Khiya Reid’s life has been in limbo since she lost the job she’d held for the last ten years. Not knowing what to do next, she applies to be a flight attendant at Sable Airlines. After a rigorous application, interview, and training process, she gets the job and begins her new journey.

Her first day happens to be Valentine’s Day, and she finds herself stuck in Denver because of a snowstorm. On the way to her hotel room, she’s taken aback when a gorgeous stranger hops on the elevator just before the doors close. The icing on the cake . . . his room is next door to hers.

Sylas McCoy lives what most would consider a charmed life. He’s handsome, educated, financially secure, and a successful pilot for Sable Airlines. He wants to settle down, but until he finds a woman who gives him the high that flying does, he has no interest in a serious relationship.

On Valentine’s Day, a snowstorm in Denver causes all airlines to ground their planes. After booking his room, he rushes onto the elevator, and his eyes connect with a woman whose beauty gives him a rush like never before. He can’t get her off his mind, so he invites her to dinner and is ecstatic when she accepts.

From the moment they are seated, their chemistry is off the charts. Will Sylas and Khiya keep their feelings grounded when it’s time for them to part ways, or will they let them take flight?

“Sylas has commitment issues, so don’t get too comfortable.”
“Oh, I’m real comfortable, especially when I sit on his face. You enjoy the rest of your shift.” M’kay Khiya. 😏😏😏😏

After she was suddenly laid off from her job of 10 years, Khiya randomly applied for a position as a flight attendant with Sable Airlines and, after going through a lengthy application process, she was hired. Transitioning from finance to a flight attendant was not on her 2026 BINGO card but, here we are. His career as a pilot with Sable Airlines has left little time to date seriously so, Sylas has been happily single but, he’s finally ready to settle down and find his rib. When he stepped onto the hotel elevator and spots Khiya, Sylas is immediately drawn to her like no other. This is her. This is the woman who was meant to be his wife and the mother of his children and Sylas wastes no time tryin’ to convince Khiya. I love how intentional Sylas was. He was the epitome of if he wants to he will. Only for You was a cute love story. This book had me smilin’ from start to finish. 😊

Can we say when you know you know? Sylas was coasting through life enjoying his career as a pilot and loving on his family. When he met Khyia something stirred within, telling him she was the one. I loved the care and intention that he showed in his pursuit. He was a man with a plan.

Khyia having to do an unplanned career pivot, just wanted to find a job she could enjoy. Meeting Sylas was unexpected, but right on time. He was everything that she didn't know she needed. They were adorable with their fun, flirty banter. Good time. 👍🏾👍🏾

(3.5) This was a cute, quick, and heartwarming read. Sylas was very intentional from the start about wanting to build something real with Khiya, and I appreciated that steady, mature approach to their relationship (both characters are mid/late 30’s). There were a couple exes who popped up to create minor tension, but overall there wasn’t much conflict. They were secure in who they were to each other & what they were building.
While it was an easy and enjoyable read, it didn’t necessarily stand out or leave a lasting impression for me. But if you’re looking for something sweet, simple, and feel-good without a lot of turmoil, this delivers.

Only For You

Who doesn't love a man who is intentional and stands on business? I'll wait! That's what I thought. Every woman wants a man like this, and if she says she doesn't, she lying and the truth ain't in her.

I love Sylas and the man he represents. He is definitely the man you want on your team. I'm happy that Khiya decided to become a flight attendant. This was a beautiful story. I smiled the entire time I was reading it.

So beautiful!!

This was such a sweet love story. Sylas was straightforward and Khiya was more reserved and observant. Their conversation, personalities, and energy they gave off after meeting and chatting a few hours proved they may be what the other needed. Neither Khiya or Sylas had a relationship on their minds. Time apart and time well spent together may have proved why they were only made for each other. I loved it. #Harlan&LivvyCouldNever

🔥💖 Insta-Love Done Right! 💖🔥

Oooo! 😍📚 Another amazing read by Kay Shanee—and once again, she absolutely delivered! You truly haven’t disappointed me yet. From the very first pages, Sylas and Khiya had that instant attraction that pulls you in and refuses to let go. ✨🔥

What I loved most about this story was the balance: a whole lot of love with little to no unnecessary drama (yes please! 🙌🏽). There was no back-and-forth confusion or wavering feelings—just two people who knew what they felt and leaned fully into it. Their connection was strong, genuine, and refreshing. 💞

Sylas? Whew 😮‍🔥 He was intentional, confident, and clear about what he wanted from the jump, and that energy was everything. While Khiya had questions, she chose to trust him, which made their connection feel real and beautiful. 🥹💖

Their romance was pure fire from beginning to end—passionate, sweet, and emotionally satisfying. This was one of those stories that leaves you smiling, swooning, and already ready the next Kay Shanee book. 📖✨ Highly recommend to anyone who loves solid romance, strong connection, and a drama-free love that just works. 💕🔥

Sylas and Khiya!!

