99% of bikers obey the law. The other 1% make their own...

Eighteen-year-old Tienne Desrochers grew up in the rough world of the Noir et Bleu. Bikers. Outlaws. But after her dad's murder, Tienne decides she's had enough. She refuses to end up like her junkie mom. So she grabs her younger brother and leaves it all behind...including her boyfriend, Aiden Gyllenhall.

More comfortable in the middle of a bar fight than at a country club, living with her wealthy aunt and uncle is an adjustment, to say the least. No swearing. Designer shoes that pinch. And pretty, preppy boys like Leland Crofton instead of super-sexy, tattooed Aiden. But even the upper class can't escape the rancid touch of underworld violence. And this time, Tienne won't just learn who she really is—she'll learn how to fight for what's hers.

This is so not MC book.
It's more teen angst melodrama. I didn't want to read that.

5 reasons why I didn't like One Percenter:

1. The story. After reading book summary I was sure that I might like it. And then I started reading it. Whole thing is completely unbelievable and full of plot holes. Eighteen years old girl finds herself on the crossroads between her old life with dangerous Noir et Bleu Motorcycle Club and new one with the social elite and country club parties. Sounds good, right? Unfortunately, poor world building and lack of secondary characters development made One Percenter big failure.

2. Main female character. Tienne Desrochers suffers from Jenny from the Block syndrome. You do remember that song? J.Lo posing like girl from the hood despite all her money and fame? *snorts* Yeah, right... Well, Tienne has the same problem - she believes that she is much more important than she actually is.

3. Love triangle. Just horrible! It was like reading Avoiding Commitment by K.A. Linde all over again.

4. I didn't feel any chemistry between characters.

5. It was rushed from the beginning to the end.

This is just my opinion, so maybe you will like it more than I did. It just that I don't have patience for teenage drama queens.

Happy reading,

"We can't change where we came from, but we can choose the life we want to live."

Tienne is sick of the life she has been given, the final straw came the day they buried her dad, leaving her mom behind she takes her sixteen year old brother, Cooper to start a new life in the high class side of town. Living with her Aunt and Uncle is the exact opposite of the life she lived with her parents, never having nothing to worry about, having everything you need at your disposal... So why does she feel out of place, why can't she embrace her new life and forget about her old. She doesn't want to turn out life her mom and dad, and a life with Aidenis where they will be headed, so even though it rips her heart apart to do she turns her back on the man she loves most. But as they say the grass is always greener on the other side.

One Percenter, I had high hopes for, intrigued by the description of finding your place in the world and standing up and fighting for what you want. Sadly it wasn't as I expected, Tienne was so resentful for her life and all the wrongs she thought were done, acting more like a spoiled little girl than a daughter of an MC. Her choices and decisions drove me batty, not understanding why she was putting everyone through it all. The ones who made the story for me was Aiden and Cooper. I generally am all about an alpha man, but these two pulled at my heart and made me fall in love with them. Cooper was such a gentle soul, and acted older than his own sister. Aiden was a faithful-ever-present-devoted, just waiting in the wings putting plans into motion and never stopped loving her, no matter what she did and who she moved on with.

There was a part in the book, where I thought Ti would change for the better, but after that day she went back to being her resentful self. This is a standalone, fade-to-black, kind of read, where we see second chances in life and love and reminder that things are not always greener on the other side.

This is all my own opinion on how the book and characters made me feel, it has nothing to do with the author's style or skill, it was just one of those I wished I loved more than liked. I am still interested in checking out what else the author has in store for us, this story however wasn't for me.

My Rating: 4½☆

As a fan of motorcycle romances, I was excited to read my first one for 2015. Before I begin my review let me say two things. First, I read the book straight through because I couldn't put it down. The story keep my attention from the beginning right up until the explosive ending. Second, I want to provide a word of caution to future readers. Suspend what you think you know about motorcycle romances, specifically one percenters. This book will totally blow that preconceived notion out of the water ... in a good way!

One Percenter contained a depth that a good amount of new adult romances miss the mark on. However, Graham created unique characters with a very colorful background from Tienne, to Connor, to Leland, to Aiden (aka Gylly). There is so much happening in the story that you don't want to blink or you'll miss it.

