প্রচুর হিসাব মিলছে না। শুধু অমুকে দেখেছে, তমুকে বলেছে। মিথ্যা বলছি না, কিন্তু এরকম একটা বিশাল কাজের জন্য যেরকম investigative journalism এর প্রয়োজন, তার একটুও করা হয়নি।
উপরন্তু ভক্তিরসের যাকে বলে বন্যা! শ্রীযুক্ত রজত পাল মহাশয় শ্রীচৈতন্যের সম্বন্ধে লিখতে গিয়ে এর অনেক নির্মোহ, বৈজ্ঞানিক বিশ্লেষণ করেছেন। কুণাল বাবু ওনাকে অনুসরণ করতে পারতেন।

এই বইটি মূলত নেতাজি সুভাষচন্দ্র বসুর অন্তর্ধান রহস্য নিয়ে একজন সাংবাদিকের দীর্ঘদিনের অনুসন্ধানের ফসল। বইয়ের কেন্দ্রীয় থিম হলো — নেতাজি ১৯৪৫-এ বিমান দুর্ঘটনায় মারা যাননি, বরং ভারতে ফিরে এসেছিলেন এবং উত্তরপ্রদেশের ফৈজাবাদে গুমনামী বাবা বা ভগবানজী হিসেবে গোপনে জীবনযাপন করেছিলেন। লেখক চন্দননগর থেকে ফৈজাবাদ পর্যন্ত নিজের ফিল্ডওয়ার্ক, সাক্ষাৎকার, কিছু দলিল-পত্র ও সাক্ষ্যের ভিত্তিতে এই দাবি তুলে ধরেছেন।
লেখার স্টাইল খুব সহজ, সাবলীল এবং আবেগময়। যদি আপনি নেতাজির প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা রাখেন, তাহলে বইটি এক বসাতে পড়ে ফেলতে পারবেন।
অনেক অজানা বা কম আলোচিত ডিটেইলস আছে, বিশেষ করে ফৈজাবাদের গুমনামি বাবার জীবনযাত্রা, চিঠিপত্র, সাক্ষীদের বয়ান নিয়ে।
কিছু জায়গায় রিপিটিশন আছে যেটা একটু অন্যরকম লেগেছে। বইটা "নেতাজি ফিরেছিলেন" বলে দাবি করে, কিন্তু শেষ পর্যন্ত সেটা প্রমাণের চেয়ে "সম্ভাবনা" হিসেবে রেখে দেয়।
তবে সবমিলিয়ে বইটি আমার ভীষণ ভালো লেগেছে। নেতাজিকে নিয়ে প্রথম কোন বই পড়লাম। সত্যি বলতে নেতাজি-চর্চাকে আবার জাগিয়ে তোলার কাজটা বইটা ভালোভাবেই করেছে।
যদি আপনি নেতাজি-প্রেমী হন, তাঁর ফিরে আসার সম্ভাবনায় বিশ্বাস করতে চান বা আবেগময়ভাবে আরও কাছে যেতে চান — তাহলে এই বইটা আপনার জন্য দারুণ। এটা মন ছুঁয়ে যায়, নতুন প্রশ্ন জাগায়।

অসাধারণ একটি বই। ওনার পডকাস্ট গুলো বই আকারে প্রকাশ। অনেক তথ্যসমৃদ্ধ। অবশ্যই পড়া উচিত সবার একবার।

Subhash Chandra Bose has captured the imagination of young Indians and Bengalis in particular since childhood. And this book is the outcome of this curiosity and the resolve to solve the mystery. The book is a good read. The author is a genuine fan of Bose and has written very passionately. The book could have been structured better. It seemed more like minutes of the interviews a blogger has taken on the subject over the years. If the author could go chornologically and presented the events in the life of Bose after the alleged his death in 1945 as versions of what could have been actually, with relevant documents and snippets of interview, the book could have been turned into a thriller.
Nevertheless, a brave first attempt. It is easier to be a critic that to publish something that has been covered in secrecy for decades.
