This was such a good mystery. Not just because of the mystery itself of who is the suspect of Tiffany's death, but also because of everything that is happening alongside Piper trying to solve this case. The tension between Piper and Kitsune is so palpable, that it was so satisfying when their suppressed feelings and avoidance of addressing the elephant in the room reached a boiling point, and they finally expressed everything that they were avoiding. The other thing that I am interested in finding out, is who the mystery man in the cemetery is; because he seems to a lot about what is going on.

As someone who hasn't read the other books in this series before this one, this is definitely one you can pick and enjoy.

My first in the series so there is some background I have yet to be invested in. However it can definitely be read as a stand-alone. With that said, I was a little confused with the opening without that background and originally thought I was reading the wrong book as it took awhile before any mention of the reunion was introduced.

When readers are finally taken to the main event, it was bit short. As Piper and Kitsune work together while trying to keep their distance romantically on his part, you can’t help rooting for them. Once the culprit is revealed, it was at times more heartbreaking than satisfying even if it’s still in the name of justice.

Ok so yes this book has a stand-alone mystery but there is an overlapping plot and a whole ton of backstory that’s I think necessary to have to fully enjoy the story. I’m also gonna say that this feels more like romantic suspense than cozy to me. I say this cause there’s a lack of whimsy or lightheartedness that I would normally expect in a cozy. I think the characters are very well defined and I say still this feeling that I’m missing their backstory. I felt there was a bit of overuse of the metaphor/ similes. While I think the premise was good and the build up also good the solution felt rushed and so I knocked it down a star for that. My two cents your mileage may vary.

This was a great cozy murder mystery. It was really intriguing and I was definitely engaged. I had my face buried in this book needing to know what was going to happen next. I loved that this had a sweet element to this mystery. It’s nice to read a story that isn’t all wrapped up in dark plots and spice and all that extra. This was a perfectly awesome story that I had a really great time reading. This is my first time reading this author, and I’m really excited to read more.

OMG finaalllyyyy. I feel progress is afoot haha as usual, the mystery was a fun one to solve. But also, maybe this is the first time I was really saddened for the murderer. But also, everyone involved in the reunion was… wow. I have no words. But the story between Kitsune and Piper just keeps getting better and better. I liked the steady flow and also the fun circumstances in the middle of everything. It was the push that was needed. And that ending! I loved it!

Piper and Kenji are back to solve another murder, and I couldn’t be happier about it. This story truly feels like the earlier books in the series, which I absolutely loved. The mystery is gripping, the characters are well-developed, and the tension between Piper and Kenji adds that extra spark to the story. There’s also just the right touch of humor woven throughout. Loved it.
