She thought running away would heal her broken heart. She never expected him to chase her into danger.
Selah Silver is done being the girl who needs rescuing. After their explosive breakup on a Caribbean island, all she wants is three peaceful months at a kids' camp in Washington State—far from her ex-boyfriend North Gunderson and the chaos that follows him.
No emergencies. No life-or-death decisions. No reminders of the man who said she was too reckless to love.
But peace shatters the moment her train derails in the Cascade Mountains.
Suddenly, Selah is on the run with a charming stranger, a mysterious canister, and a target on her back. She doesn't know who to trust. She doesn't know what she's carrying. And she doesn't know the weapon in her possession could kill thousands.
North Gunderson knows he said the wrong things. He knows he hurt her.
But when Selah disappears off-grid with a suspected terrorist and a bioweapon that belongs to the Russian Bratva, the former Navy SEAL has one mission: find her before they do.
Even if she hates him. Even if she never forgives him. Even if it costs him everything.
Racing through a wilderness of secrets and lies, they'll have to trust each other—or die trying.
Because the man hunting Selah isn't just after the weapon. When terrorist mastermind Alan Martin discovers Selah's connection to his nemesis—the legendary operative York Newgate—she becomes the perfect pawn in a vendetta decades in the making. And Martin will destroy anyone who gets in his way.
As the body count rises and time runs out, North and Selah must face the hardest question of all: When justice demands sacrifice, can a broken warrior and a fierce humanitarian find their way back to each other?
But stopping Martin is only the beginning. What they discover will launch an epic hunt across continents—a desperate race to uncover his master plan and stop a lethal conspiracy before it's too late.
This is Book One. The hunt starts here. And it won't end until Alan Martin is stopped—for good.

I can't help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with - a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.
I've been writing as long as I can remember - I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.
Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report - a bi-monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.
Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material - and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, "Measure of a Man," in the Tyndale/HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.
Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age. My favorite fir-lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota - it's where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living. The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven series.based on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior. I have to admit - I'm terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full-length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale/Heartquest.
Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 -- and now we live in the beautiful town I'd always dreamed of! God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings -- and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.
I 'm delighted you've stopped in to visit. My hope is that you'll be blessed and encouraged by soul-stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.
I'd love to hear from you! I love getting mail, especially from readers and I welcome your questions and comments. Write to me at susan@susanmaywarren.com. I don’t know how she does it, but Warren produces books that tick off all the boxes for me. She crafts characters who struggle with issues most Christians face and zeroes in on our reactions/responses with such authenticity. Ok, so we won’t be on the run from rogue CIA operatives, but we’ll struggle with who to trust, how to live with mercy and find grace, when to surrender control, and how to walk humbly.
I love how characters from previous series make an appearance in Warren’s new series. It’s always sad to say goodbye to a character when I read other novels, but with a Warren novel, I know I’ll see them again! That’s part of the pull to this author’s stories.
I loved the high-stakes tension, the far-reaching arms of love between two of the characters, the hidden identities and the reminder that we can plan and worry, but in the end God always shows up and his plan is so much bigger than ours.
I have been waiting eagerly to read The Hunt for Alan Martin series, and Warren doesn't disappoint in this fast-paced, epic romantic suspense story. Warren reveals Alan Martin's backstory through flashbacks in North, and readers will understand why he went rogue and is bent on wrecking as much damage as possible. It was great seeing characters from her past series appear in North as the hunt for Alan begins. Looking forward to East.
Wow. I picked this book up and couldn’t stop until it was done. I love no spice Christian romantic suspense and this one blew my mind. Now, I’ve read almost everything that Warren has written, and I’ve been waiting through SO many series for Alan Martin to FINALLY be taken down for good! So, I had high hopes and expectations for this book. And I was floored. We get pieces of his history and backstory! And, they always say that there is more to a villain…
This was a fast paced, high stakes, second chance romance. After North and Selah have a blow up on Mariposa Island, she runs off for a summer in Washington. When he returns to Minnesota to find her gone, he scarcely has time to process that before he learns that her train crashed and no one has heard from her. Frantically he races after her. Selah gets help from a charming stranger and the hunt is on because, as they move around and communication is spotty, her friends slowly discover she’s actually with Alan Martin.
I’m not going to give spoilers, but this book is intense and doesn’t let up. I loved seeing so many beloved characters and cannot wait for more. The romance is just kisses, intimacy level.
Wow! Wow! Wow! She does it again, yall. Susan May Warren surely knows how to keep her readers engaged and coming back over and over. I love every single book I’ve ever read by Susan. I will never not be a fan.
So glad to see alot of my favorite characters in her previous book series. So many familiar faces I was all giddy and excited to read. Now on the EAST next.
Oh, I’ve been waiting for this series for a long time! If you’ve ever read one of Susan May Warren’s books, you may have heard about a character by the name of Alan Martin. He’s been someone who has masterminded many evil events but has never been caught. Now we get a whole series with the “hunt” just for him, and we get some backstory to find out what made him go to the dark side. I love any books that Susan May Warren writes. She has an amazing way of telling a story. If it’s full of drama, suspense, and action, hers are over the top! You will never go wrong picking up one of her books. They will leave you wanting more, because you are in her world and can’t get out of it. In this story, there is non-stop action, romance, drama, running for their lives, shootings, suspense, and so much more! She also brings many of her past characters into the story, and we see what’s happening in their lives. Susan May Warren has the most fantastic way of weaving stories together and drawing us in with all the vivid word pictures she paints. She also has a beautiful way of speaking truth to our souls, and she brings us God’s life lessons through her characters. She is one of my favorite authors. Whatever Ms. Warren writes, I’ll read because I know I’ll be captivated and blessed in a way that is life-changing. I highly recommend you pick up this new book.
