The Savior

Rate this book
Invisibility sounds like a gift, the ultimate superpower. For Cleo Mulroney, it’s a kind of torture that feels like a life sentence.
Rescued by her brother and a few of his MC members from a nightmare she barely survived, Cleo thought she’d get a second chance at normal. Instead, tragedy struck once again. Losing her brother was devastating and left her alone inside the Killcreek Drifters’ clubhouse, the only woman in a house full of dangerous men. They may have sworn to protect her, but not to care about her. She exists on the edges of their world, unseen and untouched, exactly where they think she’s safest. It’s a cruel fate for a woman who has always longed to be seen, to be chosen, to be wanted. Especially by him.

Maverick “Wraith” Beckett, the club’s Enforcer, was raised on vengeance, brutality, and loyalty. Cold. Controlled. Untouchable. Born and bred a fighter, it’s where he thrives, and he has zero regrets. The MC is his only family, and outsiders don’t belong in his world. Cleo was never supposed to matter. But the quiet, scarred, courageous woman he vowed to protect is becoming his greatest weakness. Wraith may have given a solemn vow to protect her, but he wasn’t prepared to fall hard for a woman not meant for him.

As a new threat closes in on Killcreek territory, Cleo’s desire for independence and Wraith’s need to keep her safe create the perfect storm. Keeping his distance may be more dangerous than pulling her close. Because in a world built on blood and brotherhood, loving her could cost him everything.

Amelia Shea writes contemporary romance. She released her debut novel in 2015, and has followed her passion for series romance ever since. Her writing style includes a little sweet, a little sassy and lots of steam. She loves building stories with settings that become comfortable and familiar, and developing characters who feel real, and though they may be flawed, they learn and grow, and finally deserve a happy ending. When she is not writing, she is obsessed with reading (all genres although she does has a soft spot for romance), coffee (it's more of an addiction but she prefers obsession) and perfecting her "y'all" (just a northern girl living in the south).

Cleo Mulroney only had one bright spot in her life, it was dim thoughbut it was all she had. Her brother who was in jail she wrote to him and his cell mate Wraith, even though she never heard back from him. When her brother got out, he saved her and she has been living at his MC clubhouse even though women are not allowed. She knows his MC feels guilty for his death and have kept her on but Cleo has a way of getting herself in trouble and Wraith is who protects her.

Wraith has long had feelings for Cleo, but he has never crossed the line. Now Cleo has put herself in danger and Wraith is realizing the sheltered life she has been living is too small. As Cleo begins to spread her wings he knows the time is right to finally claim Cleo as his own.

Exceeded my expectations what a terrific read. I have been intrigued by the Killcreek Drifters since introduced, so many fascinating characters and each one is so differently complex. I can't wait for the next book.

Quickish Review

I have been reading this author for a while and I know what I’m in for but she broke my heart with this FMC. This is the start of a new series but with ties to her earlier books regarding the Ghosttown Riders and the Underground. Definitely check for trigger warnings because this is a long suffering heroine kind of story, and while most of her trauma is off page, the ramifications of that trauma linger, and she’s so good, naive and trusting even after what’s happened to her that I sympathized with her. Even when she drove me a little batty. It’s been a while since I cried reading a book, but Between her personal trauma and dealing with the grief on page, I definitely shed my share of tears. Perhaps it’s my mood but this one hit and even if I cried I enjoyed myself. I’m eager to see what’s next in this series.

I wasn't too excited to read this one when I realized it was a new series with Killcreek at the center. In the author's other series, when these guys show up, they are assholes of a great proportion. I was more leery when I realized Cleo was going to be the female lead. What we have seen of Cleo so far, I loved her and didn't want her with assholes. In fact I wanted her to break away from Killcreek some how and end up with people who would appreciate and love her. For much of this one all of Killcreek, including Wraith treated Cleo like shit and that is with a select few knowing the whole truth of her past, but even with her being Knox's sister, they treated her like shit. It annoyed me so much! Time and time again they let Cleo down, when all she wanted was to be wanted and loved. If they had given her just a small morsel of affection and time, she would have showered them all with so much. Instead with how they treated her, she had to be careful around them. Even with how this one ended, I want better for Cleo than these people who still don't seem to appreciate her. And don't get me started on things with Inez. About the only good thing I can say there is, at least Inez is brutally honest with Cleo and how she see's her and let Cleo know that. So while this one had a HEA, it wasn't enough for me, for Cleo, she deserved more/better.