After leaving the motorcycle lifestyle after the violent death of her father. Eighteen year old Tienne takes her brother Connor to live with her aunt and uncle. Although her mother is still quite alive she is a junkie who often forgets that she has children, leaving Tienne to fend for herself and her brother. Tienne is a biker girl through and through although she has aspirations of being more -- an actress even. She feels that her affluent aunt and uncle's connections can help her travel in influential circles that the biker life would never afford her. Dressed up and shiny in new "rich" clothes, Tienne's heart still belongs to the love of her life, Aiden, the son of the Noir et Bleu MC president. Aiden is a sexy biker who has loved Tienne since they were children. He is caring, considerate, loving and not afraid to tell her or show her. But he is a biker and everything Tienne should not want in her life. But on the day of her official society introduction, Aiden comes roaring into the club where the party is being held with a gift for Tienne. Curious about what it is since it isn't her birthday or an anniversary for them she is rocked to her core when she sees the beautiful diamond engagement ring Aiden presents to her. Touched beyond measure, Tienne lets Aiden knows that she loves him but cannot marry him until she is able to go to college and be a bit...more. Although Aiden is not happy he concedes but vows that his love for her will never change and that he will always be waiting for her.
Now, at this point, let me just stop and say that Aiden more that honors that vow throughout the story. The things that he endures while waiting for Tienne break my heart but totally make me wish I could clone him :).
After Aiden leaves, Tienne rejoins the party only to reaffirm that it truly is not her scene. She swipes some liquor from the bar and goes outside to have a moment alone...or so she thinks. While outside, Tienne catches a whiff of weed blowing in the wind. When she discovers the source, she is pretty surprised to see that it is the handsome young man who was making eyes at her inside the party. Leland is cultured (weed smoking, notwithstanding), rich, and everything Aiden is not. But her heart is staunchly with Aiden and she doesn't give Leland another thought. Well, that is until later that evening when she goes to Aiden's house and discovers that his ex-girlfriend is sitting in his living room after he tries to hide the knowledge from her. Heartbroken and hurt, Tienne tells Aiden that they are through and storm away.
My inner monologue was really thinking that Tienne was looking for a reason to break up with Aiden because she so desperately wanted to be different from her mother which meant not being tied to a biker. Although she loved Aiden, her minds eye saw him as her father and her as her mother and she didn't want that so she used a totally benign and innocent "infraction" to create a rift between them.
I won't recap the entire story for you because I would be woefully inadequate in doing any synopsis justice. I definitely recommend allocating a few hours to read and enjoy it. But I will say that Tienne does indeed begin to date Leland although she keeps him at an arms length distance at first. As she begins to lower her guard with him, Aiden makes it painfully clear that he is not just going to step aside and let another man have the woman he loves. He's definitely not in Tienne's face all the time but he lets her know that he is watching her. At about 65% into the story, after she has decided to fully give Leland a chance, a tragedy happens that leaves even me speechless. I was hoping beyond hope that what I thought didn't happen but when it was confirmed I actually cried a bit. It was devastating for Tienne and Leland, who she had now claimed as boyfriend, was nowhere around. But Aiden was. A silent century letting her know that she was there if she needed him.
I personally fell in love with Aiden a little bit more when he did what he did for Tienne even after she virtually ignored him and completely removed herself from his life.
The tragedy brings Tienne revelations about her family -- her father and mother -- and Leland. Each revelation is like a physical blow for her and she just isn't sure what's up and what's down. And through all of it ... Aiden. He let's her process ever detail and provides his support however Tienne needs it. Through all of this, Tienne realizes that Aiden is the only man who will ever hold her heart. But it's not that easy. In order to make a clean break she has to confront Leland and everything connected to him that he brought into her life. And by everything, I mean...EVERYTHING. Remember I said how Tienne was a biker girl through and through? Well at the end of the story she does something that even makes the battle hardened bikers proud.
Tienne is no shrinking violent and I love the fact that she was sassy and strong and absolutely saved herself and gained retribution for a loss when it came down to it. She wasn't afraid or willing to let the men in her life make things right for her. Absolutely not! She did it herself and with such impressive flair.
I highly recommend One Percenter for anyone who loves a contemporary, new adult romance, with a little biker flair thrown in for good measure. And for the readers who might see a love triangle red flag in my review, there is not one. There is no vying or battling for Tienne's attention among the men. They are aware of one another but the conflict only occurs with Tienne as she tries to suppress her feelings for Aiden and embrace, what she thinks will be, a promising future with Leland (or at least someone like him). Fortunately for her, Tienne comes to her senses and recognizes that Aiden is her one true love. Hallelujah! because he is totally book boyfriend material *sigh*. Good read, this one!