I have been waiting for this series for SEVEN years! The search for Alan Martin has taken us readers all over the world and I have loved every second of it.
Susan is a master storyteller and her stories never fail to inspire, captivate and have me on the edge of my seat for a resolution where the good guys win!
North and Selah have been a couple that has shown up before. I loved seeing them upgraded to Main Characters and they are the perfect couple to kick off this hunt for justice!
Selah is definitely the humanitarian and while she is a bit naive, the amount of love, determination and care she exhibits is inspiring! North is the muscle, the warrior with a huge sense of justice. I love a good protective hero and North is that and more!
This book was fast paced, exciting, suspenseful...all the best elements and I cannot wait for the next one!
I absolutely loved this story. Getting to see Susan May Warren pull back the curtain on Alan Martin and his story and all the characters he's impacted throughout her various series is so exciting! She does an excellent job of interweaving (as is her typical fashion). There is so much to this story. If you are a Warren fan you will not be disappointed. My only complaint is it's too short! LOL! Honestly though with all that's happening this is the perfect length to keep reads from getting lost in the fray. I am so excited for the entire series to be released. I ordered this from the SMW store which provides access before anyone else. It's totally worth the investment.
North and Selah's story. (Jake, Selah, Chloe are siblings) I agree Alan Martin and his aliases needed his story to come to completion, so he isn't the continuing nemesis to all Susie's future stories. However, I'd like Roy's and Ziggy's story as well?? Characters from past series came through, Logan and Ham's teams, and even further back David from the early Russian series that have had titles changed in the reprint.
Marshall's ranch in Montana was a revisit. (Grandchildren, Frazer plus Knox who lives near by.) Thankfully, we get to know the Alan Marshall story also, maybe why he is used and can he be turned back? Travel to the next story with Skeet.
I highly recommend this fast paced suspense book. The hunt for Alan Martin has begun in earnest with this story. One warning: start the book early enough you can finish the book without losing sleep because you will not want to put it down. We learn more of Alan Martin’s past throughout the story. Danger seems to follow closely from the very first chapter to the last. Past characters who have been embroiled with Martin in many other books are helping out with the chase. Will North and Selah be the ones to bring him down? Read the book for yourselves to know the answer.
I enjoyed this story but feel like there could have been a few more details. I understand this was a book that ties in to a few different series by this author but it felt like a preview a lot of the time. When I realized I was 73% of the way through the story I felt like there should be far more to it. I understand writing a series where the books connect but this one didn't feel like much of a resolution. Also, when Selah and North finally had their heart to heart discussion some of the things she said felt like they came out of nowhere. I feel like that could have been woven earlier into the story so it felt more genuine.
North is yet another explosive offering by Susan May Warren. I always love catching up with friends from previous books, and this one was packed with them. I love North's drive to protect those close to him, especially Selah. And Selah's heart for those less fortunate is so sweet. They're perfect for each other.
I've been waiting for ages for someone to catch Alan Martin, so I'm excited to be along on the ride. Warren worked some kind of magic, showing his backstory so we feel empathy for his past, but I still want to see him brought to justice.
I’ve now read a few of Susan May Warren’s books. I love how the plot just pulls you in and doesn’t let go. In this book, the reader hits the ground running and barely gets a chance to breathe as you follow the MCs on their journey. From hardship and misunderstanding, they work through all the struggles relying on each other and keeping faith in God. Clean, edge-of-your-seat suspense romance I’d highly recommend.
I don't know how she keeps doing it but each book is better. How does she keep all the characters straight? This is not bedtime reading. So Intense and yet filled with amazing faith. The struggles are up to date in our world today. Looking forward world the capture of this terrorist.
Full of action, intrigue and an enemy that will stop at nothing for revenge. This action packed first installment in the Hunt for Alan Martin will keep you turning the pages from the minute you open the book. Another winner by the masterful storyteller Susan May Warren
Oh my! 😳 The Hunt for Alan Martin is off to an amazing start! Edge-of-your-seat suspense, sweet romance, beautiful spiritual truths...all of that along with the appearance of old friends from previous Susie May novels...this book has it all! I couldn't put it down! And I can't wait for book 2!
Finally the Alan Martin series! And a great start, with some classic characters returning for the action, and a peak into Alan’s “villain origin story”. An excellent read and leaves us hanging for the next book!
This Book!!! I have loved every time that North and Selah entered the page in the past, but giving them their own book was genius! I loved getting to know them better as well as ready more about their story. Fast paced, thrilling, and absolutely wonderful - 10/10 recommend.
What a wonderful beginning to a9 perfect Christian thriller. I highly recommend it and you won't be disappointed. Susan is one of my favorite Christian fiction author. Each book is dynamic.
I can’t wait for them to catch Alan Martin, he has been on the run for too long and he deserves his comeuppance. Great characters, great intrigue, another home run for Susie!
So exciting - finally the hunt is on! Loved the characters and storyline to get this series started! So fun to have other characters back from previous series - it's like a family reunion in many of Susan's stories! The books in this series can't come out quick enough!
Finding out Alan Martin's backstory was enlightening to say the least. Now I'm going back to read his progress through several different series by Susie May.