Chloe and Wraith’s story was everything I hoped for, a little bit of drama, angst, brotherhood and a few familiar cameos!

Seeing Chloe from other prospectives, I felt sorry for her, didn’t have much respect for the protection she had in Killcreek. Those perceptions were wiped clean the minute I got into this book.

Always a five star author!

I absolutely fell in love with the story of Wraith and Cleo. I was so excited when he finally let her know that she was his. There is romance, spice and angst in this book. I cannot wait for the next book!

Love Amelia Shea’s books and this one didn’t disappoint. We’ve waited a long time for Killcreek MC. We’ve met them a few times in various other books. So pleased we get to find out about them. The Savior grips you by the heart from page one. Cleo is invisible, but is she.

“That was a commendable act of chivalry, Wraith.”

“Oh, I ain’t fucking done, brother.”

I LOVE Wraith. I have been waiting for Cleo's book since she popped up in Grains and it did not disappoint.

I am super excited to continue the series because the secondary characters are awesome. I really hope Ghost is next because I adore that man. I have a feeling it will be Gent though and honestly I couldn't stand his ass. Im curious about Ace and Cross as well.

All and all i recommend this book and fingers crossed I dont have to wait to long for the next book annddd that Gent gets his ass handed to him in the next book😅😂

Cleo and Wraith’s story hits hard in all the best ways. Their relationship builds through letters, friendship, grief, and all those messy in‑between moments that make their bond feel real and earned. And the side characters shine too—the girls’‑night scene was so fun, and you can tell Cleo’s finally getting the kind of support she always deserved.

From the very start, you can feel the weight Cleo carries, and watching her journey unfold is both emotional and incredibly powerful. Her growth is honestly beautiful—bit by bit she finds her strength, her voice, and her sense of self, all while holding onto the softness and kindness at her core.

Ghost was a total standout. He steps up in a big way, giving Cleo the solid, protective big‑brother energy she’s needed from day one. We get so much more of him in this book than before, and every moment with him was amazing.

The humor lands, the character moments are on point, and revisiting familiar places and faces just adds to the fun. And yes—we finally learn who Penny’s man is, and I can't wait for that next story. There's so much to love here, and even more to look forward to.

This book is a little different from other MC Romance novels because of the heroine. Cleo accidentally causes so much trouble! She has very little sense of self-preservation and tries to treat everyone with kindness, so she spends a lot of her time acting like a concussed lamb. But she is so sweet and goofy that you can’t help but love her. She was rescued by her brother Knox and his friend Wraith from an abusive parental situation. She had written letters to both of them while they were in prison together on a three-year stint, and Wraith totally fell for her through her letters. Knox is deceased when the main part of the story begins, Cleo is still living at the clubhouse, and Wraith has his thumb where the sun shineth not because he hasn’t claimed her several years later. Thus begins a story about a really tough antihero and the sweet woman who is his soft spot.
Cat’s Stats
Heat- explicit, virgin heroine
Bechdel test- passed
Safety? No cheating but there’s a description of SA.
Triggers- trafficking, SA, violence, menacing, alcohol and substance abuse, hangovers from hell, language.
Tropes- Brother’s Best Friend, Age Gap, 1% Club, J/P Hero, Pen Pals.

Loved it!

No plot spoilers
No potential triggers although there is reference to kidnap and sexual abuse off page.
This is a fab succession to the East and Underground series.
Killcreek Drifters starts with Cleo and Wraith, the subdued and at times bemused girl living with the MC and her overbearing and slightly threatening shadow, Wraith.
I have wanted Cleo's story and can honestly say it lived up to expectation.
Romance? Yeah, but it's the gritty MC kind.
There is self discovery for both main characters and I won't lie, I cried at some parts.
Killcreek are not easy going men and Cleo does not have an easy journey with them, in fact there was more than one occasion I would cheerfully have set them all on fire.
Would I recommend the book?
Yes.
You would probably obtain a deeper understanding of the backstory if you read the East series and the Underground series before starting with Killcreek but if you really didn't want to then this can be read as a standalone, but you would miss so many of the references.

LOVED this book!! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would. I’d been looking forward to this series for a while. Cleo and Wraith’s story did not disappoint. Well balanced and satisfying plot.