2,5 Stars.
I started it, i finished it and even thought the plot wasn't exactly what i thought it would be,-or frankly, what was implied by the synopsis- in the end, it was an ok read, i guess.

Yes, the story-line has huge holes in it and the reader doesn't get the feeling of a biker book, it's rushed, over-dramatic, with underdeveloped characters and a heroine that is as likeable as a colonoscopy and absolutely sure of herself being a type of a warrior princess.

Ok, yeah you got me. I didn't like it much! Tinnie is a bad lead in my opinion, she is too self involved, with no regard for anyone else except herself, and let's face it: she wanted to live the glamorous life not just a safer one.

That's what pissed me off the most. To be fair she has a few good traits but they lose their appeal quickly enough. The reason why i only talk about Tinnie is because there is no male lead. Gylly or Aiden if you will -his real name- is a tiny spot in this girl's life. Let's not mistake it for a contemporary romance, this book is a girl's story and not a very good one for that matter.

All in all, an intriguing thought that didn't work out, at least not for me. The execution was mediocre and the writing was good but not sufficient. Maybe the next one in the series will be better.

THOUGHTS ABOUT THE BOOK

- That girl made some bad, bad decisions. Bad!
- I loved Cooper so much, he was the only worthy hero in this story. So sweet and gentle. Mature and almost wise in a way.
- Oh yes, and Aiden, he was a great, loyal and considerate boyfriend and he had the strength to make it, no matter what kind of nonsense Tinnie put him through.
- The funereal and the story she recites, just heartbreaking.
- The MC life wasn't described very accurately.
- I liked the story with her dad and his cut.
- It has some depth as a story, but at the same time it feels too forced.

This book pulled me out of my book slump! <3 I'd give it 10 stars, just for the tension and emotion it packed. I loved how completely and utterly devoted Gylly was to Tienne <3

For the first time in a while I actually liked the heroine. She was crazy, flawed, had anger management issues and a bad case of trying to avoid actually talking about issues.

There was a love triangle going on, and what I really liked is that the author made Leland a valid option. He had so much charm at the beginning and his banter with Tienne had me laughing :)

I also liked how the high society people weren't presented as some monsters just because they're rich, or in a country club. So many times I've read books with such shallow characterization where you have rich, evil, snobby socialites who are horrible for no reason. Here, the country club people have as many shades as the biker world.

The tension of waiting for a confrontation between Leland and Gylly was killing me! I was on pins and needles when they were close to each other ha ha! Heart-raising without going for cheap moves. Gylly's jealous texts made me purr in my armchair haha! So sexy ;)

This book had only one thing missing, but it was still not enough to make me deduct even half a star from the book, since I had SO much fun reading it. I missed more sex :< I'm a sucker for erotic romance and hot steamy action, so it was a shame that there wasn't even one sex scene. Gylly was SO hot, so I wish I could have seen him in actioN :P

One Percenter was one of those books that was just okay with me. When I first read the blurb, it sounded so intriguing and I wanted to read it but as I was reading along, I couldn't find myself connecting to the heroine, Tienne. Her personality didn't click with me but luckily I was more drawn to Aiden and Cooper. I think those two men were the reason why I continued to finish reading this book. One Percenter was definitely a coming of age story of finding yourself through second chances at life and love.
Though this book was not my favorite, I did enjoy the author's writing style and storytelling so I am still interested in checking out more of the author's work.

This book is a new take on biker romance from the perspective of a true to the bone biker babe. Tienne knows that after her father is murdered she doesn't want the biker life style for her or her brother Cooper. After spending most of her life protecting her brother from their junkie mother she knows that going to live with their effluent aunt and uncle will be the best chance that her and Cooper have. Unfortunately, leaving behind that life style also means leaving being Aiden. The bad boy biker that has loved her and been there for her her whole life. But in order to make the changes is her life that she needs away from the club life she decides to leave him.

Watching from afar is exactly what Aiden will have to do in order to keep Tienne safe. But watching her start to date another man is the ultimate pain. Aiden knows that she deserves better than the club life that he is destined to lead. With his dad the International President of the club he knows that he'll have to do something desperate in order to change his life if he wants to have any chance of winning back Tienne.