Khiya becomes a flight attendant after losing her job of ten years. She meets Sylas, a pilot working for the same black-owned airline, after both of their flights are grounded due to snow in Denver on Valentine's Day. They are attracted to each other from the very beginning. One thing leads to the another, and they have a passionate time together while they are snowed in. The way that Sylas is very intentional with his pursuit of Khiya is something that I loved. He knew what he wanted and wasn't afraid to go after it. I'm glad that Khiya let Sylas love her the way she needed to be loved. Both Sylas and Khiya's exes were delulu and had a lot of audacity. Both of them needed to kick rocks. This book was wonderful because my interest was held from beginning to end due to the deep connection and love between Sylas and Khiya.

Must read

Sylas was not playing when he said that he was not searching but will find his wife when the time was right. We'll the elevator was the right time because Khiya voice had my boy in a state of longing. The conversation flowed and the night flew by.

I loved every minute of this romance and was tickle by their banter. There were no secrets and just vibes and relationship building. Exes be damn because each claimed the other and showed they did not play and was together for the long haul.

Cute read.

Their families saw rhw love and knew they would be together. It was short but beautiful.

only for you

This is one of those books that keep you smiling throughout the entire book. Khyia and Sylas keep you reading and wanting more throughout it’s entirety. Sylas was sort of moving through life on autopilot until the beautiful Khyia stepped onto an elevator in Denver. Neither expected that their lives would change for the better on her first layover as a newly appointed flight attendant. An enjoyable read…Happy Reading Y’all!💋

This was a cute read!

This was a cute read and I really enjoyed Sylas. I will say for the first half of the book Khiya was a bit reserved when it came to him, like when she talked to Mena or herself she was all excited and happy but certain conversations with him just seemed lack luster. Regardless, it did get better at about 60% of the book and I loved how the drama wasn’t real drama. The proposal was beautiful and the ending was perfect 🥹

What a surprise

This book made me believe in fate and destiny. I know that God has a plan, sometimes it's hard to remember, especially when life doesn't look like what you want, but this book reminds that one there is no certain amount of time needed when it's your soul's mate and that we have to be willing to watch God work.
Great book by an author I didn't know. I look forward to more great reads from you Kay.

Only for you

This story gave me all the feels. I loved how intentional Sylas was with showing his love for Khiya. He was on her from the time he first laid eyes on her. I loved that their love was drama free and reciprocal. I also loved how they seemed to have similar values and family backgrounds which made it easy for them to interact with each other's families.

😍

I loved this! A different pace from the shooting and drug dealing I’m use to reading. I smiled so much while reading this. Boy, them ex’s couldn’t stand away huh? Livvy was ridiculous! Not to mention Harlan was a pure psycho! Loved their job descriptions. Loved both families and all of their friends. The entire book was just what I needed.

This book was so captivating and I couldn't put it down. Sylas and Khiya had such a connection between them. They both were family oriented. He definitely was very intentional in everything he said and did. Don't know why Livvy missed the memo. Lol
Khiya came in and stole his heart on day.

Whew…Silas meant business

Silas is a handsome pilot living his best single life until he meets Khiya a new flight attendant with a sultry voice. She intrigues him and he makes it his business to get to know her better. Their chemistry is off the chain and their connection is electric. Love was inevitable for them. I loved their story!!

A Sweet Love Story

I haven’t read anything by this author in a long time. For me her books had to many repetitive lines and parts of the story seemed like a copy and paste. I’m glad I picked this one up. This book was so much better. I loved the characters and the storyline. Sylas didn’t play about Khiya. I loved how he loved her. I recommend reading this book.

Breathtaking

Omg, this book was so romantic. There love story took shape without the excessive messy females trying to sabotage the relationship. Sylas was intentional from the start letting everyone know there was only one woman for him and he was not playing or wasting time when it came to Khiya. If you want to read a calm heartfelt romantic love story then this a must read.

Love it

I really enjoyed this book especially showcasing a Black man that has a professional job that's would give fafo vibes but wasn't a drug kingpin or gang banger. This is a new author for me and I'm going to check out some more of her work.

An intentional man that knows what he wants and doesn’t play about his woman. My favorite kind of book no drama, family love and support. One thing of many that Kay does well in under 200 pages she gets me together with an insta love story.

Just sweet

This story was so sweet. No deep secrets or drama. Just two people who knew who they were and what they wanted when they met the right person for them. The family was easy going and supportive. These were regular, relatable people. Sylas and Khiya were just cute.

Sylas and Khiya were a cute uncomplicated love story! I love that both people were in their 30's. We don't get enough stories about the grown and sexy! Sylas was a 38 year old pilot and Khiya was a flight attendant at the same airline. From the moment he met Khiya he moved with intention. This story was the epitome of if he wants to he will!
