Good start to a series. Noelle and Ryder's story blooms on a good weekend in London with her friend Alyssa. The unlikely of girls out there but Ryder falls for her... hard ;)
A good read, looking forward to reading the next one.
Not suitable for persons under the age of 18 :P Just should put that out there haha
This debut novel by L M Evans is the first in the Crushing On The Stars series and focuses on the handsome, globally famous superstar actor Ryder James. It is a beautiful tale of what we've all secretly dreamed about: what would happen if you ever met your movie star crush and what would happen next??
Noelle Jacobs is 20, from Wales starts this novel by enduring the worst surprise visit to her boyfriend's house imaginable. She is now focussing on enjoying her life and following her passions for music and movies, whilst healing her broken heart. Her best friend Alyssa organises a 21st getaway trip to remember to London and this is where Noelle meets Ryder James; her movie star crush since childhood and from that point on never will her life be the same again.
Life involving a world wide known movie star is never easy. Distance, misunderstandings, crazy exes and the paparazzi all cause complications that Noelle doesn't want to have. Add to that a secret she wants nobody to know about and you can imagine she'd rather stay inside and avoid admitting her true feelings to anyone.
When things hit the big time her friends are the only ones she can rely on, Alyssa and Kyffin are just the ultimate best friends and I hope they get a chance to shine in further books in this series as their just so memorable and serious scene stealers!! They offer support, strength and hope to Noelle when she feels nothing is going right.
Ryder is the ultimate superstar: suave, charming and devastatingly good looking but Noelle is no fool for those traits " he is an actor for crying out loud!! If he can fake it on film, what's to stop him pretending he's into me when he's not!" If he wants to convince Noelle he genuinely needs her in his life he's going to have to use more than his looks and money, his actions and words will be the hardest part he's ever had to play: the real Ryder.
Will Ryder and Noelle get that perfect romantic movie happily ever after or will real life just crush Noelle's heart forever for crushing on a star??
This debut book Ryder James is about a heartthrob movie star. I find it a little difficult to write the review because I don't want to add any spoilers and for that reason it is difficult.
Who doesn't have a crush on a movie star or someone in the limelight? What if you were to meet your crush?
Noelle is devastated after finding her fiancé Scott (now ex) in bed with some bimbo. She accepts her best friend's birthday idea to go away for her 21st birthday for a weekend to get away and have fun.
Noelle's life will never be the same after meeting her mega crush Ryder James. After meeting, they are drawn together by their attraction for each other but what will happen when complications arise with past boyfriends/girlfriends, will she feel that Ryder was only using her or can they withstand the distance that will separate them.
Her best friends are there to support, comfort and be her confidants no matter what. There is a secret that she is carrying that she is struggling over whether to tell Ryder or not. Will she tell him or not and will that tear them apart?
I recommend that you read this story of Noelle and Ryder to see what happens when she meets her crush. I had some difficulty in the way some things were worded in the book. There are terms used that are not typical where I live so I had to get used to it. Please don't discount the story if you have problems with the words, work through it because it is a good book. I can't wait until the next one!
I was given an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
The premise is one that has been done many times before. This isn't a bad thing it just means it's a very predictable read.
It felt at points the author was hurrying to move the plot on so some parts were rushed and under developed.
Noelle was a highly annoying and dislikeable character, felt little connection to her as a reader. She came across to me as whiny.
The writing style of the book was a little to cliché for my personal tastes. If you are going to write a book with a premise which has been used many times, try to make it unique and not one huge cliché.
My major problem with this book however was purely down to the editing. Some of the errors and punctuation made me wonder if the book had been edited at all,as while reading I often felt as if the author had wrote the book and put out to be published without checking or reading it through first.
Over all this is a very easy read. Would be something suitable for a quick read while relaxing in the bath.
I look forward to seeing what the author comes out with next, I just hope the next book is edited more thoroughly.
*I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review* This is the debut novel of the author and I gotta say it had the potential to be a great read. Unfortunately, the plot surrendered to a lot of clichés that I personally have started getting tired of in books. Instant love for example. I really needed some more built-up and definitely some further character development. I liked Ryder James much more than our heroine, Noelle, but it was not enough to keep my interest. I think the book needed further editing because the errors and punctuation drove me away from the storyline. It was an okay read for me, a fairytale, but it could have been much better. 3 stars from me.
I like the story of how a normal person can get any guy she wants who happens to be a film star.
The story is about how Noelle had a big huge crush on no other then Ryder James for nine years. She finally meets him in person when she gos to London for her birthday and bumbs into Ryder in the same hotel she is staying at. The story is very well written and I loved it x
Noelle comes face to face with the movie star she has crushed in for years, Ryder James. He's not only handsome, but sweet as can be. She can't believe his interested in her. A misunderstanding breaks them up and he tries desperately to get her back. Will there be a happily ever after like in the fairy tales????