The Killcreek Drifters MC have been a tangential part of both the Underground and Ghosttown East series. Cleo is the quiet, kind, sister of their diseased MC brother Knox. She was always so sweet in past books, in contrast to the harder edged brotherhood of Killcreek. Wraith is Killcreek’s big, no nonsense enforcer who falls for her. I love the fact that he’s not a manwhore and has no problem telling women who approach him to fuck off. If he makes any mistakes regarding Cleo, it comes from a place of being overprotective but throughout the course of the book, he sees this and adjusts.

Everything about this book is pretty close to perfect. It will be hard to top Wraith, but I look forward to reading about the other brothers in the MC, especially Gent!

How?!?

I don't know how she does it. How?!? I love EVERY book! I fall in love with every story. Wraith and Cleo were so stinking sweet! Killcreek....sweet? I know right?? How? But, dang...I can't freaking wait for the rest of their stories! Cleo's story breaks my heart. Knox sounds like an awesome brother. It breaks my heart he was killed. Wraith was protective and so in love. She was exactly what he needed. His soul mate. She brought out qualities in Wraith that were so endearing. He would burn down the world for her.
The title is appropriate. He saved her, BUT she saved him too! I'm eagerly awaiting the next stories!!! O, did I mention how I love Ghost town and the Underground being brought in!! Lol. I feel like Inez..."My boys!" I can't get enough!!

Cleo, the house mouse for Killcreek Drifters MC has been controlled her whole life, even the MC seem to only tolerate her because of her brother Knox. But she wants independence and freedom and her antics to get what she wants test the patience of the club. She isn’t invisible to Wraith though.

A fantastic start to this new series. Killcreek Drifters MC are no strangers to Ghostotwn and Underground fans and now we get to meet them up close as we are introduced to some great characters. The MC is lethal and dark and linked with formidable Inez.

I loved every page of the Savior, twists, danger, humour and anguish along with plenty of seeds planted for future story threads. I’m waiting impatiently for the next in the series.

2.5⭐

I enjoyed the gritty MC atmosphere and the dynamics between the brothers; that sense of brotherhood is exactly what I look for in this genre.
However, the reading experience felt disjointed, as if I had jumped into the middle of a series without the necessary context for the backstories. While I understand the heroine had significant trauma that hindered her, I kept waiting for her to grow a backbone and stand up for herself. It would have been much more satisfying to see her emerge as stronger and more resilient throughout the book, rather than remaining so weak.
Ultimately, I have mixed feelings about this one. While the MC world-building was solid, the lack of character growth and the confusing backstory made it a frustrating read at times.

5 ⭐️

Welcome to Killcreek, we have seen glimpses of Cleo and Wraith in books in other series and everyone has been eagerly awaiting their story. Cleo is the sister of a fallen MC member named Knox, the MC let her stay at the clubhouse but treat her like she’s a burden. Wraith is the MC’s enforcer, he’s hard, brutal and doesn’t like anyone who isn’t in the MC. Wraith starts falling in love with Cleo as she begins to want to assert her independence. Characters from other books pop in and the interactions between Cleo and Inez are fantastic. This is a fabulous start to this series and I can’t wait to see the rest of this series ❤️🖤

FINALLY!!

We finally get Wraith and Cleo's story and the wait is worth it!! I was hooked in the first chapter and couldn't put this book down. It starts with Cleo writing letters to her brother Knox and Wraith while in prison. Cleo had horrible things happen to her, yet she still manages to see good in the world and falls for Wraith. Wraith falls for her but they fight their feelings until they don't and finally admit their feelings for each other.
There's humor,misunderstandings and a few camos from old friends/acquaintances.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK AND WHAT IS TO COME FOR KILLCREEK GUYS AND THE WOMEN THEY MEET!!!
5/5 ⭐

Finally, Cleo

I have been anxiously awaiting Cleo's HEA! All the glimpses of her in others' stories, I knew it would be great. And boy was it worth the wait.
I love that unlike so many MC romances these days, this story wasn't watered down to just a heroine escaping a bad situation. It still had MC intrigue and stayed true to the genre. I love how the characters from other books I loved showed up and added to the story.
Although I detested Wraith from his appearances in those stories, he made a great hero for This story.
And as always, Ms. Shea left doors open for future great stories. I can't wait!

