yeah she put that TERF / transphobic shit in this one — stuff like "two women can’t procreate," "challengers are organised by sex and presentation," and genitalia being the main disqualifier for a fling. individually, it could be explained away with ignorance, but combined makes it seem more malicious. so that's gonna be a no from me dogg

I really wanted to love this book as much as I did the Soul Match series. While I still genuinely enjoyed it, I found myself a bit frustrated at times. Just as the characters seemed to be making meaningful progress in their communication and development, those moments were often cut short and replaced with physical intimacy, which made the story feel repetitive and stalled the emotional growth for me. That said, I remain optimistic, much like with the Soul Match series, that the next instalment will build more deeply on the protagonists' bond and chemistry.
I really wanted to love this book as much as I did the Soul Match series. While I still genuinely enjoyed it, I found myself a bit frustrated at times. Great Story
Thank goodness there will be a book 2-I definitely need more Harriet and Cole! Oh and the spice in this book is off the charts! I’ll be checking out more of J.K.’s books!!

I think the main conflict/ premise was enough! There was no need to get an engagement there to interrupt the dynamic. Specially in the omegaverse universe where Alpha females CAN get Omegas pregnant. Sighs.

I really loved this book—it completely pulled me in, and I genuinely cared about the characters. But I can’t deny that I felt a little disappointed.
The “special bond” had so much potential, yet it never truly felt real to me. I kept waiting for that emotional moment where it would click… but it stayed distant and underdeveloped.
I’m still invested in the story, though, and I really hope the next book gives this bond the depth and intensity it deserves—because it could be something truly powerful.

Well, well, well…
This story is filled with intensity and raw emotional fire. From the moment we meet Cole, there is no mistaking that she is a true alpha female. She is wealthy, intelligent, moderately feral, devoted, purely dominant, and downright dangerous.
Harriet begins the story on the arm of Ashford, a mad, cruel, diabolical wolf shapeshifter. He is selfish and repulsive in every sense. Ashford “rescues” Harriet during her first-ever shift, only for it to be revealed that she is an omega—one who was hunted and nearly murdered by her own pack and even her parents. My good gawd.
Harriet is quiet and deeply abused. She does everything possible to appease the man who claimed her, except love him. Loving him goes against her very nature. Everything changes when Ashford loses Harriet to Cole of Pack Sandstorm due to his mounting gambling debt. When that debt comes due, Harriet is part of the payment.
At first, Harriet feels as though she has leapt out of the frying pan and into the fire. Unbeknownst to both women, however, they are profoundly compatible. They find themselves unable to stay away from one another, constantly drawn into each other’s orbit by a powerful, unexplainable pull.
Harriet never wanted Ashford—but she did want Cole. The fire between them refuses to be ignored. Cole carries the heavy burden of duty to her pack as the next in line for alpha succession, a role that traditionally demands marriage and offspring. To start with, I don't think I have the words to describe this feeling. I'm a huge fan of J.K. Jeffrey's work—I've read all her books—and I have to say I'm super excited to share my honest review of the story. This will be my first time doing this as part of the ARC team, and it's an honor.
Let's get right to it. First off, I loved the story—it has that magnetic pull that draws you in from the very first moment. As soon as I started reading, I knew this was exactly what I was looking for. I devoured it like a Coke on a hot day. Personally, I love the dynamic between our two protagonists from the very first moment, and I like how the different perspectives are told throughout the story. I totally identify with Harriet, one of our protagonists; I feel that despite the difficulties she went through during her first transition, she had the guts to move forward with a strategy that kept her going until our encounter with Cole. I loved them both from the very start, but I’m definitely a sucker for Cole. As for the main theme, I think this book perfectly captures what can be seen as a super deep relationship between our two protagonists. There are moments of tension where I wanted to throw my phone against the wall—I just want Cole to take her omega without anyone telling her what she can or can’t do. I get that she has responsibilities to the pack, but come on!
I need more romance with our girls! Like I said, this book sets the scene and gets you out of your reading slump right away. The smut scenes were, as always, a 1000/10—I loved every second of it.
And well, this is the first book in a duology, and honestly, that ending left me speechless—I need the second one to come out right away!! I think in the second book we’ll see more character development for our protagonists, so I can’t wait. I have to say, this anticipation of reading it brings back memories of *The Princess’s Pet* (if you haven’t read it yet, do yourself a favor and download it, girl).
I loved this book. I love that it’s an omegaverse story because there really isn’t much sapphic content out there, so I hope this world doesn’t end with just a second book but expands further.

