She's chasing the story that could save thousands. He's the only one who can save her.

Investigative journalist Chloe Silver has spent three months in the jungles of Myanmar documenting what she believes is the story of her career. Children are dying. Families are being systematically poisoned. And the evidence points to something far more sinister than contaminated water or disease.

Someone is testing a bioweapon. And Chloe has the proof.

But when she discovers the conspiracy reaches beyond remote villages to a global network of terrorists, she realizes she's stumbled into something deadly. Terrorist mastermind Alan Martin doesn't just want her silenced—he wants her dead.

Because Chloe is Selah Silver's twin sister. And that connection makes her a perfect pawn in his revenge.

Easton "Skeet" Blackwood is a Black Swan operative with a extract Chloe before Martin finds her.
But the brilliant, fearless journalist has no intention of being rescued. She's on the trail of truth, and nothing—not even an undercover operative with a protective streak and a smile that makes her forget to breathe—will stop her from exposing the plot.

The problem? Alan Martin is always one step ahead. And this time, he's not just hunting—he's setting a trap.

When Skeet proposes they go undercover as honeymooners to infiltrate a medical conference where the bioweapon is being sold, Chloe agrees. It's the perfect cover. Professional. Strategic. Completely fake.

Except the feelings aren't fake anymore. And neither is the danger.

Racing through the jungles of Thailand and the streets of Sicily, they'll have to trust each other—or watch thousands die.

Because Alan Martin's bioweapon isn't just ready—it's about to go global. The aerosolized poison that's been tested on villages can now be deployed anywhere. In crowds. In ventilation systems. In cities where millions could die with a single breath.

And the only people standing between Martin and mass murder are a journalist who's learned that courage gets people killed, and an operative haunted by a mission that went wrong the last time he cared too much.

When the hunter becomes the hunted, can they stop a conspiracy before it's too late? Or will the story that could save thousands cost them everything?

I can't help be amazed at the gifts God has delighted me with - a wonderful husband, four amazing children, and the opportunity to write for Him.

I've been writing as long as I can remember - I won my first book writing contest in first grade! Over the years, writing has become, for me, a way to praise God and see Him at work in my life.

Although I have a degree in Mass Communications from the University of MN, my real writing experience started when I penned the The Warren Report - a bi-monthly newsletter that detailed our ministry highlights.

Living in Russia meant I never lacked for great material - and those experiences naturally spilled out first into devotionals and magazine articles and finally into my first published story, "Measure of a Man," in the Tyndale/HeartQuest, Chance Encounters of the Heart anthology.

Susan and husbandI grew up in Wayzata, a suburb of Minneapolis, and became an avid camper from an early age. My favorite fir-lined spot is the north shore of Minnesota - it's where I met my husband, honeymooned and dreamed of living. The north woods easily became the foundation for my first series, The Deep Haven series.based on a little tourist town along the shores of Lake Superior. I have to admit - I'm terribly jealous of Mona, the heroine of my first full-length book, Happily Ever After, a Christy Award Finalist published in 2004 with Tyndale/Heartquest.

Our family moved home from the mission field in June 2004 -- and now we live in the beautiful town I'd always dreamed of! God has amazed me anew with His provision, and blessings -- and allowed me a season when I can write full time for Him.

I 'm delighted you've stopped in to visit. My hope is that you'll be blessed and encouraged by soul-stirring stories of regular people interacting with a God who loves them.

I'd love to hear from you! I love getting mail, especially from readers and I welcome your questions and comments. Write to me at susan@susanmaywarren.com. And, if you're interested, sign up for my newsletter, a quarterly sneak peek into upcoming releases and projects. Thank you for your interest and support.

God Bless and Happy Reading!

Book two, EAST is a wild ride in Thailand. Where the story picks up with Selah’s twin sister, Chloe Silver works as journalist and always travels to get the story. Now she’s in Thailand trying to get the story about bioweapon plot and why so many children are dying . She doesn’t believe it’s just from natural causes either. Something more sinister is here at play. Terrorist, Alan Martin is back and he is pretty much at the helm of this systemic crisis. Easton “Skeet” Blackwood is a Jones Inc operative who is in a mission to save Chloe from herself and bring her home. But the plans go awry when they pose as newlyweds in the jungles of Thailand. I couldn’t put this book down & didn’t want it to end.

Another whirlwind romance in the midst of chaos. My favorite kind!

Skeet & Chloe were quite the winning team. I loved both of their determination to care for and save as many people as possible. They both have warrior spirits and justice driven hearts. Even when the best of their intentions puts them both in danger.

One thing that was very unique about this book was that both main characters still struggle to accept their faith. Usually, one character has a strong heart of faith and the other is struggling. I liked how Skeet and Chloe were both figuring it out together. And when push came to shove, they both realized that they are stronger with God on their side than they are without Him.

It's always great to see the Jones, Inc team back on the case too. And I am looking forward to the next half of this hunt and, hopefully, to seeing more familiar faces as this journey draws to a close.

One complaint I do have was Susan making me feel empathy for Alan Martin. For seven years, this guy has been the cold hearted bad guy. Now he's more human. Nevertheless, I still want him caught and this whole adventure to come to a just victory for our heroes!

The next book cannot come soon enough!

Susan May Warren has done it again!! EAST was written full of danger, intrigue, love and a huge mix of fear and eventually, love. Easton faces life with confidence -- full of integrity and experience as an Ex-Navy Seal. Chloe Silver is an Investigative Journalist living story to story, chasing dangerous leads and building contacts. When a story blows up, she's finding there can be calm within the storm. Warren has written an amazing story built on hope, faith and a little love. I give this story 5 out of 5 stars for keeping me engaged from beginning to end.

