Pursued on the Run is a suspenseful, action-packed narrative with a surprising, unpredictable ending. Who orchestrated the frame that sent Sean Donovan to prison, and why have they targeted him, his ex-fiancée, and his son? Those are the daunting questions that kept me turning pages quickly and burning the midnight oil to discover the answers. A well-paced plot with plenty of twists, compelling characters I connected with right away, a seemingly impossible second-chance romance, and a meaningful faith thread all come together to create a story that is both heart-pounding and heartwarming. I think fans of inspirational romantic suspense will find this book as satisfying and engaging as I did. I highly recommend it.

I am a big fan of this author and I have read several of her books. This novel starts out with the main male character, Sean Donovan, getting off the bus after having been released from prison. Not long after he gets off the bus, he is jumped and put into a van. This novel started with the suspense as well as mystery from the very beginning. There were so many good secondary characters in this novel. I will say that I thought this was one mystery that I actually was able to figure out from the very beginning but I was so wrong. It had a lot of twists and turns. It kept my attention until the very end. I highly recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy from the author. The opinions in this review are my own.

PURSUED ON THE RUN by Terri Reed is the phenomenal, suspense filled story of Sean Donovan, once a sheriff’s homicide investigator and now ex-con, and Tracy Lynnwood, Assistant District Attorney for the county of Placer, as they try to make peace with the past, justice for past misjudgments and stay alive to figure out if there is a future – together.

Once a man of the law, Sean was sent to prison for a crime he didn’t commit through falsified, indisputable evidence. After serving an 18-month-sentence, now a free man, he’s still determined to find proof of his innocence. What he didn’t expect when he stepped off the bus close to his condo, was to be attacked, beaten and left with a warning of harm coming to his ex-fiancée and her child if he didn’t leave town and forget trying to set the record straight. While Tracy had hurt him to the core by not having faith in him before and the during the trail, he must warn her!

Tracy tried hard to believe in Sean. She’d tried to help his case by not excusing herself from the prosecutor’s case in order to work within it to help find proof he was innocent. However, all the evidence they found was solid and irrefutable. After all, facts were facts. When she had found out she was pregnant, she tried to let Sean know. Regardless of his sentence, he still had the right to know about their baby. Because of his hurt, he had refused to see or talk to her. Her letters came back unopened. She knew exactly what day it was – the day of his release!

When Sean makes it to Tracy’s cabin and she sees his beaten body, will it be the first step to believing him? How will Sean take the news of finding out he has an eight-month-old son? When threats are carried out, can he protect those he loves? Where will they be safe? Who can they trust? How high up does the corruption go? The only one Sean knows he can trust is Bryce Springs, FBI agent, but will he believe he was innocent and help them? Will the most unlikely couple be their biggest ally? Will Zia and Fin, two retired U.S. Army dogs, find new work as baby protectors? As the attacks keep coming can they survive? Can Sean and Tracy work past the hurt and betrayal?

PURSUED ON THE RUN is a riveting, edge-of-your-seat, heart-pounding story that you will feel compelled to read in one-sitting. Terri Reed gives us a story of intrigue, danger, suspense, romance, forgiveness, second chances and wraps it in a wonderful thread of faith. PURSUED ON THE RUN is absolutely FIVE-STAR reading that I whole-heartedly recommend to everyone!

I received an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own.

If you’re looking for a heart-pounding romantic suspense, Terri Reed’s Pursued on the Run is it! From the get-go, this book kept me on the edge of my seat as a falsely accused ex-cop is released from prison & tries to clear his name. Chock-full of mystery, twists, romance, & faith, it was impossible to put down.

Former sheriff’s investigator Sean Donovan is finally free after a year in prison, determined to uncover who framed him. But the moment he steps off the bus in Tahoe City, he’s ambushed by assailants who warn him to leave town, or they’ll go after his ex-fiancée & her child. With nowhere else to go, he ignores them & seeks out the woman who broke his heart & helped convict him.

District Attorney Tracy Lynwood will do anything to protect her son, but when Sean, the baby’s father, is released from prison, her heart is torn between the man she once knew & the criminal she can’t trust. When Sean shows up at her door badly beaten, she begins to question everything. As threats escalate, they’re forced to flee with the son he never knew. Now hiding out in Lake Tahoe, they must find the truth as danger, betrayals, & a terrifying ring of criminals threaten them at every turn.