I absolutely loved this book. The relationship between Aiden and Tienne was so powerful and compelling. Tienne was a bad ass who knew what she wanted and would do anything to get it. While Aiden was such a sweet but strong Alpha who was willing to torture himself if it meant making Tienne happy. I really wished that I could clone Aiden so that I could have my own version of him.

This book will take you from high to low and make you not want it to end. Its a wild ride that I will not soon forget. Aiden and Tienne's passion and love for each other is epic and everlasting. I seriously hope that this book turns into a series and that we get to see Mickey's story next. If you only read one book this week I highly suggest picking this one up.

I loved this book, and I especially love DR Graham's style of writing. Her books are not fluffy romances, but rather complicated, heart-wrenching journeys into the not-so-obvious sides of love. One Percenter is about a strong well-drawn female character, Tienne, who is trying her best to make the move from the wrong side of the tracks to the right side. But it is not easy, to say the least, and if she didn't care so much for her brother, Cooper, I don't know if she could have stuck with it so long.

I especially love characters who are motivated by a sibling, and Tienne and Cooper's relationship grabbed at my heart probably as much or more than the romance in this book. With such well-drawn, complicated family dynamics, I was taken into the underbelly of a brand new world that I otherwise never would have experienced.

For YA and NA fans of complicated, not-easy-to-solve romances, this is a book (and an author) not to be missed!

WOW!!!!!!

I don't even know where to start with this one other than to say that I was completely blown out of the water by how fabulous this book was!

Now I went into this book completely blind as I typically don't read the synopsis on a book and prefer to go in blind. Honestly I think that just made this whole experience so much better. I had no idea what to expect so every little thing was a great surprise.

Again I also feel the need to point out that typically I prefer to read my romance with a heavy side of smut and that was one thing that wasn't served with this story. That being said it absolutely in no way needed it and honestly I probably preferred it without all that added sexy time, because truth be told you really didn't need any sex at all for this to be smoking hot.

This whole story has been a complete breath of fresh air and will leave you hanging on every word written. It was unique and fresh and flowed so smoothly that I didn't even realize that I had been up almost all night reading.

The relationship between Ti and Aiden is so gorgeous that when they weren't together I wanted to shake my kindle and yell at it. It is just such an amazingly real love between the two that will leave you praying you find your own Gylly.

If you like books such as Poughkeepsie that are not your typical romance novels than you will devour One Percenter.

By far this story has made my top 10 all time favorite reads and I cannot wait to see what else this talented Author has in store for us.

Pleasantly surprised 4.5 stars

I rarely read MC books but I was looking to read something different and I am pleased I did. While there is some romance much of the book revolves around a family tragedy an what happens when half your family is MCs and the other half is “respectful society” I don’t give spoilers but the h is feisty, her family loving even if it is not expressed. I think I will read more from the Black and Blue MC club

Loved!!! Review up soon

Bikers, romance, sexy bad boy and mystery? What's not to love about a book that contains all of that? Dark and edgy, this book blew me away. The characters were amazingly written and complex, even though Tienne had her annoying moments (I'll get to that later), I was pretty impressed.

This type of romance isn't what I'm typically into- I'm more a hearts and flowers, fluffy romance, type of girl- but the edginess of this book, the dark romance, the story-line, everything, just appealed to me. I struggled to put it down. The fact that Tienne's motivation was wanting to give her brother a better life, spoke to me and it told me a lot about Tienne's character. The sibling relationship between Tienne and Cooper was perfect and in an effort to avoid spoiling the story for all of you, I have to say that my heart really broke and I vowed never to read another D.R Graham book again (of course that won't really happen).

Now on to Tienne's annoying moments. I love that she's a very strong and well-rounded character, but I felt like her flaws were too emphasized.
The way she treated Aiden when she first left the life, even though Aiden was willing to stay by her side through everything and anything, well, that really pissed me off. Not only that, but she was a bit blindingly trusting when it came to the country-club boyfriend (whose name I just can't seem to recall at the moment.) I would have thought Tienne to be a bit more wary.

But aside from that, this book was gut-wrenching, heart-breakingly beautiful. D.R Graham is really talented when crafting a story, from the way she sets a scene, to the way she pours feeling into all her words. I highly recommend this book.

I have just got around to reading this. I'm not much into MC bikers romance, but this isn't a romance as such.