From Thailand to Myanmar to Sicily, what a wild adventure EAST was. Chloe Silver, an investigative journalist, is chasing a story and is rescued by Easton "Skeet" Blackwell, a Jones Inc. operative. EAST has a fake honeymoon, suspense, characters development, and faith elements. Sparks fly between Chloe and Skeet. We also get to see more of Alan Martin's story unfold. I can't wait for SOUTH.

Two strong-willed, determined minds. One is independent and always running into trouble, the other is a mega-protector, no matter what the cost.
In this next book in the Hunt for Alan Martin series, we get to know East/Skeet and Chloe more. Both struggle with trust and their faith in God as life gets a little bit crazy.
They are taken on some pretty interesting adventures, and they have to learn to lean on each other and God to survive.
We also get more of Alan Martin’s story and start to understand what made him the evil nemesis that he is. At times, I feel sorry for him, but then I remember what he’s done. Nope, not sorry!
Susan May Warren truly writes amazing stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat and reading way past your bedtime!
Her books are full of suspense, non-stop action, and drama, plus bits of romance thrown in. You will never go wrong picking up one of her books. They will leave you wanting more, because you are in her world and can’t get out of it.
Susan May Warren has the most fantastic way of weaving stories together and drawing us in with all the vivid word pictures she paints. She also has a beautiful way of speaking truth to our souls, and she brings us God’s life lessons through her characters.
She is one of my favorite authors. Whatever Ms. Warren writes, I’ll read because I know I’ll be captivated and blessed in a way that is life-changing.
I highly recommend you pick up this new book.

Easter read with interruptions.
Chloe and Easton's (Skeet) story, setting south east Asia. (An area where our church helps a mission work with children on the borders mentioned in the story.)
Silver siblings, Jake and twins Selah and Chloe. The writer tells us more about the circumstances of the Silver family dynamics.
East and Chloe have an interesting development in the story.
Alan Martin with his many aliases has a complex story that will continue as a thread in the next 2 books.

South's story comes to Australia. (I will be interested to see how Susie has woven my country in this hunt? I believe Susie's in New Zealand gathering research at present. I pray her journey doesn't get hijacked by the fuel crisis.)

This story followed on well from the first one. We got some more of Alan’s backstory. Chloe was chasing a dangerous story when Skeet came to the rescue. Of course the situation was way bigger than they initially thought, and they needed the rest of the team’s assistance. There was plenty of action and suspense, character development, some faith elements, and two people learning that leaning on God and each other made them stronger than doing everything their own way. The ending of this story led straight into South, which promises to continue the danger and excitement.

East

Mrs Warren has brought us another book full of danger and suspense. Skeet or “East”, has been sent to Thailand to find and extract investigative journalist Chloe Silver. Chloe is tracking a story that pulls her deep into the crosshairs of dangerous men; one of which is the notorious Allen Martin. Chloe does not give up, even when it gets difficult. Will they be able to escape? I highly recommend you read the book to find the answer.

Romantic Intrigue

Loved this book! I actually felt like I was in this story and Susan Warren used such exciting words to describe the sights & sounds that made me feel like I was there & the way she described the food & the beautiful terrain of this southeastern country. Looking forward to the next book!

I really enjoyed seeing behind the curtain of Alan Martin. There were lots of tie-ins to past books, with flashbacks that filled in gaps you may not have even realized were there in previous plot lines. All the while, we learn more about characters who had previously been on the periphery. I wasn’t ready for it to be over when it ended—August feels a long way away.

East

I have always enjoyed Susan May Warren’s series and this one is no different. East and Chloe butt heads from the get go, neither ready to be still.
Alan Martin, well we’ll continue to wait for him an his evilness or is it misunderstanding? Either way, this is an enjoyable book and I look forward to the next.

East and Chloe have the love story that you know they are going to fall for each other but the way Susan writes it is perfect! I have been invested in Alan’s story for a while and I cannot wait to see how it evolves and ends. I cannot wait for South to come out!

And the story continues

Alan Martin's story is sad. And it shows how good men can change.
our world is a scary place and these books could cause sleepless nights.
But the suspense and romance are so worth it!
I can't wait for the next one in the series.

Chloe and Easton's relationship has dramatic ups and downs. Thoroughly entertaining.

My heart hurts for Alan Martin with every new tidbit of his back story. He's by no means innocent but was purposefully molded into who he has become.

East

I already know these stories are going to hurt my heart. You’re under cover and you can’t let your true feelings show. How can you separate self from your job so you can on with your life? That takes a special person to do that. Enjoy

East was such a fun ride! I felt as if I was right there in Thailand along side these so-easy-to-root-for characters! So many highlight worthy exchanges. Loved getting more of the Silver family’s history and can’t wait to see where this series takes us next.

So good! SMW is one of my very favorite authors. I don’t want to feel bad for the villain after hating him in all of his prior appearances in her novels, but Susan just is so good at romance and breaking hearts. (Also - putting hearts back together.). Go back to the beginning and read every book connected to this one and you will be instantly drawn in to this universe. The correct order is in her website, I think.

Absolutely loved this book!

I absolutely loved East! Skeet and Chloe’s story was full of danger, suspense and heartfelt emotion. I also really love the backstory of Alan Martin being interwoven in this series. I find myself rooting for him to turn good by the end of the series. Can’t wait to see where Susan leads Alan’s story in the end!
