So excited that a K-9 continuity series has become an annual Loved Inspired Suspense tradition! My absolute favourite series in the line and Laura Scott has created a stunning introduction to this year’s offering, the Colorado K-9 Unit.

The tense, action-packed opening scene sets the stage for the story that follows. This time a special K-9 Unit has been created to expose a diabolical crime ring and Autumn spends her time working leads on that case as well as a more personal one of her own. Only she’s not sure if they are connected or how Jordan Clarke fits into the mix. Lots of intriguing layers to delve into here.

Of course, she has Bear and his unique K-9 skills to help her along the way. Scott does a wonderful job portraying the strong bond between these partners and the way they work together in the field.

Then there’s Jordan, a neighbouring rancher who adds his own measure of intrigue as well as sparks of attraction. I enjoyed the progression of their romance in the midst of sheer bedlam! If my heart wasn’t racing because of the suspense it was skipping beats over their love story.

I listened to the audible edition of ‘Searching the Truth’ and was thrilled to hear the familiar voice of Jennifer Jill Araya narrating the story. She always delivers a well-paced performance that catches the essence of the story and the spirit of the characters.

Great start to an intriguing and disturbing continuity!

Riley and her bloodhound Bear are chasing an intruder who entered her house and shot at her when Jordan pulls up to help. While they are out a little way from her house, Bear detects remains that turn out to be Jordan's missing teenage half sister who was pregnant, Jenny. Except that Jenny was not pregnant when she was killed, so where is the bab? Jordan had gotten a puppy Cutie in the hopes of enticing Jenny to move to his ranch so he could help. Then a K,-9 task force is formed when 2 other girls are found dead shortly after giving birth and one pregnant girl just went missing, Mia. But in the meantime, this intruder keeps coming back and trying to hurt Riley and now Jordan too. Can they find Mia in time? What about those babies? That is the overarching continuity storyline. It will continue throughout all the books in this continuity. Also, can Riley figure out who is targeting her before one of them gets badly hurt or killed? Read this to find out!

The pace is breakneck and the tone is intense with an action oriented storyline that has a few kisses and no steam. The characters are vibrant and engaging, including the dogs. The Christian ideals are woven into the story and add to it. Read the continuity in order, and this is book 1. Enjoy this action packed adventure of a Christian romance!

Revenge....but revenge for what?

Autumn is a great cop, she is still finding her place and fighting the blatant sexism and disregard from some members of the force. But she doesn't let that stop her from doing her job and doing it well, she and Bear are an awesome team but it is also nice to see the support she gets from Jordan as he accidentally finds himself backing her up more than once. They meet under the worst of circumstances, but the sparks that fly and the chemistry that sizzles makes it interesting to see how they navigate both the investigation and their future. I loved seeing Bear and Cutie together too! This is a dangerous and intriguing start to the series with a secondary plot that I assume is going to run through the whole series. I look forward to the remaining five books that are released over the next few months (book 2 was released this week). I listened to this on Audible.

A good read! Officer Autumn Riley and her K-9, Bear, wake up to someone breaking into her home and shooting at her! But the intruder manages to escape. Nearby rancher Jordan Clarke is trying to find his missing sister and Autumn and Bear stumbled upon human remains. Who did they stumble upon and what happened to them? She is assigned to help find who is behind the missing girls and their babies. What is going on? Will Autumn and Jordan be able to figure it out before someone takes them both out?

Searching for the Truth was such an exciting book from start to finish. With a wonderful K9 and his officer, Autumn Riley thrown in with rancher Jordan Clarke both looking for his pregnant sister. But someone is trying to kill them because of their search or did it have something to do with Autumn's investigation into her mother's unsolved murder.
This is the first in a new series and I can't wait for the next books.

What a great start to a new K-9 unit series. K-9 officer Autumn Riley faces multiple attempts by an intruder who broke into her house and tried to shoot at her. Are the attacks on her related to one of her own cases or her late mother's unsolved murder? Her neighbor Jordan Clarke, who is searching for missing half-sister, gets caught in the crossfire with Autumn's intruder. The task force Autumn's part of is investigating a case with ties to Jordan's missing sister and will span throughout this series. Can't wait for book 2.

I enjoyed the suspense about the shooter after officer Riley. However finding Jordan's sister killer and other pregnant women before they were killed after they had there babies nor the babies being found left me disappointed.

Autumn and Jordan

and 2 K-9 dogs make a full house. I can’t imagine being married to someone in law enforcement in the K-9 unit. This is one book that was so compelling to read front to back. And refuse to put it down until the end. Enjoy!