I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced, second-chance romantic thriller! Sean & Tracy have been through so much, with a wedge still between them, his anger over her lack of belief & her struggle with the evidence against him. I loved watching them break down their barriers & rekindle their romance. Sweet little Charlie is the bond between them, & I enjoyed seeing Sean get to know his son.

The action is nonstop, with criminals always one step ahead. Multiple suspects keep the tension high as they investigate, aided by an FBI friend. I also loved the retired Army German Shepherds, Zia & Fin, who help protect Charlie, along with the light faith thread of forgiveness & second chances woven throughout.

Highly recommend to inspirational romantic suspense fans! I received an advanced copy from the author with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are completely my own & voluntarily provided.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review. I own some of Terri Reed's other books and love them! It is easy to see how she became a NY Times Best Seller Author!

I received this book February 17th and finished it February 23. It was so good I'd have my laptop playing a movie that I listened to while reading Pursued on the Run! I didn't want to put it down! I read it every chance I got!

When Sean is convicted of a crime he didn't commit he is sentenced to a year in Old Folsom Prison. He is a former homicide investigator who is accused and convicted of stealing $50.000 from the Police Evidence Room. He is shown signing in and out of the room on camera. While all the evidence points to him, he proclaims his innocence even while friends and his fiancé, Tracy turn their backs on him and don't believe in his innocence. Due to her public announcement of disbelief in Sean's innocence, he blocks her from all visitation and calls while in prison because he was very hurt over her lack of belief in him. He returns her letters unopened. Because of this he is unaware he has a son.

When he is released from prison a year later he is kidnapped and beaten and left on the cold, wet, snowy ground in the woods. He is told to leave town or his ex-finance and her son will pay the price. He hadn't wanted anything to do with Tracy after her lack of belief in him, but when she is threatened by whoever is behind his kidnapping, beating and frame-up threatens to hurt her and her son (he is unaware he is a father yet), he rushes to her house to warn her and to protect her. He learns he has a son and is more determined than ever to protect them at all costs.

Will Sean forgive Tracy for her lack of faith in him? Will they be able to be a family again and together find out who is behind the corruption and framing Sean before it's too late? Will they learn to rely on God now that they have found Him again?

Action packed, nail biter, faith based suspense that will keep you guessing who is behind the attempted murders and kidnappings along with the corruption that goes all the way from police to a judge! Will Sean be able to once and for all clear his name? You need to read this book as it keeps you guessing until the plot and the culprit become clear! It'll keep you on your toes!

Pursued on the Run by Terri Reed

He’ll do anything to clear his name…
and protect his son.

Framed for a crime he didn’t commit, former sheriff’s investigator Sean Donovan is finally released from prison, only to be ambushed by unknown assailants—and left with a chilling warning. With his attackers now targeting his former fiancée, Assistant District Attorney Tracy Lynwood, he must take her under his protection…along with the son he didn’t know about. Fleeing to a remote location in Lake Tahoe, Sean and Tracy must navigate a web of corruption to expose the truth. But with fatal threats and untrustworthy allies everywhere, can they prove Sean’s innocence…and stay alive?
My favorite quote is
Respect and admiration for her grit washed over him. “Great plan.”

“Can this truck go off-road?” Tracy asked.

His gaze jumped to the snow-covered trail, barely discernible, that ran along this side of the nearly frozen river, and to the towering trees across the expanse of water. Sean wanted to kiss Tracy for thinking of it, but he had to spring into action instead.

I recommend this book.
Pursued on the Run by Terri Reed is a 5 -star book.

This mystery was action-packed and full of suspense and intrigue. Sean Donovan has served a term in prison for a crime he did not commit. Assistant District Attorney Tracy Lynwood was engaged to Sean when he was arrested. She gave birth to their son while he was in prison, a birth which Sean never knew about. Now someone is threatening not only Sean, but Tracy and their son.