Although there is love......
Its more full of life, tragedy and a wonderful element of reality.

Is Tienne a hard nut just because she was brought up in a life full of Bikers, Family outlaw, morals of life only they follow?
Or

Does Tienne have a soft side.

YES yes she does have soft side and we see this in the way she is with the fact she still pines for Aiden.

There is not love triangle here in this story, although there is another guy, no one is fighting for her love and affection.

The rough world she has come from makes her the girl she is today.

When her and her brother go leave and live with her wealthy aunt, what a different life they find themselves in.....to say the least.

D R Graham did a wonderful job with this book.

Like I say, its MORE than a biker MC book, it has substance, its GREAT!

Thoroughly enjoyed this for a change from my usual reading matter.

This was the tamest biker book I've ever read, but that wasn't bad at all. it dealt with the children of bikers, which was really cool because of the profound effect that lifestyle can have on those you love.

I loved Tienne! She was spunky and funny and she would do anything for her younger brother. She wanted to make something of her life and was willing to do what it takes to make that happen, even if it meant cutting people out of her life that she loved but that were bringing her down.

I did find that Tienne wanted too much of those around her sometimes. Just being there for her wasn't enough, you had to provide support that was up to her extremely high standards. This was likely because she knew what she wanted and was always looking for signs to validate her decisions.

Beyond that, the supporting characters were amazing and I really enjoyed the story. I was invested in the story and cried hard during the eulogy Tienne gave. I definitely recommend this!

However, I'm going to give this 4.5 stars because Tienne was slightly unreasonable at times.

Ti I loved that girl she was bada** she stood up for herself no matter who she was up against, "I freaked out because you were trying to hide the fact that you have a wh*** at your house on a night when you didn't expect me to come over." Aiden I was team him all through the book although I enjoyed Leland, "so if I do the math and divide the one year he waited by three to account for your age now, that equals four months. Then we halve it because it's not your first time. That equals two months." He grins at me, proud of his negotiation skills. "We're not rushing anything. We're good to go." But Aiden I kept hoping Ti and him would pull their heads out of their a**es and work s*** out and I'm so glad how it turned out. I loved the chemistry Ti and Aiden had:
"If you break that promise I will stab out."
He pats my leg. "You might need to get your anger management problem treated by a professional."
I really enjoyed this book.

While most books make my heart ache for the characters as I read further along, One Percenter, made me sad for both Tienne and Aiden from the very beginning. Readers can not help but want the two to come together and succeed.

This new adult novel was such a realistic account of children born into the life of parents who make poor choices and living the life of illegal activity. The harsh realities gang member's children have to endure is well written by D.R. Graham.

D.R. Graham is able to capture the readers attention from the very beginning to the very end. I did not stop reading this book until I was finished...can't wait to read more.

I loved this book. I haven't read a bunch of MC books by any stretch of the imagination. This one rocked. Tienne, the daughter of a MC member, killed by another biker, knows that to survive and not end up like her mother, she has to leave the life, and the guy she loves. She's a total badass and tried to protect those she cares about. I loved this. Big time. I LOVE too that she found her own way out of the predicament she finds herself in, and orchestrates the bad-guy's take down herself. A must-read.

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from the author/publisher for an honest review.

I think I'm going to be the rare reader who didn't really get into this book (ironically, the 1%?). I may not be the right audience for this as it felt more of a new adult genre. I read a lot of that particular genre, but this one didn't connect with me (I'm 39). I also thought there would be more of a MC presence. It's part of the heroine's life, but more in the background for the majority of the book.

Once we get to the last portion of the book the MC becomes more of the plot. Interestingly, that's when I started getting more enthralled with the story line. This was about 60%+ into the book and also when . The last portion of the book I really liked how Tienne went ninja on people messing with her. Earlier in the book her attitude confused me, but probably because I didn't understand at the point why and what drove her to where she made her life change (with the uncle/aunt). Another part of the story I liked was her relationship with her brother. In fact, I liked how everyone liked her brother (and Sam) and respected them. And of course, the climax of the story broke me up. I pretty much saw it coming but in no way did that bother me. If anything, the build up made it sadder.