This will be my honest review of the story. Ok let’s just dive right into it, I was given the opportunity to read this book as a ARC so thank you for the opportunity for that. Now first and foremost I enjoyed the story, I liked our main character Harriet was lovely but be warned she’ll have her moment where you wanna strangle her. This story felt much more like a setting up for romance. There are brief moments between Harriet and Cole when it comes to that department. I’m fully sure though the next book would heavily dive into that bond between them more. With tension that can snap a bow string between Harriet and Cole. I wanna see if romance can truly bloom between our omega and her alpha.
Smut scenes were on point 10/10 as always.
It is a duology so on the shorter side of books but I’m assuming the continuation will come out on the sooner side. The major and minor conflicts will be interesting to see how it all plays out between our main characters.
Lore wise there is a lot of directions the story can go for instance why the sandstorms don’t allow omegas, how many omega are left in the world. What I’m hoping is for a difference in the way of genre as well. Harriet is an omega, but I don’t want it to be her defining quality as a character and werewolf.
I’m really excited to see what happens with the bond between our two characters and how they will develop their relationship or will the crumble completely. It’s interesting as Harriet is not even Cole type yet there was always an attraction they shared. Hoping to see more emotional moments, more vulnerability from Cole. Hoping we get Harriet on Cole motorcycle!. and what would Cole choice be next book with such a massive burden now placed between both characters one filled with regret while the other we don’t know much about yet how Cole feels. This might actually be my favorite series start from JK Jeffrey, which really surprised me because I already loved The Princess’s Pet so much and didn’t think anything could top it for me. But I genuinely loved Claimed by the Storm even more.
The worldbuilding is so interesting, especially her take on the Omegaverse. It feels darker and more emotional than what I usually read in this genre.
Harriet is the one who really stood out to me. Her story is just heartbreaking. Being an omega in this world feels genuinely terrifying, and you feel it in every decision she makes. Everything she does comes from trying to protect herself, and it made me feel so much for her. I just wanted to give her a hug for real… I really hope in the next book she grows more confident and starts setting boundaries, because she deserves that.
Also, the way Cole had me??? Jesus! She’s such a compelling Alpha, and her backstory hit hard. You can really feel everything she had to sacrifice to stand where she is now, especially in her relationship with her sister, Alpha Sara. There’s so much love between them, but it’s strained by politics and everything Cole had to give up.
One thing I kept coming back to while reading was why???. Why are omegas seen as trouble? Why are they treated this way, with so few rights and so little protection? The worldbuilding is already really interesting, but I found myself wanting to go even deeper into that aspect
And Darren, my baby!!! He was such a highlight, too. His friendship with Harriet felt so genuine and brought a bit of softness to the story.
I’m also really curious to see how everything will evolve, especially with the true mates aspect going forward.
Overall, I loved this book. Harriet and Cole have my whole heart, and I’m already waiting for the next book <3.

It has been so long since I read a really great werewolf shifter book and this one definitely did not disappoint. Combine that with the dark romance element and I was sold from the beginning!
Claimed by the Storm follows Harriet an omega living in a world where her kind are shunned and seen as weak, when she becomes collateral for her “alpha’s” gambling debt. Cole is the alpha heir of pack Sandstorm and she’s here to collect a debt, but she doesn’t bargain for her need to also claim Harriet as “collateral”. It’s a story of two forces coming together to create something that shouldn’t exist and the obstacles and obligations that prevent it from happening.
I adored this book from the minute I started reading! J.K Jeffrey’s work always carries that element of darkness with the overwhelming pull and chemistry between the two FMCs, even when obligations prevent the union happening. I’ve also come to expect deliciously detailed spice and while CBTS had less than I anticipated, it did not disappoint! Honestly this book was the perfect beginning to a new series and I for one cannot wait to read the rest of Harriet and Cole’s story!

