awakening. I enjoyed seeing a lot of characters from other series. Thanks for the advance copy via Booksprout, I am happy to leave a voluntary review.
Thank you for the book, here is my honest opinion: What a fun concept, I enjoyed the serial format and look forward to episode two. This is the perfect quick read, wonderfully flawed but likable characters, excellent steam, and some fun push and pull between Damon and Jazz. I enjoyed the chemistry and the friction between them, looking forward to more!
I enjoyed this episode from start to ”I knew it was coming but whyyyyyyyyyyyyy did have to end so soon, I’m too greedy and I want the whole book already dang it”. Patiently waiting for episode two…
Thank you for the dose of my favourite Kelly clan.
Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this story. This is set in the same universe as most of the authors other books and you will see a lot of familiar faces. The world building was wonderful and the characters are so interesting. I can’t wait for the next installment of this story.

I wish this wasn't a serial because the soft cliff hanger is not much but I digress. I don't know if I like Jazz but he is adorable with his sister. Damon's character isn't that intriguing either. I want to see some drama happen here because everything seems lacking.