Unfortunately, I was frustrated with Tienne's stubbornness for the majority of the book. I didn't really get why she shut Aiden out and once she explained it felt weak considering their bond. I really fell for how deeply Aiden felt for Tienne! He's swoon-worthy and I was rooting for him from the beginning. Maybe that's why it frustrated me how she turned away from him regardless how much she really did love him but knowing his deep feelings. Due to all this, Leland really irritated me and definitely came off as the stereotypical preppy boy. In the end, with Leland's outcome, it definitely was a stretch and coincidence.

Based on the title and a little bit of the description, I really thought this would be more of the usual MC story that's current in the market. I do think it's unique how the author approached this genre and centering it around two young adults who grew up in the lifestyle but want something different for their future.

I really liked the author's writing and how she expressed the character's feelings (oh, Aiden!), so I'd like to read another story by her. Again, I don't think I was quite the right audience for this book so I encourage you to give it a chance for yourself. Everyone will come away with something different.

One Percenter by D.R Graham is the first book I've actually read with a Mc theme. I don't know how I've missed the genre in honesty when I've been reading new adult books for so long, but somehow I did. This book is also the first in the new Noir et Bleu Motorcycle Club series and also the first book I've read from the author D.R Graham.

I know people have complained about the lack of the MC involvement in this book, but I felt it was just right. I got to learn about the gang, how it worked about a little about what living with the gang would be like. I admittedly was more interest in Gyll than another of the others, but that's because I like a bad boy and he seemed to fit the bill.

Tienne I didn't like at first. I felt she was a bit 'spoilt' which sounds odd when you look at her background. But I meant it in more of a 'seems to get her own way a little too much'. But then you read about why she is living with her Aunt and Uncle, about her brother (Oh my, it bought a lump to my throat!) and what she was like as a person. Then I started to like her, saw through the bull shit and the hard talking to what was really underneath.

Leland left a bad taste in my mouth from the get go, for some reason I kept imagining him as the character Hardy Genns from Some Kind of Wonderful (Old film, but a classic people! Can I add Harvey was an arsehole!) which didn't give me a high opinion of Leland at all.

There's lots of twists and turns in this book, some you will see coming, others not so much. I really enjoyed it and I loved the ride Ti took me on. I guess for some it may be too romantic and not enough sex, for others its not dirty enough with the grease and hardcore life style of Mc gangs, for me though, it was just right and I highly recommend this New Adult book - 4 stars from me.

This new adult romance takes us into the world of a motorcycle club and its effect on an 18 year old woman, Tienne, as she tries to determine what direction her life should take. She's in love with her club boyfriend Aiden but sees a future with him that she doesn't want, breaking things off to try living with her aunt and uncle in the 'normal' world. Meeting country club guy Leland seems like a step in the right direction, but when tragedy strikes, it's only a matter of time before Tienne is called back into her old life - which future path will she chose?

I really enjoyed this story! It's not my usual fare, as I tend to stick to heroines that are over 20 but from the very beginning the writing style pulled me in and I found myself invested in Tienne and her choices. Her character is really well written as a strong and determined young woman who knows that she has to change things for herself if she wants the future she is dreaming of, even if it means leaving the love of her life behind. At the same time, she is only 18 with all the insecurities and angst of a teenager, wanting to fit in with the in crowd while appearing on the outside as if she doesn't care what people think of her. She's torn by her feelings for the life she's always known and the reality of its harshness and brutality. Similarly her relationships with Leland and Aiden show all the complications of young love. Her ex-boyfriend Aiden is a real sweetheart despite Tienne's attempts to keep them separated and he's determined to wait her out in the hopes that she'll come back to him, and to try to show her that they can still have a future together. The emotions and actions of Tienne ring true and the story is a mixture of sadness and sweetness, violence and tenderness. 5 stars for an entertaining and emotional story.

This book approaches biker culture in a fresh way from the perspective of an eighteen year old who grew up with a father and three uncles who are members of an outlaw motorcycle club called the Noir et Bleu MC. It is not your typical biker romance and I liked that. In fact, besides some coarse language, it could be appropriate for mature young adult readers as well as the intended new adult audience. It focuses on Tienne's struggle to keep her brother safe and build a better future for both of them. She has to make some tough decisions, and because she is young and hasn't had any guidance, she makes some mistakes and pushes away the wrong people. The connection between Aiden and Tienne is undeniable and I loved how they both found ways to change and grow over the course of the story. If you have always wondered what it might be like to be related to outlaws and not want that life for yourself, this is the book for you.

