Grade level: Preschool-2nd grade
This book is a ABC book about insects that live in our environment. This book is perfect for students that are interested in insects and nature around them. This book could also be good for students to learn new words. This book is a great jumping off point for students who want to become naturalists. This could be used to explore what insects are flying around in spring. This could also be used as a read aloud book.

1. Awards the book has received (if any):
2. Appropriate grade level(s): Pre-school and up
3. Original 3-line summary: This creepy, crawly book helps children learn the alphabet by learning about 26 different insects from an Aphid to a Zebra Caterpillar. These insects each start with a letter of the alphabet and to go along with each one are illustrations, fun facts, and rhymes. Learning the alphabet while learning about nature is an awesome opportunity.
4. Original 3-line review: I thought this book was really interesting, especially since I love science and nature! Not only does it teach the students the alphabet but they're learning so much more than just letters and expand to fun facts and rhyming. This book would be awesome in a science lesson!
5. 2-3 possible in-class uses: Science lesson about different insects, understanding informational writing by analyzing the fun facts, and learning the alphabet

Expand your knowledge of the insect world and practice your ABCs at the same time. This picture book has the potential to keep kids engaged for hours. There is an insect (aka bug) for every letter of the alphabet. Even the letter X! Short rhyming verse and illustrations introduce kids to insects they are familiar with and some unusual ones, too. Travel through the alphabet and learn about bugs along the way. The book also includes a CD with read-along and song material.

Ironically this is an alphabet book which descriptions of insects are more appropriate for school-age children rather than older toddlers/pre-K who are just learning the alphabet.