JK Jeffrey has given us another page-turner! This time it's an omegaverse romance. If you've read the Soul Match Series, you'll definitely enjoy this one. The relationship between Harriet and Cole is quite similar to the dynamic between Percy and Selene have, but with its own unique vibe. I loved the way the author described all their loving, intimate moments—from sweet, heartfelt conversations to beautiful, explicit sex scenes.
I read the whole book in one go. I just couldn't put it down. That's what JK Jeffrey excels at. Her books always captivate me in a way few other books can.
Honestly, I didn't find any real downsides. If you love well-written lesbian fantasy romance with some dark elements and don't mind the power dynamics, then you can't go wrong with Claimed by the Storm or any of JK's books.
The ending clearly sets up a sequel, and I'm already looking forward to it!.

I've read and enjoyed omegaverse before, but... I dunno, this one wasn't it. The "plot" only seemed to be there to fuel this weird Non-con kink. Which, if that's your thing, fine. No shade. But, it made the story boring. Every character is both an asshole and a complete idiot with all the maturity of emotionally stunted children. Just pure misogyny and abuse all the way down without any introspection or character growth.
I ended up skim reading at about 50% just out of morbid curiosity if Cole would ever show any sort of regret or guilt over how terribly abusive she is throughout this whole thing and I'll go ahead and spare you that slog by just saying.. no, she doesn't. At all. She kinda gets worse? Like.. wow.
Sadly, I did not know this was going to be the first in a series and should have bailed instead, but it was at least a quick read, if also a very disappointing one.

I loved this book even if I didn’t particularly like Cole. Harriet our very own omega was a fascinating character to read. After a seemingly arrogance ridden decision by Cole to take Harriet as part of a bet you are taken on a journey of someone who believes they are less than worthless. It’s a joy to see her growth throughout the book and I have to say I truly enjoyed her friendship with Darren! Another brilliantly written character. I’m on the fence with Cole as while I understand her need to fulfil her pack needs I just want to shake her by the shoulders throughout the book and tell her to sort her s**t out!
All in all though another smashing book by J.K Jeffery, I can’t wait for the next one! Something I find myself regularly saying with this author.

Wow. I probably say that after every one of Jeffrey's books. But, I couldn't put this down. It was an amazing book and I'm already impatiently waiting for the sequel.
The background and lore for the story are unique in the omegaverse universes that I've read. Omega's aren't the revered protected citizens they are in many stories, and it just puts an interesting new spin on an old favorite.
I loved the dynamic between Harriet and Cole. It was Jeffrey's unique brand of slightly toxic "You are mine" that all of her books seem to have in common. Though this one may be one of her most wholesome books by comparison...not that that says a lot. Unlike her other books, there is a lot more push and pull between the characters and you're never quite sure how things are going to play out at any given moment. I loved it.

I received an early copy of this book, and it is another one of Jeffrey’s book that I absolutely enjoyed. The chemistry between the two main characters is amazing. I was instantly sucked in and invested in the characters. The author exceeds at writing a WLW werewolf story. One of the best I read in a while. I love the dynamic between the main characters. It feels softer than her usual main characters’ dynamic. It’s still very push and pull and hot though. Jeffrey is a pro at creating a push and pull relationship. I love it. I loved this book and will reread. I can’t wait to read the next book. I am a bit sad it’s only a duology.