WOW! This was a new author for me so I wasn't sure what to expect. I started reading and breathed a sigh of relief pretty quickly...great writing, good potential. A few more chapters...and I got HOOKED! Completely lost in Tienne's world, I ended up finishing the whole thing in one day. The writing was positively seamless, the story compelling, the characters relatable, the dialogue real. I was really impressed with how consistent the characters stayed to their natures despite everything that happened. This book lived up beautifully to the expectations it set up in the first few chapters. I am thrilled to have another favorite author to add to my list!

I liked it, I cried, but I'm still not 100% sure my final opinion. It's not the "bad@ss" mc book it hinted at, and it's more of a rushed love triangle without you being able to really get attached to either side, but yet I did thoroughly enjoy it. The main character was angsty and convincingly 18 but strong and likeable. I just feel like we needed... more. More depth, more time to get attached, more something.

A biker book by Entangled Embrace called One Percenter? Seriously? The whole idea was so offensive, I had to try and read it. I hope an actual One Percenter kicks your ass DR Graham. Leave the MC stuff to the writers who actually know about it and stick to your tropes, Entangled.

Fantastic

This book was breathtakingly fantastic. I watch a lot of shows with MC gangs so I kinda knew what to expect but I was shocked so much!! This book was nothing like I thought it would be. Ti is a badass chick and Aiden OMG 😍😍. I loved his character he truly loved her with everything he is. She made some choices for the wrong reasons and it came back to crumple a part of her world. I hate the cocky rich guy. Happy with how it all turned out. I cried a lot with her and especially when we found out about Connor!! Very good book that pulls on your heartstrings.

Not at all my cup of tea. This was not the gritty MC book I thought it was going to be. Did not like the people in the book and will not read any other books in this series.

Tienne Desrochers was born into the world of Noir et Bleu, a motorcycle club known for its not-so-squeaky clean reputation that her father belonged to. After his still unsolved murder and the fact that their junkie mother is incapable of providing them the home life they need, eighteen-year-old Tienne and her younger brother, sixteen-year-old Cooper, have come to live with their aunt and uncle. Living the cushy life with the country club set is so different from the life Tienne and Cooper once knew, but then they soon realize that the rich and privileged aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Tienne's aunt and uncle are nice and caring people and she's grateful that they've taken both her and Cooper in, giving them an opportunity to start new lives. While Cooper is adjusting well, Tienne is still stuck in an adjustment period of sorts. She's not sure how well she'll do with in this new environment but when the one person she loves most, her boyfriend of three years and a member of the Noir et Bleu, Aiden Gyllenhall, gives her an engagement ring, her happiness is quickly overshadowed by the fear that she'll end up like her mother and be stuck in the same old life she's trying to leave behind.

Finding a convenient excuse to abruptly end things with Aiden, Tienne starts her internship at her aunt's company and strikes up a flirtatious friendship with the preppy Leland Crofton. She tries to enjoy the perks of her new life but still loves and misses Aiden. When an unthinkable event happens, it destroys Tienne and makes her take a close, hard look at the life she thought she had left behind and the life she was now trying to lead. Secrets and lies have surrounded her for far too long and now she needs to decide if she is her father's daughter and find retribution in the only way she knows how.

One Percenter is the debut novel of author D.R. Graham and is the first book in the Noir et Bleu MC series. This was a good story about the struggles of one young woman trying to let go of her past in order to have a better future, both for herself and her younger brother. Tienne's old life had already taken too many casualties--her father, her relationship with Aiden, and the mother she once knew. When it takes the one other thing that means most to her, she's devastated and is forced into the realization that it is only through her past connections that she may be able to avenge her loss.

For those not familiar with the term "one percenter", it is used for those in the motorcycle riding community that are considered outlaws or non-law abiding. The Noir et Bleu MC's members are portrayed as "one percenters" and it is their lifestyle that lead character Tienne finds unappealing. She also thinks that being with Aiden would mean her having to be stuck in that kind of life but then later sees that some of her presumptions are wrong. I liked that her character goes through a metamorphosis of sorts, not as a whole but in certain but important aspects of her young life.