The Savior

What a great start to a new MC series. Gah I freaking loved Cleo nice and lovely to trusting but always wanting to do right. Wraith dang alpha yes please. Well I’m happy to say that we finally get Cleo’s past , and why she’s the way she is. My heart broke to see Hope she sees herself. Especially not having her brother Knox . Wraith is a great protector and it’s hard for him to see that all he has to do is accept that the feelings are the same for Cleo . Dang I freaked out with seeing the underground here then I also forgot they have things in common lol. I’m trying my best not to spoil anything but loved it I can’t wait for more .

I don't even know where to start...I have been waiting for this book for what feels like forever. Cleo has been our little mouse, house mouse?/motel mouse???? for the past several books in the Underground series. Living with her late brother's MC, Cleo is the young, fragile, and unassuming female presence in the Killcreek Drifters.
Wraith was in prison with Cleo's brother and feels obliged to care for Cleo now that he is gone. Cleo is done with being coddled and wants to live like real people do (singing that song in my head)...and when Cleo kissed Wraith "like real people do"...yes please! I love how rattled Wraith gets believing he isn't right for Cleo.
Get on this new ride! Enjoy!!!

Cleo’s existence has been mired in the cruelty to be found in the world. She has endured unfathomable abuse, weaponized kindness, and apathetic indifference. Her tender heart yearns for love and family;but even her salvation comes at a price.

There were so many aspects of this story that were difficult to read. I also think going into this series without having read Ghosttown East puts you at a disadvantage. I loved Wraith’s obsession with our unfailingly sweet Cleo. I do wish the brothers had done more to make her feel an accepted addition to their family.

I've been wanting to learn more about Cleo since she was introduced in the Ghosttown East series. She's an interesting character that is caring, a bit too trusting, & has endured some traumatic experiences. Her story tugged at my heart. Wraith is a bit of a jerk, enforcer for the Killcreek Drifters MC, & is all in for Cleo. He has had feelings for her for years, but she was unaware until now. The Savior is a good start to the new series. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series, especially Ghost's story. He was a standout character in this story for me.

Absolutely loved this book! Didn’t think I would, perhaps it was bias, reading about Killcreek in previous books. However this book redeemed Killcreek. Cleo is a girl who had horrible things happen to her, yet she still manages to see good in the world. And let’s face it her world quickly became Wraiths’s world. Seeing the big enforcer accepting his feelings for Cleo and his protection of her just warms the heart and soul.

Wraith and Cleo Always Meant To Be

I liked how this book finally showed two souls coming together to travel through this life together.
I totally recommend this book to read it told the back story of Cleo and how Wraith came to love her. It was great to have a few characters from other series in this book. I have read Ghosttown East and Underground. So Killcreek MC series will definitely be be great to continue reading.

Wraith and Cleo

Our shy little Cleo finally came out of hiding. I enjoyed the interaction that she had with Rogue, but especially with Inez.
This was a beautiful surprise with the story that Amelia envisioned with these two and the love ❤️ that Wraith has had for Cleo since the beginning. So sad that she didn't get more time with her brother Knox 😢 💔.
Highly recommend 👌 👍! Happy reading 📚!

Amazing start to the next series!!

I wish I could give this book more then 5 stars!! When Cleo came to the club after her brothers death, everyone knew she was meant for Wraith. Everyone but her. But she grew into her role with the club and they would all protect her with their life. What a great start to the series and it was so great to see Grain, Rogue and especially Inez❤️

It's Just So Good!!!!

I absolutely loved this new series, packed with intriguing characters and a witty, addictive storyline.
Shy and quirky Cleo combined with the fiercely possessive Wraith make the perfect couple for this story. There's lots of MC drama along with some exciting little tidbits that might be hinting at future stories.
I can't wait to see what happens next in the Killcreek MC!

I really really did love this one. It could’ve been slightly better with some stuff but I expect some of that will be resolved and seen in other books. 5+

I really wished we could have seen more of Knox and Cleo and past interactions with wraith. I really really wanted more. I think that’s what left me a bit disappointed- I just wanted more. Never wanted the book to end. Wanted more interactions. More.

finally

Finally the big giant gets the pixie woman we’ve come to love to pieces from the previous series. This love was written on the wall but we just needed to see it unfold. And let it up to Rogue to be an hero by accident. Shout out to Inez as well.
If this is your first start at a Amelia’s MC, don’t start here, but start with Ghosttown Riders for the full experience.