This story was actually quite sad in that even Sean's friends and co-workers believed he was guilty. They never stopped to consider anything but his guilt. It was a real lesson in true friendship and loyalty to friends. While he was in prison Sean learned to fully appreciate life and found hope in his faith once again realizing that human beings are flawed and will let you down. One of my favorite quotes showed his humility and willingness to lean on God - "His faith in humanity had taken a hit, while his faith in God had been renewed during his darkest hours while incarcerated. Though he didn't understand why life had taken such a horrible turn, he trusted that God had a plan." That is true faith in action, not just in words.

The second chance in this story was about romance, but also about second chances in life. The author really fooled me with many twists. I must admit I was shocked, which delights this mystery loving reader's heart.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you are looking for a second chance romance with heart pounding, page turning suspense, THIS is the one for you!

I have to be honest, the moment this book started and Sean was being released from jail for a crime he didn't commit... I knew this story would be good! Add in an ex fiance and a baby he doesn't know is his, and already it's pulling at my heartstrings!

Sean is finally out of jail after being falsely accused, and he is out to find out who framed him. But before he can dig too deep, someone is trying to keep him from looking into it, and they even threaten his ex fiancée Tracy and their son just to keep him from digging. But clearing his name is no longer his only goal. A second chance with Tracy and his son is motivation enough to see this through. He just needs to keep them safe and somehow uncover the truth before it's too late!

Somehow Terri found a way to add the sweet moments between Sean and Tracy in the midst of such scary times. It felt like they were at odds due to their past, but they were still so supportive of each other. Despite their feelings, they truly were doting on the other, and I loved it.

I gave this a 4.5 rounded to 5 stars!

I received a complimentary copy. This review reflects my honest opinion.

Pursued on the Run is a masterclass in keeping readers on the edge of their seats. Terri Reed constructs a tight, fast-moving plot that balances the thrill of a conspiracy unraveling and second chances with found family. Sean Donovan is a genuinely compelling protagonist: stripped of his career, his reputation, and years of his life for something he didn't do, yet still fighting to protect the woman who once meant everything to him and a son he never knew existed.

Tracy's reluctance to let Sean back in is completely understandable, and the tension is definitely there. Their dynamic throughout the story — guarded at first, then gradually, carefully moving toward something real — is the emotional core that makes all the action land. By the end, the healing feels authentic rather than rushed, and I found myself genuinely invested in what came next for them. Heart-pounding from start to finish, with just the right amount of warmth and hope woven through the danger.

High-octane suspense! Sean Donovan was framed - no doubt about it. Released from prison and anxious to figure out who was behind it, he finds himself kidnapped the day of his release. When he is threatened to not investigate or else his woman and child will suffer, Sean is totally confused. His ex-fiancée Tracy helped send him to prison and he doesn't have a child. Oh, the tangled web! After he is beaten and released, he turns to Tracy for answers, but she wants nothing to do with him. The layers of hurt and mistrust run deep on both sides but can the two of them put aside their differences and work to figure out who is behind the sinister plot to harm them? As things escalate out of control, Sean and Tracy find themselves in the fight of their lives and can only trust each other. Once again, Terri Reed weaves a tale so suspenseful you'll be up way past bedtime!

This story packs an emotional wallop from the first page, and the intensity never lets up! The hero returns home after serving time for a crime he didn't commit, threats abound from an unknown source, and a reunion with his ex-fiance introduces another tremendous shock! Sean Donovan has a son he didn't know about, and they all may be in danger!

I loved that I was kept guessing until the very end, because of carefully structured twists, turns, and clever hints that suggested one thing but actually meant something else. A second chance seemed likely for Sean and Tracy but there was a little matter of him finally proving his innocence! This is romantic suspense at its best, but author Terri Reed doesn't forget the nuggets of faith that are always so inspiring. Pursued on the Run is a perfect choice for fans of romantic Christian suspense!