This was a highly entertaining and enjoyable read and one I would happily recommend to my fellow bookaholics, especially those that are fans of new adult (NA) and motorcycle club (MC) romances. There's a lot of drama, some humor, a bit of action, and a hint of mystery thriller mixed together to produce a well-written romance novel. I'm interested to see who's story will be featured in the next installment of the story or if Tienne and Aiden's love story will continue. I've already gone ahead and pre-ordered One Percenter and I suggest you do too! I'm giving this book five out of five stars. ♥

You can't choose your family, but you can choose to pave a different path for yourself. That's exactly what Tienne Desrochers set out to do. After the death of her father (a mc club member killed in retaliation) and a drug addicted mother who didn't seem to give a shit about herself let alone her children, Tienne took her brother and went to live with her Aunty and Uncle. Determined not to turn into her mother, and for her brother to have a decent life she swapped bar brawls and motorbikes for country clubs and pencil skirts. But leaving the past behind also meant leaving the only good thing (other than her brother) along with it - her boyfriend Aiden. Rather than being honest with Aiden, she does something completely cowardly and uses an unexpected situation to pin something on him and break it off; leaving them both heartbroken. I should probably add that Aiden is the president of the mc's son, so it was understandable that when she looked into the future she saw her past; her parents.

Trying to move on she makes friends, works, and starts dating someone. She had a great relationship with her brother and other than missing Aiden silently, it seemed as though she really had a brighter looking future. Aiden never really leaves her though, he knows everything she's getting up to, and let's her know it via text... It's not creepy, he's actually really sweet and I really felt for him, but in the same breath I could understand why Tienne was the way she was.

I don't want to give the plot, or too much information away, so all I'll say is that in an ironic twist of fate, tragedy is caused by the future she tried to move on with, and it's the past she left behind that is there to comfort, protect and love her.

There was a part that had me choked up, literally I had tears streaming down my face. I think the author really dug deep for the kindergarten speech and boy did it hit me!

The characters were great. I loved that Aiden's image was that of a bad boy biker, but he was a genuinely good person. He really did love Tienne and his actions proved that over and over again. If she needed him he was there in a heartbeat; even if they weren't on the best terms.

"Aiden sent five texts today. The last one is: I’m going to give u some space. Call me when ur ready to talk. Love u 4 ever. I decide not to delete that one."

This isn't a smut filled book. It's actually quite tame, and while I love my smut, this was entertaining enough to hold my attention on on its own.

Really enjoyable read.

If you're the daughter of an MC member and engaged to another one...how can you leave that violent life behind? Fortunately for Tienne and her brother, it seems that life is starting to change in better. After her dad is killed her aunt and uncle have taken her and her brother to live with them. In that glamorous part of the city the most frightening thing that can happen to you is to wear the wrong dress to the country club. Been beaten or murdered along the road, to assist to the lenght your mother would go to have a dose... she can now leave all that in the past. Her brother can be what he is, without fear of reprisals, and she can follow her dream of becoming an actress.

“I know.” I give him one of my pillows and lay facing him. “You don’t have to take care of her, you know. She never took care of us.” “I want to.” I smile and brush his bangs away from his eyes. “Have you got your outfit picked out for your first day at a fancy private school?” “Flat front trousers and an argyle sweater. How about you? What are you wearing to your first day at a corporate job?” “Frumpy skirt and grandma blouse.” “Sexy.” I laugh. “Night, Lucky Boy.” “Night, T Bear.”

There is only one shadow that hovers over her. It's the think of leaving Aiden, her best friend since childhood...her boyfriend now. The love of her life. However, she must leave him. He is a member of the MC club and she doesn't want anything to do with that life anymore.

“What’s wrong, sweetheart?” Everything. I can’t imagine my life without Aiden, but I can imagine it with him, and it’s not good. “Will you pick me up in front of my old house, please?” “Of course. Are you all right?” “No.” “What happened?” I exhale and glance down the street I grew up on. All the shitty old houses with the chewed-up lawns and beat-up cars out front. “I don’t want my mom and dad’s life. I want a fresh start.” “I’ll be right there.”

And then... then there is Leland. So... so obvious in his pursuit, but oh so charming...and better yet, so right in this new life of her. The easier thing to do is to be with him.
To be normal. To fit in.
Even if this is wounding both her heart and Aiden's.

One Percenter is not really an MC story. The story follows Tienne and is focused on her growth. On her struggle to find her way, to be better and not make the same mistakes of her parents. The path she has chosen, however, is not the easiest and dangers can be found in every place, not only in the most obvious one.
To find her happiness she will have to fight...and fight hard.
