Phoebe had been raised on stories of the magical moment when she would meet her fated mate, the one destined to be her partner forever. She grew up watching her parents’ great love and knew it wasn’t just wishful thinking. However dreams and reality prove to be very different when she meets her Graham, future Alpha of the Rimrock Pack. He rejects her and leaves her without a backward glance.
He rejected her because he thought she was weak, wolfless. Little does he know it is all a façade. Phoebe’s wolf is unlike any other. She is a silver wolf, the very incarnation of the Moon Goddess herself, and destined to change the world they know.
Living in the shadow of her former mate Phoebe remains with her pack making her own place among the others by taking care of their pups. If this is the life she was given she is determined to make the most of it despite the continued ridicule she receives as her wolf insists they must be discrete and refuses to come forward. Destiny; however, has not forgotten them and rears its head again when her second chance mate appears.
Jason, Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack, one of the six ancient and most powerful of all packs, has been searching in vain for his Luna for nearly a decade. He is on the verge of giving up when a security check has him setting foot on the Rimrock pack lands. Her scent tantalizes him. Her beauty and grace leave him speechless. His mate. His Luna. But first he has to convince her he wants only her.
Can this newly formed power couple truly change the world? Just what destiny awaits them when Phoebe’s wolf is revealed? When even the royal family stands against them is their love strong enough to overcome and bring the new dawn?
Second Chance Luna (Luna Rising Series Book 2) ~~ Book two raised the stakes in all the right ways. I continued reading on Kindle and listening on Audible, and once again, this series reminded me why reading and listening helps keep me grounded when I’m not teaching. The emotional tension, pack politics, and growing bond between Phoebe and Jason kept me hooked from start to finish.
Phoebe really starts to come into her own in this book. You see her confidence grow, her power develop, and her role within the pack become more defined. I loved that her growth felt earned — she struggles, questions herself, and still pushes forward. It made her journey feel authentic instead of rushed.
Jason also gets more depth here. His loyalty, protective instincts, and internal conflict add layers to his character, especially as outside threats and pack pressures start closing in. Their relationship deepens in a way that feels natural, with trust slowly building alongside the passion. Yes, the steam is still there, but it’s the emotional connection that really made this book work for me.
The ending definitely left me wanting more. There’s enough resolution to feel satisfied, but enough unanswered questions and looming danger to make jumping into the next book a necessity.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself ~ you won’t regret it.
The main characters are almost too perfect. I really liked this but was disappointed by the choices made for the ending. It just wasn't fair at all.
SPOILERS: h is repeatedly shown as plain and different than other wolfs. Of course, Jason loves the way she looks but others describe her as cute/pretty or rudely thinking her lacking. They have to deal with SO many women wanting the H. The H is drugged and assaulted. h feels the pain of betrayal (forced kiss) and stops the woman after she undresses him and herself. H feels so guilty. But the h just handles it too perfectly. Never cries about anything. Sooths him, has sex, never doubts. She even let the pregnant teen who claimed H was the father in front of others just walk away after she sneaks into their bed. IDK I just wanted more emotion from Pheobe. Then the ending. Her wolf made h special and strong making her more equal to her super powerful, super desirable mate. Now she has to live without her? Lobo, one of the best characters, has to live without his mate. I hated it. h still has mate bond, her bond to the pack as luna, and her aura but it almost feels like she is punished and made less than even though she did everything right.
The story line of tho Is book is good. However, there are a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes. Some characters mix us their own story in it. Other times, its very poorly laid out. All of a sudden the story line changes and New things are just thrown in without and linkage to the previous sentence or paragraph. I stopped half way through the second one. It just gets worse the deeper you read. Maybe chatgtp helped finish the book or it wasnt proof read or edited very well.
Adult content, reader discretion advised. Jason knocked up Phoebe. It should be a time to celebrate. It turns into a time of death, restructuring and restoration. Some sacrifices were made. The royal line was corrupt. The moon goddess stepped in.
Again dear readers, please be kind despite the editing issues. It takes a lot of courage to write a book and perseverance to publish.
Good story (also the first story); it holds your attention well. There are many mistakes where the wrong names are in place (Jason is talking to Phoebe, but at one point, is referred to as Amber. Whoever edited this for the author did not do a good job! Thankfully, wanting to find out what happens next gets you through the mistakes.
Liked the story, not a fan of the injustice included with the ending. Like the first book in the duology, the mistakes were distracting... incorrect name insertions and word errors made certain parts harder to follow. Hopefully author gets better editor in future as the premise for the story was good. Mani sacrificing was not expected and took away from the ending.
I liked the story line. After reading book 1 I wanted see what happened at the end of book 2. Both books need series editing. Names are mixed up in places, the introduction of new characters can be confusing. The book pulled on your heart strings but I would not recommend until there was was a rewrite with extensive editing.
It was either the author forgot what characters were which or it was misprinted. Please fix it! I was forced to interpret who the author was talking about it was as if it was printed without being proofread. The story would be great if it wasn’t confusing trying to figure out what it was supposed to say.
Wonderful book. Well thought out plot and I really enjoyed the follow through with all the characters. Only a four because of confusion with character names or mixed up mates/gender pronouns throughout the book.
I have read this previously. There are chunks missing from the original story. There are also more name changing mistakes and it's seems like more Grammer issues. It is still the same story line just not a smooth read anymore.
With this book, you will laugh, cry, have anxiety, but the storyline flows with no over exaggeration of situations that never seem to end. It was like living with a family and going through their lives.
This duology is Ai assisted written. There is a lot of Name confusion, Inconsistent writing with lack of split between character view point, location and time and human emotion. It's a tick box story.
When you know you know. True fated love and acceptance of that love is the way to go. It goes to show that allowing each other to grow into that love is priceless Thsnk you
Still a decent storyline but seriously hindered by all the errors. Name errors especially, which made figuring out who was speaking or killing annoying and frustrating.
I couldn't put this book or the first in this series down. You fall in love with Phoebe and her heartache. Then you meet Jason and his devotion to heal her and the love and bond that they share. The many obstacles they overcome .A very good read.
I wish this was combined with the first so it was all in one. No abrupt stop in the middle. I think when the book became digitized, it changed names at times. Overall, a really good read. Couldn't put it down.
I couldn’t put it down. There are a few typos here and there and some parts I wished were a little longer. Overall it was a good book and it didn’t leave any loose ends. Good story overall.
The story and plots were fab. There was lots going on, and a few times, I was a little lost with a few spelling errors when he turned to she and she turned to he. But overall, it was easy to follow who was who. Fab story about love and heartbreak.
There are several places where the story has the wrong person talking, which can be confusing. Also, incorrect verb tense and the occasional strange word that doesn't make since. If you can get past that, it's not a bad read.
It had a great storyline but I kept getting distracted by grammar. I occasionally had difficulty determining who was speaking. It would be amazing if I'd was edited.
This was a better read than the first book... the flow was so much better and although I still wish some storylines had more depth and details...I did enjoy the read...
This was a good read. Enjoyed how different it was along with the action that happened. Anyone that enjoys wolves and fated mates I believe will enjoy this series