Settle into a comfy spot and get ready to go on a very suspense-filled adventure. Sean Donovan has just been released from prison after being found guilty of stealing money. As he makes his way back towards his hometown, he gets jumped, kidnapped, then dumped with a warning to leave and not come back or his ex-finance and a child will be harmed. Sean barely makes it to Tracy's house before the ones who threatened Sean shows up. This book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Just who is trying to harm Sean and Tracy and the baby that he doesn't know is his? This one kept me guessing all the way through. If you love suspense and second chance romance, grab this book as soon as it hits the shelves. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but was not required to leave a positive review. Sheriff's investigator, Sean, falsely put in prison for a crime he didn't commit. When released, he is ready to find the ones responsible. He doesn't know he has a son. Sean and Tracy brought up over arrest. Tracy was the Assistant District Attorney. As soon as Sean got out of prison, he is attacked and told to leave toy or his girlfriend and son would be in danger. So much corruption in government offices planted evidence. A friend of Sean's in FBI helps by bringing dogs to protect Charlie, Tracy and her Mom. I love these dogs trained. Things were held over people's heads to get them to do what Z-tap wanted them to do. Choices would have been hard. Read and see what you would have done in their places. The safe houses were all compromised. I have read many of Terri's books of the year and reviewed some. Love them all. You would love all the Love Inspired suspense books

I received this book as an ARC with no expectations so of a positive review. This book had me from the first paragraph. Sean was a former sherriff's investigator who was sent to prison. He had stated from the beginning he was innocent. Now that he was released, he had to find out who framed him and why. Prior to his arrest and sentencing, he was engaged to Tracy who was the Assistant District Attorney. Sean could not understand why Tracy did not believe him and in fact worked on the procecution to put him in jail. Join Sean as he finds that being out is not any different than being in prison as those who framed him does not want him to uncover the truth. This book is so intriguing and suspenseful that I just had to keep reading.

Oh my! This book starts out with a big bang. Former Police Investigator, Sean Donovan, was framed for a robbery. On the day he was released from prison, he was kidnapped and threatened to leave town and never come back or his lady and the baby would pay. Tracy, the ADA, was part of the team that prosecuted him. Even though she tried to find the proof that he had been framed. Now together, they must find out the truth and keep the baby safe. This book will keep you turning the pages to find out why Sean was framed and who was behind it. The final twist with all the answers will keep you glued to the seat of your chair. I definitely recommend this book if you enjoy suspense and intrigue.

Pursued on the Run is an exciting, danger-filled, action-packed story that will keep you guessing on several levels. Who framed Sean? Who is trying to kill him and why? Why is Tracy, Sean's ex-fiancè, being targeted? Who can they trust? Will they be able to stay alive long enough to find answers? Will Sean be able to know the son he just met? Will Sean and Tracy find the love they lost when Sean was framed? I was shocked when things came to a head and the unknown assailants were revealed.

I highly recommend this book if you like thrilling suspense where faith in God gets the victims through their ordeal. I received an advance copy to read and all opinions expressed are mine alone.

Sean Donovan, a former sheriff's investigator, is ambushed upon his prison release. He'd been framed for a crime he didn't commit. ADA Tracy Lynnwood, his former fiancé, is now a target, too.
Author Terri Reed packs Pursued on the Run chock full of action and suspense. Who is framing Sean? Why? Why is Tracy brought into it? I love trying to figure out the villain in the author's stories. She keeps you guessing! I also love the faith thread. There's beautiful moments among the danger. The second chance at love trope is one of my favorites, too. Plus is has my all-time favorite, an epilogue!

Another thrilling suspense from Terri Reed! I enjoyed reading Sean and Tracy’s story, which had unexpected twists and dangerous criminals that turned my stomach. I can unequivocally say that I never saw the ending coming and I could not believe the evil that would cause people to come after a very young child and his mother. Sean and Tracy’s shared past and their relationship made everything better and raised the stakes just a bit more than if they did not have a child. I highly recommend this book, and I am looking forward to reading the author’s next one!

This story was absolutely thrilling that kept me on the edge of my seat with clean suspense and romance from beginning to end.

Convicted ex police officer Sean and Assistant District Attorney Tracy are thrown back together into a world of deceit, betrayal, twists, and near death experiences after Sean returns to his hometown after prison.

The characters, setting, and story line kept me intrigued with the non stop action and drama. I liked the faith element and K-9  dog element with protecting baby Charlie. Another amazing Love Inspired Suspense book from this author-highly recommend!

This was an excellent book. I read it in one day because I could not put it down. Sean and Tracy were great characters that had gone through a lot. They had a mystery to solve in the process of running for their lives and protecting the people they loved. There is heartache, betrayal, intrigue, crime solving and running from killers but through it all live from the Lord and each other got them through. This is definitely a book worth reading.