I devoured this book! I couldn't put it down and finished it in one day. JK Jeffries writes dark romances like no other. The story grabs your attention right away, and you quickly come to love the characters and their intricate dynamics.
Jeffries absolutely excels at the "touch her and die" trope, delivering a perfect blend of protective possession and high-stakes tension that I crave as a dark romance readers.
The ending did feel a bit abrupt, but the author notes that book two is on the way. I cannot wait to dive back into this world! I'm eager for whatever Jeffries writes next!.

wish I could read it like new again!
Finished…so when is the next book out? J.K. Jeffrey has out done herself again. This paper turner was too good to put down and even lose some sleep to keep reading (iykyk).
Harriet is the sweet down on her luck girl who needs to finally get some freedom from her caged routine life. And Cole is the perfect one to give it to her even if her version of freedom has its thorns. Cole is a very dominant ice queen that makes sly quips and flirts as fast as you can wink.
12/10 recommend to read and definitely looking forward to the second book to see how these two move forward with their story.

So good but...
J.K. Jeffrey did it again with this book and new series. How you may ask? Well she created such a d*mn good story and left you wanting.
Did I know there would be a cliffhanger? Yes I did. Yet did I finish this book within hours of starting it? Again yes I did and now?? Well I find my self waiting yet again for another one of her books. The question though would be is it worth it? YES YES IT IS. So if you are a fan of hers, read it. If you never read her books before read them. She always gives us a very unique perspective on the supernatural world. Be aware of the triggers and how different class/status/hierarchy there is.

First and foremost, I appreciate when a white author writes non-white characters. Since I am a Black masculine stud, where do we begin? The story started off quickly, and I felt the pacing was a little too fast for me. I would have liked it to be a bit longer, with more yearning and longing. I wanted a little more tension, but overall, it was good. It frustrated me, surprised me, and made me feel like I got slapped in the face. I love the passion between the main characters. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Not much happened in this book I expected more plot but it's mainly just arguments and tense scenes between the two main characters. Also, I didn't like how Cole kept using her strength to get Harriet to do whatever she wanted. She didn't use it against her in a sexual way but if Harriet tried to leave or needed space Cole kept her pinned or held onto her wrist to stop her walking away. I'm assuming we're meant to like Cole but I really didn't like how she was written and how she acted. I found myself wanting Harriet to act against her not in a teasing away but to genuinely piss her off.

I got to read this book as an ARC and this is my honest review. I don't usually care for shifter/omegaverse books, but I love this author's other series so I gave it a shot. Was. Not. Disappointed. Both Harriet and Cole are well developed characters and their chemistry is fantastic. I was instantly invested in their struggles fighting against what they want and can't have because of their roles. I can't wait to see where their relationship goes in book 2!

What did I just read!? This was just wow. I’ve never read this author before, but omg, I’ll definitely be heading back to read previous books. This story with Cole and Harriet was just so good. I loved the tension and the chaos. These two had me on the edge of my seat devouring this one. The back and forth, push and pull, excellent. And the world building, so well done. I had the absolute best time reading this, and I need the second one yesterday.

Good book
First time reading this author and first-time reading a shifter book. This book keep coming up in my feed so I though I'd give it a try. After figuring out Alpha and Omega then Beta level of order it makes things easier. Cole is an Alpha and Harriet is an Omega. Harriet is learning to shift with Cole help, but things change when Harriet learn of past things. A good story will wait to see what happens between these two MCs

I read it basically in one sitting. J.K. Jeffrey is simply the queen of dark romance. When I saw the book I was SO disappointed because I thought Cole was a dude. Nope! Just a super hot alpha wolf lady. Anyways, amazing chemistry, complex characters, and exactly what you want from this author. Highly recommended. I do think that it could’ve been longer though. Can’t wait for book 2!!

JK Jeffrey became one of my favorite authors with Princess’s Pet and her latest addition is of the same caliber. Claimed by the Storm is the story of a badly bruised (not broken) omega and a powerful alpha bound by duty. Their romance is political suicide but the heart can only be denied for so long. I can’t wait to see where JK takes this story next
